Responsibilities:

These include

1. To actively seek a thorough understanding of the membership base and the issues affecting them, creating member profiles and advising and briefing stakeholders accordingly.
2. To develop a compelling offer by profile / career stage so as to maintain and improve member retention and engagement levels, and to maximise new member acquisition.
3. To maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of services and activities and ensure these are being packaged and communicated in the most effective way.
4. To oversee the implementation of regular market research, including competitor analysis, to identify members/stakeholder needs, to support the rationale for the development of member products and services, and to liaise with and advise other stakeholders as appropriate.
5. To develop member communications in particular around membership renewals and the on-boarding of new members, and to ensure a high-quality member experience.
6. To ensure that membership communications at all touch points within the membership journey or as part of a non-member relationship, remain relevant and up to date.
7. To oversee the new member and renewal process, which is managed by our external partner, and troubleshoot and resolve issues that they cannot

Personal Specification: 

Essential skills, knowledge and qualities: 

1. Experience of working in a customer, member or client facing role
2. Experience of developing and maintaining strong professional relationships with a range of stakeholders
3. Experience of using a CRM management system, preferably Salesforce
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to positively communicate with a wide range of people in a professional setting, with demonstrable ability to communicate effectively in challenging situations
5. Excellent planning, coordination, organisational and time management skills
6. The ability to analyse data and produce reports
7. The ability to take a proactive approach to independent working, managing your own workstreams effectively, and the confidence to take responsibility for tasks and decisions

Desirable skills, experience, and qualities:

• Interest and/or understanding of the immigration law sector in the UK
• Experience of implementing change and working with others to create new ways of working

Your Role: Membership, Programmes and Events Support Assistant (Fixed Term Contract)

Contract: Fixed Term for six months - November 2024 to April 2025. We are open to applications from a PhD student or Early Career Academic.

Hours: 21 (0.6FTE). The post holder will also be expected to attend and support the PSA25 Annual Conference taking place in Birmingham from 14 -16 April 2025. 

Salary:  0.6 FTE of £25k. The post holder will additionally be compensated for in-person attendance and providing support during the Annual Conference period.

Location: All roles are based at our offices in Camden London but the PSA currently supports its staff to work remotely. Post-holders will be required, however, to come into our offices regularly (normally once a week on a Wednesday). The Membership, Programmes and Events team is a friendly bunch who work closely together with responsibility for operations and output across a wide range of our activities. These include: membership, networks, specialist groups, programmes, communications, events including the Annual Lecture and PSA Annual Conference. We are looking for someone to join the team in the six-month run up to, and including attendance at, the PSA25 Annual Conference which is our major event of the year.

Your role and responsibilities:

In terms of the PSA Annual Conference these may include, but are not limited to:

· Responding to standard/general conference email enquiries

· Communicating information and instructions to all participants

· Supporting logistics, operations and communication of information to participants via Ex Ordo (abstract management system) and our virtual conference platform

· Monitoring Ex Ordo data - for example, identifying whether someone is a paper-giver or not and emailing participants for clarification where necessary

· Communicating information and instructions to all participants

· Supporting exhibitors by communicating deadlines and details for their conference space

· Organising catering requirements to cover the conference schedule

· Sourcing venues and menu choices for the Conference Dinner and Conference Drinks events

· Supporting the award of PSA academic prizes including production of certificates

· Monitoring the Prizes in-box and helping with the response to any enquiries

· Collating Academic Prizes nominations made via JotForm for trustees and prize judges

· Joining the team in Birmingham to manage the Annual Conference, including the one-day Undergraduate conference

In terms of Membership, Networks and Specialist Groups these may include, but are not limited to:

· Supporting the reconciliation of membership data in readiness for our new database

· Assisting with general email enquiries and emailing all/specific groups of members

· Helping to prepare the data for the issue of December/January membership renewals and recording appropriately on the database

· Responding to general/standard emails from our Specialist Groups

· Replying to enquiries/requests from our Early Career Network and Teaching & Learning Network

· Facilitating Specialist Group and Network digital events including arranging Zooms as required

· Collating articles/announcements for the regular e-newsletter

Additional information: there are currently seven members of PSA staff under the leadership of the CEO. This post reports to the Membership, Events & Programmes Manager who works with two Officers in the team.

MediCinema is a unique national, UK registered charity that improves the wellbeing and enriches the quality of life of NHS patients, their families and carers through the power of the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. We achieve this by building and running cinemas in hospitals and places of care equipped with space for beds, wheelchairs and medical equipment, and providing free films and activities for patients of all ages. Our services help to improve emotional, mental and physical health, reducing isolation, anxiety and stress, and increasing patient resilience to help them cope with what they’re going through.

Our purpose-built in-hospital cinemas are designed to accommodate patients in hospital beds and wheelchairs, on drips or with monitors. The Role

We are looking for a Deputy Cinema Manager to join the existing team at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

The post-holder will work with the Cinema Manager and the team of nurses and volunteers who support our MediCinema, and will work closely with them, the hospital, and with central office operations team to prepare for and run successful film screenings each week.

