The Advertising Standards Authority plays a crucial role at the heart of the UK’s media and communications landscape, ensuring that advertising across all platforms is legal, decent, honest, and truthful. As the UK’s independent advertising regulator, the ASA upholds high standards, protects the public, and builds trust in advertising by working collaboratively with industry, consumers, and other stakeholders.

We are looking to appoint a part-time finance business partner who can lead our continuing financial planning and analysis work and introduce a high-performing business partnering function.  The successful person will be an excellent collaborator and be able to present complex financial information in an accessible way, draw insights and make recommendations.  They will have good commercial acumen and be a champion for improving business processes.  They will work closely with the senior management team and the ASA’s wider management community and be a member of the corporate services management team.

Key areas of responsibilities;

• Set the agenda. Run the annual budget cycle and three year forecasts, gathering income and cost plans from every area and presenting clear analysis to the Senior Management Team.
• Be the go to partner. Guide budget holders through monthly spend reviews, delivering accurate quarterly forecasts, variance commentary and practical advice.
• Power our people plans. Work with HR on annual pay awards, salary budgeting and head count modelling.
• Fuel new opportunities. Build pricing models and robust costings for new services or funding bids, and make sure invoicing is timely and exact.
• Advise the top table. Act as a trusted sounding board to directors, translating financial data into strategic options and risk aware recommendations.
• Model what’s next. Provide ad hoc financial modelling and scenario analysis to underpin projects across the ASA.
• Turn data into insight. Collaborate with systems developers to create dashboards that convert numbers into narrative.
• Streamline how we work. Spot process pain points and lead optimisation initiatives that save time and money.
• Raise financial acumen. Deliver training that gives non finance managers the confidence to own their numbers.

What you’ll bring

• Qualification. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA – or equivalent experience that proves you know your stuff.
• Sharp communication. You make the complicated simple and can challenge constructively at every level.
• Commercial mindset. Comfortable building models from scratch, interrogating large datasets and spotting the story behind the figures.
• Tech fluency. Advanced Excel and solid MS Office skills; experience with BI tools or dashboarding platforms is a plus.

Finance Assistant (full time employment contract)

To support with other Operations functions including IT, HR, and office management. 

KEY RESULT AREAS/PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Finance 

Prepare invoice authorisation and payment process, ensuring invoices and expenses are recorded and approved appropriately, and payments made to suppliers in a timely manner. 

Reconcile bank statements, accounting software, and CRM, to ensure accurate income and expenditure records. 

Administer the corporate credit card scheme to ensure statements and transactions are approved, reconciled and accurate. 

Issue and update membership invoices using CRM. 

Manage outstanding debtor balances to ensure timely receipt of cash for ACF’s income. 

Respond to member and supplier queries regarding invoices and payments. 

Support cashflow management by maintaining a cashflow forecast. 

HR 

Maintain annual leave and sick leave records. 

Support HR manager with onboarding new staff: issuing offer letters, contracts, new starter forms, sending reference requests and arranging IT set up. 

Support HR manager with processing staff leavers: managing leaver checklists, issuing leaver letters, requesting the closure of IT accounts. 

Update ACFs organisational chart and welcome handbook as required. 

Ad hoc HR administration support around peak periods e.g. end of year reviews

Role Details

Title: Head of Skilled Volunteering

Time Commitment: Full time role (4 days a week may also be considered)

The Photographers’ Gallery is seeking a permanent Finance Officer to join them in a newly created role at a time of growth and transformation.

The Photographers’ Gallery explores how photography is connecting, captivating and radically changing our world today. The Gallery’s programme and spaces – from exhibitions, talks, workshops and digital platforms to the café, shop and galleries – all explore the beauty, complexity, and future of photography. On the borders of busy Oxford Street and vibrant Soho, the Gallery is home to photography experts, novices and the photo-curious; artists and students; tourists and passers-by. With over 240,000 visitors annually, The Gallery is a key attraction within the arts and culture sector in the heart of London.

A newly created role to support in the growth of the organisation, the Finance Officer role is a pivotal position within the finance and wider team. As Finance Officer you will play an important part in creating a robust and innovative financial service delivery to TPG and TPGE staff. You will support with day-to-day financial transactions and a range of accounting tasks in liaison with the Finance Manager, Head of Finance, and wider non-finance stakeholders.

A summary of key duties is as below:

• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Maintain the sales ledger and all receipts and income
• Reconcile all TPGE Bank accounts monthly.
• Reconcile Balance sheet ledger control accounts monthly.
• Process invoices, payments and receipts.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
• Assist with month-end, quarterly and year-end financial reporting.
• Support the Finance Manager in payroll processing and reports.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders

About You

• You will have experience of working in a finance department and of undertaking sales and purchase ledger duties
• Candidates will likely be AAT qualified or studying towards a CCAB qualification. Alternatively, you may hold an accounting and finance degree or equivalent.

Salary & Working Arrangements

• Salary of £33,000 – £36,000 per annum DOE
