We are currently seeking a Consultant. This role sits within the Community Impact workstream.

This is an exciting time for the Community Impact, Strategy and Fundraising team as we look to grow our client-base over the next few years, so we are now looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Consultant to join our team.

We are looking for a talented individual to work with a variety of sport, education and charity organisations around the world, enabling us to successfully execute a range of projects. There is likely to be a bias on sports-based projects.

The successful candidate will focus on leading consultancy projects for a range of clients across all the sectors we work in, so that these organisations can continue to have the best possible impact for the people and communities they serve. Projects could include organisational strategies, fundraising strategies, income generation plans, business plans, and funding reviews.

The candidate should have good general knowledge of fundraising, plus experience in developing strategies and fundraising plans for third sector organisations. However, we will consider applications from those who have more experience in one than the other.

Purpose of the post
To lead the representation of the VCS Alliance, and wider Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector (VCSE), in strategic meetings across Bradford District and Craven (BD&C). Develop and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders operating at grassroots and strategic levels to ensure Health and Social Care services are being designed and commissioned with representation of the VCSE, in support of our Act as One partnership vision for people to be Happy and Healthy at Home.

Duties and Responsibilities
Key working relationships

• Form a robust network and collaborate with a wide range of partners, across the Act as One Partnership. Foster strong relationships through effective partnership working, ensuring mutual benefits and successful relationship management.
• Represent the VCSE sector in conversations on Urgent and Emergency Care, High Intensity Use, Intermediate Care, and other strategic meetings as required.
• Ensure that VCSE partners are well represented in all engagement with commissioners and to develop the reputation of the VCSE as partners.
• Actively support the transformation of Enhanced care in the community, intermediate care offer, to support people with the appropriate level of care support and interventions to maximise independence and wellbeing.
• Lead and champion VCSE / community led High Intensity Use approaches and methodology in secondary and primary care across BD&C

Operational

• Responsible for creating an innovative way of developing the reduction in high intensity use of Emergency Departments.
• Manage and facilitate discussions and advise delivery partners as to how best practice might be adopted for future development of services and oversee their delivery.
• Facilitate, coordinate, and chair multi-disciplinary meetings, including managing data flow, to ensure a person centred and holistic approach to care provision.
• Work closely with VCSE partners to facilitate and coordinate the co-design of highly personalised projects that support improved wellbeing and health outcomes, whilst reducing inappropriate contact with health care services and unscheduled care.
• Attend a range of system forums / steering groups that are in support of unmet social needs e.g. homelessness, Mental Health.
• Work with other VCS Alliance staff to ensure links to other relevant programmes across the system.
• Develop and operate monitoring processes that support learning and assess effectiveness of provision.
• Lead on a range of projects to ensure that the outcomes agreed are delivered on time, to quality standards and in a cost-effective manner, adjusting plans as required.
• Determine links to existing projects, identifying interdependencies across projects/functions, potential impacts on wider system/sector, resource requirements and building in contingency, as necessary.
• Work with finance team in preparation of budgets.
• Monitor finance expenditure and outputs relating to programme budget and report to Senior Leadership Team and Board as appropriate.

Information Management

• Present complex information and create briefs about projects in a way that make complex topics easier to understand and are appropriate for the audience.
• Coordinate and share learning of the work with the wider partnership to promote and ensure sustainability.
• Identify patterns, themes and ‘causal factors’ which trigger relapse behaviours in order to shape future commissioning of service and/or demand/capacity planning.
• Draft reports summarising status on issues, outcomes, and provide progress/highlight reports to ICB, including highlighting exceptions and risks ensuring mitigating action can be taken to keep programmes on track.
• Maintain a risk register and ensure actions are in place to mitigate unacceptable levels of risk.

Impact and Insight

• Plan, develop and evaluate methods and processes for gathering, analysing, interpreting, and presenting data and information.
• Collate as required, qualitative and quantitative information and lead appropriate analysis to develop robust business cases.
• Analyse, interpret and present data to highlight issues, risks and support decision making across programme portfolio.

General Requirements

• Undertake personal training as required.
• Attend regular supervision sessions and staff meetings.
• Support general VCSA administration by handling inquiries via the telephone, email, and drop-ins.
• Provide relevant information for VCSA’s newsletter/s, mailings, website, and social media

Special conditions
As part of this role, you will be required to work and travel across the Bradford District and Craven. While the VCS Alliance supports hybrid working, there is an expectation that you will be based at the office for at least two days per week.

We are looking for a training and development lead who will design and implement our training and conference programmes. You will work with legal and community organisations to understand their legal needs and tailor the training to give lawyers and advisers the tools they need to help their communities. You will develop resources and training that are practical, holistic and comprehensive and delivered through a range of online and in person methods.

Solent Mind delivers Wellbeing services across Hampshire, including Eastleigh, Winchester, Fareham and Gosport, and the New Forest. This post is based in the New Forest (Hythe and New Milton). We are looking for an empathic, organised and intuitive wellbeing professional to join our student support team in the Department of Design Engineering. 

As one of two part-time student wellbeing advisers in the department, your primary work will be to provide direct one-to-one support for our postgraduate and undergraduate students. This might include conversations about mental health, relationships, sexuality, finance, studies, family issues, neurodiversity, disability, accommodation, bereavement, trauma and other topics. 

