About the role
We are looking for two Safeguarding Officers to join our Safeguarding Team at Macmillan. In this role you will be supporting Macmillan with our commitment to providing safeguarding support (both directly and indirectly), as well as developing support mechanisms and training promoting physical and psychological safety and wellbeing for users of our services, volunteers and our employees.
You will be an organisation wide expert on safeguarding & mental health issues with responsibility and accountability for developing, delivering, reporting on, and embedding general safeguarding, Mental Health and/or Suicide First Aid training and other relevant training sessions.
You will help provide safeguarding support to Macmillan during the operational hours of 8am - 8pm and an out of hours service between 8pm - 9pm Monday to Friday, and 8am-9pm weekends and bank holidays.
This role plays a crucial part in Macmillan’s development and delivery of its Reward and Wellbeing strategy as part of its wider People & Culture work. As part of our desire to further increase our impact of our safeguarding function across Macmillan, the successful applicant is expected to work a minimum of 2 days per week in our London Office. There may be a requirement on occasion for travel (in line with our expense policy) to other venues across the UK.
About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Recognised qualification in Safeguarding Adults and/or Child Protection or significant experience of working with vulnerable groups in a safeguarding capacity.
- Excellent working knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding theory and application, legislation and policy across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland
- Experience of developing and implementing Safeguarding strategies, policies, and training.
- Exceptional communication skills and experience of working in a confidential manner.
- Ability to travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
- Experience of delivering Mental Health First Aid and / or Suicide First Aid training would be beneficial

About the Lead HR Officer role
In this generalist role, you will focus on the recruitment and retention of talented staff by helping to foster a positive, inclusive and empowering working environment that shapes our organisational culture. You will play an integral part in shaping policies, championing best practice, managing employee relations and leading mental health and wellbeing initiatives.
As Lead HR Officer you will have both a strategic and operational focus, from incorporating EDI into our practices to providing specialist support and expertise in areas such as recruitment, performance management and employee relations. This role is also responsible for the line management of the HR Coordinator, and you will at times deputise for the Director of People and Culture at HR Group and Board of Trustee meetings.
About you
Qualified to CIPD level 5 and experienced in busy HR environments, you should be adept at providing advice and support, skilled in reviewing and developing policy, and familiar with leading wellbeing activities and other HR projects to successful conclusions.
Exposure to HR systems and databases such as NaturalHR and external resources including HR-inform would be beneficial, as would knowledge of payroll management, experience of standing in for more senior managers and a Mental Health First aid qualification. You should be passionate about the WI’s mission to transform women’s lives as well as a true ambassador for diversity, with outstanding problem-solving skills and a confident yet sensitive approach to delivering change.

CEO - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Income Generation & Financial Responsibility
Lead the development and execution of MOVE Against Cancer’s income generation strategy across a diverse range of funders, including trusts and foundations, business partnerships, individual and community fundraising. Create and manage a realistic, achievable annual budget, ensuring that all financial performance aligns with organisational goals. Monitor and report on the organisation’s financial performance, providing regular, accurate updates to the Trustees. Develop relationships with current and potential funders, reporting back on the impact of their donations and securing further financial support. Identify new opportunities to diversify and maximise income streams to support organisational growth, ensuring that the charity can meet its long-term goals. Oversee compliance with fundraising regulations, ensuring that all fundraising activities adhere to legal and ethical standards. Ensure monthly financial reporting and performance tracking, reviewing risks, and taking corrective actions as necessary.
Strategy
Lead the sustainable growth of MOVE Against Cancer, ensuring that the organisation adapts to the evolving landscape of cancer support and related sectors. Work with the Board to regularly review and refine the organisation’s strategy, ensuring it remains responsive to external changes and opportunities.
HR, Compliance & Infrastructure Management
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative, regulatory, and policy requirements, including health and safety, Charity Commission guidance, safeguarding, and fundraising regulations. Oversee data protection policies, ensuring that MOVE Against Cancer meets all General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and data privacy laws. Develop and review organisational policies and procedures at appropriate intervals to ensure best practices and compliance with regulations. Establish a continuous improvement framework, gathering feedback and data to guide the organisation’s strategic direction and operational excellence. Coordinate with senior leadership to ensure that all services meet or exceed the expectations of funders, partners, and beneficiaries.

