The role
A key role in our Research team, the Research Projects Manager will be responsible for developing and managing our research projects and grants programme, in alignment with our new research strategy. As part of this, you will manage our genomics programme of research, which includes an exciting multi-stakeholder, international project, designed to understand barriers and opportunities to use of whole genome sequencing in low- and middle-income countries.
This role reports to the Director of Research.
Responsibilities
Research project management
- Manage our internally driven research projects including scoping, planning, designing, budgeting and reporting on activity to internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with research partners and funders on research project development and activity.
- Connect research projects to colleagues working on related activities in Insights and Policy, and Communications and Engagement.
- Brief Fundraising teams on research projects and progress.
Research grants
- Project Manage the launch of grants rounds and co-ordination of peer review procedures, in alignment with the UK Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) requirements.
- Lead on the development and maintenance of all application, peer review and grant management procedures.
- Project Manage administering post award processing, monitoring, reporting and governance of successful grant applications.
Research collaboration
- Support the Director of Research to identify and respond to relevant meningitis research consultations in the UK and internationally.
- Work with Director of Research to identify, monitor and respond to developments in the UK and international research funding environment and help draft grant applications.
- Collaborate with Health Insights and Policy colleagues, to enable research to inform MRF’s policy positions.
Research strategy
- In collaboration with the Head of Research, support implementation of our research strategy.
Build an approach to strengthen involvement of those with lived experience in research
- Identify and develop opportunities for those with lived experience with MRF funded and externally funded research
- Work with the Director of Research to develop a Patient and Public Involvement strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
- A degree in relevant biomedical science or equivalent.
- Previous experience of performing peer review and grant management, ideally in line with Association of Medical Research Charity (AMRC) requirements.
- Strong knowledge of UK research funding environment.
- Demonstrable management skills or a professional project management qualification.
- Project Budget management experience.

Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Research to lead our research initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in infectious diseases, a strong background in biomedical research, international collaboration and a proven track record of managing and leading research projects. This is a key leadership role that will drive our efforts to prevent and cure meningitis and septicaemia through innovative research and collaboration. Initially managing a small team, the Director will lead on growing the team to support the new research strategy launching in 2025.
This role will report directly in to the charities CEO.
Lead responsibilities
- Strategy – development and implementation.
- Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) accredited grant awards and management process including research funding rounds; grant awards; grant management and all aspects of reporting for the research portfolio and impact of projects funded by MRF.
- Recruitment, development and management of MRFs Scientific Advisory Panel and their participation in the grant awards process.

- Responding to external consultations that are focused on research and the research environment with relevance to meningitis.
- Represent MRF on relevant sector bodies and working groups; present to high level external stakeholders about our work; represent beneficiaries of our work to various bodies including national and international health bodies; industry; researchers, public health officials and civil society representatives; deputising for CEO as required.

The Role
Koreo is looking for a Senior Business Development and Partnerships Manager to drive growth across our programmes, particularly Charityworks and 2027. These programmes aim to create a more diverse social change sector by placing young people from across the UK in 12-month work placements with nonprofit organisations, also known as host organisations. Alongside their work placements, participants take part in a year-long, ILM-certified leadership and development programme designed to accelerate their impact and future potential.
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual who thrives in a hands-on sales and relationship management role. This person will be responsible for securing work placements for our candidates by engaging with both new and existing host organisations across the nonprofit and grant-making sectors. Main duties of the job

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
General
- In consultation with the Charity Director and Head of Fundraising and Communications, develop and lead a strategy for major gifts and legacies.
- Work to agreed financial targets and KPIs across existing income streams.
- To lead on the development of major gifts, legacy and grants fundraising. To continually research, cultivate and develop strong relationships with these prospects.
- Support the Director and Head of Fundraising to ensure that a donor-centric approach is at the core of all activity and that high standards are developed and maintained throughout the Charity team.
- Provide the Director, Head of Fundraising and Communications and all team colleagues with detailed updates through regular team reports.
- Ensure that all cash handling, banking, donor acknowledgement and receipts are kept in accordance with charity best practice.
- Keep up to date on all new governance regulations issued by the Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator and Information Commissioner’s Office.

