We are seeking applications for the position of Domestic Abuse Caseworker, dedicated to assisting women from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities in their journey toward seeking support for domestic abuse. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional in the VAWG sector, offering frontline, trauma-informed support to women facing abuse or other forms of Gender-Based Violence. Given the specific focus on supporting victim-survivors from minoritised communities within the borough, the successful candidate must possess a comprehensive understanding of the particular challenges faced by BAME women affected by domestic abuse.
The successful candidate must be passionate about ending Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and should already possess experience providing individualised practical advice, support, and advocacy to survivors. You will be joining a team of two other DA Caseworkers, so working collaboratively to support the outcomes of our service users will be necessary. Additionally, we expect the successful candidate provide other aspects of more general information, support and advise to our service users recognizing that the impact of domestic abuse has wider implications in areas such as immigration, finances, housing etc.This role is open to women only, and given the nature of this role, we particularly encourage applicants from Black, Asian and Minority communities.

Job Description
The purpose of this role is to raise LMK’s profile and to engage LMK’s stakeholders in our services, campaigns and fundraising efforts by delivering impactful content across all of our online and offline communication channels in alignment with our vision, mission and strategic objectives. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating quality communications, you will lead our PR and media work, be skilled in creating engaging video content and add your expertise to developing and delivering our social media, website and stakeholder communications.
Reporting to our CEO, the successful candidate will job-share with our established 2 day-per week Marketing & Communications Manager. As a member of LMK’s core staff team, you will work with LMK staff, LMK Leaders (youth workers who deliver our workshops to young people), members of our Youth Advisory Board, trustees and key stakeholders to develop and implement our brand, marketing and social media strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Brand
- Co-develop LMK’s marketing strategy, leveraging key stakeholder input and action plans to support it
- Co-ownership of the execution of all marketing activities and materials, ensuring they reflect the brand and the values of the charity
- Lead the planning and execution of PR and media campaigns, leveraging media contacts, ensuring LMK has engaging media materials and our spokespeople are fully prepared to maximise media opportunities
- Be a brand guardian, responsible for the consistent use of visual identity, tone and messaging in our external materials, working with our graphic designer to support teams across LMK with branding
Communications, Content Development & Execution
- Co-ownership of the execution of all communications and content development
- Lead on the creation of engaging video content that can be used across communications platforms
- Working with the wider team, produce communications materials for supporters and key stakeholders in conjunction with the fundraising team
- Source and write up regular impact stories from across the organisation that reflect our strategic objectives which can be used in a variety of channels
- Be responsible for tracking the impact of marketing & communications, sharing reports with the team and Board of Trustees
Digital
- Grow and expand LMK’s social media presence onto new platforms (e.g. TikTok, SnapChat, Bluesky) whilst expanding existing presence on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn
- Monitor social channels daily, checking for messages/comments
- Co-manage the website as a key marketing channel, creating engaging content, optimising for SEO, overseeing website design updates, coordinating with developers on technical aspects, and analysing website traffic

The independent domestic violence advocate will work closely with victims of domestic abuse who have experienced all forms of abuse from the point of crisis, providing high quality independent advocacy and support. The post holder will work closely with their manager to build effective referral pathways with a range of statutory and voluntary services. As a Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will be:
You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside health professionals in a hospital environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse.
Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
This role involves both face to face and virtual support in a hybrid model of working. There is an expectation that you will do a mixture of working from home, our office Singer Street and in co-location at Lewisham Hospital.
You will need:
- To be comfortable with running group training sessions and be willing and able to share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital.
- Have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.
- Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).

About the role:
We work within a coordinated partnership response to violence against women and girls as part of the Angelou Partnership. Within the partnership ADVANCE provides independent domestic abuse advocacy and support for women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.
The IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process specialising in working with clients at high risk. They will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from aged 13, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice and civil remedies and related matters, support women to attend court where necessary, and coordinate the provision of multi-agency support. Part of the role will to be to establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with services providing services to clients and partner agencies within the Angelou Partnership. As a Core IDVA will work across the boroughs mentioned above, under the guidance of the team leaders and project manager.
To be successful as the Core IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:
To be successful as a Core IDVA, you’ll need to have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse sector. As an experienced domestic abuse advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, you will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic abuse, of supporting women involved in mental health services, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

As a Children & Young people's Independent Domestic Violence Advisor you will be required to:
- Effectively manage a caseload of different risk level cases of young people and provide specialist support to reduce the risk and increase safety.

- Work collaboratively with LVWS IDVAs and other relevant support services to achieve the best outcomes for the family unit.

The temporary Young Women's Domestic Violence Support Worker will be working closely with beneficiaries of this charity to rebuild their lives after having left, or in the process of leaving a domestic violence situation.
This role offers a hybrid working model of Tuesdays & Wednesdays onsite and the rest remote. This position running until the end of March and is to start as soon as possible, so you will need to be available immediately or have a short notice period to be considered.
You will be a supervised support worker, managing a sensible caseload that suits your experience and capability, and you will be meeting with survivors face to face to provide advocacy in police stations, schools, courts etc. You will utilise practical development to increase social stability, healthcare and general independence, and emotional support through therapeutic activities, providing advice and guidance to equip and empower better socio-emotional health. You'll in essence be working with young women to help them thrive, free from abuse and violence.
Successful candidates will have experience within a similar role, supporting those who are or have been experiencing domestic abuse. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
Candidates with IDVA, ISVA, YPVA or similar qualifications will be prioritised.

You will be working in a team of Community Keyworkers in your region. Each Keyworker will provide holistic one to one community support to women with a variety of needs.
About You:
To be successful as the Community Key Worker you will need the below experience and skills.
You will need to hold a UK driving licence with access to car that can be used for work purposes. A creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder with have good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also, experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions within the North London

Specialist Behaviour Support Workers are responsible for supporting people with learning disabilities and behavioural needs to live full lives, develop skills and maintain their wellbeing.
We are looking for a specialist behavioural support worker to support one customer in her own home in Welwyn Garden City. Specialist Support Workers within Look Ahead are required to have either an extra dimension of experience or a higher qualification level as determined relevant for the particular post. Specialist Support Workers provide information, social inclusion and vocational opportunities to support people to recover and stay well; exercise choice and control in their care and lives; and participate on an equal footing in the community. Support is also provided to develop a model of re-enablement towards self-advocacy, self-management and empowerment, incorporating the principles and practice of recovery, co-production and peer support. This role must have an excellent value base to support the customer to build their life and develop their skills and passions as an independent person.
A full driving licence is required for this position.
