About the role:

We are looking to appoint a self-motivated, proactive and excellent communicator to help our major donors achieve their philanthropic goals through their relationship with Rainbow Trust.

Reporting to the Major Donor and Trusts Manager, this newly created role, in our expanding team, will help manage and cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals as part of our major gift programme. The Major Gifts Fundraiser will be responsible for reaching new donors and increasing sustainable income growth, contributing to driving our key fundraising campaigns and events, and will also manage a small portfolio of donors.

With our growth plans, this is an exciting time to join the team and raise funds to support seriously ill children and their families. Whilst previous experience of fundraising or working with high-net-worth individuals would be useful, it is not essential as this role will provide an opportunity to develop fundraising, research and communication skills.

The role:

This is a key role within the Executive Leadership team, with accountability for Finance, Procurement and IT at the Globe. You will work collaboratively with the CEO and Executive leadership team to drive strong business as usual delivery, and provide provide balanced insight to Executive Leadership Team and the Senior Leadership Group so that they can take responsibility for questioning routines and rituals, and for streamlining processes that improve efficiency.

The Finance Director is the lead on the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) and is a key part of other relevant committees. You will also attend and report at Board meetings, developing strong working relationships with Board members, the Artistic Director, Executive Leadership members, members of the Senior Leadership Group (SLG), the Finance and Procurement team, the Globe’s IT contractor, and colleagues throughout the Globe.

The skills:

· Chartered Accountant.

· Extensive Director level business experience in a complex organisation.

· Demonstrable experience in managing contracts.

· Experience within the charities sector including understanding of the relevant accounting, taxation and other regulatory requirements this presents.

Hours: 37.5 per week.

Work pattern: Usually Monday to Friday working during office hours with occasional weekends and out of hours work, however we do operate very flexibly.

• Finance Leadership: Be the architect of and execute a strategic vision for the charity's financial growth and long-term sustainability, ensuring resilience in financial operations.
• Risk Management: Lead and drive the strategic management of risk within the Charity, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in risk practices.
• Health, Safety, and Safeguarding: Promote and ensure a culture of excellence in Health and Safety and Safeguarding practices, maintaining the highest standards across the charity

Key Responsibilities

Executive leadership and strategic contribution

Financial strategy and governance

Risk management and mitigation

• Lead the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide risk management framework that identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks across all operations.

• Ensure that the charity adheres to all relevant health and safety regulations, creating and maintaining a safe working environment for staff, volunteers, and visitors.

Leadership and team development

• Lead, manage, and inspire the Charity Support Services team, ensuring a high level of collaboration and providing the resources needed for effective performance.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the professional development of staff and encouraging innovative problem-solving.

Stakeholder management and reporting

• Engage with the Board of Trustees and external stakeholders on matters relating to financial performance and risk management.
• Provide regular reports to the Board, senior leadership, and key stakeholders on financial status, risk assessments, and performance against strategic goals.

Person Specification:

Education:

• Essential: A recognised accountancy qualification (preferably ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Desirable: Management/leadership qualification or significant professional experience at a senior level in the charity sector.

Experience and knowledge:

Essential:

o A minimum of three years' experience in a senior management or leadership role.

o Proven track record of managing finance for a medium to large charity.

o Experience as a member of a Senior Management Team, contributing to strategic decision-making and organisational leadership.

o Expertise in financial management, including producing management accounts and monitoring cash flow for organisations with an annual turnover exceeding £2 million.

o Experience in business planning and long-term financial forecasting to support strategic goals.

o Strong experience in team management, including motivating staff and overseeing performance to drive high levels of engagement.

o Demonstrable experience of managing budgets, safeguarding processes, and risk management.

Established in 2002, Greenhouse Sports charity is leading the fight for a future where young people are supported and empowered, whatever their challenges, through sport. We coach and mentor young people from deprived backgrounds because the crisis for children living in deprivation is real and it is urgent. Summary

The Human Resources department provides a strategic and operational HR service to the seven National Church Institutions (NCIs) and the 42 Diocesan Bishops' offices. Our HR Operations team focusses on the entire employee lifecycle providing support, advice and guidance to senior leaders, line managers and staff. The Organisational Development team lead on culture, values, wellbeing, development and our belonging & inclusion strategy. Through our External Service team, we also offer HR support on a consultancy basis to other Church of England organisations including our dioceses and cathedrals.

The NCIs comprises a wide variety of functions and professions to support the mission and ministries of the Church by working with those who serve in parishes, dioceses, schools and other ministries, and with partners at a national and international level.

• Reviewing risk assessments that have been completed by staff and line managers, requesting additional information, and advising on risk mitigation;
• Supporting requests for adjustments and additional equipment may be required, including requests for Access to Work funding, liaising with Facilities and Technology Services as required;
• Supporting the Head of Health & Safety in reviewing accidents and incidents that occur across NCI sites or involve colleagues in the course of their work;
• Advising staff travelling overseas on potential risks;
• Managing the lone worker safety devices used by the NCIs;
• Administering our Health Cash Plan scheme;
• Day to day administration of our Health & Safety reporting system;
• Assisting in the preparation of Health & Safety reports e.g., the Joint Staff Council and Health and Safety forum.

As an adviser within the HR Operations team, you will also get involved in responding to other types of HR queries via email, phone and Teams chat, and supporting colleagues in using our Oracle Employee and Manager self-service.

