Summary of Role:
The ICT Officer will provide the first line technical support and ensures smooth ICT operations across the organisation. The role encompasses troubleshooting hardware/software and network issues, whilst managing devices via Microsoft Intune and maintaining Office 365 applications. Additionally, the ICT Officer is responsible for setting up and maintaining meeting room equipment, managing IT assets and ensuring security compliance. This hands-on position requires regular presence in the office to support the organisation’s ICT needs.
About the Role:
- Provide first-line technical support to end-users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and networking issues
- Respond to and resolve staff queries in a timely manner
- Ensure devices are up to dates, particularly with security patches and updates in the security centre.
- Assist in settings up and configuring PCs, monitors and other hardware.

- Educated to Bachelor’s degree level.
- Proven experience in a similar help desk or IT support role.

About the Organisation
Together We Learn is a small international development charity with a vision to break the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia by enabling disadvantaged children to access quality education.
We have been working closely with our Ethiopian partner organisation for over 25 years to achieve this. Our UK team is a small, close- knit team that supports the fundraising, international communications, and project delivery of the Ethiopian team.
Our approach is to work alongside state education infrastructure, addressing a range of needs related to access to and quality of education, as well as children’s wellbeing.
Our work with schools includes school infrastructure projects - providing safe, local schools - and supporting teachers with training and resources to inspire children to flourish in the classroom. We also work closely with the children, their families and communities to understand and address the issues they face at home and how these impact their ability to attend and concentrate in school.
We are at the start of a new strategic phase with a focus on building the capacity of our Ethiopian partner organisation to shift the power and be more locally-led in our work.

Project Coordinator
The Role: The Project Coordinator supports our Ethiopian Projects team deliver, monitor, evaluate and report on our various project activities. The role involves regular communication with both our regional project teams and management, supporting the team to meet project deadlines, driving continual programme improvement through monitoring, evaluation and learning, and supporting the UK Chief Executive with project reporting and funding proposals.
Reports to: Chief Executive
Hours: 15 hours per week (part-time role 40%)
Salary: £8,620 per annum (21,550 pro rata)
Location: London office, preference for hybrid working, remote applications considered, employee must be living in the UK.

Responsibilities
Supporting project delivery (70%)
- Regularly liaising with our project teams in Ethiopia to support them to monitor project deliverables alongside project plans in a timely manner and ensure changes are communicated to relevant parties
- Support with monitoring, evaluation and learning processes by ensuring monitoring and evaluation deadlines are met, collating, analysing and formatting data for review, leading discussions on impact review and supporting discussions for continuous programme development. Including managing office volunteers to support our work in these areas.
- Support the Ethiopian team to track and understand markers of good quality, sustainable projects and to continuously improve upon these.
- Supporting the Ethiopia team to develop projects, applying learning from evaluations and developing new project concepts.

POST:
Research Coordinator for the SWERV project at National Ugly Mugs (NUM)
SALARY AND HOURS:
Salary: £34,125 FTE at 0.5.
This is a 30 month contract. Specific days to be agreed on appointment. NUM are open to discussions around flexible working patterns to ensure a positive work/life balance. Operational hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for a Research Coordinator to join us at NUM to support our Sex Workers Evaluate Reporting Violence (SWERV) research project!
SWERV is a research initiative between health researchers at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and National Ugly Mugs (NUM), in collaboration with Brunel University. Together, with the meaningful involvement of sex workers across the UK, we will evaluate how membership and engagement with NUM services affects sex workers’ safety, mental health and wellbeing.
About NUM:
National Ugly Mugs (NUM) is an award-winning charity with a mission to ‘end all forms of violence against sex workers.’ NUM provides a mechanism for sex industry workers to report crimes and harm they experience and share this information within their communities to warn others of potentially dangerous individuals and situations.
We have a dedicated casework team of industry experts who support sex workers to further access criminal justice remedies and other services as determined by victims/survivors to cope and recover from crimes they experience in the ways they choose. We also host a range of other projects in racial justice, mental health, drop-in support (Scotland), and vocational exploration.
About the project:
The SWERV project is a multi-year research collaboration between NUM and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. We will study how NUM’s alerts, the NUMchecker, reporting and casework (‘interventions’) affect sex workers’ safety and mental health, through five work packages A-E. We will interview sex workers who have and who haven’t used NUM, and service providers, about their views and experiences of NUM’s services, to understand who benefits from the interventions, how and why (‘qualitative process evaluation’ – work package B). We will ask new NUM members, and sex workers who aren’t members, to fill in a questionnaire twice, six months apart. The questionnaire will ask about violence, safety strategies, and mental health, to compare the experiences of sex workers who do and don’t use the alerts and the NUMchecker (‘impact evaluation’ – work package C). We will estimate value for money, by calculating how much the interventions cost to run and comparing this to no intervention, in terms of preventing violence against sex workers and improving their quality of life (‘economic evaluation’ – work package D). We will use the information to understand how NUM’s services work in different places and for different people, depending on their circumstances and the wider environment. We will take the ‘DEPTH’ approach which involves ‘dialogue’ workshops with sex workers and practitioners to design the research and recommendations together (work packages A and E). Together, we will use what we learn to recommend how to improve community-based violence prevention and survivor support services ‘by and for’ sex workers.
Person Specification
A successful candidate should:
· Have demonstrable experience and understanding of sex work, sex worker rights and self-determination, and be in good standing with the sex worker rights and sex work research communities in the UK
· Have a clear understanding of how intersecting factors including criminalisation, stigma, systemic racism, gender, disability, poverty, mental health and access to resources influence sex workers’ lived experiences, how they may engage with services and research, and their access to public services and police protection
· Be familiar with all aspects of the charity sector, the work of National Ugly Mugs and other sex worker-serving and sex worker-led organisations.
· Have knowledge of systemic racism as it operates within the UK and be embedded within an anti-racist and anti-oppressive framework, whether this be through previous work, activism or personal life experiences
· Have experience leading or coordinating projects and a comfortability with qualitative and/or quantitative data collection (e.g. surveys, interviews, focus groups) and management, including participant recruitment.
· Have experience of organising and/or delivering events/workshops/outputs to share research/practice with communities and seek their input/feedback
· Have commitment to participatory research principles
· Have a commitment to NUM’s core principles of Sex Workers First, Quality Support and Learning and Innovation
· Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
· Have experience working independently and leading projects.

