About the Role

As Occupational Therapist you will provide occupational therapy assessment and treatment to survivors of acquired brain injury (ABI) who have been referred to the Headway East London services, as part of the Day Service in Haggerston or the Enfield community service. You will focus primarily on activity and participation issues. You will also provide advice, recommendations and training to Headway staff or external organisations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Please refer to job describtion for more information)

• Undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessment, treatment and evaluation of progress with individuals with complex neurological presentations as an autonomous practitioner, including the assessment of neurological impairment (including cognition, perception, upper limb impairment, and fatigue) as well as activity limitations and participation restrictions, using evidence-based tools and outcome measures, to ensure effective intervention.
• Negotiate goal-directed intervention with individuals and / or carers to establish a realistic person-centred treatment programme, and promote an individual’s choice and autonomy.
• Contribute to the development of, and run, a range of therapeutic groups offered at Headway and in Enfield to ensure they continue to meet the needs of members with support from the Technical Instructor and Therapy Manager.
• Maintain accurate and up to date documentation for all of caseload and provide written reports for external professionals such as GPs and case managers to meet professional and organisational demands.
• Assess and determine the need for assistive technology and / or adaptive environments to enhance an individual’s independence; making recommendations to individuals / carers and other staff / professionals, trialing and training individuals and carers in their use agencies to ensure the delivery of a co-ordinated service.

About the Project

Hertfordshire Mind Network is proud to provide early intervention support to children and young people experiencing poor mental health across Hertfordshire. We provide a combination of support through psychoeducational workshops, open access, 1:1 and group support.

We are expanding our provision, to offer drop in, open access community support to 10–18-year-olds across the county who need someone to talk to about their mental health in that moment. This space will offer timely support, in a person-centred, trauma informed way.

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s Herts Haven Café service are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of children and young people experiencing mental health issues, including crisis presentations, in Hertfordshire.
• To provide drop in, no referral required, timely support to 10-18 year olds.
• To support children and young people in Hertfordshire to access community based mental health help.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided across the CYP MHS system.

About the Role:

The key purpose of this post is to be an integral member of staff delivering the Herts Haven Café service, facilitating drop-in mental health support for children and young people aged 10-18. As a practitioner you will meet the varying needs of the individual, as they present, meaning no day may look the same.

A person-centred approach will be maintained, and this role is pivotal to ensuring CYP have a warm and welcoming space to turn to. You will be working as a team to facilitate support, deliver brief mental health interventions, signposting, and ensure timely information, guidance and referrals are provided for ongoing support.

• To play an integral role in instilling HMN’s values throughout the Herts Haven Cafe Service.
• To play a key part in the development and delivery of quality CYP mental health support services.

Great opportunity to make a difference for your patients with experience of domestic violence and abuse.  We are looking for a local, practising clinician (ideally a GP) with an interest in domestic violence and abuse (DVA) to become the Clinical Lead (CL) for the IRIS Programme in [name of IRIS area].  IRIS is an evidence-based domestic abuse training and referral programme developed specifically for general practice, currently being delivered across 30+ areas of England and Wales. 

About the Role

1 person with at least 3 available days and flexibility with those days or 2 part time clinicians sharing the role, but available on different days to each other so we can offer many options to general practices for training days.

The Iris CL post will be working with up to 50 GP Practices across that locality. The successful candidate will be required to attend the three day (remote) IRIS Train the Trainers course.

About You

We are looking for part time practicing clinicians with extensive knowledge of local needs and with links to local primary health care staff. The IRIS Clinical Lead role involves working closely with a specialist in domestic violence and abuse to promote the IRIS programme across the area, recruit practices, deliver in-house training at the practices, and act as a source of advice, guidance and support for clinical colleagues on the subject of DVA. The IRIS Clinical Lead will have an understanding of the gendered nature of violence and abuse, and of the impact of multiple, intersecting oppressions (e.g. sexism, racism, homophobia, ableism, etc) and the consequent barriers for some survivors of domestic abuse to accessing health and other services.

The role requires approximately 105 – 126 hours of time in this the first (set-up) year and approximately 46 – 65 hours in the second and subsequent years, at an hourly rate of £80  an hour. Please note that the number of hours required will not be evenly spread across the year, so a degree of flexibility will be required. Therefore, we are looking for people with flexibility in their time to be available to receive the IRIS training for trainers, attend local steering group meetings and promote and engage practices, especially early on in the programme. A large proportion of time will then be spent delivering the IRIS clinical training to local general practice teams. We do have funding for [insert number of months] months and this is a fixed envelope of funding for the role.

As the Peer to Peer Groupwork Facilitator you will set up, lead and deliver a year-long peer to peer group programme for bereaved families who have experienced the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or young child.

The groupwork is based on a programme led by Harvard University and Boston’s Children’s hospital and has structured sessions drawing upon psychological model of CBT, although the sessions are not therapeutic. Each session has a theme and incorporates education, guidance and support.

You will establish and deliver a new peer online support group, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery and creating a safe and welcoming space for bereaved families.

Outside the group sessions you will be responsible for managing the administration and evaluation of the service, including and collection of questionnaires and feedback required for reporting purposes and supporting members with any signposting requirements processing referrals, carrying out eligibility screening, monitoring the waiting list and inputting and keeping all database member and service records up to date.

