An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shop Manager to join our Dorking Team. As a Shop Manager, you will be reporting to the Retail Operations Manager. Your role will be to be responsible and accountable for maximising shop profit by achieving budgeted income, controlling shop expenditure in line with budget and recruiting and retaining a motivated team of volunteers.
Knowing what it takes to maximise shop sales, you will possess a sound knowledge of technical terms and commercial arithmetic, and an excellent understanding of working within a customer focused environment. With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

Role Requirements
Income generation
To manage the Retail budget to achieve agreed targets:
• To maximise shop sales by achieving agreed targets both through donated stock and bought in/new goods. This involves proactive stock generation, optimum pricing, processing stock to agreed amounts and stock planning.
• Achieve Gift Aid sales conversion target through maximising new donor sign up and encouraging repeat donations.
• Achieve the shops Raffle sales targets through involving the shops team.
• To maintain high levels of shop presentation by merchandising and housekeeping to agreed standards as set out in the Shops Operations manual.
• Manage the stock levels of bought in/new goods, to include ordering of more stock as and when necessary and recording key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Assist in holding and attending Fundraising events to promote the awareness of The Children’s Trust.
• To source links with local communities to promote Retail in the community via media and other sources.
• Role involves a degree of manual handling in sorting and lifting of stock.
Administration and compliance
To ensure adherence to The Children’s Trust policies and procedures, in particular ensuring full compliance of the shops in line with all Health & Safety legislation, Trading Standards, Risk Assessments, Gift Aid, Raffle and all other legal or statutory requirements:
• To control shop expenditure through effective cost control of weekly expenses.
• To ensure minimum losses of both stock and cash by following bank and till procedures, and safeguarding the property of The Children’s Trust at all times.
• To adhere to all Policies and Procedures including those relating to the compliance with Health and Safety responsibilities, Gift Aid and Raffle.
• To be responsible for the daily management of Health and safety within the shops, completing daily checks and contributing to Risk Assessments.
• To complete all administration to meet the requirements, standard and deadlines for whom this work is produced.
• Embracing the change and development of new technology in the shop, for example The Loop (internal intranet) and Chariot (EPOS till system).
• Timely efficient responses to requests for information including voice and email messages.
• To fulfil any other agreed duties that may at times be reasonably required.
Personnel and Training
To ensure the Shops team are: recruited, retained and developed:
• Provides positive, visible and proactive leadership to the Assistant Manager and Shops Volunteer team.
• To manage all employees and volunteers within the Shop in accordance with the aims and values of The Children’s Trust.
• To be responsible for the daily management of the shop team, including contribution to performance reviews for any Assistant Shop Managers.
• To recruit, support and retain team of shop volunteers.
• Provide induction and training for both Assistant Shop Manager and volunteer team as and when necessary.
• Attend where appropriate, training courses relevant to the development of the role
• Promote awareness of relevant training courses and development opportunities to others within the team.
• Attendance at Retail Sales Meetings and responsible for cascading information to Shops team as appropriate.
• To assist the Retail Sales Manager in shop openings and closures.
• Undertake relief cover within The Trust’s shops as and when required.
• Carries out duties in accordance with Trust values.
Customer Service
To ensure customer care and quality of service:
• To provide excellent customer care through quality of service, dealing with complaints both efficiently and effectively, and having a good understanding of what The Children’s Trust does.
• Support other shops and fundraising colleagues as and when necessary.
• Adheres to all health and safety guidelines, including infection prevention and control.
• Provide evidence of a valid NHS Covid Pass or acceptable proof of Covid vaccination or medical exemption and all vaccinations (or medical exemption) required for the post.
• Adhere to manual handling procedures and complete mandatory manual handling training.
• Promotes the health and safety of others.
• Uses the incident reporting and risk assessment system (IRAR), to identify and report risks and incidents/actions if directed.

The Advancement Division at Imperial is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Gift Administration Assistant to join the Gift Accounting and Administration team.
You will work extensively with fundraisers and Operations colleagues, along with internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely recording, processing and acknowledgment of donations received by Imperial, liaising with frontline fundraisers to provide the highest standards of donor care and financial record keeping.
Duties and responsibilities
• Process donations received in support of Imperial, ensuring that they are properly recorded in our CRM system, Raiser’s Edge, and applied in accordance with the donors’ wishes.
• Securely process credit card donations received either through the post, online or over the phone.
• Help preparing direct debit AUDDIS and collection files from Advancement’s CRM system, Raiser’s Edge.
• Prepare acknowledgement letters to donors from agreed templates and send out daily.
• Produce tax receipts for donors on request and maintain electronic records.
• Support the Gift aid claim process by checking that Gift aid declarations are available and donations are eligible.
• Update the documented processes if changes have been agreed or new processes are introduced.
• Work closely with other teams within Operations to streamline and continuously improve established processes.
• Ensure all donation and data capture devices adhere to PCI compliance, Data Protection and Gift Aid validation rules.
• Monitor the Gift Accounting inbox, responding to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including potential donors when appropriate, and distributing emails to relevant team members as appropriate.

