Fundraising Jobs in Home Based
Turn2us is a national charity tackling poverty and the structural causes of financial insecurity. We work with people who have current or recent experience of financial hardship and partners to provide people in financial crisis with the means and agency to get back on their feet, build resilience, move forward with their lives and thrive.
As an equal opportunities employer, we are committed to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging and the value people from different backgrounds bring to a team. If, like us, you believe everyone has the right to have enough to live on, and you are ambitious about eradicating poverty, join us and build your career with a charity dedicated to ensuring dignity and equity for all.
Our vision is that everyone in the UK has financial security so they can thrive.
Our purpose is to offer support to those of us facing financial shocks and together challenge the systems and perceptions that cause financial insecurity.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of People and Culture will work in a spirit of mutual accountability with fellow directors, taking strategic leadership of Turn2us’s People and Culture Directorate. You’ll have responsibility for strengthening our culture and supporting all our people managers to attract, develop and retain colleagues who are committed to our values and guiding principles.
You will take proactive leadership of our Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) work across the organisation so that we can become more inclusive and diverse, as well as oversee our approach to co-production, making sure that we centre the voices and insights of people with experience of financial insecurity in the design of all our work. Importantly, you will also provide rigorous oversight of our approach to safeguarding and our broader approaches to governance, risk, and compliance across the group – which includes our wholly owned care home business, Elizabeth Finn Homes.
This is a challenging but immensely rewarding role that will work across all parts of our organisation, helping to shape how we work internally and externally, and make a genuine lasting difference to people facing financial insecurities.
About You
We are looking for an authentic and inspiring leader who brings significant experience of developing and implementing people and culture strategies, and of aligning those strategies to the organisation’s vision and values. You will share our unwavering commitment to EDIB, and bring a track record of driving meaningful change within an organisation so that it can become more inclusive and diverse.
You will bring high levels of compassion, empathy and emotional intelligence, able to build trust at all levels while being comfortable with constructive debate. You will have a curious mindset, continuously seeking out new learning opportunities for yourself and our organisation, and an enthusiasm for building new networks.
While experience of working within a charity would be beneficial, we are also keen to hear from candidates who bring transferable experience from other sectors. We know that Turn2us will benefit from leaders with new perspectives and ways of thinking, so we’re actively encouraging broad interest from impactful leaders who bring transferable skills. More importantly is a clear alignment with our organisational values and a passion for supporting people facing financial hardship.
We are always eager to receive approaches from people with lived experience of financial insecurity. If you can demonstrate a clear commitment to our values and ethos, and a deep personal commitment to our vision, we’d love to hear from you.

The Diocese of Truro is committed to responding to God’s call to serve those in poverty. It is a call throughout scripture and the tradition of the church. As we undertake a grassroots change aimed at positioning the Church in Cornwall to tackle some of the biggest spiritual and societal needs we have faced, we respond to this calling in many ways, and one of these is through the role of the Social Responsibility Officer (SRO).
As SRO you will help parishes and deaneries respond to the social needs in their community. This will focus particularly on the effective use of the Lowest Income Communities Fund, and other resources, to make a real difference to people’s lives.
Much of this work will involve working alongside volunteers and clergy in parishes to identify local need and the appropriate responses to help meet this need; supporting them to develop projects including measures of success. The role is also about promoting the prophetic call to serve those in need; building networks and trusting relationships across the Diocese; and acting as a persistent advocate and champion within, and beyond the Diocese, for those at the margins of society.
You will have significant experience of working with vulnerable people and doing so in in partnership with a range of stakeholders. Being able to manage multiple projects, including budgets; build the capacity of others and be effective and proactive in communicating are all key. An understanding, and appreciation of, God’s call to serve the poor is essential as is being comfortable in talking about Christian faith and theology.
This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact for communities and individuals across Cornwall as part of a unique organisation that prides itself on being a supportive employer. At the Diocese of Truro, we value work-life balance and employee wellbeing and are committed to supporting your development. We offer additional benefits such as flexible working, up to 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, a range of wellbeing activities and the Church of England Pension Scheme with 9-15% employer contributions. More information on this here.
If you are interested in this role, you can find more details and how to apply on the Pathways site (application link).
The closing date for applications is midnight on 6 October 2024 with interviews being held on 15 October 2024 in Truro.
We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, we would particularly welcome applications from those with a disability, or from a UK minority ethnic background, as these groups are currently under-represented in our staff.

Emmaus Bristol is a local homelessness charity and part of the international movement of Emmaus communities.
We are looking for a Head of Buildings to lead on the maintenance and improvement of our existing premises as well as playing a role in acquiring new buildings – whether renting a shop or building homes.
Emmaus Bristol is a fabulous place to work and you leave every day with the satisfaction that your hard work has helped people out of homelessness. Emmaus is different to other homeless charities in that staff work alongside formerly homeless residents, known within Emmaus as Companions. So as well as working as part of our employee team, you’d also work alongside Companions and other volunteers.
If you would know exactly what to do or who to call if the Social Enterprise Manager reported a leak in the eco holiday pods, the Support Team Manager needed you for an HMO inspection and you’d feel excited to be involved in developing new homes, then this job is for you!
As we are a small charity, the variety of work in one role is huge! This could appeal to you and you’d make it work full time. Alternatively, you’d like to work part time and employ other team members to fill the gaps. We are open to both approaches.
The key requirements are that you know buildings and building work inside out, you are confident and capable, and you can lead a team. This is a new role and it will really suit someone who can shape the role and run with it.
If preferred, you can apply via our application form.
The link to the application form is in the Recruitment Pack, which you can find here and on our website.

About the Role

They write a report on the investigation/review, which is submitted to the referring agency.
