Health and Safety: Assist with health and safety assessments and any changes required as a result.
Events: Assisting with fundraising events including the annual fundraising gala dinner and internal events such as all-staff meetings, lunch and learns and staff away days
IT: Supporting with our IT platform subscriptions and work with the team and our IT provider to adapt to our needs

Role Purpose:
The Head of Finance will strengthen KICK through the strategic management of finances including day-today tasks, budgeting and reporting. The successful candidate will provide both strategic and financial guidance to ensure that KICK’s financial commitments are met excellently and accurately. The role will also involve working closely with both the senior management team as well as the board of Trustees in order to maintain and grow a solid foundation for KICK to grow.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
· The Head of finance will have the ability to collate and present the monthly accounts to the Exec team and Board based on KICK performance, as well as problem solving potential issues that arise.
· Responsible for processing and running payroll, along with sessional payments and expenses on a monthly basis.

· The Head of Finance will be responsible for the annual budget and holding budget holders account on their spend.

· Responsible for the management of our Book Keeper to ensure invoices are issued and bank accounts reconciled in a timely manner.
Person Specification:
Proven Experience
- A degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior executive role.

- Experience of complex and multi-dimensional problem solving whilst having a clear knowledge of the options, impacts, risks when suggesting a resolution.

The key responsibilities will be:
- Support decision making by providing budget holders and stakeholders with timely, accurate and meaningful financial management information.

Essential requirements:
- Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAEW, ICAS or comparable other)
- Experience of overseeing a small finance team, financial systems and processes
- Experience in ensuring sound financial management across an organisation through the development and maintenance of strong financial systems, control, and accountability;
- Expertise in both strategic and annual business planning through to monitoring and reporting against core business aims

Please note charity experience is highly desirable but not essential.

Over the last few years, NHYC has grown to a team of over 70 staff. Mission Without Borders (MWBI) is an international network of Christians who journey with the poor and marginalized, bringing practical and spiritual support with hope of a better future, enabling and encouraging people to lift themselves out of poverty, always sharing the hope found in Jesus Christ. We serve people without regard to their religion or ethnic background.
Mission Without Borders International leads and co-ordinates the work of six countries in Eastern Europe where we conduct our program work and twelve countries where we raise support for these programs and associated MWBI costs. An international executive team (IET) supports this work in terms of program maintenance and development, fundraising, communications, finance, risk management and compliance and it and digital.
Purpose of role
The overarching governing body of the Mission is the Board of Mission Without Borders International. The International Board are seeking a senior International Fundraising Director who will help drive our fundraising strategy by strengthening and diversifying our fundraising sources. The Mission requires an experienced leader with a proven track record in international fundraising who will inspire our international fundraising teams to differentiate and grow income as we enter this new phase of strategic growth.
The International Fundraising Director will provide leadership, oversight and guidance to the Mission’s National Fundraising Directors. They will: implement and manage the diversification of income, including major donor income and field sourced income; work closely with the digital team in fundraising and communication; engage with field countries on beneficiary management and sponsor engagement; lead on impact reporting and work with other members of IET to lead the executive and operational elements of the Mission.
A strong communicator and strategic thinker with practical fundraising experience, they will be an experienced leader and innovative thinker focused on the development of a team and capable of working well with the existing team. They will have significant practical experience of major donors, trusts and foundations, institutional, and corporate fundraising together with a deep understanding of individual fundraising through sponsorship and appeals.
Primary responsibilities
Donor development and outreach
· To provide strategic direction, leadership and drive for fundraising in all new development areas across the Mission. They will have direct responsibility for raising funds at the international level with a specific focus on driving forward major donors, trusts and institutions income as this is currently an underdeveloped source of income for the Mission. They will also lead the development of field sourced fundraising.
· Deliver strategic plans for driving income growth, diversifying income sources and improving donor engagement by incorporating traditional and digital fundraising methods.
· Lead the International Fundraising Team to deliver strategic objectives across all fundraising channels, support National Fundraising Directors, create a collaborative fundraising culture across the organization internationally, and monitor fundraising metrics to deliver growth and efficiency.

Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are a group of preventable and treatable diseases that affect about 1.65 billion people around the world. The World Health Organization currently recognises twenty diseases as NTDs.
Uniting to Combat NTDs is a global advocacy organisation that exists to end NTDs by mobilising resources in support of the World Health Organization's NTD road map and the Sustainable Development Goals. We envision a world where no-one suffers from these preventable and treatable diseases. We are hosted by Sightsavers and offer a great place to work.
In February 2023, we conducted a mid-term review of our 2021-2030 strategy to assess its continued relevance in light of the substantial global challenges that have emerged since its inception. While we re-affirmed the strategy's continued importance, we recognized the imperative of intensifying our efforts in resource mobilisation to address persistent funding gaps, the absence of dependable, long-term funding mechanisms for global NTD programs, and significant changes to the global health architecture.
Our target over the next five years is to mobilise over US$2bn towards the WHO NTD road map from a range of sources, existing and new, including from donor governments, multi-lateral development banks, affected countries, and innovative financing. Our success will be measured by the volume of funding we are able to mobilise for countries and individuals affected by NTDs.

About the role:
This is a crucial position as it will be your responsibility to ensure the growth of the charity, enabling us to support even more children and their families in Darfur, Sudan. You will be an experienced and highly motivated leader overseeing the overall development of the charity, ensuring its continued success in its next phase of the charity’s growth. You will oversee the charity’s budget to ensure the long-term financial sustainability and be responsible for the charity’s fundraising, grants, individuals and our events. You will lead a passionate and dedicated team including working with our volunteers, both in the UK and in the USA and Australia. You will also play a key role in building relationships with donors, potential donors, corporates and other stakeholders.
You will work closely with the Country Director (currently our Founder) for Darfur and oversee projects and assist recruitment in Sudan as soon as it is safe to do so. At present our Sudan staff are working from outside the country as Darfur faces extreme violence. Projects within Darfur are implemented by the Steering Committee, who are volunteer village leaders working with the charity since 2010.
Your main duties will include:
• Provide vision and leadership for the charity setting the overall vision and strategic direction, ensuring alignment with its mission and values.
• Develop and implement a strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Trustees.
• Act as the public face of the charity, undertaking a range of speaking opportunities and acting as a media spokesperson.
• Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring the effectiveness and efficient use of charity resources.

The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on finance, HR, IT, Data and operations for an ambitious social
mobility charity with an income of £1.5m and a team of 25 people committed to achieving lasting
impact for young people.
As a member of the charity’s four-person Senior Leadership Team, you will report to the CEO and be
responsible for implementing the charity strategy (with accountability for Operations projects),
financial reporting to the Board of Trustees, and championing organisational collaboration, values and
EDI.
As Director of the Operations Department, you will take on a small team - managing an Operations
Officer - to deliver and proactively develop the policies, processes and systems to equip our team to
thrive, and to build the charity’s reputation as a reliable, impactful partner.

About the Operations department
You will lead the Operations department, with responsibility for all finance, HR, recruitment, IT, legal
and operations. The team is currently comprised of:

You will also liaise with external parties who offer expert support across HR, IT and accountancy as

Your responsibilities

Leadership and Strategy
● Deliver our Operations KPIs as part of our strategy; as well as being jointly responsible for

Operations, IT and Data
● Manage our office space and future office needs;

offsites and regular full team days.
● Oversee and support the wellbeing of our team; both directly and through the Wellbeing
working group.

About you

Working arrangements:
Full-time, 35 hours per week. 30 days of annual leave (plus public holidays). Remote working from home required, with regular meetings - sometimes at short notice - in London. Flexible working, including nine-day fortnight.