We run 4 regular inpatient screenings each week which includes evenings and weekends. The roleholder will be required to work on Saturdays as one of the two days to be worked each week. There will also be a programme of additional Tailored and Personal screenings on top of these regular inpatient screenings.

The role offers a unique, exciting and extremely rewarding opportunity for someone interested in a service delivery role at the heart of our charity, involving direct contact with the patients and families we support.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Service Delivery

• Support the Cinema Manager in delivering a programme of screenings each week as agreed according to the operating procedures of a MediCinema, including running and managing screenings on your own. Most screenings are held in the evenings and at weekends so the role requires regular evening and Saturday working.
• On screening days be responsible for:
  • Marketing the service through the hospital’s wards, organising collecting and returning patients, and for safety and care in the cinema itself.

About the charity: Cavernomas look like raspberries and are found in the brain and spinal cord.  They're formed of abnormal blood vessels with thin leaky walls, which can bleed at any age without warning.  1 in 625 people are thought to have a cavernoma, and whilst most people won't experience symptoms 1 in 2,700 do.  Symptoms can include haemorrhages, seizures and other neurological problems.  Treatment involves 'wait and see', neurosurgery or stereotactic radiosurgery; with no medications currently available.

We work from a model of empowerment, recognising the value of our members’ lived experience to provide mutual support, improve standards of care and drive research into finding a cure.

Since the charity was founded in 2005 it has grown from a volunteer-led organisation based in Dorchester to a UK wide registered charity that now has 2 part-time permanent staff, looking to increase to 4 Part-time staff (all home-based), 50+ volunteers, and 4,000+ members. Our support services include a helpline, buddying, counselling, online support groups, meet-ups, webinars, lectures, newsletter, leaflets, website and social media. 

About the roles: The Member Support Assistant is responsible for assisting our Volunteer Manager with administration relating to the support of the charity’s 4,000 members and volunteers.  This includes offering a professional service to members of CAUK, typically via phone, email, online, chat, or on occasion in person. The role involves supporting the membership and volunteering processes, ensuring all admin is accurate and up to date.  Over time the post-holder will be expected to build a good working knowledge of members and volunteers.  They will also be expected to develop strong communication skills, including active listening, alongside the ability to multitask, manage time and prioritise.

The Training, Education and Development (TED) Team has been established to promote and deliver high-quality evidenced-based education to external stakeholders and internally to Hospice staff, which will help transform the care of people in the communities we serve and beyond. The TED Education Centre staff provide essential support to the rest of the TED Team and are integral to the smooth running and day-to-day operation of the Education Centre and TED service. They work as a team to cover core duties at all times and essential role specific duties during planned and unplanned absences. The team is co-ordinated on a day-to-day basis by the Centre Manager.

The coordinator roles are vital components of this project. We want to attract candidates from the South West of England with sound local knowledge and able to travel in the region - these will be important parts of this job.

Purpose of the roles:

• To be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of Neighbourhood Watch’s partner project involving Neighbourhood Watch volunteers within the South West.
• Recruit, training and coordinate volunteers so they can deliver information sessions to community groups. 
• Research areas in needs of support and book venues where information sessions will be delivered by volunteers.
• Be able to travel to events in order to support volunteers and ensuring information sessions are delivered to the highest and consistent standards, and that feedback requests are acted upon swiftly.

Hours of employment are:

0.8FTE (28 hours per week)
8 months fixed term contract. Core hours are Monday to Friday 10am-12pm and 2-4pm with an unpaid lunch break.

A full, clean UK driving license use of a car and availability to attend the events if required. You will need to be able to drive around Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.

We are excited to be recruiting a Philanthropy Manager to join our Fundraising Team. This is a new role which will be instrumental in setting us up well to grow income from major donors over the coming years. We are looking for an experienced major donor fundraiser, who can bring their skills and expertise to take this strand of fundraising to the next level. The role is being recruited on a fixed term basis, with a possibility to convert it to a permanent post after 12 months, subject to performance.

The Philanthropy Manager will build relationships and secure funding from high-net-worth individuals, working closely with the Director of Philanthropy, CEO, and a newly established fundraising committee to develop this area of fundraising. This will involve developing new events and stewardship opportunities to create engaging experiences for prospective and existing supporters. The post will report into the Director of Philanthropy.

This role can be based at any of our four Brilliant Club offices, located in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Cardiff. We expect some travel will be required (mainly to London) for events and to attend in-person meetings.

• Has a track record of building funder relationships and securing income from major donors, ideally in the education or social mobility sector

The City and Guilds of London  Art School is a small, independent Higher Education Institute. It traces its history back to the 1850s and has strong links to a number of City Livery Companies as well as certain Trusts and Foundations and individual donors. The Art School is now seeking a Development and External Relations Manager to drive forward its activities in these areas in accordance with our strategy and targets.  A key aspect of the role is nurturing existing and developing new relationships within the Art School’s expanding base of supporters and collaborators, including through the organisation of events.  We are looking for a self-starter with substantial experience of working in a fundraising role in the cultural or similar sector, and who can work on their own initiative as a key member of the Art School’s senior management team.
