About the role
Our supporters are really important to us which is why we want to do everything we can to make their experience of being part of the Practical Action team a positive one. Our Supporter Services Team work tirelessly to deliver the highest level of service possible to our supporters at all points of contact, including email, phone, and postal channels. So whether it’s processing donations or answering enquiries, our aim is to make sure our supporters know how vital they are to us and for them to feel valued.
About you
As a Supporter Services Officer you’ll be part of a busy team delivering an outstanding multi-channel contact service to Practical Action’s existing and potential supporters and donors. You will have a passion for people and will always be looking to go the extra mile to help others.
Previous experience of processing financial transactions and delivering high levels of customer service is essential and you’ll enjoy talking to supporters over the telephone, via email or letter. You’ll be a real team player and be able to work closely with colleagues in the Supporter Experience and Stewardship team and the wider Supporter Experience and Digital Division.
This is a demanding role that requires high levels of supporter relationship management, engagement and dynamism as well as an attention to detail, especially when it comes to income processing and database management. Key Working Relationships
The post-holder will report directly to the Supporter Experience Manager and will regularly collaborate with the rest of the Supporter Experience, Insight, Trusts and Major Donor and Digital teams. The post-holder will be expected to liaise effectively with other staff and teams across the Marketing Directorate.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Supporter Relationship Management
- To provide the best possible experience for our supporters, at all points of contact, including email, phone and postal channels.
- To keep informed and up to date about all relevant activities of Practical Action in the countries of operation, retaining and managing information needed to respond to supporters.
- To make outbound telephone calls and emails as required to new supporters, follow up queries, verify details or thank donors, acting as an ambassador for Supporter Services and Practical Action at all times.
Income Processing / Database Management
- To deal with incoming and outgoing post, all donations made online via the Practical Action website and other charitable giving platforms, ensuring all donations are handled accurately and in line with agreed procedures.
- To process cash donations effectively and accurately onto our database.
- To produce and send out letters of acknowledgement to supporters, personalising these communications appropriately.
- To set up Direct Debits/Standing Orders, handle upgrades and other changes to committed gifts, issuing appropriate communications to supporters.
- To accurately process and commit Direct Debit claims.
- To manage Gift Aid on supporter records. This will include setting up new declarations, ending and cancelling declarations and sending out notifications to supporters.
- To deal with new supporters’ welcome communications.
- To liaise with supporters regarding cancellation of donations.
- To update supporter information on the database such as personal details, communication preferences, and other indications of interest or activities to ensure that all our donor information is up to date.
- To undertake manual data entry where required, and to work to avoid the need for duplication of data entry, and ensure automation where possible.
- To pull information required, download and process third party donations ensuring that they are compliant with GDPR.
Compliance
- To keep abreast of all legislation relating to charitable giving such as PCI DSS, Institute of Fundraising guidelines and best practice, Data Protection and Gift Aid Regulations.
- To ensure data is managed to appropriate standards of data protection and security.
- To be aware of and consistently using organisational policies and procedures
Team Working
- To undertake and participate on projects as directed by the Supporter Experience Manager.
- To work closely with the team to review and improve practices and procedures, implementing positive changes and improving efficiency.
- To contribute to organisational meetings e.g. Stand Up, team away days etc.
- To be proactive in joining cross functional working groups.
- To work closely with the finance and fundraising teams to ensure that all processes are working to the highest standard.
- To undertake other tasks that may be reasonably requested by the Supporter Experience Manager and Head of Supporter Experience and Digital.
PERSON PROFILE
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
- Relevant experience in a customer or supporter service environment with experience of processing financial transactions and using a CRM database.
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including English and Mathematics
Skills, Abilities and Competences
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent call handling skills and the ability to respectfully, honestly and transparently adjust communication to audience recognising the importance of diversity
- Able to use a CRM database
- Able to work across a team following business controls and systems
- Good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite (word, Excel etc. at advanced level)
- Ability to multitask and be able to manage changing priorities
- Ability to work on own initiative to solve problems
- Understanding of data protection legislation
- Prepared to learn or already have an understanding of gift aid legislation, Payment Card Industry, Data Security Standards compliance and charity sector guidelines and best practice.

We're looking for a keen and motivated Training Administrator to join our small, friendly team at our head office in Rugby. You'll be working closely with our Training Manager and ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) Training Project Manager, facilitating the smooth delivery of workshops, events and meetings, advertising and promoting training workshops and preparing training delivery and feedback reports. The Survivors Trust provides a range of workshops and training opportunities for professionals working with victims and survivors of sexual violence and sexual abuse.
You will provide high level administrative support for the Training Manager and ISVA Training Project Manager, overseeing training bookings and maintaining a database of trainees on our CRM (Beacon). You will be responsible for collecting and collating feedback from training attendees and preparing reports to support training delivery. Working in collaboration with the Training Team you will support the advertising and marketing of training opportunities including updating relevant website content.
You will also maintain accurate records of training and project delivery, including budgets and impact measures data for both internal and external stakeholders. Part of your role will include gathering statistics for monitoring and reporting processes.
You will ideally have previous experience of administration in a training setting and/or working in the voluntary sector but please don't be put off applying if you don't meet all requirements. The right candidate will be an effective communcator in a friendly and professional manner, with excellent IT skills including CRM and LMS.
You will be required to complete DBS clearance to work at The Survivors Trust.

