About The Access Project

The Access Project is an education charity; we believe that every young person can make the most of education, unlocking their potential and creating a fairer society.

We support over 1,800 young people aged 14 to 18 across 40 schools. Our mission is to support students from under-resourced backgrounds to access top universities, through a unique combination of tuition and in-school mentoring. We work with them to make good applications, get the grades and transition to university.

We employ 70 people who work in locations in London, the Midlands, Yorkshire and the North West. We will turn over approximately £3.7 million in this financial year and our funding comes from a range of sources including: schools, businesses, major donors and grant-making trusts. 

The programme combats educational inequality and improves social mobility by raising students’ grades and supporting them to understand the pathway to a top university. Students who receive support from our programme are almost twice as likely to attend top universities as statistically similar students, according to UCAS.

We are looking for an ambitious, experienced Head of Corporate Partnerships with a track record of winning, retaining, and developing high value partnerships.

The Access Project has established partnerships with leading companies who are committed to social mobility, equality, diversity and inclusion, and want to provide real impact for young people. We have a fantastic volunteer tutor programme at the heart of The Access Project which provides engagement opportunities for employees of corporate partners. We have identified corporate funding as one of our largest growth areas. This role will take a lead in developing and driving forward our business partnerships strategy.

The successful candidate will be passionate about levelling the playing field for disadvantaged young people in education. You will be an exceptional relationship builder and communicator, able to motivate companies to support our mission. You will be an experienced manager of people with the ability to build a supportive, creative and inspiring environment for the corporate partnerships function. You will contribute positively to the culture at The Access Project and work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to achieve our strategic goals.

What you’ll be responsible for

Leadership and management

• Working closely with the Fundraising and Communications Director to develop a corporate partnerships plan that focuses on the acquisition of corporate partnerships and excellent account management of existing partnerships, resulting in renewals and uplift in value.
• Leading, supporting and inspiring a team of two (Corporate Partnerships Manager and Fundraising Co-ordinator) to deliver the corporate partnerships strategy and individual giving strategy.
• Developing objectives and targets for the corporate partnerships team and ensuring accurate and timely reporting against these.
• Ensuring effective team use of Salesforce for relationship management, data management and providing information for financial reporting and audit purposes.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge and adherence to latest legislation, especially Fundraising legislation relating to corporate fundraising and best practice guidelines issued by the Fundraising Regulator, and GDPR. 

New business development

• Periodically refreshing our corporate offer with creative ideas, proposals and content to inspire decision makers. 
• Winning new business for The Access Project at the 5 and 6 figure level with support from the Director of Fundraising and Communications and the CEO/Executive team and Board.
• Managing the preparation and submission of major corporate partnership bids and coordinating internal teams to contribute effectively. 
• Leading research and development to identify new fundraising opportunities.
• Ensuring high quality and inspiring communications and materials are produced in accordance with brand guidelines.

Account management and stewardship 

• Delivering successful partnerships in your portfolio through excellent account management to maximise fundraising and volunteering potential and retain partners. 
• Ensuring corporate partnerships are celebrated through working with Communications colleagues. 
• Working collaboratively with the wider Fundraising Team, Volunteer Team, Programmes Team and other functions to deliver a fantastic partner experience and ensure an integrated and joined up approach.

About the GOC

We are the regulator for the optical professions in the UK. Our purpose is to protect the public by promoting high standards of education, performance and conduct.

About the Hearings Panel
The Hearings Panel’s work relates to our Fitness to Practise functions. The Panel consists of around 70 members, lay (non-registrant) and registrant, from whom members of our Fitness to Practise Committees (FtPCs) and Registration Appeals Committees (RACs) are drawn. As a lay chair member of our Hearings Panel, you will chair either FtPCs or RACs.

You do not have to be a legally qualified individual or have specialist medical knowledge for this role. We are looking for individuals who can chair meetings effectively and impartially, ensure that allegations are considered fairly and independently, and that standards are maintained for registrants and the protection of the public.

