The role of Finance Manager

​The Finance Manager will oversee the finance operations and lead on the preparation of management accounts, budgets, funding requests and internal and external reporting. The Finance Manager plays a crucial role in helping the Board and leadership team understand their performance and their ability to deliver an ambitious growth plan over the next five years. This job presents a great opportunity for someone experienced with charity management accounting and reporting who has a keen eye for detail and process improvement and a desire to be part of a charity that’s only going to get bigger and more influential!  

Our ideal candidate will:

• Have significant experience with finance operations, management accounts, reporting and budgeting in a charity or NFP organisation
• Have a sound understanding of accounting practices, policies and Charity SORP
• Have experience supporting with the financial aspects of trust, grant and partnership applications

The Finance Manager is one of just 3 members of the Finance & Operations team including the COO and the Finance & Administration Officer. We’re looking for someone dynamic and driven who likes to work autonomously, solve problems pragmatically and plan and organise their time effectively.

Location

We have offices in London and Huddersfield which are easily accessible by road or public transport. We support hybrid working but attendance in one of the offices [dependent on your location] is required on an average of 1 day per week. Job Summary 

The purpose of this role is to bring additional operational capacity to new church plants and partnerships. This role will work across multiple partnerships on a fixed term basis to support the operational set up of new partnerships, and leading on operational improvements where there are existing processes. 

This role will be pivotal in establishing sustainable operational excellence, allowing ministry teams to undertake missional work. 

Job responsibilities 

• Support new church partnerships and plants for a fixed term to develop strong operational functions.

Join the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) as our E-learning Project Manager for the Radiology Integrated Training Initiative (R-ITI) — and help shape the future of radiology education across the UK and beyond.
We’re redeveloping one of the most respected radiology e-learning programmes in the world — R-ITI — and we need a driven, strategic and organised Project Manager to bring it to life.

In this 18-month fixed-term role, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of over 300 digital learning modules. You’ll collaborate with the Learning Development Manager, the Learning Technologist and the e-learning faculty comprising Subject Matter Experts (SMEs – who are doctors) while undertaking the project to relaunch these essential resources on our new Learning Management System (LMS).

You’ll not only be supporting radiologists in their professional development but you’ll also play a key role is helping ensure the offering is financially sustainable, enabling us to reinvest in growing our influence and impact globally.

What you’ll do 

• Oversee the entire life cycle of selected R-ITI modules marked for redevelopment, from establishing SME groups to review and update content, to working with learning technology colleagues to produce and publish them on time and within budget on RCR’s LMS. 
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals and objectives and provide support to the working groups whilst they redevelop the modules. 
• Develop detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation.
• Be responsible for overall quality control of newly developed content by working collaboratively with SMEs and learning technology colleagues to create accurate, engaging and effective e-learning content for our members. 
• Lead cross-functional teams consisting of SMEs, internal or externally sourced e-learning developers, designers, and quality assurance testers.
• Be the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing necessary support, troubleshooting queries and ensuring strategically sound decisions are made.

We are looking for an experienced Grants Commissioning Manager to join our Grants & Commissioning Team based in Portsmouth. The Policy and Engagement Manager is responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of the Society’s growing policy and engagement programme.

You Must Have:

About the Role

As Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager you will help promote positive mental health coping strategies and the overall wellbeing of clients through various practices that ultimately empower people to take control of their own mental health and wellbeing. 

You will take the lead on developing creative and innovative initiatives that contribute to positive mental health outcomes and personal wellbeing in every aspect of your work.  These initiatives will be based on the Endeavour principle of co-production where we will take an asset-based approach focussing on what is strong in people and the spaces and communities we operate in.

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced public affairs professional to join our small staff team to lead our public affairs activity and to grow the influence of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition. This is an exciting opportunity to influence positive change at a time of significant policy and political developments.

As Public Affairs Advisor, you will lead on the Coalition’s public affairs and influencing activity. You will be responsible for influencing the Government’s policy and legislative agenda relating to children and young people’s mental health, forging relationships with the new Parliament, and ensuring the Coalition’s views are heard across Westminster and Whitehall.

With over 370 members across the country, our Coalition has a significant potential to extend its influence. Many of our existing members are well placed to influence at a local level through working with their NHS Integrated Care Boards, councils and MPs, but do not always feel confident carrying out public affairs work. As Public Affairs Adviser, you will work with our members to upskill them to carry out their own influencing activity through a series of ‘Learning and Development’ workshops.

