About the role

You will lead on the delivery of a portfolio of virtual and DIY fundraising events, including our Facebook Challenges and growing Swim It campaign, with the objective of raising over £6m for people living with cancer.

You will be responsible for recruitment through paid and organic marketing and providing a sector-leading stewardship journey to ensure our supporters feel engaged and inspired from the moment they sign-up, working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve this. You will also be responsible for line management of 1 direct report, supporting them to inspire a high level of performance.

This role does require weekend work (although not at your desk) as you’ll be out and about cheering on our participants. You will be compensated for your weekend work with days in lieu.

Please note, the internal job title for this role is Challenge Events Programme Manager.

About you:

• Experience of delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns or management of complex projects, in line with agreed budgets and schedules

The Willow Major Events Team hosts a range of events to engage Willow’s key supporters. These range in large-scale events such as the Willow Ball and London Football Awards, to smaller more intimate events such as Golf and Shoot Days.

Job purpose

• This role will support the delivery of Willow’s programme of Major Events, as well as supporting third party events, ensuring that these promote and present Willow in a professional and compelling manner, maximising opportunities for donor cultivation, fundraising and maximising income generation.
• To work with the Events Manager on delivering events to an exceptional standard.
• To lead on auction procurement and fulfilment to maximise fundraising revenue.

Key responsibilities

Core Events

• To support the events strategy through delivery of high-quality events, designed to attract current and new supporters.
• To support the Events Fundraising Manager in ensuring that each event plan is actioned in a timely and efficient manner, as well as working with external suppliers, ensuring all suppliers work to agreed terms and conditions
• To assist in the research, development and planning of potential new event opportunities, ensuring that the events programme evolves in response to new fundraising requirements, opportunities and sector trends.
• With support from Event Manager, lead on events within the portfolio, working with key stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring delivery of a high-quality event.

Auction

• Lead on securing auction prizes for relevant events, developing relationships with key supporters and external businesses to secure exclusive and desirable auction items.
• Manage the auction fulfilment process, ensuring all auction winners are thanked post event and that lots are fulfilled in a timely manner.
• Oversee online auction platform, ensuring accurate listings, engaging descriptions and looking for ways to maximise income.

Event Supporter Stewardship

• Provide support on guest management, ensuring a smooth process for guests during the lead up to and on the day of the event.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, guests and stakeholders ensuring excellent stewardship and recognition
• To identify opportunities to engage or recruit new event supporters to existing or new events in the Willow calendar.

General

• To support the Events Manager with financial management of each event, supporting on areas such as: budgeting, planning, controlling and monitoring expenditure as appropriate and managing income against targets, KPI’s and provide regular revised projections as required.
• To maintain good practice in the use of database system (Raiser’s Edge), including the events module, ensuring that information is recorded accurately to allow for excellent supporter care, stewardship and accurate analysis of event performance.
• To keep up to date with current competitor activity, potential new opportunities for events and improved ways of managing and developing events.
• To keep up to date and comply with fundraising, data protection and other relevant legislation and codes of practice and good standards.

Job Overall Goal: The Event Manager plays a key role in planning, organising, and executing impactful programs and events that align with the charity’s objectives. Under the direction of the Global Programs Manager, this role ensures that each event is delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.

The Event Manager will be responsible for end-to-end event coordination and administration, supporting global programs through strategic planning, logistical execution, and project-based collaboration. Collaborating with the Global Programs team to provide insights and recommendations for improvements. The Maclellan Foundation’s comprehensive global programme and event initiatives include:

Key Responsibilities:

• Programme Coordination: Plan and coordinate multiple programmes to ensure key milestones are met with excellence.

As our Product Events Executive, you will be working across our portfolio of amazing third-party events, including Cardiff Half Marathon, Edinburgh Marathon Festival and Bath Half Marathon. You will successfully manage the full delivery of your portfolio, including recruitment, stewardship and event day activations.

