About You
The Policy and Engagement Manager is responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of the Society’s growing policy and engagement programme.
This role will report to the Head of Engagement and Storytelling, with managerial responsibilties for the Policy and Engagement Officer, and will have responsibility for leading the development and coordination of key strategic policy and engagement activities, including progressing external scientific and higher education policy for the Society and promoting the importance of engaging in policy-making to members of the Society.
Suitable candidates will have experience in developing evidence-based policy, including in research, innovation and higher education policy. They will also have excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to manage and build effective relationships with key stakeholders engaging in the Society’s activities.

Interim Head of Fundraising (18 month fixed term contract)
Youth Options are looking for an interim head of fundraising to join our Senior Management Team and help us to continue to support children and young people
The role is offered on a fixed term contract part time basis with flexible, hybrid home and office working arrangements from our Head Office in Eastleigh, Hampshire.
Your role will be to oversee the implementation of the fundraising strategy, working in collaboration with the CEO and Senior Management Team to build on existing income streams and develop effective plans to secure long-term sustainable grant and non grant fundraising.
You will manage the fundraising team which consists of community fundraiser, corporate fundraiser and grants officer, supporting them to develop clear strategies to meet our ambitious fundraising targets. In addition, you will personally lead on developing significant grant bids, working with the delivery team to achieve funding to support our strategic priorities, as well as coordinate the reporting of progress against existing grants to our supporters.

About the role
The post is part of the Billing Project, an initiative by the London Legal Support Trust, funded by The Legal Education Foundation, aimed at providing specialist support to the free advice sector in London. The project focuses on improving legal aid billing practices to reduce the backlog of unbilled files, enhance cashflow, and maximise income from legal work under legal aid.
This is the fourth iteration of the project, building on the success of pilots launched in 2017.
This project is a collaborative effort between advice agencies. The Billing Coordinator(s) will be employed by the lead organisation and work across other host organisations, with the allocation of time between these organisations to be determined and agreed upon. The Billing Coordinator(s) will also collaborate with other billing professionals in the sector, some of whom have participated in previous pilot projects. Peer-to-peer support will be available to the postholder, and specialist training will be provided to anyone looking to grow within the role.
The purpose of the role is to develop systems that improve the efficiency of costing and billing legal aid files, and to provide a crucial coordination role within the organisations, supporting existing staff in ensuring files are billed promptly and accurately while maximising income from legal aid.

About the Role
We are now recruiting for two Case Workers who will each manage and support a caseload of Black and minoritised migrant women with multiple and complex needs in contact with the criminal justice system and under immigration restrictions, providing holistic, long-term support and advocacy to empower women to rebuild their lives.
This role will support women, including young women, being released from prison to the London area, encompassing support for those on probation, ‘through-the-gate service’ users, un-sentenced women in custody and women in contact with the criminal justice system in London. The post holder will proactively develop partnerships, acting as the main point of contact for referrals in prisons, detention centres and with probation staff to identify Black and minoritised migrant women who are eligible for our services and support.
These roles will involve managing and supporting a caseload of 25-30 women at any one time, working collaboratively with each service user to develop an individual support plan with achievable and realistic goals, and supporting her to work towards them. It will include supporting women to participate in education, training, providing outreach support, and ensuring the women they work with have a clear understanding of their rights and obligations by providing up to date information on housing, health and welfare benefits. The post holders will be responsible for maintaining detailed case notes, goals, activities, participants’ attendance for funding and monitoring purposes.
The post holders will also be expected to effectively manage safeguarding issues and concerns, ensuring they are appropriately documented and referred. The successful candidates will also provide cover and support for our Women’s Centre and workshops

About you

The successful candidate will have significant experience of working directly with Black and minoritised women, including young women under 30, affected by the criminal justice system, the immigration system, and/or violence against women and girls. This is a unique chance to play a pivotal role in driving impactful external communication strategies that support Individual Giving and Events and Community Fundraising. As a key player in the Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team, you’ll enable the integration of mass fundraising activities into wider organisational communications, inspiring action to fund life-saving initiatives that help men navigate prostate cancer.