A FtPC considers whether a registrant’s fitness to practise is impaired and imposes sanctions if appropriate to do so. This includes considering allegations, hearing evidence, and determining the fitness to practise, train or carry on business of our registrants.

A FtPC also determines whether it is necessary for interim measures (suspension or conditions) to be put in place whilst an investigation is in progress for the protection of members of the public or in the interests of a registrant.

A RAC considers an appeal against a decision by our Registrar to refuse to enter or restore an individual or business to the appropriate register; and applications for restoration by former registrants who have been erased by the FtPC.

Remuneration and time commitment

This role requires a commitment of approximately 16-20 days per year, including time spent preparing for meetings. Meetings will usually take place via MS teams, but on occasion may be held at our offices in Central London.

A daily fee of £372 is paid in line with our member fees policy and member fee schedule, and expenses can also be claimed.

In this varied and fast-paced role, you will be responsible for developing relationships with key media outlets, in order to raise awareness of domestic abuse and drive social change. Never before has domestic abuse been so well profiled and recognised – and we need to harness this public and political awareness to drive real change for women and their children.

Homemaker Southwest provides independent advice and support to people who require help in finding, setting up or maintaining accommodation throughout Devon.

As a Money Advice Caseworker, you will be responsible for delivering high quality support services to clients across Devon, by telephone and face-to face, to sustain tenancies and prevent eviction wherever possible, with due regard to Homemaker’s policies and procedures.

You will have experience providing money advice to individuals at risk of homelessness and contemporary knowledge of debt solutions and welfare benefits.

Important qualities include strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and empower others, and the capacity to simplify complex information for clients. While most appointments will be conducted over the phone, some clients will require in-home visits, so the job demands flexibility to travel and work from different locations, necessitating the use of a personal vehicle

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Work with clients

• Ensure that clients receive a prompt and professional service.
• Provide advice and assistance through a range of channels: face-to-face, by phone, or by email. Seeing clients in office and at outreach locations and visiting clients in their own homes as required.
• Receive and respond to referrals from identified agencies in accordance with prevailing guidelines/funding.
• Provide support to clients including preparing accurate financial statements, budgeting advice, progression of debt options, advising on court proceedings for debt recovery and repossessions, and income maximisation to ensure take up of benefits and options such as backdating, overpayment and sanction challenges, appeals and representation if required.
• Keep the client at the centre of every case; check the client’s understanding and communication needs, agree on an action plan with clarity on who is doing what, encourage the client to be involved with actions as appropriate, keep the client informed of progress of case, and ensure cases are concluded in a positive way.
• Communicate and negotiate on clients’ behalf with third parties as appropriate.
• Give support in the sustainment of any tenancy, as appropriate.
• Ensure clients understand the terms of any tenancy or other legal obligation entered, or about to be entered into.
• Take a holistic approach to issues presented and signpost/refer to other services to help ensure that the advice and other support needs of the client are addressed appropriately.
• ·Ensure clients are encouraged to give feedback on the service they receive and take on any comments on ways we could improve the service.

• Work closely with partner agencies

Main Purpose of the Job

The Digital Enabler will work with the District Leadership Team and the Communications Officer to build the digital communications capacity of the District at every level, to facilitate effective participation by all members in the life of the church in the North West District, and to make use of new opportunities for mission and community-building in the digital sphere.

Key Responsibilities

1.Ensure that the District leadership is able to fulfil its responsibilities by ensuring there are reliable digital platforms for online, live-streamed and recorded meetings and events, for electronic dissemination of information (via web, social media and mailings), and audio and video recording and sharing..

2.Enable all members of churches in the District to have the opportunity for participation in District forums and events, and to receive information from their District and Circuits.

3.Co-operate with District and Circuit leaders, ministers and pioneers in the development of new forms of mission and church communities using a range of digital resources.

