Post Title: Team Leader

Purpose of the post

• Support the Programme Manager to oversee effective and consistent delivery, performance, and quality assurance across the health settings, working with the Director of Services and other leaders to enhance and develop the offer. Including through involving young people in service design and development aligned to the Redthread Youth Participation Strategy.

• Lead Redthread teams delivering services, ensuring that Redthread’s models of intervention are delivered consistently and appropriately to all young people accessing the services.

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with a broad range of partners and agencies, including clinical teams, hospital staff, Redthread’s stakeholders, project partners, and voluntary and statutory agencies working with young people.

• Be part of the team at Redthread, contributing to the development of our programmes and assisting with other projects and activities as required.

A Bit about Us:
WellChild, based in the centre of Cheltenham, is the national charity for seriously ill children and their families. We fund
programmes and services to make it possible for children and young people living with serious illness to be cared for at
home instead of hospital.

What we are looking for:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and well organised Family Engagement Coordinator to work within our Family Team. This
role will be working directly with charity beneficiaries - parents and carers of children with serious and complex health
needs. This is a diverse and interesting role that is central to the development and expansion of our WellChild Family
Tree service.

Purpose of the role:
The Family Engagement Coordinator is vital to the success of the WellChild Family Tree Network. This is a growing network
that exists to connect families across the UK caring for a child with serious and complex medical needs with each other
and with WellChild. Through its online Facebook forum, and programme of activities, events and communications, it
provides members with the opportunity to make friends, make memories and get support.

Working within the Family Team and as part of the wider Programmes team this role will report to the Family Programme
Manager and is central to the development and expansion of the WellChild Family Tree. Key to this role is taking ownership
of and delivering a well-defined WellChild Family Tree membership experience that attracts and engages families from
across the UK and includes the provision of high-quality content and regular communications.

About the role

This is an awesome role focussed on improving our ways of working and processes when it comes to those who support us. We want all of our supporters to have a first class experience when they decide to donate their time and/or money to supporting children and young people with cancer and their families. However we know that as an organisation we have more to do to make this happen and the time is now.

Working in Income Generation, this role will take a recently conducted diagnostic carried out by a business improvement consultant and not only work through the next steps but make change happen, prioritising the areas with the biggest wins. This role really will have a lasting legacy in the organisation.

We're not just looking for someone to map change, this person will lead operational design and process re-engineering that transforms the Income Generation directorate and it's workforce into high achievers. 

You’ll be based within the Project Management Office (PMO), a supportive team of professionals that lead transformational change across the organisation as well as corporate planning. You’ll also have close relationship with the Head of Planning and Strategy in Income Generation as well as the Associate Director Supporter Engagement.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• Building on the diagnostics carried out already within Income Generation directorate to optimise organisational design and scope improvements. 
• Using the diagnostics to identify pain areas, develop a sequenced plan to tackle these issues and then implement the plan to improve performance, processes and services i.e. “getting hands dirty”.
• Embedding a culture of improvement in the organisation and developing these capabilities within the workforce.
• All of these activities will involve facilitating workshops, engaging audiences with tailored communications, debating and negotiating ideas with leaders, managing governance, risks and dependencies, evaluating progress etc.

• Experience of delivering transformational change by using process improvement principles & methodologies such as TQM, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma to design services and processes that deliver value, efficiency, higher quality, lower costs and better results

We are seeking an operational and people focussed Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our Executive Team. You will drive development of all financial and operational management, processes and reporting, overseeing the organisation’s day-to-day operations including the leadership of Finance, People, Governance, Fundraising, Marketing and Communications and Digital.

The successful candidate will have held broad finance and operations positions, with a track record of interacting at Board level and presenting clear financial and management information. Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility

Operational Leadership and Governance

• Overall accountability for the operations of the foundation
• Oversee and optimise internal processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity
• Evaluate and improve overall performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics
• Oversee robust risk management processes and protocols proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks
• Oversee the development of all necessary policies to ensure safe and healthy working environments
• Ensure FNF is compliant with all financial, tax, charity and legal requirements

