- Develop and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies across all channels to support CILIP’s objectives, particularly focusing on member retention and recruitment.
- Oversee media and public affairs activities, including planning proactive PR campaigns, managing crisis communications, and maintaining CILIP’s reputation as a thought leader.
- Engage and influence key stakeholders through effective public affairs strategies, growing CILIP’s profile, and positioning CILIP strategically on key policy issues.
- Ensure consistent use of CILIP’s brand guidelines and collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief for a unified content strategy.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing and communications initiatives, making data-driven improvements to enhance performance.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Trusts and Grants Manager to lead and expand our income from trusts, foundations, and grantmakers. This role is pivotal for advancing our mission and will involve developing and managing a portfolio of restricted donors, researching new funding opportunities, and crafting compelling proposals. While the focus is on trusts and foundations, experience with corporate and institutional funding is desirable. You will collaborate closely with the Director, finance team, and project managers to shape competitive, impactful funding proposals and work in parallel with the Supporter Engagement Manager to develop and implement a fundraising strategy that aligns with the organisation’s overall fundraising goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Donor Management: Take primary responsibility for a portfolio of existing trust donors, providing consistent stewardship and relationship management to ensure ongoing support, including both lower-value and potential high-impact donors.
- Research and Strategy: Conduct targeted research on new trust and foundation prospects, Co-develop a fundraising strategy and plans to approach and engage them based on donor capacity and interest.
- Database Management: Work with internal stakeholders to streamline the donor database for efficient tracking and reporting, ensuring accurate documentation of all interactions, proposals, and updates.
- Collaborative Communication: Partner with colleagues in Communications, Public Fundraising, and Individual Giving to coordinate donor communications for specific appeals or program updates, aligning messaging to enhance engagement.
- Proposal Development: Coordinate with project managers and the Director to prepare timely and impactful funding proposals tailored to trust and foundation requirements, leveraging program data and impact narratives.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee budget tracking and financial reporting for trust and foundation grants, ensuring accurate fund allocation, compliance with donor requirements, and timely submission of financial reports.
- Income Targets: Take an active role in meeting and exceeding annual income targets by developing strategies to maximise trust and foundation funding, regularly assessing progress and reporting to senior management.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of donor interactions, grants, and proposals within the organisation’s database, ensuring compliance with data protection standards.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated success in securing restricted funding grants, with a focus on trusts and foundations in the healthcare or international development sectors (desirable but not required).
- Proven track record of managing a portfolio of funders, developing successful proposals, and coordinating across teams to meet ambitious income targets.

The Email & Messaging Channel Manager will play a crucial role in driving supporter engagement, fundraising, and brand awareness through effective email and SMS communication strategies. They will be responsible for ensuring ARUK's email channel delivers a consistent, personalised, and user-centric experience, maximising supporter engagement and conversions.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Strategic Leadership:
· Email Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Senior Digital Channel Manager to develop and implement a comprehensive email strategy aligned with ARUK's fundraising, brand, communication, and advocacy goals.
· Platform Management: Own and manage the Dotdigital account (email and SMS), ensuring optimal performance, deliverability, and compliance.
· Cross-Platform Collaboration: Lead decision-making on email components for all platforms used at ARUK (Dotdigital, Funraisin, Outlook, etc.), ensuring a consistent and user-centric experience.
· Audience-Centric Approach: Champion a customer and supporter-centric approach to email communications, prioritising personalisation, segmentation, and relevance.
· Decision-Making Authority: Serve as the final decision-maker for all email channel-related matters, including marketing campaigns, automated journeys, transactional emails, and SMS initiatives.
Tactical Execution:
· Campaign & Calendar Management: Own the email calendar, plan, execute, and analyse email campaigns, including the monthly newsletter, welcome journeys, and A/B tests. Manage and delegate this work to the Digital Campaigns Officer(s) and Digital Campaigns Executive where appropriate.
· Automation: Develop and implement automated email workflows to nurture leads, welcome new supporters and customers, re-engage lapsed donors, and drive conversions.
· Data Collaboration: Work closely with the data team to segment audiences, personalise content, and ensure seamless data integration between Salesforce and Dotdigital.
· Integration Management: Manage the technical integration between Salesforce and Dotdigital, ensuring data accuracy and maximising automation capabilities.
· Reporting & Analysis: Provide detailed and accurate reporting on email performance, using data to drive optimisation and inform future strategies.
· User Journey Optimisation: Collaborate with the web unit to create seamless user journeys between the website and email communications.
Other Important Areas:
· SMS Channel Management: Manage and grow ARUK's SMS channel, leveraging its potential for timely and targeted communication. Also responsible for new 'SMS' adjacent channel strategies (e.g. Whatsapp).
· Continuous Improvement: Explore opportunities to upgrade Dotdigital to enable more reactive marketing based on web traffic.
· Knowledge Sharing: Share insights and best practices across ARUK, upskilling staff on effective email communication.

