Job Purpose: To provide Information & Advice to older people. The service is primarily office-based but may also include outreach or home visits; providing support to the Volunteer I&A Advisors, providing office cover as required and supporting the I&A Advice Case Supervisor in keeping our information resources up to date.

We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland.  You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.

You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. Responsibilities and Person Specification:

We are recruiting for two Generalist Advisers - one permanent and one fixed term contract for 12 months. The roles are an integral part of the day-to-day delivery of our Advice and Support Service, which has been re-shaped and went live in the summer of 2024. The service is targeted at older people in or facing financial hardship, and provides information, advice and follow up support to older people, their friends, family and professionals.

As a Generalist Adviser you will be responsible for providing advice and support during calls received through the duty line, pre-booked appointments and short term casework.  

You should have knowledge and experience of advising on a wide range of topics, including Welfare Benefits, Housing and Social Care. You should have experience of working within an advice setting and advice supervision framework such as the AQS framework. You will have a warm, supportive and person-centred approach, working alongside individuals in a holistic manner.

We are looking for an advice supervisor for our fantastic team of volunteer advisers who provide advice and advocacy on a variety of social welfare issues including welfare benefits, housing, debt and health and welfare. We hold the Advice Quality Mark.  We are looking for someone with at least 3 years recent experience of providing or supervising social welfare advice,(e.g. on welfare benefits, debt or housing)  including advocating complex cases.. 

Living Well Bromley is a foodbank and support charity based in Penge, South East London. Our services are free to use and include a foodbank, a clothes bank, hot meals, free café, community choir, counselling and advice and advocacy. The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

Do you have experience of working in drug services and with volunteers? Have you been affected by hepatitis C or have you supported anyone who has hepatitis C? We are looking for a passionate and skilled peer lead who has excellent communication and organisational skills. We require a good standard of education and welcome creativity and innovation in all our work.

Working under the guidance of the Peer Programme Manager, this post will continue the development of the project, recruiting and coordinating peers across identified areas within West Kent. Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will coordinate delivery of educational workshops, hepatitis C testing in community settings, ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care.

This post will require extensive travel across the county and the post holder is required to hold a clean driving licence and have their own vehicle for work related travel.

This role involves one to one support for unpaid Carers who support people with various support conditions including autism.

Skills and experience:

Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable young people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to young people in need of support.

Future Roots Supported accommodation is located in Welwyn Garden City. We are looking fo a Supported Accommodation Worker who will support the 5 Housemates to learn the skills they require to live independently, whilst ensuring the accommodation is a safe and homely environment to live in. The role will require a reasonable degree of flexibility, to respond to the needs of the house. This may include changes to working patterns or additional ‘sleep in’ nights’’ paid at an additional rate.’’support.

What will you be doing? 

• Manage a varied caseload with differing timescales and deadlines.

• Be involved in the screening and interview process of potential new Housemates. 

• Build a professional and trusting relationship with the young people to enable to them to engage with the support and improve their situation and prospects. 

• Provide 1-1 and group support and opportunities to learn identified life skills for independent living, using a range of tools and skills, including hyh’s ASDAN training package.

• To identify any risk factors and ensure appropriate measures are in place. 

• Sleep at the accommodation overnight on an adhoc basis and in the case of an emergency or organsiational need.  An additional payment will be made to cover for any overnight shifts required,

• Report any safeguarding (child protection) concerns to your line-manager and refer as appropriate 

• Be part of a team responsible to ensure the property is meeting all requiredstandards, which will include: 

  • Regular Health and Safety checks 

  • Co-ordinating Building maintenance 

  • Risk Assessments 

• To promote and facilitate Youth Engagement across the service 

• Engage effectively in multi-agency working, developing collaborative relationships and partnerships with relevant staff in a range of agencies to broker and co-ordinate support for young people. 

• Ensure all service administration tasks are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