Financial Management

• Oversee the development and monitoring of the financial strategy for the organisation, providing recommendations, information and guidance to the Trustees and Executive team to inform decision making
• Maintain and review polices and processes to ensure good financial controls are in place that meet both legal and tax requirements. This includes maintaining appropriate records and controls over restricted funds to ensure that these are used and reported appropriately
• Support the Finance Manager and Executive team in setting FNF’s annual budget, with robust analysis and justification of intended expenditure, financial forecasts, cashflow etc. securing active engagement and ownership from all internal budget holders
• Oversee the financial reports required to review progress against plans and forecasts throughout the year and ensuring these are disseminated and understood across the organisation
• Accountable for regular financial updates to Trustees including the Finance Investment Committee (FIC) and Board meetings along with the preparation of the financial aspects of the annual report and accounts
• Oversee the management and development of VAT reporting for FNF and trading subsidiary
• Oversee the financial aspect of FNF Global delivery to ensure compliance with HMRC

Systems and controls

• Lead in the development, implementation and monitoring of effective procurement systems and procedures, ensuring that FNF achieves best value and drives efficiencies through our external contracts
• Lead on the annual audit in accordance with current practice and the Charity Commissions Standard of Recommended Practice (SORP), liaising and managing the relationship with the auditors
• Oversee the operation of the payroll process and related HMRC contract ensuring that payments are made in an accurate and timely way
• Work with the Finance Committee to manage the investments for FNF, overseeing regular reviews of the investment policy and portfolio, liaising with external partners as necessary

Fundraising, Events, Marketing and Communications

• Provide leadership around income generation, making sure that this is located within the strategic framework and day to day thinking of the Foundation
• Provide leadership and direction for Marketing and Communications, ensuring that overall plans are in support of our strategic objectives
• Ensure all income generation activities from within this team are fully integrated across the Foundation, recognising the importance of inter departmental relationships
• Lead the team in the planning, communications, income generation and execution of the annual Florence Nightingale Commemoration Service and any similar high profile events.

Digital

• Provide strategic leadership in overseeing digital initiatives, guiding the development and execution of a comprehensive digital strategy

HR

• Provide expert professional judgement, advice, and guidance to the Executive and Senior Leadership teams in developing, monitoring, and implementing people strategies, policies and procedures, workforce and training that meet service needs.
• In partnership with the Head of Operations develop, communicate and implement the People and Culture Strategy.
• Support the ongoing development of a culture to enable the development of a workforce which is at the heart of the organisation, in which colleagues feel valued, safe, and respected.

About the role

Imperial is looking for a Regular Giving Officer (Mid-value and Telephone Campaigns) to join their successful Regular Giving and Legacy Giving team.  This is a diverse role with plenty of opportunities for development and learning in a higher education setting, excellent experience if you currently work in the charity sector and would like to expand your knowledge.

The Regular Giving programme seeks philanthropic support from alumni and friends and this role will focus on raising money from telephone campaigns, and donors who are able to give at mid-level. Regular Giving mainly raises money to support students who struggling financially through hardship funds, the bursary and scholarships.

What you would be doing

The Regular Giving and Legacy Giving team at Imperial is a high-performing team, with a well-established, successful programme that is looking to implement new strategies to keep growing.  This role is vital to continue that success by focusing on two key areas of growth for the team – telephone campaigns and mid-level giving. The post-holder will be responsible for implementing the strategy for these areas as well as the day-to-day work.

In this role, you will also represent and promote the mid-value giving programme across Advancement building relationships with Faculty fundraisers to ascertain giving opportunities below £25,000. 

You will partner with the Regular Giving and Legacy Giving Manager to manage a large portfolio of mid-level supporters using mail and email as well as face to face fundraising.  You will be responsible for managing the newly-rolled out mid-level giving club, Imperial Ionic.

What we are looking for

• Experience of working in or knowledge of mid-value and telephone fundraising

• Experience of building relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues up to a senior level, alumni and donors

The role

As Senior Programmes Officer you will closely with our peacebuilding partners to help deliver an ambitious new programme of work. 'Local First: Transforming the Peacebuilding System' will support local peacebuilders in Mali, Afghanistan, Sudan and eastern DRC to increase prospects for sustainable peace.

Through Local First, Peace Direct will work with policymakers and power holders, supporting them to understand the dysfunctions of the peacebuilding system, and find ways to better support locally-led peacebuilding.

This role is responsible for developing and managing partnerships within the four countries, with initial emphasis on Mali. You will work closely with our other SPOs who manage partnerships in the four countries, and create and manage opportunities to bring partners together to learn from one another. You will also support the development, coordination and delivery of Local First, working closely with the International Programmes Manager and Peace Direct’s Netherlands Office Representative.

• Coordinate and support partnerships with local peacebuilding actors based on mutual accountability and trust. This will require working proficiency in French as well as English.