Role Summary
The Operations Executive will join a small but rapidly growing team working at GH50/50. Within this role, and in close collaboration with the Head of Operations you will ensure high quality administrative support across GH50/50, setting the entire team up for success. This is a crucial role that will ensure that things run effectively and efficiently in support of our mission.
This is a brand new role for GH50/50, therefore we are looking for a bright, self-starter who can work with the Head of Operations to shape the role; providing recommendations to the organisation on administrative processes and own their projects from conception to delivery. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the charity's administrative and strategic initiatives as we enter a new phase of growth. We foresee that the successful candidate will enjoy variety, will be highly organised and will have a can-do attitude.
Job Responsibilities:
o Support the Head of Operations in the smooth and efficient running of the GH50/50 office.
o Collaborate with the Head of Operations to source and roll out a new organisation-wide management system for GH50/50, ensuring thoughtful integration into our current working practices.
o Organise the Co-CEOs calendars, including scheduling meetings and appointments.
o Support the Head of Operations to prepare and manage correspondence, reports, and documents as required.
o Alongside the Head of Operations, maintain effective office management and administrative procedures.
o Manage and triage the organisational email account
o Monitor and update the organisation-wide contact database
o Ensure compliance with data protection and ethics legislation, including being up to date with GDPR requirements (training can be provided).
o Coordinate support to the team on basic financial management tasks, including expense claims and other reporting.

Skills and Qualifications:

About The British Hen Welfare Trust
Founded nearly 20 years ago by Jane Howorth MBE, the British Hen Welfare Trust is a national hen welfare charity which rehomes over 60,000 hens a year around the UK. Based in mid Devon, and affectionately referred to as Hen Central, the charity works collaboratively with the industry, public, and many national stakeholders to improve hen welfare and raise awareness of hens around the globe. In addition to rehoming hens, our work extends further to education, mental wellbeing, nutritional campaigns, and global veterinary initiatives. We are a friendly and supportive team of 15 and offer a flexible approach to work, the majority of the team are home-based with the option to work in Hen Central also.
About the role
This is a very exciting time to join the team, with the imminent rehoming of the millionth hen and the national coverage this presents, you will have the opportunity to make this role your own. You will be an enthusiastic, organised team-player who shares a passion for hen welfare and will have demonstrable community fundraising experience working in the charity sector.
The full-time role of Community Fundraiser is a new position in a recently restructured Fundraising team, working with the Head of Fundraising, Individual Giving Manager and Corporate and Trust Fundraising Manager. This is a home-based role with regular travel to Hen Central for meetings, events and ad hoc tasks so it would be ideal for someone who is South West based. You will be responsible for developing relationships with existing and new community fundraisers on supporter-led activity and engaging them in our fun and exciting fundraising income streams such as Egg Club, Bake! for Hens' Sake! and Sponsor a Hen to meet objectives and income targets.

Main Purpose of Job:
The purpose of this exciting new role is to raise community fundraising income by building and developing relationships with key community fundraisers, community groups, fundraising volunteers, schools and community stakeholders. As the main lead in the charity for community fundraising, you will encourage, motivate and promote the work of our dedicated and loyal community fundraisers on their varied and wide-ranging fundraising endeavours to maximise income and support of the BHWT.
You will also take responsibility for our established community fundraising streams unique to the charity; Bake for Hens’ Sake!, Egg Club and Sponsor a Hen, ensuring we spread our message far and wide and recruit new supporters to help hens.
Main responsibilities:
1. To grow and develop community fundraising income working with key fundraisers and community groups in the BHWT audience.
2. To provide a high standard of donor care, ensuring all donors are thanked and acknowledged appropriately on time and communicated with regularly with care, thought and attention to detail.
3. To project manage and develop our key community fundraising income streams; Bake for Hens’ Sake!, Egg Club and Sponsor a Hen working closely with Marketing and Communications colleagues to actively promote and share stories to thank and encourage new supporters to sign up.
4. To act as the charity’s main lead for all Community Fundraising related activities and respond to and/or direct all incoming Fundraising enquiries where appropriate.
5. To work with the Head of Fundraising to develop a calendar of supporter-led running events in 2025 and beyond, ensuring places are promoted and that prospective runners are well supported and managed in order to reach individual targets.
6. To work proactively with Marketing and Communications colleagues and provide compelling and engaging content for use in communication channels including the BHWT’s supporter magazine and social media channels to encourage supporters to fundraise for hens and thank/acknowledge.
7. To manage and facilitate communications effectively across key community fundraising streams to aid retention and secure future support e.g. the quarterly newsletter to Egg Club and regular updates to the Sponsor a Hen audiences.
8. To provide monthly reports to the Head of Fundraising in all areas of Community Fundraising.
9. To administer the various elements of the fundraising streams e.g. sending out fundraising packs and thank you letters.
10. To ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including GDPR and data protection.
11. To maintain accurate records on SharePoint and Salesforce.
12. To provide support to other areas of fundraising where appropriate and undertake ad hoc tasks from time to time as required within the charity.
13. To attend events on behalf of the charity from time to time.

JOB SUMMARY
The post holder will managing and lead the effective high quality delivery of the Grief Encounter therapeutic services, including online services, through a team of Therapists, Clinical Supervisors, placement students and volunteers.
