Main purpose of this role
This role will enhance FareShare’s internal communications and strengthen connections across FareShare internal network, ensuring consistent, effective communication with network partners. The successful candidate will be essential in developing and implementing communication strategies that engage and inform internal and external stakeholders.

FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, comprising 18 independent organisations. Together, we take good-quality surplus food from across the food industry and distribute it to 8,500 frontline charities and community groups.
The food we redistribute is nutritious and good to eat. It reaches charities across the UK, including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, and community cafes. We provide enough food weekly to create almost a million meals for vulnerable people.
Every year, more than three million tonnes of food go to waste in the UK, enough for 7 billion meals. Meanwhile, the cost of living crisis is driving millions into food insecurity.

The role
This role is vital in strengthening FareShare’s ability to promote its work across the internal network and ensure staff are engaged in the work of FareShare, understand its impact and can consistently communicate its activity.
Working across the charity, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing internal communication strategies that align with FareShare’s mission and values. This activity includes engaging with network partners to ensure clear, consistent messaging and support the marcomms team’s work in brand awareness and communication effectiveness across FareShare.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications Strategy:
Collaborate with the Head of Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs and the senior team to develop and implement effective internal communication strategies, including a schedule of activities for the year.
Design and manage internal communication channels and content, ensuring they resonate with employees and align with FareShare’s values and objectives.
Drive employee engagement through innovative and compelling storytelling.
Measure and analyse the effectiveness of internal communication initiatives, continually seeking improvement.
Support change management processes by providing clear, concise, and timely communication.
Employee Engagement and Advocacy:
Foster a culture of open communication and feedback across the organisation, creating platforms for staff to share ideas, concerns, and successes.
Organise and lead internal campaigns and initiatives to create a sense of community within FareShare.
Recognise and celebrate staff achievements and milestones through internal communications.
Network Partner Engagement:
Act as a liaison between FareShare and its network partners, ensuring consistent and effective communication.
Develop and distribute communications materials that keep network partners informed and engaged.
Internal Brand & Messaging Management:
Work with the marcomms team to ensure FareShare brand use internally and across the network is correct and aligned with FareShare messaging. Ensure brand consistency across all internal communication channels and materials.
Event Support:
Assist in the planning and delivery of internal, such as fundraisers, conferences, and awareness activities with key stakeholders. Ensure the smooth execution of events and maximise engagement opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal teams to communicate the impact of FareShare’s work and engage stakeholders. Assist with identifying stories and testimonials to highlight FareShare’s achievements.

The Café forms part of a central hub, housing a daytime café for the community and an after-school Youth Café that connects vulnerable young people to positive and inspiring role-models from their community, empowering and inspiring them to become active citizens in their community. The space is used for two similar, but distinct purposes and excellent working relationships between these are essential. This role is responsible for the daytime café and related income generating activities.
An initiative of the Matrix Trust, our café has built an excellent reputation, with the vision to provide a space for local people to retreat to, where they will find a friendly welcome and an opportunity to give back to the community. Key elements include: quality coffee, delicious healthy food, a calm but welcoming environment, and an eco-friendly, low waste ethos.
The Café is open 5 days a week, 8:30am to 3pm on Tuesday to Friday and 10am to 3pm on Saturdays.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
● Oversee the efficient daily operation of the café, ensuring high standards and excellent customer service.
● Engage customers, take and serve orders, and drive sales.
● Ensure all health & safety and food safety standards are met.
● Maintain a clean, welcoming, and friendly environment for customers.
● Manage stock levels, place supply orders, and handle cash management, including cashing up and reporting till adjustments.
● Develop and maintain a visually inviting space with up-to-date menus and quality food offerings.
● Implement and follow food rotation and waste management procedures to minimise waste and maximise margins.
● Utilise and develop methods that encourage repeat business.
● Secure the café at the end of the shift.