You will plan and deliver sector-leading stewardship for our supporters, bringing the events to life and encouraging participants to fundraise for the charity.

Working closely with the Product Manager, and the wider product deliver team, to deliver your own product portfolio over the long-term and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships to ensure resource and continued portfolio growth.

Sitting within the Supporter Led Fundraising (SLF) department, the Sporting Events Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing over £3.5m income from individuals and groups fundraising through mass participation events including The London Marathon, International Marathons, The Great North Run, Threshold Events and more!

As one of two Sporting Event Managers, you will join a busy and successful team of 10 responsible for the delivery and optimisation of our events portfolio. We are looking for an exceptional individual, who will lead on the planning, project management and delivery of ARUK’s flagship third-party events, including London Landmarks, Own Place in Event Fundraising and challenge events.

This is a line management role, currently responsible for 4 direct reports and the strategic oversight of the events they manage. You will work closely with the other Sporting Event Manager to ensure consistency with supporter stewardship, manage budgets and support in financial planning, review team capacity and identify and manage priorities throughout the event calendar year, ensuring efficiency and a first-class supporter experience, with an overall goal of maximising income for dementia research.

You will be an integral part of the SLF Managers Team, helping drive our ambitious organisation growth and ultimately helping us find a cure. The role is managed by the Head of Sporting Events & Volunteering (HoSV).

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Line Management

· Line management of the high performing 2x Sporting Events Officers and 2x Sporting Events Executives; inspiring and driving their success to ensure they remain highly motivated in their roles, achieve their targets and play a key part in the performance of the wider Sporting Events Team, and Alzheimer’s Research UK.

· Monitor, review, and empower direct reports to ensure effective communication across the wider team and with key stakeholders e.g. volunteering, RFO’s and wider SLF.

· Support your direct line reports in their development, helping them to spot opportunities for growth.

 

Monitoring and Reporting

· Manage the Sporting team’s income and expenditure budget, including monthly reporting, and supporting HoSV with monthly reforecasts, and annual budget and operational plan setting.

· Review participation and income against event targets to track impact, ROI and cost income ratio and report back to HoSV regularly.

· Ensure the fundraising CRM (salesforce) is being used effectively to facilitate accurate supporter stewardship and financial reporting.

· Use data insights and trends to support the HoSV in budgeting, forecasting and event portfolio reviews.

· Continue to review and be willing to change Sporting Event Team processes and contribute to wider organisational process changes where necessary.

· Support the embedding of our CRM system: Salesforce, including writing processes and ensuring CRM best practice across the team.

 

Relationship Management

· Build and maintain excellent working relationships with our third-party event providers and identify new opportunities and ensure all avenues are being optimised for ARUK.

· Identify and steward alongside the Regional Fundraising Officers’ high-value supporters to ensure we are spotting opportunities beyond their current event.

· Work collaboratively within SLF, to ensure all fundraising opportunities are shared and communicated and resources are available.

· Work closely with the Marketing & Engagement Team to brief in marketing requirements, share trends, learnings, and results to optimise future activities.

· Work closely with managers from SLF Departments and work together as a management team to support on the strategic direction of ARUK, as well as deliver any tactical projects.

· Support and consult with any cross functional teams to deliver our third-party events portfolio.

 

Strategy & Operational Planning

· Work in consultation with the HoSV to develop the sporting events strategy and annual tactical plan for ARUK to continue to build income in this area.

· Work with HoSV to further develop our events strategy for 2026 onwards.

· Stay abreast of sector sporting events activity to ensure effective positioning and marketing of events.

Stewardship and Supporter experience:

· Plan and deliver an excellent communications journey for sporting event participants including exploring new technologies and how we can talk to our supporters in the way most effective and relevant to them- whether that be email, phone, face to face or SMS. Whilst also ensuring it aligns with wider stewardship goals with the charity and future cross-sell asks.