The Role

Sitting within the Discipleship and Social Justice team, this role provides support to three diverse and exciting areas of Church of England parish ministry. Generous Giving helps parishes to raise finances to fund their mission and ministry, Social Justice enables churches to practice their faith by supporting their communities, and Environment ensures that churches are able to make informed choices to reduce their carbon footprint and promote biodiversity.

You will enable these areas by supporting the parish advisers, through communicating with church volunteers, providing resources, and organising/recording project engagement and training.

Reporting to the Generous Giving Adviser, you will be supported in managing their workload. However, as you will be working with three advisers and various stakeholders, you must be able to proactively manage your time and negotiate timescales. Engaging with a diverse broad range of volunteers and clergy across the Diocese, you must have a proven track record of delivering positive customer support.

There are two working pattern options available for this role: Option 1 allows you to work Monday through Thursday, and Option 2 allows you to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

About You

You do not need to be a practising Christian or have a faith to work here - around 50% of staff are not practising Christians but are comfortable with the Christian ethos that underpins the work. However, all our staff do have a desire to make a difference.

We are seeking a motivated individual with proven IT skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams), contact database management, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities. You will have previous administrative experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines while prioritising tasks and handling sensitive and confidential information.

You will be an effective team player with a service-focused attitude, self-motivation, organisation skills, and a proactive approach. Understanding and empathy with the Church of England's work are also essential. As Director of Services and Grants, you will be responsible for ensuring that our multi-channel services and grants programme serve and improve the lives of older people, reach those who are most likely to be in poverty, and have the maximum impact.  You will help us grow our capacity, build our network of charity and commercial partnerships, develop our external training offer, and reach more people including those groups most likely to experience financial hardship. 

Having operated at a senior level, ideally as part of a Senior Leadership Team, you will be an inspiring leader with a demonstrable passion for our cause.  Experienced in successfully managing service transformation and development, including in a contact centre environment, you will also have an understanding of grants programmes, and of building strategic partnerships and national networks.  With an understanding of demonstrating and reporting on impact, experience of supporting fundraising for services and bidding for contracts, you will ideally also have knowledge of developing an external training offer.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Donor Engagement UK, the Development Officer’s role is to provide back-end support to the UK fundraisers supporting the moves management process and smooth running of the virtual office, ensuring compliance with UK laws. The position will manage all elements of the virtual office, administration and reporting and support the team in managing portfolios of donors and prospects targeting mid-level and high net worth individuals, corporates and foundations.  

Key Responsibilities

Administration

• Manages virtual offices and membership programme payment processing in collaboration with our data services team based in the US.  
• Manages post where it relates to membership mailings. Manages orders for stationery and AWF materials needed to support mailings, events, and donor management (internal and external contracts).

ROLE SUMMARY

This role will report to the Senior Delivery Project Manager responsible for the ongoing development of the Alumni programme. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to guide our Alumni programme development. You will be responsible for organising events and opportunities for Alumni, such as our annual Professional Development Courses, in addition to communicating with both the Alumni group and the wider team about the programme and opportunities within it. You will also support tracking and reporting the impact of our work with Alumni to different stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to participate in the fast-paced and rewarding Future Charities Leaders Programme (FCLP) where no two days are the same, where you can focus on your professional development through the FCLP rotations (20% of your time), designed to build your charity management skills.

GRADUATE SCHEME SUMMARY

Being an Alumni Coordinator is the first step on upReach’s Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP). The FCLP provides you with a unique opportunity to:

• Work directly with our Alumni building their careers and exploring opportunities across different sectors, as well as our partner organisations who support them (4 days per week), while also;

• Gain exposure to various aspects of charity management through 6-month rotations (1 day per week).

• Receive training in Leadership throughout, and have the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship in Leadership and Management after 18 months on the programme (in place of rotations). 

The FCLP is designed either for graduates from any university, academic subject and background - or for those with experience in the corporate world who are looking for a career change and experience in the charity sector. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

You will contribute to upReach's mission, by leading upReach’s Alumni Programme, including events and communications, supporting young professionals from lower socio-economic backgrounds  to continue to develop the key skills necessary for progression in the workplace.

You will report directly to the Senior Delivery Project Manager, who will be on hand to provide guidance and support throughout, and who you will have regular check-ins with on a weekly basis.

Key responsibilities include:

1) ENGAGING ALUMNI

Once a student has graduated from university, and subsequently upReach’s core programmes, you will encourage them to engage with a range of activities. You will be responsible for:

• Developing content for our Alumni Platform and drive the use of the platform amongst the Alumni group, maximising the number that update their details, sign up for events and support upReach in a variety of ways.