About you and the role
The purpose of this role is to manage operational delivery of our School Chef Educator programme, ensuring efficient and effective delivery. The School Chef Educator programme is a 10 week training programme for school kitchen staff, covering topics such as Reducing Food Waste, and Food Education. It is delivered in a blended learning format, through a mix of in-person training, bitesize webinars, and our online learning website.
You will be supported by our Director of Transformations, and manage our Chef Trainers who deliver our School Chef Educator Programme. You will work closely with the Director of Partnerships & Impact, our School Engagement Manager and our Research Supervisor, to identify and liaise with suitable funding partners, academies and schools, and ensure we are monitoring and evaluating our programme delivery to evidence it’s impact and ensure quality delivery across the cohorts that take part.
Your role will oversee our School Chef Educator Programmes, delivered across England. This role will be primarily focused in London, but will include supporting schools in locations across the UK as we develop new hubs. An average week in this role might see you attending meetings with new partners to secure support for new programmes, sourcing venues for training days, scheduling programme delivery dates, identifying and contacting schools in our programme delivery areas to sign up their kitchen teams to our programme, developing new content on our learning management system, attending webinars our Chef Trainers are delivering, and supporting Chef Trainers with our in-person kick off sessions, and graduation celebrations.
You will be joining a dynamic and growing charity who are passionate about delivering exceptional training, skill sharing, expertise and know-how to advance the quality of food preparation, food service and food education in schools.

Key responsibilities:
● To work with the Director of Transformations to ensure that all programme delivery is delivered in line with our vision, values and ethos.
● To support and manage our Chef Trainers to ensure a high quality and consistent standard of programme delivery.
● Coordinate and oversee all programme activities, including booking venues, scheduling, logistics, and managing Chef Trainer workload.

● Work with the Research Supervisor to support preparing reports on the impact of the School Chef Educator programmes, including statistical data, trends, and success stories.
● Maintain accurate data records and ensure our contacts database is up to date with relevant participant, partner and engagement information.
● Collaborate with the Chef Trainers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet the needs of participants on our programmes.
● Overseeing project planning and execution for the continued expansion of the roll-out of the School Chef Educator training programme - this will involve being organised and keeping the project on track, working with internal and external parties.
● Assist in the delivery of programmes where necessary, providing support and guidance to the Chef Trainers as needed.
● Working with the Chief Innovation Officer, the Chef Trainers across all our programmes and the wider Chefs in Schools network to identify current and future skills requirements for the school kitchen workforce.
● Developing and/or commission relevant training materials to keep our programme up to date and develop new programmes that complement our organisational strategy.
● Plan, and manage the continued iterative development of our School Chef Training programme. Lead on programme design, monitoring performance and adjusting our approach as necessary for future cohorts.