Qualifications & Experience
Significant experience in growing and leading a charitable (or similar) organisation, with a proven track record of success in expanding reach and impact. Previous experience leading a charitable (or similar) organisation, including strategic planning, governance, and financial management. THE ROLE
At a time of unprecedented demand for our services at NEA we have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Training and Assessment Officer to work on a full-time basis, 37 hours per week, the contract is a 2-year fixed term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.
As part of NEA’s Development and Partnerships Directorate, you will report to NEA’s Training Programme Delivery Manager.
Acting as course tutor and examiner, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering NEA’s training courses and qualifications to a wide range of organisations, including local authorities, housing associations, voluntary and community groups, and commercial organisations across England and the wider UK. Our courses cover key issues associated with fuel poverty, fuel debt, affordable warmth, low carbon technologies and practical energy efficiency advice.
Our Training and Assessment Officers assist in the development of future assessment-based qualifications and have the ability to recognise new areas of opportunity; designing, developing and producing engaging and innovative training presentations and material as appropriate, for face-to-face and online delivery of current and future training and assessment products.
This role requires a relevant training or education qualification and recent demonstrable experience of delivering adult training. Ideally, you will also have experience or knowledge of fuel poverty, community development, debt or money advice, consumer issues and/or housing.
The post requires an element of flexibility as Training and Assessment Officers will on occasion be required to work outside of normal office hours and away from home; driving will sometimes be required.
This post provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to help the charity deliver its work programme as a major national provider of energy advice services whilst developing and working on projects that bring social benefits and improvements to the well-being of low income and vulnerable householders whilst also meeting environmental goals.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable experience of adult training delivery, course design and development, and hold a relevant training or education qualification.
The right candidate will be engaging with excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have sound presentation skills and a creative and structured approach to training delivery.
You will be highly organised, self-motivated and have the ability to work individually and collaboratively as part of a team.
It is important that the successful candidate shares NEA’s core values, and you should be able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims and objectives of NEA and the eradication of fuel poverty. Experience or knowledge of fuel poverty, community development, debt or money advice, consumer issues or housing is desirable.

WE ARE OFFERING
- £31,068 – £35,836 per annum (Points 18-25) plus London weighting of £3,300 if applicable. New appointments are usually made at the starting point of the scale.

About the Role
The primary focus of the Grants Officer is to support schools and youth organisations to operate the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme effectively and to promote, grow and deliver this and other Jack Petchey Foundation (JPF) grant programmes across London and Essex. Although the geographical remit of each Grants officer can change on occasion, it is anticipated that this role will be responsible for the London Boroughs across North West and South West London, plus uniform youth groups who deliver their activities cross-borough.
The Achievement Award scheme is JPF’s flagship programme, with almost 2000 schemes in over 1400 schools, colleges and youth organisations across London and Essex. Through the programme, we invest millions of pounds each year to support young people and youth work. This is an amazing chance for you to have a big impact.

This is a busy and satisfying role, with each Grants Officer leading relationships with between 350-400 organisations. You will be someone with great organisational skills and the ability to deal efficiently with regular grant applications, and with busy grant reporting periods twice a year.
Evening and weekend work is a requirement to meet the demands of this role, which on occasion can require up to 2-3 out of hours events in one week, depending on the event schedule. These are seasonal events, primarily during term-time and time off in lieu will be granted for additional hours worked.

Main Areas of Responsibilities
The Grants Officer will support schools and youth organisations to operate the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme.
The primary duties are:
1 To develop, manage and promote the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme and other JPF opportunities.
1.1. Identify schools and youth organisations not currently running the scheme and proactively promote the Achievement Award (AA) scheme to them, following up as required.
1.2 Receive, assess and process all grant applications to join the AA scheme, in accordance with JPF policies and procedures.
1.3 Attend, participate and assist with delivery of Achievement Award celebration events (usually evenings with some weekends), including making a speech to congratulate the young people.
2 Quality Assurance for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme
2.1 Develop relationships with and support schools, alternative provision, and youth organisations on the Jack Petchey Achievement Award (AA) scheme to operate the scheme to the highest possible standard.
2.2 Provide timely support to such organisations to enable them to run the AA scheme effectively.
2.3 Implement a strategic approach to conducting face-to-face and digital assessment and monitoring visits to schools and youth organisations in your area on the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme, to ensure that JPF funding is well spent and to identify opportunities to improve delivery.
2.4 Organise and deliver digital and in-person training and/or sessions to support schools and youth organisations to operate the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme effectively.
3 Administer the Jack Petchey Foundation grant making process
3.1 Ensure accurate records are kept on the Foundation’s database (Salesforce), including up-to-date contact details and records of communication with groups in receipt of or applying for grants.
3.2 Approve/authorise payment of AA grants and related programmes in accordance with JPF policies.

