Learning and Events Coordinator

As part of this work, our Insights and Engagement Team engages a wide range of people in the Trust’s vision for Gloucestershire, and our Learning and Events Coordinator is integral to this.

We are looking for a Learning and Events Coordinator to provide coordination and administration support for Barnwood Trust’s internal learning programme, engaging staff and Trustees in individual, team and organisation-wide learning and development activities and events.

We want to diversify our team to better reflect the work and communities we support – this means we would particularly welcome applications from people who:

Contract terms:

· This role is 12 months fixed term, and we welcome applications from people looking for part time hours (19 hours per week).

· We offer a flexible start between 8am and 9.30am Monday to Friday.

· £16,023 p/a (pro rata) (FTE £31,624)  

· 22 days holiday inc. bank holidays (pro rata) (FTE 36 days inc. bank holidays)

Summary of key duties:

· Coordinate and support team learning and development

· Assist in creating and implementing the annual Organisation Learning and Development Plan (OLDP)

· Report on learning expenditure and manage the Learning Management System

· Deliver and administer accessible internal learning activities and events

· Provide administrative support for bookings, venues, and liaising with attendees

· Maintain digital records of learning activities and ensure data accuracy

· Support staff and Trustees in accessing online learning resources

Summary of skills

· Excellent communication and organisational skills, including high level written communication skills. 

· Highly organised with project co-ordination skills.

· Self-awareness, enabling excellent working relationships with a wide range of people using tact, diplomacy and sensitivity. 

· Experience supporting small to medium-scale events

NEF are looking for a talented Senior Economist to lead our policy and research work on a Fast and Fair Transition. The role will oversee one of two workstreams, either:

1) Funding the transition: NEF will make the best case possible for public and private finance to be aligned at pace in the UK and EEA to shift the economy away from fossil fuels and towards green projects that raise living standards and protect our planet.

2) Delivering the transition: NEF will shape an economy for the common good by advocating a green industrial strategy where public value is the guiding principle and conditionalities are explicit, urging more resources and powers to be retained locally, and supporting workers in transition.

This role will manage an exciting and varied programme of work at a critical time, following the recent change of government. You will use your outstanding technical expertise and project management experience to lead a team to design and deliver quality, cutting-edge research capable of winning changes in policy and public opinion. You will be a passionate champion of our work – influencing policy and decision makers in government, central banks and market supervisors, political parties and civil servants, as well as civil society organisations, businesses and media who are shaping the debate. This will be a fantastic opportunity for someone who can demonstrate progressively senior responsibility and impact in an economist role, and who is looking for their next challenge.

Senior Economist

Hours of work: NEF operates a Shorter Working Week, with a full-time equivalent of 32 hours per week. As part of our commitment to flexible working we will consider a range of options for the successful applicant, including secondment or a part-time role. All options can be discussed at interview stage.

Salary: £52,124 per annum

You will work with colleagues to achieve political and policy impact on the green transition by delivering high quality research and advocacy. You will work on a diverse range of research projects and, depending on which workstream you lead, these could include: fiscal rules and frameworks, monetary policy and regulatory responsibilities, monetary-fiscal coordination, green targeted lending, industrial policy and skills, fiscal devolution and land reform. All of these projects will be aimed at ensuring a fast and fair transition.

You will bring outstanding technical skills and subject knowledge of one or more areas of macroeconomic policy, as well as a good understanding of how to effect changes in policy and practice. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be an effective line manager and fundraiser.

The Grants Officer will work in the Grants Team as part of the wider Development Department, to manage a portfolio of grants that fund the organisation’s work.

ClientEarth’s Development Department is responsible for raising and managing funds to enable the organisation to deliver its mission – using the power of the law to bring about systemic change that protects the earth for – and with – its inhabitants. The department is formed of several fundraising strands: a Grants Team and a Business Development Team that manage and secure funding from trusts, foundations, and institutional donors; and a Philanthropy Team, working with a wide range of individuals and organisations to raise primarily unrestricted gifts to support ClientEarth’s work. 

Main Duties

• Funding portfolio management - Have a close and in-depth knowledge of their grants portfolio, including a sound understanding of the philanthropic, institutional and statutory funding mix;
• Internal and external communications - Meet with Trust, Foundation and Institution portfolio managers to discuss proposals, provide updates on the programmatic work, and to formally report back on financial, organisational and technical issues; 
• Project management - Effectively manage reporting and the grant renewal process from start to completion including working with multiple teams across ClientEarth’s European and international offices to ensure input from all avenues to complete proposals and reports in a timely and high-quality manner; and 
• Financial planning and budget handling - Work with Finance and Programmes staff to develop individual budgets for funding proposals
• Systems and processes - Maintain funder database systems (Raiser’s Edge) and other organisational databases (SharePoint) on a daily basis

Role requirements

• Experience of working in a grant management or project management role for a charity, NGO, private or public entity
• Experience of reporting to private foundations including trusts
• Experience drafting proposals and securing funding from foundations and other funding institutions
• Experience and knowledge of budgeting, and organisational (e.g. not for profit/charity) finances

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

About the role 

As one of the Lead Worker you will play a role in supporting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by providing assessment, coaching advice and advocacy, whilst linking individuals into services that provide support. This role will also provide support to the facilitation of the Winter Night Shelter 2025, including ensuring that service users accessing the night shelter have an opportunity to resolve their homelessness sustainably.