Key Tasks

Training and Support

1.Create a digital strategy for the District, identifying the essential resources and support needed to enable full participation at every level, and the opportunities for missional work in the online world.

2.Support the administration and governance of the District by facilitating online synods, committees and consultations.

3.Build a network of “digital champions” within Circuits and provide advice and support for local training and capacity building.

4.Devise and deliver online training courses for Circuits and churches.

5.Develop a “Digital Community of Practice” across the District, and linking where appropriate across the Connexion, which will envisage and create new ways of being and growing church in the digital age.

6.Work with safeguarding officers to raise awareness of digital safeguarding issues, and create usable information and guidelines for Circuits and churches.

Facilities and Resources

1.Work with the Communications Officer in building and maintaining the District’s online presence, including the website and social media.

2.Develop a range of digital tools and resources for the use of the District and its Circuits, and assist in their implementation. (These could include servicing local website and social media initiatives, plan-making and emailing applications.)

3.Collect and disseminate information on digital specialists in the District who can serve Circuits and churches. (This could include graphic designers, web and database programmers, audio-visual and streaming experts and others.)

Events and Online Communities

1.Provide technical support for online and live-streamed District events, including advertising, registration and ticketing, online and streaming facilities.

2.Work with the Mission Area Leads, Circuits and pioneers in implementing digital services, online communities and missional initiatives.

Personal Training and Growth

1.Maintain an awareness of changes in digital applications and resources, and consider how they can be used in the District.

2.Identify opportunities to expand knowledge and understanding, including by appropriate courses.

3.Reflect theologically on issues around faith in the digital world, and the opportunities for sharing the gospel by these means.

ID: 1223 Facilities Manager Central, Facilities Department

Salary: Starting at £33,580 FTE per annum to £35,445 FTE per annum, Grade 3 point 26-28 - pro-rata for part-time hours

Location: Ideally based in Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex or Greater London (north) with the ability to travel within this region.

Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week) or open to part-time (22 hours per week)

We are flexible on hours of work and open to discussing part-time hours and other flexible working options - it is expected that for the first 12 months after the role begins, travel to properties based in the above listed regions will be required several times per week.  After this period of time, we are open to this role being home-based or hybrid working with occasional ongoing travel required. This will be discussed in more detail with the successful applicant.

The Facilities department manages all Assets and Estates that Family Action own or lease across the whole organisation, overseeing all the services across England.

Main Responsibilities:

· Conduct Health and Safety site audits to a schedule across Family Action’s Central region.

· Support responsible managers with risk assessments across Family Action’s Central region.

· Support and give advice to local management teams regarding their Health & Safety system, through regular meetings and tickets raised within the Facilities helpdesk.

· To work closely with the Head of Facilities to develop corporate services for Family Action’s Central region sites.

· Help develop the Facilities departments’ JWA (SLA) and ensure they are consistently applied and regional measurables are reported to the Head of Facilities.

· Assist local management teams with planning and undertaking repairs and refurbishment as well as the day-to-day maintenance of Family Action assets (properties and equipment) in conjunction with the relevant budget holders and landlords.

· Monitor and respond to tickets raised within the Facilities helpdesk system (SalesForce), as well as all relevant emails sent to the Facilities mailboxes.

· Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers, including the engagement of new suppliers and nurturing of existing relationships through meetings and KPIs.

· Member of IWFM to at minimum at Affiliate level (or equivalent).

· Trained to IOSH Managing Safely Level.

· Good working knowledge of standards and legislation applicable to Facilities Management.

· Experience of delivering site relocation and mobilisation projects.

Main Responsibilities

• Marketing outreach and project management
• Work alongside the Director of Marketing & Communications to action the charity’s strategic marketing plan.

The Events Fundraiser will be responsible for managing the portfolio of challenge events including the marketing; on the day delivery; first class stewardship and participant support from sign up to event completion and volunteer recruitment and management.
