Buckinghamshire Mind is part of a network of over 100 Local Minds, which provide trusted and innovative mental health services to their communities. The charity provides services that promote wellbeing and recovery;  prevent mental ill health, offer talking therapies and provide support in times of crisis.

This is a permanent, part-time (30 hours) role paying a salary of £50,000 FTE per annum. The role is hybrid  from their offices in High Wycombe. 

As a pivotal, newly created role for Buckinghamshire Mind the Head of Income Generation and Communications will be a member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to the strategic direction and operational management of the charity. In addition to Buckinghamshire, this also includes their services in East Berkshire – as part of their Mind in Berkshire partnership with Oxfordshire Mind.

In this role, leading a small team, you will develop, implement, and monitor the fundraising strategy, introducing new initiatives to diversify and generate income. You will also oversee the delivery of the communications strategy. You will be innovative in your approach and have a passion to see Buckinghamshire Mind, and Mind in Berkshire, expand their portfolios of mental health services to fulfil the mission of ‘a mentally healthy society’.

They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of leading and delivering on income generation and associated activities such as fundraising, corporate engagement, marketing, networking, and relationship management. You will have proven experience in leading on external communications (including digital), developing campaigns to generate donations/corporate giving and associated activities such as public relations.

The position:

Scleroderma & Raynaud’s UK (SRUK) is the only charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by Scleroderma and/or Raynaud’s. They exist to improve awareness and understanding of these conditions, to support those affected, and ultimately to find a cure.

SRUK are scaling up to enable them to deliver a significant increase in the level of investment for research so that people affected by Scleroderma or Raynaud’s have access to the most relevant treatment, information and support. As Head of Research & Information, you will play a key role in delivering an ambitious research strategy to achieve life changing results for people with Scleroderma and Raynaud’s, working closely with those affected and the medical and scientific community.

Working with the Chief Executive the Head of Research & Information will:

• Lead the delivery & further development of SRUK’s research strategy, including delivery of two ambitious data-centric projects – the Patient Registry and the Raynaud’s App
• Proactively identify new strategic research & funding opportunities
• Oversee the delivery of the research grant process and manage the Research Grants Committee.
• Oversee the development and delivery of SRUK’s portfolio of information and support for the Raynaud’s and Scleroderma community.
• Be a source of scientific expertise for the organisation. Develop SRUK in accordance with its constitutional and statutory obligations, financial framework, code of conduct and best practice.
• Report regularly to the Chief Executive on the progress of SRUK’s work and to act as a member of the SRUK’s senior management team.

Requirements:

• Qualified to PhD level or equivalent post-graduate qualification, you will have proven experience of biomedical and/or epidemiological research.
• You can demonstrate a clear understanding of the research grant funding process.
• You have excellent communication skills.
• You have the ability to build successful strategic partnerships across healthcare, health-tech and/or research sectors.

St Marylebone Parish Church is a monumental Grade 1- listed building and a place of active and engaged Christian witness that has been creating, naming and shaping community for almost 1,000 years.

As Head of Finance and Operations you will lead the lay staff team and help establish and deliver a strong strategic vision for the parish church through providing strong leadership to the finance, administration and operations of the parish church day-to-day.

The Organisation:

Today’s parish church – the fourth to have served the parish – is not only home to a diverse worshipping congregation, but to a flourishing Centre for Psychotherapy and a long-established innovative NHS Primary Care Practice. The key duties of this Head of Finance & Operations are as follows:

• Lead on the development and execution of financial strategy, financial planning, budgeting and cost control.
• Ensure that resources (money, people and property) are managed effectively and efficiently in support of the strategy, aims and objectives of the parish church.
• Manage the running of financial operations including the preparation of management accounts, cash flow forecasts, out-sourced payroll, tax returns, creditor payments and investments.
• Manage budgeting and planning processes, providing all appropriate financial data, and supporting budget-holding staff in all areas.
• Manage the preparation of statutory accounts and be the main contact with external auditors.
• Work with building and maintenance team to ensure that St. Marylebone’s parish church is well maintained, preserved and presented.
• Manage the administration associated with the PCC, monitoring actions and helping to prepare meeting agendas.
• Work with HR to lead the personnel function for all PCC employees.
• Support the Heritage, Events and Volunteer Manager in their efforts to bring in more and different visitors to the parish church.
• Work with the Building Manager to ensure that Health and Safety matters and security are managed effectively.
• Work closely with the Technology and Operations Manager to ensure that the IT, AV and other systems serving the parish church operate effectively.
• Work with the Community & Development Manager, to support fundraising activities.

