BACKGROUND
The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to 2.7 million* means that one in five children don't have enough to eat. When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.
Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma. Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK.
The new UK government’s Children’s Wellbeing Bill outlined in the King’s Speech, includes a requirement for free school breakfast clubs in every English primary school. This is a fantastic start towards ending child morning hunger. Magic Breakfast’s influence will be instrumental to ensuring school breakfasts are introduced in a way that is hunger-focused and barrier free. In 2021, the Scottish Government, pledged a not yet enacted promise to provide breakfast to primary children.
Thousands of secondary school children are at risk of losing their free school breakfasts from September next year. For many of these students, this is their only opportunity to have a nutritious meal before facing a demanding school day, including taking exams.
Solutions across all UK nations are currently either not yet actioned or are severely underserving the current need. JOB PURPOSE
Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good. The role of the Policy and Public Affairs Manager is to support us to deliver on this mission through influencing governments to address child morning hunger and the underlying systemic causes, in order to give every child the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The Policy and Public Affairs Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping policy initiatives and influencing decision makers across Westminster and Whitehall. Specifically, you will help ensure the new Early Adopters Programme – the government’s pilot breakfast scheme in England – is hunger-focused and puts children and young people at its centre. This in turn, will inform the national rollout of primary school breakfast provision across England from September 2026 – a policy which you will also work to influence. In tandem, you will be responsible for informing and shaping how breakfast is included and positioned in the Children’s Wellbeing Bill.
More widely, you will keep abreast of political developments relevant to Magic Breakfast, identifying opportunities to respond, influence and shape the debate. You will be able to put complex policy ideas across in simple and effective terms both in person and through reports and briefings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and lead Magic Breakfast’s influencing strategy to shape and inform school breakfasts within the Children’s Wellbeing Bill

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
Research and Development
- Work with the Head of Corporate Partnerships to scope and develop a new strategic programme to secure high-value income-generating charitable partnerships to help reach more young people

Pitching

Job Title: Strategic Advocacy Campaigns Manager
Team: Communications and Campaigns

Context and purpose of role
Working closely with the Nations Directors, Policy & Public Affairs Managers, and the Communications team, the Strategic Advocacy Campaigns Manager will lead the development and execution of engaging and impactful public campaigns across England, Scotland and Wales, that inspire action, mobilise communities, and influence key decision-makers in support of our advocacy goals. The role aims to support impactful advocacy wins and bring new supporters on board while deepening connections with our existing supporters.
The role holder will focus on developing advocacy campaigns that unite issues that affect the whole of GB, positioning the Ramblers as the foremost authority on walking and as a respected political influencer. They will also support the broader communications team to implement locally focused advocacy and public affairs activities for England, Scotland or Wales where appropriate.
Key responsibilities
Campaign strategy development:
- Design and execute integrated strategic multi-year advocacy campaigns that support our shared public affairs objectives across England, Scotland & Wales to deliver meaningful impact against a common change agenda.
- Translate complex issues into engaging, accessible narratives to attract new audiences while energising loyal supporters.
- In collaboration with colleagues, identify key issues and opportunities for advocacy, fundraising, and supporter growth including where appropriate commissioning research that will create campaign engagement by addressing evidence gaps and opportunities
Campaign management:
- Work closely with the broader communications team to develop strategically aligned messaging and campaign assets and to deliver these across owned, earned and (where relevant) paid channels.

Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated fundraiser to join our successful team as we embark on a major capital campaign to raise £150m. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, this role will be responsible for personally securing six and seven-figure gifts from High-Net-Worth Individuals.
The Senior Philanthropy Manger will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, the Senior Principal Gifts Manager and the rest of the Philanthropy team, feeding into the overall strategy of high-value partnerships. Communications and Development Team
The Development Team sits within a wider Communications and Development Team, which consists of four members of staff at different levels, who work across a range of activities. The Development function is responsible for management of Conciliation Resources’ strategic funders, the generation of unrestricted income and providing fundraising support to the wider organisation. Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to help generate funding for CR as an organisation, and its component teams. The job-holder will need to work with the Head of Development to support the development of existing and new unrestricted funding relationships, collaborate with staff in other teams to help achieve more restricted income, and at all times champion good organisational communication and information management around funding and donors.
With guidance from the Head of Development, the postholder will lead on building and maintaining strategic relationships with new donors and partners, which might involve some grant management, including budget monitoring, as well as providing technical advice to programmes and policy teams’ fundraising efforts. The East London & Essex Hub comprises of four Community Centres, located in Stamford Hill, Bethnal Green, Redbridge, and Southend. The Hub also incorporates Youth Services, the Dennis Centre Dementia Day Centre, and Meals on Wheels provisions. Located too within the Hub is the Vi Johns Rubens Care Home based in Gants Hill.
In 2026, Jewish Care’s 4th Campus will open in Redbridge, with a number of the Hub’s current services moving into one site. The role will be a key part of this process.
The Volunteer Manager is a multi-site role across the Hub’s three areas, overseeing recruitment, training, and assisting resource managers, supervisors & teams with the day-to-day management of volunteers. Working with the Community Hub Manager the Hub’s Operations Administrator, and the Manager of the Volunteering Department, the role ensures the Hub’s Centre Coordinators, teams, and services are well supported and operationally efficient.
The role works closely with Jewish Care’s Volunteering Department and one day a week will be spent with the team at Amelie House in Golders Green.
The role is multi-site, and part time for 30 hours per week (Monday - Thursday). The salary for 30 hours per week is £26,065 per annum (£16.66 per hour).
What you will be doing:
In collaboration with the Hub teams and the Volunteering Department, identify required needs, opportunities & roles for volunteers.
Identify and create written role outlines to ensure that all volunteers are correctly matched with suitable opportunities.
Recruit volunteers through current and new networks, organise recruitment events locally, to promote opportunities at Jewish Care.
Oversee onboarding and enrolment of all new volunteers in the Hub.
In collaboration with the Volunteering Department, implement and manage a training schedule for all volunteers, including local induction and training for new volunteers.
Day-to-day operational support of volunteer management & engagement.
Maintain accurate volunteer records ensuring the volunteer database, Better Impact is always updated.
In collaboration with the Volunteering Department, provide relevant KPIs to ensure effectiveness and best practice.
In collaboration with other services support and lead special projects such as supported volunteering; employee volunteering; Mitzvah Day; fundraising initiatives; work experience; student placements.
Plan, organise and implement ‘Thank You’ events and recognition during the annual Volunteering Week, and oversee and lead on the nomination process for the annual Jewish Care Volunteer Awards event.

