The Evidence Synthesis Manager is a crucial role at the College as you will lead on the project management, delivery and undertaking of existing or new systematic reviews, helping to ensure that the RCPCH continues to lead the way in children’s health.

As Evidence Synthesis Manager you will lead on the development of systematic review protocols, including search strategies and inclusion criteria, in liaison with key stakeholders, whilst providing technical expertise and training on evidence-based methodologies (e.g. critical appraisal, search strategy development), for clinicians, staff and members of guideline development groups.

Reporting to the Head of Research and Evidence, you will lead on reviewing and critically evaluating a variety of evidence to support systematic reviews, ensuring that RCPCH internal procedures and regulated methodological requirements are being followed.

Taking responsibility for Quality Assuring the findings of systematic review outputs which are communicated to, implemented and published by the Child Protection Sub-Committee and relevant clinical leads, you will work with the relevant stakeholders to produce communication plans, promoting and disseminating findings from guidelines and systematic reviews.

You will also be expected to regularly contribute to journal articles within the field of paediatric research.

Suitably qualified with a research methodology element or with equivalent work experience, you should have proven technical expertise in systematic review methodology and critical appraisal of studies and have a background of working with clinicians or academics in the NHS or a similar regulated environment.

With demonstrable knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including clinical guidelines, you will be able to provide training and support in critical appraisal skills and/or data extraction processes.

You should be able to assimilate and report complex medical information on child health research quickly and clearly to different audiences, whilst also having strong writing skills and experience of writing reports of a medical or scientific nature or having published or co-authored in academic publications.

The ability to undertake research of highly sensitive topics - this will involve being exposed to research into issues relating to child protection - is essential.

A project management qualification and experience of evaluation methodologies would be desirable. Familiarity with clinical guideline development methodology along with familiarity with carrying out statistical analysis using SPSS, STATA and/or Review Manager would also be desirable.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We are seeking an experienced fundraiser with proven success to lead our fundraising work in the Africa region. The role will work closely with Africa team colleagues, central fundraising teams (Institutional Funding, Individuals, and Trusts and Foundations) and with our cross-cutting teams based both in the UK and in region. Key external relationships are with multilateral and bilateral government agencies, intergovernmental bodies and other funding organisations. The role will be key to building capacity in fundraising and donor related skillsets, both within the Africa team and with partner organisations, whilst at the same time playing a critical role in securing the funding we need to enable conservation impact and ensuring that nature underpins development and well-being across the region.

The successful candidate will have a Proven track record in leading successful large scale funding proposals, from overall design and writing of content through to logframe and budget development as well as proven ability to secure funding from multi-lateral and bi-lateral agencies (including statutory donors) and the private sector.

With fluency in English, you will have excellent communication and presentation skills to both technical and non-technical audiences and a proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of individuals and organisations.

A good technical background and understanding of a range of conservation issues is essential as is proven experience of influencing donor priorities, negotiating and approving statutory donor grant agreements.

You will have a commitment to building the capacity of local teams and experience in mentoring individual and in developing and delivering training materials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will allow you to make a real difference to the lives of millions of people in the Middle East and North Africa.  You will help to manage, maintain and increase income and engagement through the following key responsibilities:

·Work with the team to implement strategies for growing key areas of income and engagement with churches and individuals, maintaining prospect lists, communicating with churches to resource and increase engagement.

·To manage, motivate and support a diverse team in different geographical locations and working patterns.

·To assist with delivering the church partnership and media projects programme, inviting church leaders and churches to join, helping research, prepare and send project proposals, reports and associated resources.

Role overview 

This is a new role within FILE, providing dedicated thought leadership internally and externally with respect to our land use and nature strategies. You will support our partners to accelerate a transition to sustainable food production, secure and enforce sustainable frameworks for extraction of transition minerals, and contribute to safeguarding key global ecosystems, including through enhancing and protecting the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities.

You will work closely with the Director of Program Strategy, Regional Directors, and other portfolio leads to ensure land use and nature strategies are developed and integrated throughout our funding portfolios. Externally, you will build and maintain relationships with some of the world’s leading climate and biodiversity lawyers and campaigners, as well as with aligned philanthropies.

Our land use and nature work mainly supports partners working on protecting habitats in biodiversity rich areas of Africa, South America and South East Asia, including by challenging harmful practices of corporations based in the Global North. Its scope may shift over time, including as the successful candidate refines our strategy going forwards.

We seek to protect the rights of, and support partnerships with, indigenous people and local communities. Key strategic outcomes pursued include confronting supply chains of major corporates that drive greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity loss, and violate the rights of local communities, and securing regulatory changes to drive finance towards cleaner, more equitable alternatives.

