Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Hate Crime Reporting Coordinator. As Hate Crimes are still under reported, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in increasing awareness of Hate Crime in Barnet and working on a multi-agency basis to coordinate community awareness raising events, ensuring residents, statutory and voluntary organisations, and others are informed about Hate Crime and know how to report it.

This role requires community engagement, delivering staff training workshops, monitoring and reporting hate crime data, and a commitment to a victim-centred approach.

The post is funded by MOPAC

Key Responsibilities:

· Engage with residents and diverse communities, including disabled people, LGBTQ+ groups, and Gypsy Roma Traveller groups to raise awareness about reporting hate crime.

· Coordinate communications and community events to raise awareness of Hate Crime and encourage reporting.

· Organise and conduct workshops and forums for diverse community groups.

· Train staff and volunteers to identify hate crime and support clients to report incidents to the Police.

· Monitor national and local hate crime data, including incidents recorded by Barnet Hate Crime Reporting Centres and produce quarterly reports of the work to tackle Hate crime in Barnet

· Support victims to report hate crimes and incidents to the Police and signpost to relevant support organisations.

· Support Barnet’s network of Hate Crime Reporting Centres including co-ordinated communications and staff training.

· Develop Barnet’s Safe Places Scheme for people with learning disabilities, autistic adults and adults-at-risk.

Millions of EU citizens live in the UK and have to adjust to the impact of Brexit and secure their rights under the EU Settlement Scheme. It is the most isolated and disadvantaged groups of EU citizens who are struggling the most. Our charity Settled is the leading advice and support provider for EU citizens in the UK. We have secured funding for 2 new posts targeted at addressing these needs. The first is for a Romanian speaker based in London and Kent who can address the needs of the Roma community, including making a short information video. We are now recruiting for a new role in the Resources Team, Crisis at Christmas to support with coordinating the material donations needed to set up and run Crisis at Christmas centres and services. Every year, Crisis at Christmas opens its doors to people who need our support, offering warmth, accommodation, healthcare, food, and specialist advice. Last Christmas we worked with over 6,600 people facing homelessness through our day centres and hotels in London, and Crisis Skylight centres across Britain.

Contract: Fixed term contract from 10 September 2024 to 28 February 2025 

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week. Core working hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday, but due to the nature of the project some weekend and evening work may be required.

About the role 

As a Project Coordinator – Resources your role will involve building relationships with current and new corporate donors to ensure we can resource all the required material donations we need to run the Crisis at Christmas centres in London.  Gift in kind donations we require range from food and beverages to clothing, hairdressing equipment and minibuses. This is a varied role that involves researching donors, communicating with large corporate companies, managing volunteers, and running community donations. 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience of customer service and ability to deal with working with partner organisations and donors via phone and email in a professional and friendly manner. 

• Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities

About The Team

The Advice team at our Plymouth Hub delivers legal aid funded and non-legal aid funded work throughout Devon and Cornwall. Also based at the Hub are members of our Lived Experience team, who deliver a range of activities with the aim of ensuring the views and experiences of individuals with lived experience of bad housing or homelessness informs all of Shelter’s work and a Community Organiser who works with the local community to fight the housing emergency. People are at the heart of the services we offer and, in order to keep growing and evolving to suit the communities we work with and bring about real change, we need to understand what really matters for people.

Our Legal Service provides specialist legal knowledge across Shelter through four teams covering Community Legal advice, Strategic Litigation, the National Legal Team and Legal Support Team. You will be part of our Community Legal Team, who are based across our 11 hub locations and work alongside hub colleagues every day to fight housing injustice and deliver systemic change relating to housing practice in our local communities.

About the role

Using your legal expertise, you will play a key role in tackling housing in justice and unfair housing practices. You will be working under our Legal Aid contract, delivering legal advice and representing tenants at court where needed. Delivering systemic change through legal challenge to prevent homeless will also be a considerable part of the role.

About You

Qualified as a Solicitor, you will have a strong knowledge of housing law and be used to managing your own caseload. You have strong skills in advocacy, litigation, and file reviews. If you meet the Supervisor status for legal aid purposes that would be preferable but isn’t essential, as is experience of working under a legal aid contract.

About the organisation

nia has been delivering services to women, girls and children who have been subjected to sexual and domestic violence and abuse, including prostitution, since 1975. The organisation has three main aims: to provide services for women, girls and children who have experienced men’s violence; contributing to ending male violence against women and girls, and to inform and influence policy and public awareness.
The Emma Project, Daria House and Jan’s Place are specialist services providing refuge and support services to women who have been subjected to domestic and/or sexual violence and abuse, including women who have been sexually exploited, including through prostitution and who also use substances problematically.

Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London.  All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment. This role will be working with clients who have mental or physical health support needs, wanting to gain paid employment.

We are recruiting an employment worker, with lived experience of mental health, to join our employment service in the London Borough of Enfield.

Experience of employment support is not essential, it is more important that you share our passion and commitment to supporting people to help people progress towards their employment goals. You will receive training in pre-employment and signposting, and in supporting people with mental health issues.  Ideally you will have experience of peer support and have a relevant qualification but we can arrange training if needed.

You need to have a desire to support people to achieve their employment goals, and the ability to multitask and manage your workload effectively. Good organisation skills are essential for this role, in addition to an interest in health, and the role it plays in the workplace. The successful candidate will need to have good organisational and research skills as you will be arranging training, accessing volunteering and work experience opportunities according to client action plans.

The role involves hybrid working and is for 35 hours per week.

You will work with clients (managing a caseload) who have mental health support needs, to assist them in progressing towards their employment goals. You will deliver pre-employment and employment support; providing person centred support and guidance to clients, whilst building positive relationships with local organisations to enable clients to access opportunities

You will work closely with clinical teams, the DWP and local agencies, providing a coordinated approach that always remains client led.  You will also be working to targets whilst maintaining a high-quality service.

We are looking for an experienced professional to take a key role in our grant-making team as our second grants officer.  You will be comfortable analysing applications for funding and making informed recommendations, as well as a highly competent database user, comfortable with “super user” responsibilities. In addition, you will take a lead on data – reporting on, representing and interrogating our grant-making data. You will also be lead contact on a limited number of funds, so must be confident managing relationships with stakeholders. Finally, you will oversee our grantee feedback process; managing process for receipt, collation and distribution of grant feedback. 

So, if you are database-confident, numerate, analytical, self-motivated, highly organised and comfortable taking the initiative, this could be the opportunity for you. You would be an integral part of a great team getting much needed grants to worthy causes all over Kent & Medway.

Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA)
Working Pattern: 30 hours per week (4 weekdays)

The salary, pro rata, is as follows:
For an unqualified advocate: equivalent to a full time post of £23,920 gross, which equates to £19,136 actual gross salary working four days per week.

About the Role

The post holder will support vulnerable patients within the Adult Forensic and Acute Adult Services of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, with scope to work with patients at various stages of their treatment and rehabilitation. Please note that this role requires physical presence at the hospital.  Appointment will be subject to risk assessment. 

The successful, dynamic candidate will have:

• Experience of providing Independent Mental Health Advocacy, or having worked in a related field, to a high standard.  Relevant skills and experience from backgrounds other than Advocacy can be built on.
• The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of professionals and service-users.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as well as being adaptable to the needs and abilities of others.
• A working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, relating to both the civil and forensic sections of the Act and other associated legislation. As a minimum, a general understanding is required, with a willingness and an ability to expand on this once in post.

Required experience: Working within Advocacy or a Related Field for at least 1 year 
Desirable experience: Holding the National Advocacy Certificate Qualification

CRM Learning and Engagement Manager
(known internally as DARS Senior User Engagement Officer)

Location: Oxford – hybrid working may be an option

Salary: Grade 7: £36,024 - £44,263 per annum with possible extension to £48,350.

The Development and Alumni Relations System (DARS) team is dedicated to enhancing the University's engagement with its alumni and donors through an advanced constituent relationship management system. Our team focuses on supporting this CRM system to drive fundraising and strengthen alumni relations, ensuring seamless collaboration and continuous improvement in our processes and user support.

About the Role

As a member of the User Engagement team, your role will be integral to supporting and enhancing the University's CRM system for development and alumni engagement. Key responsibilities include:

• User Training and Engagement: Develop and update training courses, create learning materials, and facilitate workshops to ensure effective user engagement with the DARS system.
• Business Process Improvement: Analyse and enhance business processes to optimize the functionality and efficiency of the DARS system.
• Support and Relationship Management: Provide comprehensive support through one-on-one coaching, project assistance, and managing key business partnerships to maintain strong collaborative relationships.

To Be Successful You’ll Need:

• Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to clearly convey information and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and presentations.
• Analytical Abilities: Proficiency in analysing business processes and identifying areas for improvement.
• Relationship Management: Experience in managing and nurturing business partnerships or building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships.
• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Proficient in utilising Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create impactful presentations and documents.
  • Proficient in learning management systems (LMS) and various e-learning platforms.
  • Knowledge of the DARS system as used at the University of Oxford; or of other comparable fundraising or relationship management software (such as Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce
• Project Management: Skills in managing projects, providing project support, and ensuring timely delivery of objectives.
• Training and Development: Proficient in designing and implementing training programs, crafting educational resources, and utilising learning management systems to enhance employee development.