4.3 Support and promote JPF’s partnership programmes to organisations on the Achievement Award Scheme, for example the Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge, Step into Dance, Panathlon and First Give.
4.4 Assist with digital and face-to-face monitoring and reporting in relation to groups that have received a JPF Project Grant or other JPF funding. To promote the wider work of the Jack Petchey Foundation to schools and youth groups
5 Other Responsibilities
5.1 Actively contribute to Grants Team and JPF Team meetings.

Our Asset Management Team are currently seeking a Building Safety and Compliance Officer that will play a key role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our buildings.
As a Building Safety and Compliance Officer you will be reviewing Hightown’s properties and carrying out any necessary risk assessments by way of physically inspecting the properties.

SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. Title: Operations Officer
Location: Coram’s Fields, 93 Guilford Street, London, WC1N 1DN
Responsible to: Chief Operating Officer Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum (subject to experience)
Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 35 hours per week (includes some evening and weekend work)

Role Summary
Coram’s Fields is a unique charity in the heart of Bloomsbury, London. In addition to our iconic 7-acre child-friendly park, we run a variety of services and enrichment programmes to support local young people and their families, including a nursery, an after-school and holiday club, a drop-in centre for parents of under-5s, a vibrant youth centre and a sports programme. We proactively host a wide variety of community events and celebrations, and our facilities are available for private hire to generate income for the charity.
The Operations Officer role is an integral part of the central team with responsibility for procedures, systems that support the effective, efficient, and compliant running of our seven-acre site, services, park events and oversight of income streams. It is an exciting and highly collaborative role offering a fantastic opportunity to combine effective communication and organisational skills with a passion for helping young people and a desire to develop commercial and business development experience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
General operations, processes and systems
- You will be responsible for the oversight and continuous improvement of organisational procedures including IT, GDPR, Health and Safety, Fire Evacuation, incident management.
- You will be responsible for briefing staff across the charity in the use of these procedures and working with the Office and HR Manager to arrange training for staff where necessary.
- You will be responsible for improving existing office systems and identifying opportunities to develop new systems and processes to enable people to work more collaboratively, efficiently, and effectively.
- You will be responsible for ensuring that organisational procedures are documented and accessible on the internal SharePoint.
- You will be responsible for developing and overseeing a new volunteer infrastructure for the charity, working with teams across the organisation to deliver a consistently high-quality volunteer experience for all with standard recruitment, induction, and on-going oversight procedures.
Events and project management
- You will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing a diverse and inclusive programme of park events, making the park an interesting and vibrant place to visit, encouraging the community to gather and socialise, and generating income to support the work of the charity.
- You will have responsibility for working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure each event is well-planned, managed safely and compliantly with all regulations and laws, and executed successfully within budget.
- You will work with the CEO, COO and Buildings and Facilities Manager to support capital projects, liaising with external stakeholders, contractors and the Local Authority to ensure the effective operation of the site. Commercial Operations
- You will operationally oversee our facility-hire income (halls, sports facilities, and grounds) and be responsible for: – ensuring necessary contracts, waivers, and legal/statutory documents are completed – executing effective marketing and promotions, and creating high quality promotional content for our website and social media – regularly reviewing fees in relation to the hire of our facilities and making recommendations for changes to these – understanding and improving the utilisation of facilities – supporting the COO to develop and grow partnerships with local organisations and schools – improving the efficiency of our booking systems/processes and overall user experience
- You will be responsible for identifying new (temporary and permanent) opportunities and third party partnerships to bring new experiences, enjoyment and enrichment to local young people while also generating income for the charity.
- You will work closely with our Café Manager to grow the profile and income generated by our cafe through improved park signage and park visitor experience initiatives, and integration of the café into the hall and sports hire customer journeys.
Other
- You will be expected to undertake personal development and training where required or beneficial for the role, and to attend regular supervision and appraisal sessions.
- To undertake any task that may be request from time to time by the CEO or Board of Trustees, as may be consistent with the nature and scope of this post.