Major Donors
- Lead on planning and delivery of a programme of philanthropic support from major gifts.
- Write detailed case for supports and proposals to encourage major gifts from our current donor pool and new prospects.

Legacy fundraising

- Lead on planning and delivery of a strategic grants programme from charitable trusts and foundations.

Our research has highlighted the lag faced by the community sector in its transition to net zero – no longer burning fossil fuels – compared to the domestic housing sector. Key responsibilities
1. To co-create and implement an effective community engagement strategy for the new Heat Development Company involving the three existing grantees on the programme, in particular giving consideration to the ways in which the Heat DevCo’s new investees can best work with local residents to make the case for electrification. To be the first point of contact for the pioneer grantees, and for the programme’s first set of development sites, ensuring that excellent communications are designed and implemented, and that questions and concerns are answered in a timely and informed way.
2. To manage any community consultants engaged as part of the programme, or working with project management partners.
3.To coordinate regular stakeholder engagement with key interest groups: grantees & investees and their communities, the social sector, and the decentralised energy sector. To be creative in developing these contacts, and to consider new and innovative ways of carrying out outreach and ongoing engagement reflecting the differential impact of analogue and digital methods of engagement, their reach into communities, and their replicability and cost.
4. To lead on qualitative research on decarbonisation and electrification for the Heat DevCo, in particular to support the Deputy CEO and research and data team in exploring the potential of heat as a common pool resource.
5. To work closely with the policy and communications team to ensure that stakeholder engagement reflects SIB’s policy priorities on decarbonisation and electrification, and that feedback from stakeholders is reflected in policy and communication outputs. To support the policy and communications team in its development of new policy and communication assets, and to work with the data team to incorporate the best evidence into outputs across SIB’s platforms. To work with external groups on the best approach to public information campaigns on electrification, and to ensure that SIB has a voice in wider efforts to encourage electrification in the UK.
6. To develop a calendar of useful events in heating decarbonisation and electrification, to attend relevant events or conferences and to ensure that the senior team prioritise the best set of opportunities to raise SIB’s profile and progress leads and partnerships. Through attendance to present the Heat Development Company, answering questions and reporting key feedback, ensuring that internal development work effectively reflects a wide set of views and experiences. To be an accessible and responsive contact point for SIB’s work on heat decarbonisation, taking a creative and inclusive approach to outreach and information sharing.
7. To support the coordination and project management of business development in community energy, heating and cooling, social investment fundraising and capacity building, supporting Business Development colleagues with relevant case studies, customer viewpoints and grassroots experience.
8. To provide regular and timely updates on the development of opportunities in heat decarbonisation and electrification to the senior team. These updates should both support effective information sharing across the organisation, and, in particular, reflect the grassroots and community perspective. This should enable SIB to make the best use of its resources and pursue its strategic priorities in an inclusive and accessible way.
9. To contribute to high quality bid responses for invitations to tender from funders, investors and other key client groups in heating, community energy, decarbonisation and electrification, to ensure that these are well-written and represent stakeholder and grassroots viewpoints.

The Open Wing Alliance (OWA), a program of The Humane League, is a global coalition of approximately 90 animal protection organizations across 70+ countries united in a common goal: to end the abuse of chickens worldwide. For the past several years, we have focused our efforts on eliminating battery cages by securing cage-free policies from major retailers, restaurants, and manufacturers. OWA groups share tactics and resources to secure as many wins for animals as possible, specializing in institutional campaigning that can be tailored to our members’ unique circumstances and challenges.
As the Open Wing Alliance Grant Lead, you are accountable for overseeing the OWA’s grant and travel award programs, which provide funding to emerging farm animal protection groups around the world, empowering them to carry out cage-free and broiler campaign work. Your responsibilities include leading the grant application and review process, making funding recommendations, and regularly evaluating grantee progress. This position reports to the Senior OWA Projects Manager.
This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires domestic and international travel, equivalent to 3 or more trips per year.