You will have Public Affairs experience of developing successful strategies to influence legislation or government policy, have strong knowledge of political systems and processes, have existing networks and contacts, and feel passionate about creating positive change for babies, children and young people.

This is a new role within the Coalition staff team and is generously supported by the Prudence Trust and the Hollick Family Foundation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of the Coalition’s parliamentary influencing strategy.
• Build and maintain relationships with Parliamentarians and other key stakeholders, such as civil servants and special advisers.
• Lead the Coalition’s engagement with Parliament and Government, ensuring strong systems are in place to capture and track engagement.
• Monitor and respond to political and legislative developments affecting our work, making recommendations for responses, and proactively seeking opportunities to further the Coalition’s objectives.
• Provide political intelligence to the staff team, Chair and our members, and help to prepare staff for parliamentary activity as appropriate.
• Produce high quality written briefings, reports and other materials that communicate our messages clearly and effectively to a parliamentary audience. This will also include contributing to other Coalition communications such as media responses, newsletters, blogs, and social media posts.
• Plan and deliver events aimed at political stakeholders, for example, parliamentary events and roundtables.
• Participate in collaborations with other charities for shared influencing activities, for example the Fund the Hubs campaign and the Future Minds campaign.  
• Support work on legislation as appropriate, including drafting amendments.

Working with members

• Regularly engage with members to understand their influencing priorities and to gather insight to help inform the Coalition’s wider influencing priorities.
• Connect Coalition members to decision makers and help spotlight their work, for example, helping to organise visits to services.
• Provide advice to members on engaging with their local decision-makers such as their local MP, Integrated Care Boards and Councillors.
• Deliver workshops with members to share information and skills related to influencing and public affairs activity. For example, this could include delivery of sessions on influencing local systems, working with the government, and legislative processes.  

General

• Work closely with the Coalition Lead, the Policy and Public Affairs Assistant, and Chair of the Coalition to develop and review priorities for the Coalition and support to drive these forwards. You will also be required to work closely with the staff at Centre for Mental Health.
• Support with the development and implementation of the Coalition’s work plan and projects.

HIV Peer Support Worker

About Trade

Trade Sexual Health (Trade for short) is a small health and wellbeing charity based in Leicester. We currently have seven staff and more than 40 volunteers.

Trade began as a grassroots gay community response to HIV in Leicester in the late 1980s. Throughout the 1990s, Trade worked in creative ways to spread information about sexual health and HIV prevention to gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men in the city (GBMSM).

Trade has been a registered charity since 2000. Over the last 25 years, the core of our work has been focused on improving the sexual health of gay and bisexual men across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. We have always taken a holistic approach to understanding and addressing the range of issues that might impact on gay and bisexual men’s capacity to look after their sexual health. As a result, we started a counselling service – Approach Counselling – to support community members to improve their mental wellbeing. We now draw on this experience to tackle wider health inequalities in relation to sexual health and HIV, and to provide peer support for anyone living with HIV in the areas where we work. For a small charity, Trade has always ‘punched above its weight’ and we have a national profile for the innovative sexual health work we do.

We currently hold contracts to deliver sexual health promotion and HIV prevention outreach in the City of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to LGBTQ+ people, asylum-seekers, and a range of racialised communities that experience significant inequalities in relation to their sexual health.

We have a history of providing peer support to people living with HIV and this is now becoming a growing strand of our work. In addition to the HIV Peer Support contract in Northamptonshire (which this post relates to), we expect to be delivering enhanced HIV peer support across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver first line peer support to people living with HIV, of all genders and backgrounds, in Northamptonshire. The postholder will spend most of their working week embedded within the HIV clinics in Northampton and Kettering. They will ensure that people who have been recently diagnosed, or are struggling with their diagnosis, and those re-engaging with their HIV care feel supported and have the information they need to live well and thrive with HIV.

The postholder will be responsible for:

· Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), bringing their own knowledge and experience to that work.

· Work with a small group of volunteer peer mentors from the clinics to support people living with HIV

· Help recruit new volunteers and ensure that patients needing ongoing peer mentoring are matched to the most suitable volunteer.

· Help people living with HIV to develop self-management strategies, deal with stigma, reduce social isolation and improve their wellbeing.

· Develop a catalogue of services, groups and support in the area where people can be signposted to for further wellbeing support either in addition to or instead of peer mentoring.