As Business Intelligence (BI) Developer you will be responsible for working with Hospice UK’s data to provide insights that support decision-making.
You’ll collaborate with colleagues at all levels to understand their needs and develop dashboards, reports and insights which help facilitate efficient, effective, and modern ways of working and a great colleague experience.
Guided by the Data Manager, you’ll ensure that Hospice UK complies with all relevant legislation and best practice such as complying with UK GDPR and maintaining our security accreditations. You’ll also work closely with other members of the ICT and Data team.
You’ll bring a broad set of data skills and knowledge with specific technical skills and experience developing using Power BI and SQL. We are at the start of our journey using modern data tools, with training for all colleagues planned, but you will need to guide inexperienced colleagues. Whilst challenging, this is an opportunity to shape how we work for the long term.
You’ll be working with others to collect and analyse the data that is most useful for hospices across the UK to compare their services and understand the impact we make collectively. You’ll also combine this with third-party data sources, such as population data, which will help local hospices reach everyone who needs help. Hospice UK will use this data and insight for national research and campaigning.
For our hospice sector data work, there are multiple data sources, some of which are bespoke databases within Hospice UK’s systems, whereas others are external including publicly available.
Internally, within Hospice UK, you’ll work with colleagues from different departments to improve how we measure our own performance. You’ll develop a performance reporting framework which provides clarity and insight, from our Board level key performance indicators to our day-to-day operational process performance measures.
Within Hospice UK the main data sources are our CRM, Website CMS, Grants Management, Finance and HR systems. We also use bespoke data capture forms and databases for specific purposes.
We’re a small in-house ICT and Data team, supported by 3rd party suppliers.

About the role
We are delighted to have received three-year funding from the Aviva Foundation to fund this brand-new Grants Officer role based in London.
You’ll be part of our Programmes team supporting kinship carers in London to access grants which will help reduce financial stress. This could be grants to buy things like white goods and uniforms or accessing Buttle grants to support children growing up in kinship care.
As Grants Officer you’ll talk to kinship carers, discuss their needs, their priorities and then write charitable grant applications on their and their family’s behalf.
You will oversee and deliver the grants process, including co-ordinating the purchase of items (such as children’s clothes, beds or washing machines), collecting receipts for items as required by the funders and liaising with all teams to ensure timely receipt of funds within the charity and to the kinship carers.
Building relationships with funders is core, sharing the impact of the grants and insight about the lives of kinship families in London. You’ll work closely with Programmes, Peer Support, Training and Advice colleagues who work with kinship families in London.
You will also create and run online and face-to-face workshops and clinics, helping kinship carers to understand how to apply for other grants, thereby encouraging resilience and confidence to apply for grants themselves.

Prepare for meetings, including compiling and distributing board papers, managing meeting dates and availability, and ensuring logistical arrangements.
Take accurate minutes and provide general administrative support for Board level members, always ensuring strict confidentiality.
Regularly update and maintain Board requirements, including EDI data, references, annual Conflict of Interest declarations, DBS checks, and other governance related documentation including Foundation Training log and Policy changes.
Provide administrative support to the Chair of Trustees as required, ensuring they have the necessary documentation, scheduling support, and other assistance to fulfil their role effectively.
Events and PR
Assist with organising events to showcase the Foundation’s work, including functions for donors, potential donors, community and voluntary groups.
Representing BLCF
Work as an effective Ambassador for the Foundation always, including at events and external networking.
Engage with the UK Community Foundation peer network to ensure the best practice is shared from across the sector
Experience
Demonstrable experience of using online file managements systems (e.g. SharePoint) to manage data and information relating to an organisations core systems, policies and processes.
Experience in working at Board or senior levels with supporting administration and issues in a confidential manner.
Experience of working under pressure while effectively collaborating across teams to achieve objectives.
Experience in administrative work, including managing tasks efficiently and supporting operational processes.
Some understanding of the wider voluntary and charity sector. (D)
Skills & Abilities
Excellent computer and administration skills, with experience using Word, Canva (or comparable design tools), Excel, PowerPoint, and databases such as Salesforce.
Demonstrably highly organised, capable of juggling projects and tasks, delivering structured plans, and adapting quickly to changing circumstances.
A self-starter, able to act on own initiative, organise, plan, and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
Demonstrable and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a small team and provide cross-functional support.
Ability to maintain strict confidentially and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Good time keeping skills and effective time management skills, ensuring deadlines and commitments are met.