Oversee the OWA’s annual grant cycle from start to finish; this includes collecting applications, leading the funding review process, consolidating feedback from the review team, and making funding recommendations. Conceive and implement improvements to the grant process to increase efficiency and impact.

Collaborate with OWA Regional Leads on the distribution of travel awards for each OWA summit, providing funding to assist OWA member groups with travel expenses.

The annual compensation range for this role is $68,473- $83,689 USD, or £38,203 - £46,692 GBP. At The Humane League, we believe in maintaining a fair and equitable work environment for all employees. The Role Within Unseen
As Fundraising Manager at Unseen, you will generate income from a variety of supporters including corporates, individuals, and communities. You will manage key fundraising activities, including events, digital campaigns, appeals, supporter care, and employee engagement initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage with supporters to promote Unseen’s mission of a world without exploitation.
You will be responsible for the line management of a Fundraising Officer, who works across the corporate, individual, and community income streams, enabling their growth and ensuring that all tasks are completed effectively.
You will work closely with the Head of Fundraising to deliver and evaluate fundraising activities, ensuring they align with Unseen's strategy and values, and drive sustainable growth. While this role focuses on specific fundraising streams, such as corporate, individual, and community fundraising, Unseen also generates income through trusts, grants, and foundations, which is not a responsibility for this role of Fundraising Manager. However, this role will be expected to identify and develop new sources of income where appropriate and cost-effective opportunities arise.
This role represents a strategic investment in the fundraising team, built on the strong foundations and successful fundraising in 2024. With clear plans in place for 2025, the Fundraising Manager will have the opportunity to shape the future of Unseen’s fundraising efforts, driving increased income to meet targets and support the organisation’s long-term ambitions.
Purpose of the role
The Fundraising Manager plays a pivotal role in driving Unseen’s fundraising efforts. You will lead initiatives aimed at securing vital funding across three key areas:
· Corporate donations and employee engagement
· Individual donor fundraising, including nurturing major donors
· Community group partnerships.
You do not need to have direct experience across all areas, however we are looking for someone to replicate fundraising experience across these income streams. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality fundraising experiences, deepening relationships with supporters to maximise value, and creating opportunities for new income streams.

About the opportunity:
The Tutor Communications Officer will work closely with the Communications and Media Manager to support all aspects of stakeholder communications and engagement at Action Tutoring. The role will require you to develop engaging and motivational content when communicating with our volunteer tutor network, schools and other stakeholders.
The Tutor Communications Officer will develop their data management and analytical skills, when evaluating the impact of communications and maintaining subscriber data. They will also develop detailed knowledge of our e-communications software (Campaign Monitor) to create precise and engaging email campaigns with accurate segmentation of recipients.
Comprehensive induction and training will be provided. Action Tutoring is committed to providing development opportunities for its staff and, as a growing charity, there are plenty of opportunities to take on new areas of responsibility.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Work with Communications and Engagement teams to create impactful communications that recruit new tutors, re-engage lapsed volunteers, and convert former tutors into long-term charity supporters.
- Maintain and analyse data across our e-communications platforms (ValueText, Campaign Monitor) and our volunteer database (Salesforce) to optimize audience targeting and engagement, while ensuring GDPR compliance and data cleanliness.
- Respond to tutors’ enquiries and feedback complaints as part of managing the communications’ team inbox, whilst supporting the wider team to do the same.
- Work with the Communications and Media Manager and other communications officer to produce interesting and relevant pupil and tutor case studies throughout the year. Collaborate with our Programme Team and your MarComms colleagues to source appropriate case studies from our partner schools and volunteer network.
Key information:
Reports to: Communications and Media Manager
Salary: £25,235 per annum plus London Weighting of £2,271 per annum (if applicable)
Contract and hours: Permanent, full-time. We offer flexible hours with 9.30-4 as core hours. A
full working week is 37.5 hours.