· Help people to stay engaged with their HIV treatment and care, improving antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence, and consequently ensuring ongoing viral suppression. 

Job Activities

The post-holder will:

· Normally spend at least one day a week in the HIV clinic at Kettering General Hospital and one day at Northampton General Hospital. Some travel to other sites may be required.

· Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) including nursing staff, doctors, clinical psychologists, and pharmacists within the HIV clinics, bringing their own knowledge and experience to that work.

· Triage new patients requiring peer support to understand what specific issues they are facing and the support they need.

· Work with a small group of volunteer peer mentors from the clinics to support people living with HIV. The volunteer peer mentors will be trained and managed by our partner organisation, Northamptonshire Carers, but the postholder will help recruit new volunteers in clinic, ensure that patients needing ongoing peer mentoring are matched to the most suitable volunteer, and help manage booking appointments between mentors and mentees.

· Help people living with HIV to develop self-management strategies, deal with stigma, reduce social isolation and improve their wellbeing.

· Help people to stay engaged with their HIV treatment and care, improving antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence, and consequently ensuring ongoing viral suppression. 

· Refer/signpost people into specialist services such as mental health services, drug and alcohol services, and services offering advice on housing, benefits and immigration issues.

· Support the eight standards listed in the British HIV Association Standards of Care for people living with HIV.

· Follow the National Standards in HIV Peer Support guidance and its four standards.

· Contribute to the development of innovative ways of delivering HIV peer support appropriate to the local context.

· Keep accurate, confidential and secure records of all peer support referrals and interactions.

· Contribute to the compilation of quarterly monitoring reports about our performance for the Integrated Care Board commissioning team for Northamptonshire.

If you are right for this role, you will be a committed, motivated, and outgoing individual who wants to support the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) of young people living in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, working in a partnership capacity as part of a holistic health and wellbeing programme. Your role will be multi-faceted, and you will therefore be flexible and able to offer a variety of SRH interventions in a broad range of settings, to a broad range of young people.

First, you will provide brief interventions in sexual health in an outreach capacity at schools, colleges, universities, leisure centres, youth organisations, and other venues. Here, your primary focus will be to provide basic information about SRH to young people, whilst also encouraging them to complete a Chlamydia screen and register to the free condom scheme. You will also promote online testing for those aged over 18, and connect young people with other local sexual health services through referral and signposting.

Second, you will deliver SRH and relationships training to groups of young people and professionals, in smaller workshop settings as well as to larger groups. You will be able to deliver accurate information on a variety of topics that are often sensitive and complex. You will have an existing knowledge base that you will be willing to expand and solidify through a combination of supported training and independent learning.

Third, you will facilitate offsite drop-in sexual health sessions and offer 1:1 sexual health support to young people who attend any of the four Young Greenwich youth groups. You and your team will each be responsible for attending the four Young Greenwich hubs once each week during evening hours, working closely with the youth group leader as well as the young people themselves to establish trusted relationships and an engaging programme of activity. You will be proactive and creative at integrating sexual health to other, ongoing activities, and ensure effective safeguarding.

Additionally, you will work closely with the wider SHO team, including supporting the sexual health phone lines processing screening results, and where necessary, signposting to relevant services. Across all aspects of your role, you promote local sexual health and contraception services to young people and adults alike, referring to in-person or online services as appropriate and handholding as much or as little as needed, particularly to those most vulnerable. You will keep accurate monitoring records for all interactions, referrals, Chlamydia screens, and C Card registrations / distributions. You will also contribute to quarterly service review reports.

This role requires flexibility, working unsociable hours in the evenings, and occasional weekends. Schedules may vary from week to week depending on programme need.

The Feelgood Factory is a community-led healthy living centre working in more deprived areas of Sefton to improve lives and promote health.

We are seeking a health and wellbeing mentor with a particular interest in helping people who are socially-isolated.  You will be part of the Sefton-wide Living Well Sefton service and will give support to members of the community who wish to make lifestyle changes to improve their wellbeing.  This is a chance really to make a difference.  The post will be part of a small team based in the Feelgood Factory and will provide opportunities to develop skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.​
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach.​
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective. ​
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.​

Line Management and training

• Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Be line managed by Resurgo to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.

Church Community

• The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by The Mount, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community.
• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
• Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.

Site management and set-up

• Work with the Church to set up the training room and IT infrastructure for the new Spear Centre in advance of opening.​