The role also involves liaising with academic colleagues, signposting students to internal & external provisions, and running occasional group wellbeing initiatives. You will be a part of developing the wellbeing provision and supporting in upskilling academic staff around wellbeing and mental health issues.

The role is part time 0.4 FTE (2 days per week) and is a fixed term contract for 2 years. The role requires 60% (or more) in-person work at our South Kensington campus, with the option to work the remainder from home. There are certain weeks of the year such as welcome week, exam weeks, and coursework deadline periods where in-person working on both days is required.

You will provide:

Wellbeing advice – you will listen, support and advise students on wellbeing issues they present with. The aim is to provide a safe, confidential, collaborative space for students to discuss whatever is on their mind. This might be a single conversation, short term support or more regular, ongoing check-ins depending on the situation. At times you will signpost students to internal/external services and liaise with appropriate staff as needed.

You will also:

· Run group wellbeing initiatives for students

· Liaise with colleagues regarding students who need extra academic support due to wellbeing issues

About the role

Our Surrey Volunteer Recruitment Manager (VRM), who must be based in or very close to Surrey, works closely with VRMs in Herts and London and our marketing team to promote the MCR programme to organisations and individuals.  The purpose is to recruit committed volunteers who will mentor a young person in their school for one hour a week during term time. We are recruiting for a Senior Youth (Support) Worker to join our small, friendly team. We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled colleague, with the vision, knowledge and commitment to lead on the delivery of our curriculum, projects, club sessions and activities with, and for, the young people of Claremont.

You will support our team of youth support workers, volunteers and Peer Educators, helping them to use their knowledge and experience for the benefit of our members. Job Purpose

This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00 (midday)-11:30pm across all of our boroughs. 

This role is for our Ealing Safe Space, 4:30pm - 11:30pm. You may be required to cover at other locations across Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow.

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis.

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc. 
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
• To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
• To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
• To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
• To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.

The Role

The role of the team manager will be to support the rest of the team in delivering interventions on a one-to-one and group basis. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The role will also include line management and supervision of support workers within the service. Team managers are responsible for management of their site; including report writing, audits and being the named manager for the site. This role directly supports the service managers in keeping to a high standard service.

You will have a proactive approach with the motivation and ability to work autonomously, under minimum supervision, exercising personal judgement effectively and referring matters where appropriate.

You must be able to communicate complex financial information to non-finance colleagues and build relationships across different functions.

You will have working knowledge of a fundraising database, especially for running reports, checking information and managing Gift Aid.

Your responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the Hansa accounting system, ensuring that the system is complete, accurate and up to date.

• Manage and execute bank and balance sheet reconciliations including prepayments and accruals, analysis of Just Giving, interest, and the interface with the Supporter Database.

• Perform journal entries and corrections. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in Hansa, as appropriate, and close off at month end.

• Reconcile the finance system against the donor database and agree changes to be made with the database team.
• Collate the Gift Aid claims and perform quality control. Train, support and audit the Fundraisers to ensure that Gift Aid is maximised and correct.

• Protection of Maggie’s assets including income and fixed assets by reconciliations and proper recording, and supporting members of staff to follow the correct procedures according to the Finance Manual.

• Support Treasury and cash management and ensure that investment income is optimised by keeping the accounting system up to date and accurate.

• Assist in preparing the Maggie’s management accounts from Hansa. The management information must be accurate, timely and relevant on a monthly basis or as required.

• Assist in the annual external audit, and provide information for the Auditors as required.

• Part-qualified accountant, or AAT qualified.
• 3 years' experience of using a computerised financial accounting package.
• English and Maths Standard Grade or Nat 5.

This role

Justice and Care is at an exciting moment with the imminent launch of a new ten-year strategy and we are looking to build a finance function to support this growth.

We are recruiting for an experienced Programme Finance Manager to manage and oversee the outworking of key financial processes at Justice & Care.  With a particular focus on support for our international projects funded by the US State Department and UK Government but with responsibilities also for our UK audit process and income/expenditure forecasting, this is a broad and varied role. 

This is a new role and will be line managed by the Finance Director but will work closely with in-country finance leads, programme teams, the Development team and wider global teams

Your main responsibilities will include;

• Collaborate with country finance leads and the programmes teams to develop detailed and well planned budgets for funding proposals including full cost recovery

• Monitor programme spend against budget, advising programme leads on financial and compliance decisions and producing numeric and narrative financial reporting in various formats, predominantly institutional donors such as the US State Department

• Project manage, forecast and monitor expenditure for UK programmes.

• Liaise with grants managers and project leads to ensure compliance on restricted grants.

• Lead on project management of the UK audit process.

• Delivering regular funder income and expenditure forecasting.

• Regular financial analysis as required to support strategic decision making.

• Manage and respond to finance related queries, becoming the finance point of contact for the UK team.

• Assist in the annual budget process, forging great relationships with budget holders.

Our General Advice Team covers a range of different projects, giving advice over the phone, virtually, face-to-face or in outreach locations. The post holder will need to be self-motivated, organised and flexible, delivering generalist level advice and information.

The role involves advising on all areas of general advice, assisting with the completion of paper and digital forms and making referrals to internal or external services. The post holder will need to be digitally aware and be able to record all client contact and outcomes as well as make referrals electronically.

1. One years’ experience of delivering generalist advice within Citizens Advice or another quality assured environment such as AQS.
