Who we are
The Political Studies Association of the UK is the second largest learned society in the world dedicated to the study of politics.
Since its creation in 1950 we have always advocated a set of common principles that promote the intellectual, social and public value of the study of politics. As a result, British expertise on politics is recognised around the world for its scholarly quality, its openness and – most of all – for its ability to bridge both ‘politics in theory’ and ‘politics in practice’.