This is a hybrid working role which can be based in our offices in either York or London. We typically work from the office at least one day per week, and remote for the remainder of the time. Visits to other NCI work locations may also be required from time to time.

You'll need previous experience of advising on and reviewing health and safety risks, including Display Screen Equipment, lone working and overseas travel with, or working towards, a recognised Health & Safety certificate (e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent).

We're looking for someone who has:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with accuracy and attention to detail including with numerical data. You will need to be able to communicate clearly to stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
• An enthusiastic and highly organised approach to work, with the ability to understand and process high volumes of information. You will need to be able to work comfortably with competing priorities and show flexibility in your approach to customers to understand differing expectations.

An interest in and willingness to learn broader HR policies and processes. Experience in HR in addition to Health & Safety would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a prospect pipeline providing Trusts and Corporate fundraisers and the Major Donor programme with the required number and level of prospects to meet the team's objectives and financial targets by using different tools to support you, including gift table.
• Carry out due diligence on donors and prospects to ensure donations are accepted in accordance with our Ethical and Major Giving Policy.

Support the team’s up to date understanding of GDPR and consent recording on the database and associated processes.

Requirements:

• Experience of researching high net worth individuals, company Directors, and/or family Trust and Foundations Boards identifying capacity, propensity and affinity to the cause. 
• Ability to gather information from the public domain in accordance with GDPR, Data protection regulation, IoF and charity law. 
• Experience of producing accurate, unbiased, concise snapshot research as well as more in-depth research profiles detailed reports, network mapping and analysis on donors and prospects. 
• Knowledge and commitment to our aims, mission and values is desired. 
• Strong understanding of due diligence, data protection and the latest GDPR and ICO updates is desired.

About the role

We’re looking to recruit an economist to join our Policy Solutions Team, to lead our new flagship project: “Future Fit for a Just Transition”, a central part of our partnership funded with KPMG.  Driving forward a just transition to a net zero, nature positive economy and financial system is a key priority in our strategy, and this programme will play a central role in the delivery of our objectives in this area.  It will focus on international implementation of the transition, identifying best practices and challenges faced in different countries to facilitate shared learning, promote healthy competition, identify collaborative solutions, and hence speed up implementation. 

You will be responsible for leading the methodological development and delivery of the technical work underpinning the programme, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. This will include scoping out and developing economic metrics of national level progress on the just transition to a net zero, nature positive economy, developing compelling and impactful knowledge products and undertaking international engagement on the findings.

You will lead research, compile data, produce reports, documents and briefings as well as commission and manage consultants as needed. You will both develop the content  and deliver the Flagship report, and use it to make the case for action and implementation to key stakeholders on proposed policy changes. You will also build links and strategic relationships with other organisations and other parts of the WWF global Network to promote and disseminate the work. Important will be the ability to create and provide diverse, relevant and impactful ideas for policy, and to involve communities affected by climate and nature loss in the process of policy development.

We’re looking for someone with:

· An understanding of how policy is influenced, both inside and outside Government.

· Experience of influencing key stakeholders including in government and the business community, changing opinions, practices and creating new models to deliver policy change and business transition.

· A degree level qualification in economics or relevant work experience in economic policy and analysis.

· Experienced researcher and commissioner of research, with experience of using economic analysis and quantitative methodologies, demonstrated by using evidence to analyse problems and come up with solutions.

· Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.

The Role 

5Rights Foundation is seeking a dynamic and skilled Communications Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a central role in managing external communications, strengthening our media presence, and ensuring our messaging aligns with the organisation’s pioneering and ambitious global advocacy objectives. This role offers the opportunity to deliver practical change for children, as part of a small organisation with a strong track record of changing narratives, setting the agenda and bringing together both the expertise and the public support to get policy over the line.

Reporting to the Head of Communications and working closely with the 5Rights Advocacy and Operations teams, the Communications Officer will be responsible for crafting compelling content (such as articles, social media posts and press releases), liaising with journalists, and enhancing our brand visibility across multiple platforms. The position is fast paced, requiring a proactive mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. We offer an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of a permanent role. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Monitor news cycles and digital trends to identify risks and opportunities. 

• Track media coverage and maintain an up-to-date press contact database. 

• Manage 5Rights’ website and social media platforms, ensuring consistent messaging. 

• Develop impactful content, including audiovisual assets, articles and press releases. 

• Manage the design and dissemination of 5Rights’ monthly newsletter.

• Support the design and execution of communications campaigns, both independently and with coalition partners. 

• Assist in the planning, promotion and execution of events. 

• Support internal coordination to align communications with advocacy goals. 

ESSENTIAL skills and attributes 

• A degree in communication, journalism or equivalent. 

• At least 2 years of professional experience in communications, journalism, or a related field. 

• Excellent writing, messaging and presentation skills, with a strong ability to engage press and public audiences. 

• A solid understanding of traditional and digital media landscapes. 

• Experience managing social media channels and developing effective engagement strategies. 

• Experience in the creation of social media content (video and static graphics), and marketing materials using graphic design software such as Canva or InDesign. 

• Familiarity with Mailchimp and experience with content management systems (WordPress); knowledge of SEO best practices is a plus. 

• A proactive, can-do attitude and solution-oriented mindset, backed by strong strategic thinking skills and project management abilities.