Key Responsibilities

Each of these is conducted in close collaboration with relevant colleagues across FILE’s strategy teams, as well as FILE’s Research, Impact, and Learning, Grant Management, and Philanthropic Partnerships teams: 

• Lead the development of FILE’s land use and nature strategies, including a focus on legal and narrative and movement-building approaches, as well as on enhancing and protecting the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities 

• These strategies will set out a well-considered approach to sectors and themes including exploitation of transition minerals, deforestation and biodiversity loss driven by industrial agriculture, addressing rights violations in global corporate supply chains, etc 

• Work in close collaboration with strategy, grant making and fundraising leads within FILE to increase access to funding sources and the resilience of partners working in the field

• Developing, maintaining and convening external partnerships and networks with partners and practitioners working on and use and nature strategies 

• Provide leadership to the wider philanthropic and donor community on the need for legal interventions in pursuit of FILE’s land use and nature strategy, and support fundraising for FILE as well as directly for our partners 

Key Outcomes 

• FILE has a well-considered land use and nature strategy, including a focus both on legal and related narrative and movement strategies, which is integrated throughout our funding portfolios

• Increased funding is made available to partner organisations working on land use and nature, via FILE or directly from other philanthropies

• FILE colleagues and external partners have a trusted thought partner and collaborator on developing and implementing land use and nature legal strategies 

• Overseeing / establishing high quality convening(s), with support of FILE’s Convening Manager, and networks of civil society and relevant legal practitioners and peers working in this area, to catalyse innovation and strengthen connectivity 

• An engaged group of funders, ready to deepen their support for our partners’ work on land use and nature strategies

• Demonstrated experience in linking legal strategies to effective communications, campaign, and/or movement strategies to advance systemic change 

• An ability to strategically manage projects, including prioritisation and forwards planning

• An ability to work equitably and effectively with multiple perspectives and build trust with diverse partners, and understanding of funder positionality and responsibility. 

• A willingness to travel from time to time (at least four times a year, more if working remotely) to meet FILE staff and partners 

• An ability to work flexibly as part of a team spread across many time zones, which will involve some meetings outside of standard working hours 

• A professional standard of written and spoken English

Desired criteria 

• A current or past qualification / bar admission as a lawyer 

• Experience of working as a lawyer on strategic litigation against governments, corporations, or financial institutions 

• Demonstrated experience of building and / or maintaining external networks, bringing expert practitioners and / or civil society together 

• Experience working with communities adversely affected by climate change, environmental harms, and/or related human rights violations, particularly in the Global South 

• Existing relationships with NGOs, lawyers, and / or philanthropic partners working on relevant land use and nature strategies 

• An ability to communicate with partners in other relevant languages, including Portuguese, French, Spanish, and Bahasa Indonesia, would be a bonus but not essential

About the Role

Fundraising and philanthropic advocacy are at the heart of GiveOut’s work. As Senior Philanthropy Officer, you will be a key member of the Philanthropy team, implementing a vital part of our philanthropy programme as we deliver our growth strategy.
 

You will identify, engage, cultivate and steward major donors (high net worth individuals) and charitable foundations to secure high value gifts and grants, grow long term strategic relationships in support of the LGBTQI movement, grow GiveOut's network, and provide a top quality donor experience. 

Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, you will support them on shaping and executing strategy and work planning, coordinating the donor database and leading on related internal processes, and deputising for the Head externally.

We are open to full time or part time (pro rata) at a minimum of 24 hours, or equivalent to 3 days per week. We are also open to flexible working arrangements to be discussed. Occasional evenings or weekends out of hours will be required, such as for networking or GiveOut hosted events, for which time off in lieu will be granted.

▪ Provide the Secretariat function to support the co-chairs of the APPG for Global LGBT+ Rights to deliver the APPG’s strategy and work plan.

Job Summary 

The purpose of this role is to bring additional operational capacity to new church plants and partnerships. This role will work across multiple partnerships on a fixed term basis to support the operational set up of new partnerships, and leading on operational improvements where there are existing processes. 

This role will be pivotal in establishing sustainable operational excellence, allowing ministry teams to undertake missional work.

Role Overview

Oversee SCOPE, World Obesity’s education programme including: 

• Update, and develop new online modules with input of CCC members / working groups and module developers 

• Develop marketing and communications material (including website, newsletter, and advertising resources) for the education programme 

• Track financial performance of SCOPE E-Learning platform 

• Ensure administration of SCOPE: Accreditation scheme (external courses and online modules); Fellowship scheme, and Certification scheme

• Edit module content using software where needed 

• Manage / respond to documents submitted for Accreditation or Fellowship 

• Administrate the Learning Management System (LMS) 

• Respond to user queries and troubleshoot issues. Where needed, consult with support services offered by LMS provider and software providers to resolve problems 

• Project manage upgrade to new LMS platform and conversion of modules to new format, working with LMS providers and module developers as needed 

• Liaise with translation services to develop translated modules

The role:

As Risk Manager, you will be supporting our Head of Risk & Assurance in the management of risk and compliance across our global network. You will help ensure our key organisational risks are being proactively identified, managed and reported to safeguard delivery of our vision, mission and strategic aims.

Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders across a variety of geographies and cultures, you will help employees capture and consider the implications of our key organisational risks through regular engagement, oversight of our risk registers and providing targeted reporting and analysis.

• Facilitate agile reporting and escalation of emerging risks to management.
• Conduct periodic reviews of insurance coverage and brokerage within MMI and Programme Affiliates to ensure coverage remains proportionate and complete.
• Document any risks or gaps within our insurance coverage and work with the Head of Risk & Assurance to ensure they are clearly understood, escalated and responded to.
• Manage the annual renewal process for all relevant MMI policies and perform a coordination role on any changes notifiable to the insurer or insurance claims.
• Provide guidance on our Programme Affiliate insurance programmes, including providing direction on policy coverage and supporting local staff on significant claims.

About you:

With proven experience of working in a risk management role, including developing risk processes and overseeing risk registers, you will be skilled in the development of strong working relationships. You will have strong analytical skills and be confident in challenging and assimilating data to reach conclusions across a variety of functions. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential, and you will demonstrate integrity and a strong detail focus in when handling sensitive information.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The People and Culture (P&C) Business Partner drives the P&C operational effectiveness in Country Offices, facilitates organisational development and change and provides a framework for best people’s practice and quality standards. The P&C Business Partner also supports the organization in developing and implementing initiatives that encourage diversity, promote equity, and support psychological and physical safety of the workforce.

International travel including security high risk countries up to 6 times a year and extended screen time will be required. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Operational delivery (30%) 

• Provide advice and influence action on P&C global policies, and in collaboration with local P&C Specialists advice on local policies and employment law to staff and management based in Country Offices (COs). 
• Support the timely review of local policies and embed best practice, ensuring local needs and culture are reflected.
• Work with Chief People and Culture Office (CPCO), P&C Directors, the Talent Acquisition Specialist, the Safeguarding Specialist, Global Directors of Country Offices and Logistics Manager to identity and mitigate people related risks in COs and prevent and resolve issues. 

Quality Assurance (20%) 

• Drive efficiency and quality assurance  of P&C operational practices in COs by conducting assessments and P&C Audits, and work with P&C Specialists and Country Directors (CDs) to enhance the employee experience, ensure consistency, continuous improvement and enhance People’s capacity in country. 
• Support CDs to ensure compliance and manage P&C risks as per country risk register and audits’ actions. 
• Contribute to the data gathering, analysis and presentation of P&C reports, to enable decision making Identifies trends, propose actions for improvement and instigate implementation. 

Employee Relations and Employee Services (30%) 

• Monitor the whistleblowing line and ensure timely action is taken in all complaints received related to COs. 
• Oversee and work with P&C and COs management on the prevention and effective resolution of employee relations issues and adherence to disciplinary procedures. Responsible for maintaining confidential records. 
• Conduct investigations and liaise with legal firms and/or investigators to resolve ER cases. 
• Identify trends and areas of concerns based on data channels i.e. surveys and exit interviews and proposes actions. 

Diversity, Equity Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) (10%) 

• Embed DEIA approaches in policies and processes, to create a framework that welcomes and supports staff regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, language, ability, status, and location. 
• Work with the Global Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Committee (GDEIAC) to communicate DEIA strategy and establish measurable goals to track progress.
• Source, develop and manage trainings and a forum of knowledge based on needs, including through the Learning Management System (LMS) and the DEIA Week.
• Analyse DEIA data to make recommendations and support implementation of agreed actions.

Safety and Safeguarding (10%) 

• From the P&C perspective, support adherence to safety, security and Safeguarding policies and procedures across the organisation.

Expertise (Certifications/Education, Professional Experience):

• Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Org Behaviour or related field 
• Experience of working at HQ or regional level on an international development organization with representation in low, medium and high-income countries
• Experience in management of HR international operations with thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable local laws and donor requirements in a number of countries 
• Experience in delivering HR services through a business partner model 
• Experience advising and training P&C professionals, staff and management on employee relations issues and best people management practices

Tactfully and diplomatically recognise and quickly resolve any potential issues raised

· Under the guidance of the Global Programmes and Alumni Engagement Lead, lead on key Alumni engagement initiatives as required, for example the annual Meeting Minds Alumni Dinner

· Ensure that all Rhodes Alumni Associations are up to date regarding the activities of the Rhodes Trust and where appropriate and possible, provide Alumni Associations with administrative support for their key events and engagement activities. Manage day-to-day contact and services to the network of Alumni Groups and Alumni Associations

· Together with the Communications team, support with mailings, Rhodes Connect content and social media activity that ensures that Rhodes Alumni are up to date and engaged in the activities of the Rhodes Community
