We are seeking a Domestic Abuse/Sexual violence Practitioner with an emphasis on wellbeing to join our Advocacy team as we continue through the third year of our three-year strategy for 2022-25.
This role requires working in partnership with other London domestic abuse support services, to provide pro-active emotional, practical and advocacy support for autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities, with complex or multiple needs who have experienced any form of domestic abuse/sexual violence.
The role will focus on emotional support to move forward after traumatic and harmful experiences, operating alongside the ISVA Service Manager and Senior ISVA you will be required to devise a programme of wellbeing activities to address other ways to enhance their resilience and wellbeing - working across London to provide non-judgmental, trauma-informed emotional support.
Our ideal candidate will have a friendly and relational approach to working with clients. You will have the ability to build trusting relationships, work in an empowering and inclusive way and support clients to heal following sexual abuse and develop coping capacity. You will be a self-motivated individual who will engage with a wider range of people who have experience sexual violence, and other barriers to justice.

The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children. The post holder will also have an understanding of children’s social care and care proceedings. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women involved with Children’s Social Services and Early Help, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

This role provides advice and advocacy to LGBTQ+ people who contact Stonewall Housing because they are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The goal is to help people understand their rights and navigate their housing options in order that they have somewhere safe to live. People usually contact us because they are in crisis, the Case Worker’s job is to calmly assess their housing needs, provide them with immediate advice and sign posting and, where necessary, provide advocacy case work to ensure they get access to what they are entitled to.

Main Duties of the Post
Casework Sessions
· To give holistic support to LGBTQ+ people accessing our advice and advocacy service and to provide proactive support to these service users who are sometimes hard to engage.
· To assess each individual’s current housing situation and form a view with regards to risk associated with their case.
· To explore all options available to the service user allowing them to make informed decisions.
· To work with LGBTQ+ people accessing the advice and advocacy to develop and review individual work plans and risk assessments.
· To have regular case work sessions to provide structured support, in relation to Housing specific issues.

· To support service users to report repairs and work with landlords and advocate where necessary.
· To support service users to contact local authority, voluntary and private sector landlords to report anti-social behaviour issues and advocate where necessary.

This role provides support to LGBTQ+ people who have experienced domestic abuse and are living in safe accommodation in the community. The goal is to help people prepare for independent living in their own tenancies. The Resettlement Worker will meet with each resident to assess their needs and agree goals which will help them achieve independence. The Resettlement Worker then puts together a support plan and meets regularly with service users to provide support, challenge and encouragement as they make their journey.

Semi-independent Living Support
• To work with service users to enable them to develop the life and social skills necessary to sustain their accommodation and prepare them for independent living.

• To act quickly to manage incidents and to advise, support and assist service users unable to maintain supported accommodation into more appropriate housing options.
Resettlement
• To support service users in the completion of application forms necessary to support move-on housing, including the private rented sector.
• To ensure that all service users are provided with information about local services whilst in safe accommodation and during their move on.
• To ensure all service users are fully aware of their rights and responsibilities in their home.
• To work with housing providers, both public and private, to negotiate move on options.

Main Duties of the Post
Casework Sessions
· To give holistic support to LGBTQ+ people accessing our advice and advocacy service and to provide proactive support to these service users who are sometimes hard to engage.
· To assess each individual’s current housing situation and form a view with regards to risk associated with their case.
· To explore all options available to the service user allowing them to make informed decisions.
· To work with LGBTQ+ people accessing the advice and advocacy to develop and review individual work plans and risk assessments.
· To have regular case work sessions to provide structured support, in relation to Housing specific issues.
· To liaise with other service providers ensuring service users receive the necessary support to sustain their accommodation, acquire relevant independent living skills, maintain or improve positive physical and mental health and access into meaningful occupation of their time.
Liaison with Landlords / Other Agencies
· To support service users to report repairs and work with landlords and advocate where necessary.
· To support service users to contact local authority, voluntary and private sector landlords to report anti-social behaviour issues and advocate where necessary.
· To support service users to present to local authorities as homeless, where appropriate, and advocate where necessary.

· To establish and maintain accurate and complete records in all areas of work

About this key role
As our specialist worker you will provide peer supervisory support to the team within the wider hospital based services, which includes deputising for the Senior Caseworker, and supporting the Data Coordinator and Senior Caseworker with the collation of information and data for project monitoring purposes. We will also count on you to develop and maintain strong relationships with clinicians and hospital staff, while also identifying onward referral pathways with other services in the hospital such as CAMHS, IDVA, COMPASS and other statutory and voluntary sectors in the community.

About the Role:
Oaklands & St Kilda is a pair of 6-unit supported accommodation mental health rehab services working with young people between the ages of 18-25 who may have experienced a mental health related hospital admission to gain and develop skills for future independent living. The service will support individuals transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult services.
The service forms part of a pair of services supporting up to 12 individuals at any one time across the sites, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for young people across London on a spot purchase basis.

The Baobab Centre is a non-residential therapeutic community that supports young asylum seekers and refugees who have experienced human rights abuses and have sought asylum in the UK as unaccompanied minors. Our two focus areas are rehabilitation and justice.
This is a unique oppertunity for a passionate and experienced fundraiser to progress further in their career, with the freedom to creatively enhance and develop the fundraising strategy of an impactful community-based charity.
As Senior Fundraising Lead you will be Baobab’s key fundraiser and a self-starter with experience of working in a small or medium sized charity. You will lead on the development of fundraising at Baobab, exploring new avenues for funding, as well as nurturing and growing existing fundraising relationships. You will be responsible for strategising and carrying out a successful program of fundraising from small, medium and large charitable trusts and foundations to an agreed annual fundraising target. You will also assist in delivering Baobab’s individual major donor programme, helping to set up and deliver communications and events related to this income stream. There is scope to explore further fundraising activites including events, corporate and community fundraising. You will play a central role and work closely with our operations team, as well as recieving expert monthly mentoring from a senoir fundraising consultant.
This role is for 4 or 5 days per week depending on your preference, it will include Fridays which is when staff meetings are held.

Mental Health: All of the young people Baobab supports suffer significant mental health and developmental difficulties and many function in an unstable and more immature way than their chronological age. Due to their experiences it takes time to gain trust from the young people in our community. As a core member of our team, you will understand the impact of specific human rights abuses on the development of children and young people in exile and their individual experiences of loss, trauma and grief on their mental health and well-being.
Baobab’s Model: Please read the accompanying ‘Baobab Clincial Context and Model’ document for a detailed introduction. It often takes a significant amount of time to understand Baobab’s model of working, which aims for rehabilitation and justice through attending to both the internal and external world of each young. It is important that you strive to have an insight to the experiences of both the internal and external factors impacting on the lives of unaccompanied young people attending our centre. It is also important that you understand the ways in which UK society and policy impacts on young asylum seekers (including invisibility, marginalisation, discrimination, and the fact of waiting in uncertainty for a long time).
