The Grant & Bid Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting effective applications for funding, working with the Business & Development Manager to develop compelling cases for support, manage mid level donor opportunities, and continue accurate tracking of income.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience working in fundraising, with success in drafting proposals, raising funds, and applying different research techniques in identifying funding opportunities.

St Ann’s Hospice is growing! Currently in the process of building a brand new hospice in Heald Green, this new role will build on the strengths of our existing Major Gifts fundraising programme to provide a significant contribution to our new build target and secure income for the future too.
- Researching, developing and managing a pipeline of HNWI in the hospice delivery area,
- Confidentially asking for gifts of five and six figures to support the work of the hospice

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus.
Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. This role will report to the CEO of the charity and will work closely as part of the Senior Leadership team. The Director of Growth will have oversight of Fundraising, Communications, Marketing and Clinic Growth within the charity. This will involve line management of the Fundraising Manager and Executive Assistant in the team. The charity has a vision to champion accessibility UK wide and to set up twenty clinics in partnership with local churches by 2030, there’s a current pipeline in progress to achieve this. Main Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will be discussed and developed as the charity continues to grow, but will include:
Leadership and Management:
- Working as part of the Senior Leadership team to strategically support the running of the charity.
- Providing line management for the Fundraising Manager, Executive Assistant and other potential members of the team as the charity grows.
- Leading and participating in prayer and worship with the team in line with Growing Hope’s Christian values.
- Ownership of income raising of £710,000 for the national charity with a view to growth each year. In addition to this an income of approximately £100,000 for each local clinic and ensuring that income targets are met across the national and local charities.
Fundraising Strategy & Finance:
- Lead the development and execution of long-term financial plans in close alignment with the charity’s strategic goals from a Fundraising perspective.
- Reporting monthly to the Growing Hope senior team and trustee board on income, forecasts and plans to hit income targets.
- Manging the fundraising, marketing and communications budget lines.
- Oversee the process of forecasting and planning income for analysis of the leadership team and Board of Trustees.
- Support fundraising strategy development and long term planning for growth.
- Explore and implement strategies for ensuring best use of charitable funds, and maintaining financial sustainability.
- Explore and implement innovative strategies to ensure that Growing Hope are raising funds as effectively as possible at both a national and a local level.
Marketing and Communication:
- Overseeing and developing Marketing and Communication strategy across the charity, including PR development, socials and internal and external communications.
- Oversight of projects and campaigns running across Growing Hope.
- Promoting the Growing Hope brand both internally and externally.
- Developing strategies to support staff with understanding and working to the Growing Hope values.
- Oversight of marketing and advertising on behalf of the charity.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the charity sector, an interest in additional needs and inclusion are highly desirable.

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

The role of Supporter Care Manager is a vital role in our delivery of fundraising services to our client and is a new role created by splitting our current Database & Supporter Care Manager role into two separate roles. This role will focus on the quality of our donor journey, associated communications and the accuracy of our reporting in conjunction with our client’s Finance team.
The Supporter Care Manager will ensure that all processes for recording and thanking donations is accurate, timely and meets regulatory and reporting requirements, whilst providing a friendly and supportive donor experience. Assessing current processes, identifying, and implementing improvements in collaboration with the Database Manager will be a key focus. The successful applicant will have a passion for leading a team to deliver excellent supporter care and donor communications whilst working with and supporting the wider Fundraising team to deliver results for our client and their beneficiaries.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Manage the Supporter Care Officers and several Fundraising Volunteers - providing mentoring and training and completing performance and development reviews.
- Deliver excellent supporter care to our client’s donors and supporters and reporting to the wider Fundraising team.
- Ensure that the best donor experience and journey is in place across all income lines.
- Work closely with the Database Manager to identify and implement process improvements and where possible system automations.
- Ensure that individual processes are mapped out and that clear instructions and training are in place to mentor and support the Supporter Care team.

Required experience, knowledge, skills and characteristics:
- Experience of delivering excellent supporter care or customer care in a charitable or commercial setting.
- Good working knowledge of the Raisers Edge database and donor record management and an expert understanding in the input and recording of all donor data – particularly consent and gift aid information.
- Experience of managing a team to deliver excellent supporter or customer care.
- Good knowledge of GDPR and other data protection regulations governing interactions with donors and the recording and use of information.
- Good understanding of the administrative processes required to log and successfully claim Gift Aid on individual gifts.

Tenebrae is one of the world’s leading vocal ensembles, renowned for its core values of passion and precision. Since the choir began in 2001, we have aimed to move and inspire audiences all over the world through dramatic programming and immersive experiences.
The choir performs around 60 concerts each year across the UK, Europe, the US and further afield, including at some of the world’s most prestigious concert venues and festivals. Alongside its busy concert and recording schedule, the ensemble delivers a rapidly growing Learning & Connection programme, working with hundreds of children, young people and amateur singers across schools and other community settings. In the past 5 years Tenebrae’s programme of activities has grown considerably, but in order to maintain this we now need to grow all areas of our fundraising. The Development Manager will be responsible for:
- Working with the CEO to refresh and implement our 3-year fundraising strategy;
- Fundraising from Trusts, Foundations, individuals and corporates to support the charity’s core costs as well as artistic and educational initiatives;

Location
After an initial period of office-based training, we are happy to consider flexible and remote working in order to facilitate other commitments such as caring responsibilities, although ideally you will be based in our office in Hammersmith for at least 2 days per week.
Hours
We are advertising this as a full-time position at 35 hours per week plus a one-hour lunch break each day. However, for the right candidate we would be happy to discuss the possibility of working part-time (4 days per week) or compressed hours. Our standard office hours are 09:30 - 17:30, Monday to Friday. On occasion you may be required to attend weekend or evening events, for which you will be entitled to time off in lieu (TOIL).