It is desirable, but not essential, that a successful candidate should also:
· Have experience of collaborating with different partner organisations (e.g. peer-led organisations, services, universities)

Senior Fundraiser
Friends of Ibba Girls School, South Sudan (UK charity number 1146220)
Friends of Ibba Girls School, South Sudan (FIGS), was established in 2011 in response to a specific request from local community leaders to help them build and develop a girls’ residential school in South Sudan. Ibba Girls Boarding School (IGBS) now educates 360 primary and secondary school girls from across the whole of Western Equatoria State and employs 40 staff (teachers, matrons, cooks and other support staff). The school is on a large, green campus and provides not only high-quality teaching but a visible demonstration of the benefits of school education in South Sudan, where most girls leave school before the end of primary and very few achieve secondary qualifications. FIGS is a relatively small organization but it is making a substantial impact by providing a model of good quality girls’ schooling across South Sudan.
FIGS has achieved notable successes – the school which opened in 2014, initially with 40 girls, has now reached its full size of 360 girls, with excellent exam results and has reduced dropout from school. It is nurturing empowered women who can exercise leadership locally and nationally for this newly independent nation. FIGS works closely with the experienced and widely-acclaimed Windle Trust International, who provide technical financial and organizational support to the school in South Sudan.
FIGS has raised about £4 million over the last 10 years, particularly through relational fundraising. Running costs for a boarding school in South Sudan are around £ 1/3 million each year, so fundraising is a key task for FIGS.
This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced fundraiser with a strong and demonstrable track record to play a crucial role in expanding the donor base of FIGS, while sustaining and engaging the large network of existing supporters and donors. You will lead the fundraising work and will use your skills across a wide range of fundraising functions, including expanding the number and range of individuals, corporates, philanthropists, schools, churches, legacies and trusts.
We need the help of a talented individual to implement FIGS’ fundraising strategy and action plan, working with those Trustees who are able to give some time to fundraising and with solid help from a part-time fundraising consultant. There is plenty to enjoy in the varied work, where one can see visible results in the impact it has on the school, its students and staff, parents and communities across Western Equatoria State and across the nation of South Sudan.
The post can be undertaken on a full-time or part-time basis (where part-time is at least 3 days a week). It will be on a self-employed consultancy basis. Hours can be flexible by arrangement. The person will work mainly from home, liaising online with Trustees and others, but some travel to events in London and elsewhere will be needed on an occasional basis. We are looking for someone to start as soon as mutually convenient. A contract will be one year in the first instance, and can be renewed subject to satisfactory performance. The remuneration as a self-employed person is in the range of £35-42K dependent on track record and experience (or pro rata).
Key responsibilities
· To support the delivery of the fundraising plan, achieving or exceeding targets and KPIs, both financial and non-financial as agreed with the Chair of FIGS Trustees and Chair of its fundraising group.
· To identify and generate new fundraising opportunities, from the corporate and philanthropic sectors, as well as from organizations, groups and individuals
· To widen the existing network of donors, based on relationship development and management and engagement with existing supporters and donors, and creating new opportunities