It is a key time to be joining the charity and helping us to continue to save babies’ lives and support bereaved families. The charity has been hugely successful, but the work is far from done. The impact of the sudden death of a baby is wide and never goes away, as we know from the families that we support. This drives all our work, across each department. This role is an opportunity to work for Mind BLMK as part of the Milton Keynes NHS mental health service for someone with experience working in health, social care or information and advice, in direct contact with service users.

Working alongside colleagues from Central Northwest London Foundation Trust (CNWL) this role will provide referral management to and from Secondary Services. This will include signposting patients to statutory services including talking therapies and wider community based & voluntary sector support.

The Community Navigator will work as part of the team to deliver on the aims and objectives of the Mental Health Hub whilst representing the Voluntary and Community sector with the NHS.

Service Delivery

• Work within the NHS Mental Health SPA (Single Point of Access) Team to review and process referrals received from GP Practices and other sources including those to be subsequently triaged and assessed by mental health practitioners.
• Actively call patients with a view to assisting them through the process and making their onward appointments into community or secondary care service providers.
• Support the hub to signpost patients and direct them to appropriate services including secondary care, the local Voluntary and Community sector services and activities that support the patients’ wider determinates of their mental health and wellbeing.
• Answer calls, ensure sufficient phone cover, respond to messages/voicemails, provide administrative support to the Mental Health SPA for all services and deal with queries in a sensitive and timely way liaising with clinical or team lead as is appropriate.
• Monitor service inboxes during core office hours, responding to any queries professionally providing helpful information.
• Monitor and action tasks within SystmOne and maintain records of all activities carried out, i.e. outbound calls, calls received, archiving any received correspondence.
• Build good working relationships with the voluntary and community sector, relevant services and activities to ensure signposting pathways are kept up to date as well navigating and developing the setup of new signposting pathways through networking.
• Provide clinical and non-clinical information in appropriate chronological templates to other services.

Prospectus is delighted to be partnering Starlight, the national charity for children’s play in healthcare. Starlight supports children and their families to enjoy the power of play to help boost their wellbeing and resilience during treatment, care, and recovery from serious illness. Their mission is to enable all children in the UK to have their right to play protected and provided for when they are receiving healthcare – in or out of hospital. They are now looking to recruit a passionate Service Delivery Manager to lead their Health Play Services. This is initially a 6 month contract, whilst the current incumbent is seconded to another team internally.  

Working closely with their Head of Play Services, as Service Delivery Manager you will provide operational management to the Health Play team, leading on the end-to-end process of their Health Play services. You’ll work across all areas, from procurement through stock and budget control, to the logistics of delivery. You will also develop and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders including health professionals, suppliers and distributors to ensure the delivery of services is cost effective, high quality and fit for purpose.

To be considered for this role, you'll need to be experienced in the operational management of successful, direct service delivery (including logistics, procurement and stock control), and will have demonstrable line management experience. You’ll be skilled at developing relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders for the benefit of service provision, and will have a genuine passion for the impactful, incredible work that Starlight provides. Although not essential, insight and knowledge of working with the NHS is advantageous, as is previous experience of the children's, hospital or play sectors.

We are searching for a Peer Support Worker to join our Mental Health services. The role is a peer support worker, who would facilitate groups, and help us with the smooth running of Mind BLMK services. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the recovery journey needed to improve mental health and wellbeing.

Our peer support and recovery services are a key element of the services we offer, and we are looking for someone who can use their own lived experiences to provide support to help individuals achieve their goals. Service Delivery

• Facilitate Peer Support groups and ensure outcomes which support individuals
• with mental health and wellbeing needs and achieves the service’s KPIs.
• Support clients to access other services within Mind BLMK.
• Encourage and support client engagement with Mind BLMK through the influence and participation process, Guarantor Membership, and training opportunities.
• Identify and build good working relationships with Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, community groups, relevant services and activities for partnership work and signposting as well as keep updated information about them.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Mind BLMK team and relevant key post holders.
• Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).
• Carry out Cash Handling, Health and Safety and Data Collection responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures, requirements and guidance.

You will be required to supervise a team that provides holistic packages of support to adult service users, empowering them to move through the integrated recovery-oriented substance misuse service, increasing opportunities for service users to achieve sustainable treatment outcomes within Northallerton and its surrounding areas.  As directed by the Project Manager, the Lead Practitioner will be an integral member of this dynamic multi agency service.

Skills and Qualifications

• A relevant level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or higher.
• Experience supervising a team.
• An understanding of and ability to implement evidenced based interventions, including brief interventions MI, PSIs, CBT and ITEP.
• Experience of working with drug/alcohol users and delivering 1-2-1 and group evidence based interventions.
• Experience of completing service user assessments including comprehensive risk assessments.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required for this role.

Ataxia UK is looking for a skilled and dedicated Specialist Ataxia Nurse for our new community-based nursing service, focused on supporting individuals with ataxia in the South West of England. The role is a significant development in expanding access to expert and joined-up ataxia care for the ataxia community, particularly in regions currently underserved by neurologists with expertise in the ataxias. 

As a Specialist Ataxia Nurse, you will provide personalised, face-to-face, and remote support to patients, assisting them in navigating the NHS and social care systems. Your responsibilities will include supporting patients during medical appointments, coordinating essential therapies such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy, and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals to enhance understanding and treatment of ataxia. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of resources and information for the ataxia community. 

We are looking for an experienced nurse with a background in neurology or chronic disease management and a strong commitment to patient advocacy. The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator, capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Your role will be vital in ensuring that individuals with ataxia receive timely and appropriate care, helping them to manage their condition and maintain their quality of life.
