About the Role:

Responsibilities
Work with the CEO and Head of Impact to develop plans and strategies to ensure quality services are delivered that meet organisational objectives and charitable articles to the highest standards.
As part of the Senior Leadership team, work with, advise, contribute, and respond to the CEO and Head of Impact and the partnership they create to ensure they are deliverable and adequately resourced and costed and deliverable.

Staff & Contract Management
Ensure an appropriate, effective staff, freelance and volunteer structure to deliver the services; recruit and manage staff & volunteers and resources to achieve required service response and quality.
Ensure all staff development and review processes are undertaken including induction, appraisal, and performance, in line with required processes. Resolve performance issues among staff and volunteers engaged in delivering services.
Performance Management
Working under the direction of the CEO develop, agree, and secure agree all partnership agreements and MOU that support the emerging partnerships and ensure they are in line with the Donor Care Plan specifications.
Working with the CEO and Finance, oversee and monitor all contract and partnership agreement terms with regards to agreed milestones and cashflow of fees and funds; anticipate problem areas and lead as necessary on mitigating action and ensure deliver of agreed targets.
Work to the Head of Impact to inform monitoring reports as required to ensure clear and transparent delivery of agree contracts.
Ensure appropriate levels of training are maintained and a good working understanding of the policies and procedures of the Foundation.
Contribute to the Quality Accreditation process to ensure highest standard of the foundation are achieved.
Relationship Management
Under the direction of the CEO develop and maintain proactive, collaborative and effective strategic relationships with corporate partners, commissioners, contract managers, business partners and funders to maximise the charity’s influence and ability to deliver quality services and grow it income and funding.
Manage the Bedfordshire & Luton Funder Network to maximise opportunities for support, collaboration, and information sharing.
Representing the Organisation
Maintain an excellent understanding of business and charity sector issues to better inform our work, ensuring information is cascaded to wider members of the team.
Represent the Foundation at Regional and National events.
Proactively develop and maintain an appropriate network of contacts in the grant making and business sectors.

Significant and demonstrable experience of partnership working and income generation and growth with a wide range of businesses, funders, Trusts, Local Authorities and the VCSE.

Experience of working on delivery and negotiation of complex contracts and partnership agreements and range of successful funding applications to local and national funding initiatives.
Considerable experience of developing business initiatives to drive successful organisations in line with Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) priorities.
Experience in management and delivery of excellent communication campaigns, tools and teams (D).

GiveOut is an award-winning international LGBTQI community foundation. Our mission is to bring together the LGBTQI community and allies to support global LGBTQI rights activism worldwide, building a world where LGBTQI people everywhere can live freely and fully.
Across the world, courageous activists are doing vital work to protect our communities and improve the lives of LGBTQI people. But they lack resources and funding is fragile, especially in the Global South and East. LGBTQI groups receive a tiny fraction of international development aid – just 4p in every £100 awarded by governments.
Our community and allies want to provide support, but it is not always easy to do so. GiveOut’s purpose is to help address this urgent need by providing a platform for our supporters to give tax efficiently in one place to fund LGBTQI human rights activism worldwide. We identify pioneering groups to support through a rigorous process of consultation, due diligence and vetting, guided by our Grant-making Advisory Panel and governed by our Board of Trustees.
We pool the donations we receive to provide grants to LGBTQI organisations around the world, ensuring they have more of the resources they need to defend our communities, tackle inequality and campaign for lasting change.
About the Role
Fundraising and philanthropic advocacy are at the heart of GiveOut’s work. As Senior Philanthropy Officer, you will be a key member of the Philanthropy team, implementing a vital part of our philanthropy programme as we deliver our growth strategy.
You will identify, engage, cultivate and steward major donors (high net worth individuals) and charitable foundations to secure high value gifts and grants, grow long term strategic relationships in support of the LGBTQI movement, grow GiveOut's network, and provide a top quality donor experience.
Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, you will support them on shaping and executing strategy and work planning, coordinating the donor database and leading on related internal processes, and deputising for the Head externally.
We are open to full time or part time (pro rata) at a minimum of 24 hours, or equivalent to 3 days per week. We are also open to flexible working arrangements to be discussed. Occasional evenings or weekends out of hours will be required, such as for networking or GiveOut hosted events, for which time off in lieu will be granted.