The successful candidate will have:

• A full accountancy qualification, or equivalent qualification by experience.
• Previous experience within a Cathedral, Major Parish Church or elsewhere in the charity sector.
• Expert understanding and knowledge of SORP.
• Experience in budgeting and cost control, including provision of reports and analysis to an audience with different levels of financial literacy.
• Experience in managing and motivating teams.
• Confident financial leadership skills, capable of directing financial strategy and delivering highest quality financial management.
• Empathy and excitement for the parish church’s purpose, vision and priorities.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact, and the Charity’s expert, for all new fundraising offers and initiatives to ensure that, before accepting them, such offers are appropriate for the hospital’s capital planning requirements, risk profile and public relations protocols.
• To develop the Trust Charity brand and corporate experience so that the charity becomes the preferred partner of choice for the donor community.
• To design, implement and manage capital and revenue appeals in support of major charity build projects to agreed income and activity targets, in association with appointed consultants.
• To ensure all activities are conducted in full compliance with charity law, fundraising legislation and best practice, data protection and compliance, adding value to and enhancing the Trust Charity brand.      
• Review and maintain appropriate fundraising policies and protocols which conform to the requirements of the hospital’s internal and external auditors, charity law, data protection and the Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Conduct.
• Act as key point of contact for NHS charities together, maintaining accurate contact details for the trust and ongoing membership.
• Build and maintain relationships with Charity leads in neighbouring trusts and other NHS organisations.
• To develop a Trust Charity communications plan, which involves both internal and external communications to facilitate the efficient working of the Charity, utilising all media to further develop the Trust Charity brand.

Role Description

The Racial Equity Programme Lead will be part of our talented, agile and welcoming team of 7. This is a newly established role that will be managed by the Programmes Director, and work closely with the CEO, the wider organisation and those involved in this programme, including expert collaborators, partners and a steering group. There are no line management responsibilities.

The key responsibilities of the role are to:

● Offer valuable insights and learning from the Leadership Lighthouses programme and support their integration to       ensure our organisation's work remains inclusive and impactful.

● Lead and manage the Leadership Lighthouses programme, with a collaborative approach, building strong relationships with partners and participants, actively listening and responding to their needs.

● Ensure effective deployment of resources to achieve the programme objectives and targets.

● Design and implement robust management processes to ensure good governance and successful project outcomes.

Terms and working hours

Reporting directly to the Academic Dean, the Head of Applied Theology will be responsible for the development, delivery and management of the Vocational and HE Programmes for Chaplaincy and Spiritual Formation, in addition to other programmes developed under this faculty, maintaining a standard of excellence across the full range of service and product delivery.

MA Spiritual Formation Programme Key Tasks

- To be responsible for the structure, delivery and management of the Spiritual Formation programme. Responsibilities include:
- Lead the Spiritual Formation Programme, reviewing, maintaining and developing the programme;
- Act as link tutor to the Universities in accordance with their guidance on Link Tutor responsibilities;
- Maintain the integrity and ethos of the Waverley Integrative Framework o Assist Waverley Abbey College as required in its annual budget process, keeping spending commitments in line with Waverley Abbey College’s agreed budget;
- Establish and maintain fair systems for student assessments, including:
- Initial selection of students, taking due account of standards and admission procedures;
- Maintaining standards in grading; and
- Ensuring tutorial support and oversight of students’ personal development.
- To support, encourage, develop and manage the tutorial team for Spiritual Formation, assisting tutors to deliver courses to the highest standard. Responsibilities include:
- selection of Module Leaders and team tutors, in consultation with the Academic Dean & Vice Principal;
- selection of other associates (visiting lecturers, retreat leaders); and
