The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in growing a large and complex individual giving or subscription programme across multiple products and channels. They will also have demonstrable experience of leading successful organisational transformation to create long-term value, as well as of leading projects within a complex stakeholder or matrix management environment. Significant experience in individual supporter fundraising or consumer marketing through direct marketing techniques will be essential.

The successful candidate will play an integral role in designing, developing and leading the delivery of our fundraising strategy to ensure that children and young people have the best start in life. Key Responsibilities

Role Summary

As Head of Fundraising and Business Development, you will be responsible for implementing an effective fundraising and income generation strategy aligned to the objectives of our organisational Strategic plan and with a strong emphasis on partnership building and relationship management.

Business Development Objectives

• Take the lead on Business Development for the charity by ensuring processes and procedures for supporting us to bid for and secure public sector contracts are robust and effective.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, dynamic and internationally minded individual to lead the finance function at World Cancer Research Fund International (WCRF Intl).

WCRF Intl is a not-for-profit organisation that leads and unifies a network of cancer prevention charities. These charities are based in Europe, the Americas and Asia, giving us a global voice to inform people about cancer prevention. The finance function, International Financial Services (IFS), is a central service, split across the London and Arlington, VA office and is the hub for supporting the charities in all areas of financial processing and management.

The Finance Director will be responsible for the oversight of all financial aspects of the network charities, including strategic financial planning, managing financial risks, financial reporting, and ensuring sustainable economic health.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Events and Partnerships Manager to join our Events and Partnerships Teams. This role will require the successful candidate to proactively lead our Events Team to review and overhaul our current events programme before implementing a varied and exciting refreshed programme which will engage new and current supporters as well as the local community and our children, young people and their families.

They will also lead our Partnerships Team to develop and maintain and grow long-term, high value and multifaceted community, group and corporate partnerships to maximise income, value and influence for The Children’s Trust.

Role Requirements

• Working alongside the Head of Public Fundraising, you will strengthen and implement business planning, pipeline and budgeting processes as well as devise comprehensive audience-led stewardship plans, maintaining momentum and focus to achieve targets.  
• Lead the implementation and delivery of the strategy for the Events and Partnerships teams and work with the Head of Public Fundraising and the teams to develop and review strategies to maximise income from events and partnerships
• Manage partnership pipeline including building opportunities with new businesses to increase the range, value and number of partnerships for The Children’s Trust
• Lead the Events team to review and overhaul our current events programme so that we are maximising net income and ROI as well as meeting the needs of our supporters and local community, and building connections and long-term relationships with our events supporters
• Work across the Retail, Fundraising and Communications directorate to maximise opportunities for contact mapping, cross-sell and support the activity of other teams within the directorate (including but not limited to stock donations, sponsorship of committee-led events, pro bono support, gifts in kind etc.)
• Be responsible for the implementation of the budgets and delivery of income and expenditure against the plans
• Bring the Events and Partnerships teams together to ensure that we are seizing opportunities to integrate the programmes, for instance through corporate sponsorships of events, employee volunteering or participation, donated goods for raffles and auctions, match funding and more
• Develop relationships with colleagues across the Public Fundraising Team, wider directorate and organisation to ensure that opportunities for engagement, integration and promotion of events and partnerships are maximised and publicised

Having recently won a major national award for Fundraising Team of the Year at the annual Third Sector awards, East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) is now seeking an outstanding income generation leader to help realise it’s ambitions of reaching more children, young people and families across the East Anglian region that need our care.

We’re looking for an experienced Director of Fundraising and Marketing & Communications to join the executive leadership team at EACH. This role offers flexibility to work from any of our three hospices at Milton near Cambridge, The Treehouse in Ipswich and The Nook, near Norwich, combined with hybrid working.

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) provides specialist care for babies, children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk and supports their families. All three of our hospices are rated as Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

As Director of Fundraising and Marketing & Communications you will lead the strategic planning and delivery of the Marketing and Fundraising annual plan (£7.5m) across all income streams, including major giving, community and events, corporate, trust and foundation teams. This is a critical leadership position, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team at EACH.

You’ll be leading a talented team of 30, encouraging, empowering and inspiring colleagues to innovate in ways which help us deliver our overall objectives. You’ll underpin this income generation experience with detailed forecasting and activity planning.

Highly knowledgeable and experienced in delivering primary income streams with experience of develop income strategies to deliver year on year growth

• Significant people management skills with experience leading a team of professionals
• Thorough understanding of fundraising, including identification research, solicitation, pitching and account management.
• Knowledge of the scope and content of the Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Proven experience of working to and achieving ambitious targets.

• Experience in managing large budgets (£3m +) with strong finance acumen.

The Fundraising Assistant will be a key member of the fundraising team. Supporting the team to deliver a wider range of fundraising activities including events, challenges and campaigns as well as helping maximise the supporter journey and providing excellent donor care. You will enjoy collaborating with others and be an excellent communicator who can plan and prioritise efficiently, whilst delivering exceptional customer service.

You will be responsible for Database Management and keeping the CRM up to date and Management of donation Platforms and being the go-to person for fundraising enquiries.

Main Responsibilities:

•  Importing data in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.
• Construction of automated tasks in the CRM which are assigned to other members of the team to enable stewardship via the correct fundraising team member.
• To assist the fundraising team by providing administrative support for the charities events and campaigns to maximise income.
• To assist with the administration of event participants and ticket buyers, including responding to enquiries in a timely fashion, building relationships by phone and email and encouraging and motivating participants to meet and exceed targets
• To keep up to date records of all collection boxes and buckets in the community
• To be the first point of contact for phone face to face plus emails via the fundraising inbox for all fundraising enquiries, respond in a timely manner and recognise the opportunity to build relationships and encourage fundraising support.
• To run and analyse weekly financial reports to ensure donations are recorded correctly and the appropriate thank you has been sent.
• Support regular gift aid claim submissions to HMRC to take place monthly.
• Support the team to provide communications to the correct audiences for marketing activity.
• Assist in processing donations from mailing appeals.
• Work with the fundraising team to ensure data recording is kept up to date in a timely way
• Assist and support other members of the fundraising team e.g., sending out events/fundraising packs and ensuring all event participants are thanked within the scheduled time.
• Regularly review and adapt supporter communications, including thank you letters and ensure these are implemented across the organisation for consistency
• Keep up to date with new developments, legal requirements, codes of conduct and best practice including being GDPR compliant.
• Manage stock of event promotional items and ensure availability of items required at events, distribute and collect items for the team
• Attend and contribute to team meetings.
• Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required.

Person specification

Knowledge and experience:

• Strong, demonstratable experience in administration
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience and good working knowledge of using a CRM system (preferably Beacon)