Essential Skills and Experience

This role will oversee the administration of legacies, drive the growth of the charity’s Free Wills programme, steward legacy pledgers, and expand in memory fundraising. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this.
Their vision is to find a cure for all types of brain tumours. To achieve their mission, they are looking for a Community Fundraiser who will proactively engage with supporters, community groups and volunteers across the West Midlands to join their team of 12 Community Fundraisers across the UK.
The Community Fundraiser (West Midlands) is responsible for providing support and guidance to fundraisers within their communities to achieve their ambitions and ultimately raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research. This is achieved through a wide variety of activities such as helping supporters to make the most of their own fundraising, engaging participants with externally organised events such as the Great Birmingham Run, and encouraging communities to get involved in events organised by Brain Tumour Research such as Wear a Hat Day and Walk for Hope. The Community Fundraiser will be the face of Brain Tumour Research in the area, providing excellent stewardship to existing supporters, and building great relationships with new supporters.
This post has been vacant since Autumn, and as such needs a fundraiser with confidence and capability in fundraising to join the team, provide donor love to the loyal supporters in the area, and approach developing the areas potential with energy and enthusiasm. Location

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced manager for a prestigious new role in our garden at the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville.
Horatio’s Garden is a nationwide charity creating and nurturing beautifully designed gardens in NHS’s spinal injury centres. The Patient Experience Manager will be the figure head/ambassador for the garden.
You will be responsible for the smooth running of a thriving, vibrant garden ensuring the patient and their family are appropriately supported throughout their time in Stoke Mandeville.
This role requires you to manage a large established team of volunteers and work closely with the Gardener who maintains the horticultural standard of the garden and delivers therapeutic horticulture sessions.
You will be managed by the national Patient Experience Lead, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with clinical and non-clinical NHS staff, corporate sponsors, funders, the Fundraising team, and the Events Programme Manager.
The fully accessible garden has been beautifully designed and maintained, and the role of the garden needs to reflect an appropriate environment for patients and their families at all stages of their recovery. From the initial welcome, to ensuring the contact and relationship is consistent with activities to suit their needs.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering social activities, supported by the charity’s Events Programme Manager and in collaboration with the wider Stoke Mandeville team. These activities will mainly need to be held on a weekend afternoon which is a critical time in the garden when most patients are available and often have friends and family to visit. Currently the Arts programme includes crafts, quizzes, seasonal celebrations with lunches, in addition sessional creative experts also deliver glass fusing workshops, felting, printing, talks, painting, ceramic workshop, live music performances.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, proactive individual who is efficient, well organised and has outstanding communication and relationship building skills. You will need to be adaptable and friendly and confident working with a wide range of people including people with spinal injuries and their families, NHS staff, volunteers and many different teams within the charity.
Key Responsibilities include:
· Develop relationships with patients and families to ensure the best experience for them in the garden at every stage of their rehabilitation
· Develop and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with NHS clinical teams and voluntary services
· Work with the newly appointed Impact Manager to monitor patient experience and the impact of the garden
· Manage the team of volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the garden with patient experience at its core
· Maintain a consistent social and arts activity programme appropriate for the current patient group, liaising with the Events Programme Manager and managing the volunteers accordingly
· Host corporate sponsor events and fundraising opportunities
· Work with fundraising managers and volunteers to develop opportunities to generate income in the garden through friends, corporate friends and third-party fundraising
· Ensure the garden is managed to allow the correct balance is in place to benefit both patients and external parties (major donors, trusts, corporate groups and other visitors)
· Represent the garden and charity at key events and speaking opportunities
· Work closely with the communications team to develop and ensure clear messaging in and outside the garden
· Ensure all budgeting and administrative tasks associated with the garden are monitored, completed and maintained
