This role combines expertise in safeguarding with collaboration across communities, clubs, and organisations. Acting as a trusted and proactive safeguarding presence, this role ensures that everyone engaging in physical activity experiences safe, inclusive, and equitable environments. The Safeguarding and Welfare Advisor will play a key role in strengthening existing safeguarding structures while building new opportunities for collaboration and best practice across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

What Does This Mean Day to Day?
- Collaborate with local clubs and organisations to strengthen safeguarding and welfare practices.
- Facilitate connections between community safeguarding officers, National Governing Bodies, and statutory services.
- Deliver training and guidance to Club Welfare Officers to ensure they are confident and well-equipped to fulfil their roles.
- Visit local clubs and events to raise safeguarding awareness among participants, parents/carers, and volunteers.

Role Summary

Role Details
This role primarily focuses on managing and supporting data within the fundraising operations. Key responsibilities include overseeing income data in the Raiser’s Edge CRM and assisting the Senior Data Officer with daily data management tasks. Additionally, you will support the Community and Events team by providing data-driven insights to guide fundraisers, as well as assist other fundraising functions. The Fundraising Operations Team is essential in ensuring effective data management and exceptional supporter care, contributing to maximizing Bliss' impact on babies.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Strong analytical abilities, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to use tools like Excel (including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables) to manage data effectively.
- Familiar with various fundraising techniques and the operational requirements of each, with experience in CRM systems such as Raiser’s Edge (preferable, but not essential).
- Able to work across multiple teams and adapt quickly to new environments, tasks, and challenges.
- Excellent administration skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Skilled in time management, prioritizing workloads, and maintaining effective internal and external relationships.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with an ability to communicate with empathy and professionalism.

What could my day look like?
The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.
In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.

About the Role
We are now recruiting for an experienced Director of Operations to play a crucial role in guiding our driven and committed team as we shift our culture and infrastructure, upholding our vision, mission, principles, and values.
The post holder will work with colleagues to develop, implement and review Hibiscus’s strategy and plans, particularly as they impact our operating and finance models. They will be responsible for developing and monitoring the annual business plan, reporting progress and providing reliable structural, financial and people management. They will support the CEO in building and instilling a sense of unity and purpose into the work of the organisation, and represent the operational work to the Board. They will be responsible for the efficient running of operations and central functions, conducting risk assessments, monitoring performance and reviewing procedures, with a particular focus on overseeing the effective financial management of the organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning and producing financial budgets for the organisation, alongside monitoring projects from start to finish, preparing costings for funding applications, agreeing contracts and grant terms, monitoring deliverables and co-ordinating timely reporting. They will oversee the production of quarterly management accounts and yearly finance audits, and communicate the financial landscape of the organisation to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Board. The Director of Operations will play a key role in risk and compliance, with a focus on data, safeguarding, policies and procedures, and legal and statutory requirements. They will work to increase the effectiveness of our operations, whilst supporting and contributing to the fundraising efforts of the organisation. A key element of the role will be to work to integrate our workplace culture into HR processes and procedures, modelling a fair and open management approach that ensures trusted relationships are embedded throughout the organisation.

You’ll bring your knowledge of employment law and HR expertise to provide the necessary support and guidance to our managers to navigate challenges and achieve success. With your analytical skills you’ll use data and insights to identify trends and root cause issues, as well as opportunities to mitigate risks and make improvements.
Building trusted partnerships with your aligned directorate across the Society, you’ll offer advice to your stakeholders on a wide range of people-related matters, including organisational change programmes and TUPE transfers. You’ll also play an essential role in supporting change leads and People Business Partners in ensuring that the Directorate objectives are met.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver a highly effective and people centred service to managers.
- Use data and insight to identify trends and root causes.
- Coach and develop people managers, building their knowledge and capability to mitigate employee relations risks and manage performance.
- Build trust-based relationships with managers across the Society, offering guidance as a critical friend when needed.
- Provide support and advice to employees in relation to terms and conditions, change programmes, Society policies and procedures and general employee relation related queries.
- Ensure roll out of people policy changes are understood and adopted by people managers across the Society.
About you
We’re looking for someone with strong experience of providing generalist advice to managers on all aspects of HR. You’ll use your coaching and influencing skills to foster excellent people practices. Your demonstrable knowledge of employment law and HR best practice will be a key element to your success in this role.
You’ll also have a good experience in supporting with change management and organisational design, including handling TUPE transfers. Your ability to analyse and interpret data will be essential as you draw out insights and deliver concise reports and presentations to a variety of stakeholders.

The Director of Policy, Advocacy and Influencing is part of the Senior Leadership Team at The Children's Society, a Senior Leader within the Youth Impact domain. The Youth Impact domain is where all of our service delivery for young people and a lot of systems change activity takes place.
The Director will lead our Policy, Advocacy and Influencing Knowledge Group - a team of people who work hard to influence government policy for the benefit of young people through astute public affairs and campaigning. Our charity has been campaigning for change for young people for years, we have an excellent track record, and have had a number of policy successes, reaching young people way beyond the boundaries of our charity. We work well in collaboration with other charities, especially children's charities - the role holder will lead our strategic partnerships and external coalitions to build our external presence and collaboration opportunities. The recently published impact report of the Children's Charities coalition is an excellent example of this. Maintaining a relentless focus on the external environment to ensure that the charity responds to sector developments and remains a strategic leader in the field will be an essential part of the role. Your ability to cultivate a rapid response culture to opportunities to achieve impact will be vital.
Our collaborative culture at The Children's Society means that this role holder will work very closely with colleagues who lead research, evaluation and impact activities. Our developing Impact Measurement Framework will form part of the work of the Director of Policy, Advocacy and Influencing - ensuring the impact of the team, and reach of The Children's Society is effectively captured and reported.
Integrated working with colleagues across our impact domain is essential, for example with those who lead on external communications and messaging, bringing together compelling evidence to drive change - in public awareness and attitudes, and in policies and systems - that can improve young people's lives. Policy, advocacy and influencing works to put young people's voice and experience at the centre of our thinking and outputs. Internal collaboration with our wide range of young people's services is essential and the Director will be required to work with other leaders in the organisation to expand this work.
This is a newly formed Director role that will an active member of our Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Executive Director of Youth Impact. It is a strategic, national role. With your energy, enthusiasm and passion to make a difference in young people's lives, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic policy approach, influencing government for the benefit of young people - through political influencing (public affairs and campaigning).