· Attend third-party events and oversee appropriate staff and volunteer representation to give the maximum brand presence and give the supporters the best possible event day experience e.g. Cambridge Half, London Marathon, London Landmarks, Great North Run and any other events where we need staff.

· Work with the wider SLF team to share best practise, ‘surprise and delight’ success and re-engagement activity to help drive long-term loyalty.

· Work with Regional Fundraising Officers, Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships teams to pass over warm and relevant supporters at the best points in their individual stewardship journeys.

· Work alongside Data and Insights Teams to understand the potential lifetime value of our sporting events participants and ensure opportunities are developed for supporters to hold a long-term fundraising relationship with ARUK.

 

What we are looking for:

· Experience of delivering mass participation fundraising, in particular managing high-profile/ large third-party event partnerships

· Great knowledge and passion for building excellent supporter relationships and ensuring supporters feel valued and thanked appropriately.

· Good practice and understanding of GDPR and compliance.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

THE ROLE

The full-time Creative Communications and Events Officer works within the Communications team to help inform the public about antisemitism using a variety of media.

You will be joining our small, fast-paced, entrepreneurial staff team based at our office in central London.

The role brings a diverse set of responsibilities and an opportunity to work within a charitable organisation with a strong sense of purpose.

Responsibilities

• You will design graphics across our organisation, from social media posts and placards to pamphlets to pledge cards
• Work with creative colleagues to conceive and implement a variety communications campaigns to raise awareness about antisemitism and educate the public, sometimes at short notice and with tight deadlines
• Provide logistical support for communications projects, including scouting and booking locations, ordering materials, liaising with third parties and conducting internal research
• Plan, script, shoot and edit videos on various topics for different audiences on our numerous social media channels
• Growing our social media presence, including paid campaigns, to maximise reach and engagement
• Play a significant role in podcast production, from researching and booking guests to audio and visual editing
• Strategically planning and executing key events for the organisation throughout the year, ensuring maximum impact
• Design merchandise for our website and oversee the logistical aspect of sales
• Measure and analyse performance and outcomes of campaigns to increase reach and effectiveness

The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences – is seeking an Events Manager (Public Engagement) to join the Communications and Marketing department to devise and deliver the year-round public engagement programme.

The role

The role will be responsible for the planning, management and delivery of programmes designed to support researchers to develop their skills and experience in public engagement as a route to impact. This includes the annual flagship Summer Showcase festival, the nationwide public engagement funding scheme SHAPE, Involve and Engage, and key partnerships and collaborations with other organisations in the sector.

You will work closely with the Head of Events and Public Engagement on the strategic development of these programmes and will be responsible for supporting and guiding researchers to develop high-quality, innovative projects which provide meaningful opportunities for two-way dialogue with the public about their research and the humanities and social sciences more broadly.

About you

You will be someone who has passion and experience of delivering high-quality public engagement activities and who thrives in the ‘live’ environment of events and other public-facing activities. You will be equally as comfortable with planning, including developing frameworks for monitoring and evaluation.

You will also have experience in managing and developing people, whether directly managing staff or leading on a task with a dotted-line basis. A core part of this role is working in partnership with both internal teams and external organisations, and so we are looking for someone who is collegiate and flexible and who understands how to build positive working relationships across a diverse range of skillsets and experiences.

The role

The role is heavily focused on challenge events, with a combination of responsibilities across product management and event delivery.

You will:

• Be responsible for delivering the income target and best possible supporter experience to our Team Scope participants in the 2025 Great North Run event. You will also be involved in marketing activity to fill remaining event places.
• Work with the Data and Supporter Experience teams to review and resolve data gaps, issues and data quality concerns regarding challenge events participants data on our CRM (Microsoft Dynamics 365). 
• Develop an effective marketing plan, including test and learn activity, to increase numbers of participants in non-flagship challenge events for Scope. 
• Support the Supporter Care team in providing our community and events supporters with an excellent experience.