Job Purpose and Summary
Do you want to be part of an exciting and varied fundraising programme?
Currently, our student team supports hundreds of students per year to take part in some incredible fundraising challenges. This includes national and international treks and marathons, such as climbing Kilimanjaro, trekking across the Morocco High Atlas Mountains or running 26.2 miles through Budapest.
We have two roles available for Student Fundraising Assistants to work with the current team across campuses in the UK and one in Ireland. With the purpose to engage with students at our partner universities and inspire them to join us on a fuindraising challenge to defeat meningitis and tick off a bucket list adventure.
The Student Fundraising Assistant will support the student team with recruiting students to take on one of these challenges. Some primary tasks and activities will include attending freshers' fairs, presenting about Meningitis Research Foundation’s student programme at information meetings and making phone calls to those who have registered their interest.
This role requires strong prioritisation and communication skills, sensitivity and flexibility. Whether you come with direct fundraising experience or have transferable skills that the role requires, we will support and develop you to excel in your role. What we are really looking for is someone passionate about making a difference and who is confident and outgoing when talking to new people. You will be the face and voice of the cause when talking to students.
Meningitis Research Foundation is based in Bristol, but this role is flexible and is open to remote working with regular visits to universities across the UK.

The Role
As our Individual Giving Officer, you will help to develop and implement the charity’s individual giving strategy.
Supporting the Individual Giving Manager, you will be the main point of contact and manage the day-to-day relationships with external face-to-face fundraising partners, who represent Yorkshire Cancer Research at private sites (e.g. supermarkets) and by going door-to-door to raise awareness of the work of the charity and encourage individuals to make regular gifts. You will be involved in all aspects of building and maintaining fundraising partner relationships.
Specifically, you will:
Support the charity’s face-to-face fundraising activities:

Work with the Marketing Team and face-to-face partners to build a range of marketing propositions that create memorable conversations and increase the likelihood of individuals deciding to sign up to give a regular donation.

Co-ordinate and facilitate training and engagement activity for new and current face-to-face fundraisers to keep them informed of and inspired by the latest developments at the charity.

Ensure face-to-face fundraisers have appropriate collateral and that all equipment and materials are kept up to date and are engaging for potential supporters.

Ensure face-to-face fundraisers represent Yorkshire Cancer Research in a way that aligns with the charity’s brand values and key messages.
Create campaigns, supporter journeys and develop onward stewardship:

With the support of the Individual Giving Manager, lead individual giving fundraising campaigns and help to develop new campaign propositions that will attract and retain supporters.

Work with the Individual Giving Manager and Supporter Engagement Team to develop and implement supporter journeys from beginning to end for newly acquired regular donors and other key supporter groups, aiming to increase levels of affinity with the charity and encourage life-time commitment.

In conjunction with the Supporter Engagement Team, regularly review fulfilment communications to all our individual giving supporters, ensuring they are compelling, accurate and fit for purpose.
Be responsible for data management and reporting:

Analyse campaigns and activity, including monthly reviews of key performance indicators, to provide insights and inform future decisions.

Use the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to maintain accurate records, for data segmentation and for income and other KPI reporting purposes to ensure the effective management of all individual giving activities.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
FUNDRAISING
- Be a point of contact for fundraising, ensuring a positive experience for funders and managing financial transactions to agreed fundraising policies and processes.
- Develop a regional Grant Programme, focusing on unrestricted income and feeding into fundraising management reporting.
- Identify, research, and communicate income and partnership opportunities, working proactively with colleagues across the Group to scope fundable initiatives that provide added value.
- Work alongside the team to develop high-quality grant funding applications, cases for support, and budgets. Complete the end-to-end process, ensuring all applications are thorough and competitive.

Role Overview
We are looking for a talented fundraiser to join our small and supportive team. The Fundraising Officer (Trusts & Foundations & Events) is a new role to our charity and will play a key part in supporting our future plans.
UP attracts significant support from individuals, and there is huge potential to grow income from Trusts and Foundations with this increased capacity in the fundraising team.