ROLE PURPOSE
The Individual Giving (IG) and Legacies Officer will work closely with the IG Manager and play a pivotal role in growing cash and regular donors and legacy giving for St George’s Hospital Charity. This position is crucial to our goal of increasing individual giving from £350,000 to £600,000 and legacies over the next five years.
The postholder will have a strong direct and digital marketing background as they will work closely with the Individual Giving Manager to:
• lead marketing initiatives for all IG streams including cash, regular, Payroll Giving, Face to Face, Lottery.
• drive forward seamless automated digital stewardship journeys, and produce engaging campaigns that demonstrate our impact.
• delivering effective digital activities that grow our brand awareness and income from fundraising campaigns
They will also be a strong administrator, with attention to detail leading on administration for Individual Giving and Legacies, working with IG Manager and Fundraising Assistant to ensure online and offline donations are accurately processed, reconciled and uploaded to our database.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Individual Giving
1.1. Recruit, engage and mobilise donors to increase income year on year.
1.2. Lead on two fundraising campaigns each year, creating communication assets for our website, social media platforms and newsletters.
1.3. Ensure our donation platforms are fit for purpose and integrate into our database, with a view to ensuring we have a high donor conversion rate.
1.4. Ensure all activities comply with relevant data protection and gift aid legislation, adhering to Fundraising Regulator standards.
1.5. Where appropriate, act as a point of contact for external agencies and direct marketing platform providers.
1.6. With support from Fundraising Assistant, ensure our administration, record keeping and thanking for all IG activity is accurate and up to date.
1.7. Process & record income onto our CRM, including batch uploads.
2. Legacy Giving
2.1. Lead on all legacy administration including processing incoming legacy gifts, keeping accurate records, ensure they are allocated correctly and thanked appropriately, where possible.
2.2. Liaising with solicitors on open legacy cases and recording updates.
2.3. Support IG Manager on legacy marketing materials and campaigns.
3. Donor Journeys
3.1. Develop and disseminate key supporter journeys across web, social media and Google Ads
3.2. Plan, design, write and deliver automated email supporter journeys for new and existing donors to enhance engagement and retention.
3.3. Create engaging communication assets (videos, blog posts, leaflets) for donors and prospective donors that demonstrate the charity’s impact.
4. Direct & Digital Marketing
4.1. Lead on content creation creatively that will appeal and engage our supporters e.g. social media posts, videos, blog posts
4.2. Manage and optimize paid advertising campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads) to drive traffic and donations.
4.3. Liaise with external agencies where necessary.
4.4. Update associated webpages e.g. Donate, Leave a Gift in your Will, ensuring these pages are user friendly and accessible with a view to improve conversion rates of people donating online and leaving a gift in their will.
4.5. Collaborate with internal teams and hospital staff to research, develop, and deliver new campaigns, messages, or digital products.
4.6. Implement tests with clear segmentation and testing matrices to maximize learning and income from each campaign.
4.7. Analyse and interpret direct marketing campaign results, producing regular reports that draw conclusions and make recommendations for future activity.
4.8. Work with our Database Manager to ensure all campaign data is utilized, captured, and processed efficiently and accurately.
4.9. Work with management to develop a digital fundraising plan that is clear and timeline-focussed to grow relevant income streams e.g. legacies and individual giving.
4.10.Plan and implement strategies to mobilise supporters via digital channels aiming to increase our newsletter subscribers from 3,000 – 10,000 contacts with a view to convert digital leads into cash donors
5. General Duties
• Participate actively in team meetings, contributing ideas and insights to enhance team performance and collaboration.
• Using our communications toolkit, incorporate our branding and tone of voice across all assets.
• As and when required, provide front desk coverage, welcoming visitors and donors at the Welcome Office and serving as a friendly and helpful representative of the organisation.
• Engage in continuous professional development and participate in regular performance reviews

Responsibilities and Person Specification:
The Media Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing Independent Age’s media communications programme, including media and PR, social media, celebrities and stories. The Media Communications Manager will lead the team to secure profile-raising coverage for our work in a range of print, online and broadcast media outlets including national news, consumer, sector-specific, and regional titles. They will oversee our organic social media and ensure our channels amplify our work and reach older people, decision makers and other influential stakeholders.
The Media Communications Manager will build excellent relationships with older people with lived experience of poverty, ensuring the voices of older people in financial hardship are at the centre of everything we do. They will also grow the organisations relationships with journalists, channel owners, celebrities, ambassadors, and other influencers to ensure that our media communications activity supports our organisational objective to tackle poverty in later life.
You should have broad experience of developing and implementing innovative, successful profile-raising plans (across digital and traditional channels). You will bring an ability to work both proactively and reactively, and experience of handling reputational or crisis issues. You must have a passion for, and affinity with, the charity’s cause.