Housekeeper/cleaner of Euphrasie Barbier Convent (EBC) and other premises on the Sturry site in Kent
Purpose of the role: The sisters of our Lady of the Missions are looking for an experienced person to become their Housekeeper to ensure the smooth running of their community house based in Sturry, Kent, for the safety and well-being of the community of Religious sisters who reside there.
To oversee and undertake cleaning and housekeeping duties in the community house and other premises on the site in Sturry, including the chapel and archives, and to supervise the cooks and a cleaner who is employed for 15 hours per week.
Main duties and responsibilities:
· To work in conjunction with housekeeping staff and cooks in order to create a continuous supportive and effective team for the benefit of sisters, providing cover for staff as necessary
· To provide a presence in the house and to be the contact person for external visitors
· To answer the door and phone as appropriate to all external callers asking for identity as appropriate
· To look after visitors, welcoming them, providing refreshments, and to attend to all of those who call during the hours while on duty
· To undertake weekly online food ordering and shopping for food items required by the sisters during the week which may have been missed from the weekly online food order
· To be the contact with outside agencies if any appliances need servicing or replacing
· To ensure that appliances are maintained and cleaned regularly and to enter into service contracts after having discussed this with the finance officer on site
· To ensure that any regular maintenance required to fulfil health and safety requirements is carried out routinely and all records are kept
· To liaise with the care manager in St Anne’s care home regarding any maintenance needs that can be undertaken by the on-site maintenance officer who works mainly for the care home
· To help sisters who request assistance with making and changing their beds and helping them with personal washing of clothes and bed linen (This can be done in conjunction with the cleaner)
· To ensure that all that all bins are emptied and cleaned by housekeeping staff and as much as possible is recycled
· To supervise and the cooks who are employed and help them if there is a large group for dinner (such as for funerals or jubilee celebrations), providing cover in their absence
· To ensure that spare bedrooms are cleaned and prepared when visitors are expected, and that they are cleaned and maintained regularly
· To facilitate any sisters’ request for help with travel to, or attendance at, medical appointments and accompany as required
· To ensure cars are maintained including MOT requirements and liaise with the Finance Officer and Maintenance Operative.
· To work within the budget agreed by the Sisters and Finance Office and ensure all records and receipts are kept.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of how Feedback communicates our work to help achieve our strategic goals. This includes centring communities, building our public profile with key audiences including journalists, developing our range of allies, reflecting our understanding of historical injustice in the food system, and fostering an experimentation and learning culture. As Feedback has recently rebranded and changed its name, this role will involve carefully managing the journey of embarking with a new brand.
This role would suit an experienced communications professional who is excited to think deeply about the way communications can support systemic change in the food sector. Experience with managing relationships with journalists and media outlets, identifying and pursuing stories, managing change, and contributing to organisational learning will be important.

About the role
For the past five years, Platform’s fossil free work has focused on the coordination of the activist network UK Divest, with the aim to disrupt the financing of the fossil fuel industry through local government pension schemes. In the past two years, the remit of our work has expanded, to include new campaigns focused on exposing and disrupting fossil fuel industry sportswashing and the lobbying of Parliament. Now, with new campaigning underway on new targets in the pension sector, we are re-organising and growing our team to resource this exciting work.
Working alongside three Fossil Free Campaigners at Platform - and partners at Friends of the Earth Scotland - you will build on the strengths and learnings of past years to lead the strategic development of this important programme of work, incorporating UK Divest, Fossil Free Parliament, fossil free sports work, and new pensions work.
Our fossil free campaign is also inextricably tied to other movements for social justice. We are specifically seeking someone to develop the international solidarity potential of this work, understanding how fossil fuels are intertwined with the defence industry, colonialism, and global extraction more broadly. We want to target investment in and political support for fossil fuel companies because we believe it is intricately linked to broader global justice, such as the UK Government’s role in supporting destructive energy projects worldwide. The best divestment and anti-fossil fuel campaigning has been, and your future work will be, informed by and responsive to the BDS movement, the Global Energy Embargo for Palestine and anti-apartheid and arms trade work.

We are now recruiting for a new role in the Resources Team, Crisis at Christmas to support with coordinating the material donations needed to set up and run Crisis at Christmas centres and services. Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week. Core working hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday, but due to the nature of the project some weekend and evening work may be required.
Location: Canning Town Warehouse, Unit 4 SEGRO Park, London E16 4ES - three days per week onsite
About the role
As a Project Coordinator – Resources your role will involve building relationships with current and new corporate donors to ensure we can resource all the required material donations we need to run the Crisis at Christmas centres in London. Gift in kind donations we require range from food and beverages to clothing, hairdressing equipment and minibuses. This is a varied role that involves researching donors, communicating with large corporate companies, managing volunteers, and running community donations.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

Experience of customer service and ability to deal with working with partner organisations and donors via phone and email in a professional and friendly manner.

Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities

Excellent IT skills with experience of using Microsoft Office software, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Strong problem-solving skills and the adaptability to modify plans in response to unexpected complications.

Good communicator who considers their audience and can work efficiently as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and ability to process data accurately.
You may have experience running events or working on busy projects or have experience in a busy customer service or fundraising environments. You should have an interest in the charity or homelessness sector and a commitment to Crisis’ purpose and values.