· Strategic Focus: While tactical execution is important, strategic leadership in collaboration with the Senior Digital Channel Manager is essential, ensuring the email channel aligns with ARUK's broader goals and contributes to its mission.

Additional Information:

City Harvest – Trusts and Foundations Manager
Location: Acton, London W3. Flexible working by agreement.

City Harvest, the charity rescuing food to feed people and protect the planet, is seeking an experienced trusts and foundations fundraiser to secure new income from trusts and foundations, and manage a range of existing donors.
Since 2014, City Harvest has been working to solve food poverty and food waste across London. Every week, the charity rescues over 100 tonnes of surplus food from the food industry. Staff and volunteers sort and package this food, and our vans deliver it, free of charge, six days per week to over 375 community partners across 30 London boroughs. The organisation provides over 1.1 million meals monthly, with 43% of their deliveries made up of fresh fruit and vegetables.
The role of Trusts and Foundations Manager will work with the Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager to deliver City Harvest’s ambitious targets for trust and foundations income in 2024/25 and beyond. The post-holder will be responsible for proactively researching and exploring new avenues for funding and building a strong pipeline of new donors who have the potential to support the charity.
Key to the post, will be building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at trusts and foundations and preparing and delivering targeted funding applications to those organisations. Working with the Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager, the post will also involve developing an compelling organisational case for support and a range of highly fundable initiatives for City Harvest.
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working in this area for at least two different causes, alongside a proven track record of successful income generation and delivering against targets. You will have demonstratable experience in proposal writing and in building relationships with donors and senior stakeholders. You will also have a background in report writing demonstrating grant impact. Excellent written communication, administration and problem-solving skills will be combined with the ability to collaborate with multiple teams. Post summary
This is an exciting position for an exceptional person with fundraising, campaigning, policy, communications and management/leadership experience to temporarily direct one of the UK’s leading human rights NGOs. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to oversee high-impact civil liberties campaigns to achieve real change and manage a high-performing multi-disciplinary team to further privacy, free expression and data protection rights in the United Kingdom. Importantly, you’ll be an experienced fundraiser, responsible for leading our grants and major giving to maintain Big Brother Watch’s income growth, and have experience with financial reporting.
You’ll have a diverse skill-set enabling you to line manage our Advocacy Manager, Digital Communications Manager and Head of Research and Investigations. An ideal candidate will also be responsible for leading the development of policy positions on new and emerging issues alongside our talented team.
You may also share spokesperson responsibilities, taking up our role as a recognised voice on civil liberties matters in the national media, though this is not essential.

Role summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to join North Uist Development Company (NUDC) and UistWind (North Uist Development Company Trading Limited) to act as a catalyst for innovative and sustainable community development and for successful operational management of the North Uist community-owned wind farm – UistWind.
The successful candidate will work with the UistWind Management Committee, its members and associated parties, to manage the Community Benefit Society’s operational business needs, meeting compliance requirements while working to maximise generation and revenue from two 900kW wind turbines at Criongrabhal near Clachan-na-Luib in North Uist for the benefit of the local community.The successful candidate will also work with NUDC and the wider community, to develop and implement both a community development plan, and a community investment plan for the UistWind community benefit fund, which takes account of opportunities to enhance the socio-economic, cultural and environmental welfare of the North Uist and Berneray area.

About the role