• Lead on communication about the programme, both with the Alumni group and with the team and other stakeholders.  This includes a monthly Alumni newsletter, whatsapp and social media posts. 

• Lead on the organisation and further development of the Alumni Ambassador Board, including working alongside the Senior Delivery Project Manager to coordinate the logistics of the group, from sending invitations and reminders, as well as organising content.

2) PARTNERSHIPS & EVENTS Our partners make our support possible, and you will gain hands-on experience developing strong relationships with employer partners. The size and complexity of each varies, but you may typically oversee 1-2 large partnerships or 3-4 smaller ones. This includes:

• Being a partner’s first point of contact, and participating in update meetings - for example, updating a funder on Alumni engagement at an event.

• Organising Alumni events (virtual and/or in person): This includes promoting them to Alumni, overseeing logistics, and gathering feedback. 

• Organising Alumni Professional Development Courses (virtual and/or in person). The Professional Development Courses typically involves 5 events focussed on skills necessary to ‘get on, after getting in’. You will be responsible for promoting them to Alumni, overseeing logistics, and gathering feedback. 

• Support the delivery of additional events where Alumni are included, including funding or external engagement events

• Support End of Year Reviews with partners, including data analysis on Alumni engagement and successes - with the aim of ensuring partners renew their agreements.

3) DEVELOP OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALUMNI TO GIVE BACK upReach Alumni are often interested in giving back to upReach after graduation. You will be responsible for:

• Coordinating Alumni volunteering opportunities, including keeping an up to date register of Alumni volunteers and opportunities for them to engage in.

• Collaborating with different teams across upReach, including:

  • External events: coordinating Alumni speakers and volunteers

  • Fundraising: collaborating on fundraising campaigns, specifically targeting Alumni

  • Programmes team: collaborating with different teams across the Associate-facing programmes team, ensuring they are able to access Alumni volunteers for Associate-facing events

4) ROTATIONS IN DIFFERENT AREAS OF CHARITY MANAGEMENT As part of the FCLP programme, you will work on rotational projects designed to give you a greater exposure and understanding of the different areas of charity management. 

You will have a six month rotation in each of the following areas during your first 18 months on the programme: (1) Fundraising, Partnerships and Comms, (2) Operations and Strategy (3) Project and Product Management.

• Each week you will work on projects related to your current rotation (7.5 hours per week). These projects will be agreed with your Rotation Manager, in line with the learning objectives for each rotation.

5) LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

During your initial 18 months on the programme, you will receive training every six weeks on different soft skills within Leadership through an external training provider. This training will take place through a mixture of online and face to face sessions. Training sessions will include: 

• Communication

• Understanding different working styles

• Conflict Management

• Emotional Intelligence

6) WIDER ORGANISATIONAL SUPPORT PCs play their part in helping upReach achieve broader organisational objectives. As a key contact point with Alumni and partners, you will play a crucial role in raising awareness of wider projects. Examples include: encouraging Alumni to make nominations to upReach’s Student Social Mobility Awards; and supporting our HR team with assessing applications to future cohorts of the FCLP.

• Experience of working within a busy press office environment/ PR agency or as a journalist. 

• Experience of supporting with or delivering impactful media campaigns or stories that have helped secure quality coverage in national and regional news outlets, as well as softer consumer features.

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: Cambridge Biomedical Campus
Working Arrangement: Hybrid with a minimum of two days a week in the office for full-time staff

What You'll Do:

As their Volunteer Programme Lead, you'll play a vital role in their mission by:

• Developing a comprehensive volunteer fundraising strategy.
• Creating a wide range of volunteer opportunities that make a real impact.
• Establishing and managing fundraising committees across the East of England.
• Attending and supporting fundraising events-making every interaction count.
• Building partnerships within the hospital and community to grow their volunteer base.
• Ensuring volunteers feel valued, fulfilled, and proud to be part of their team.

Your Role:

You'll be the driving force behind their volunteer programme, working closely with colleagues across the charity and hospital. You'll have the chance to:

• Identify new opportunities for volunteering and income generation.
• Lead volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement strategies.
• Champion volunteering both inside the hospital and throughout local communities.
• Coordinate their Charity Hubs within the hospital, ensuring they are staffed by exceptional volunteers who provide an outstanding patient experience.
• Make a direct impact by hearing stories from patients and staff, seeing the difference volunteers make every day.