The key to success will be your ability to make collaborative, consistent and psychologically informed relationships with services, colleagues, and partner organisations. You will have the ability to empower and upskill service users to be proactive in their accommodation search. You will provide support with practical aspects of their route out of homeless, including access to housing, benefits, and other relevant needs. You will Lead Work a caseload and provide effective case management in line with the Crisis Case Management Framework.

Skills, knowledge, and experience vital to succeeding in this role:

• Passionate about and dedicated to ending homelessness.   

• Comprehensive understanding and experience of accessing housing via private rented sector, local authorities, housing associations, supported providers and others.   

• Good knowledge of issues affecting homeless people, including housing, welfare issues, trauma, substance use, involvement in criminal justice services, and social isolation  

• Proven track record of successfully using coaching, IAG or psychologically informed approaches with people who have experience homelessness.  

• Skills and experience in partnership working and networking.

• Flexible and adaptable to change.  

• Strong team player, able to use own initiative and reflect on your own practice.  

• Previous experience in the voluntary or statutory sector with a focus on working alongside marginalised people or groups.

This unique role will work with communities to make a real difference for nature in Kent! You will help support people and wildlife to live alongside each other in Dover, Kent. - Promote both local and national campaigns through community networks, liaising with communications contacts to maximise their reach and impact.

This is an exciting time for Norfolk’s largest conservation charity following the launch of our new ambitious strategy, a Wilder Norfolk for All, which focuses on bringing more wildlife back to Norfolk and supporting more people to enjoy and act for nature. We want to empower 1 in 4 people to take action for nature, but to do this we need to provide opportunities for a wider diversity of people to connect with nature and experience the benefits it offers.

We are looking for someone dynamic, with an innovative approach to engagement, to lead on developing and delivering our Wilder Events programme of activities across Norfolk, engaging new and diverse audiences as well as our current members and supporters. As someone with excellent relationship management skills, you’ll also lead on working with health and wellbeing organisations across Norfolk to create opportunities for people to connect with nature, supporting local green prescribing initiatives.

The post will be based at NWT HQ in Norwich (with scope for hybrid working considered).  However, due to the nature of the role, the post-holder will need to travel to venues across Norfolk to oversee events taking place and will be required to work some evenings and weekends, for which time off in lieu will be earnt.

Established in 2006, SolarAid is a UK based, international charity dedicated to bringing solar power to rural communities in sub-Saharan Africa.

Currently, there are nearly 600 million people in sub-Saharan Africa living without electricity. When the sun goes down at night, families are reliant on dangerous and expensive forms of lighting, such as candles and kerosene lamps.

Together with their social enterprise, SunnyMoney, SolarAid are pioneering innovative enterprise programmes that tackle poverty and climate change by providing access to clean, safe solar light to homes, clinics and schools. To date, they have distributed over 2.3 million lights, directly impacting over 11 million people.

Families across the continent can now rely on safe, renewable solar lights as the sun sets, but there is still a long way to go to achieve universal access to energy, and Solar Aid are stepping up our efforts to ensure communities otherwise left behind will have access to solar energy, creating instant sustainable change for people and the planet.

About the role

SolarAid have a small but very loyal base of individual supporters providing £1 million a year in donations, from sums of a few pounds to major gifts and, increasingly, legacies. Attracting donations from individuals that we wish to grow. This role will be important to help enable that.

The main purpose of the role is the management of the website and digital campaigns that support fundraising activities both online and offline

The total fundraised income is around £2.5 million, including corporates, and grants from foundations who also will check out our website.

Responsibilities:

• Management of the website and digital campaigns that support our fundraising activities both online and offline.

Projects within the first 12 months would include:

• Review the existing website and lead on a project to transition to a new platform, including seeking a provider and implementation
• Review and improve the online giving experience
• Potentially recruit a digital content role to provide relevant content to engage our audiences

Website and back-end

• Main responsibility for the technical back-end functionality of the SolarAid website, working closely together with the Digital Communications Manager who leads on content and front-end.
• Managing the relationship with SolarAid's web-agency, scoping, and leading development projects.
• Mainly responsible for website security and integrity, certificates, updates and plugins.
• Analytics and reporting
• SEO optimisation
• Donation functionality and platform integrations to continuously improve the supporter experience

Digital fundraising support

• Work closely with colleagues to understand and ensure the best possible supporter experience and journey

About You

This is a great opportunity for an able and enthusiastic Digital Fundraising Manager, looking to progress to the next step in their career. You will have the following skills and experiences;

• Proven Website management experience, excellent knowledge of working in CMS systems and leading on more complex back-end and development projects.
• Proficient in effectively using data analysis tools (Google Analytics, Tag Manager) and user experience optimisation tools (HotJar), to inform future website project to optimise traffic and experience

Main purpose of the job

This role will be responsible for providing a range of support, including administrative support, and coordinating activities across our research programme. You’ll provide support to a range of activities including our Research Strategy Groups, research networks, lived experience engagement in research, and our research funding processes. We are seeking a Reserves Officer (North Hampshire) to join our cause.  

Reporting to the Senior Nature Recovery Manager (North Hampshire) and functioning as a key member of the North Hampshire Area Team, this post is responsible for the habitat management of five MoD sites in the northeast of the County which form part of the Thames Basin Heaths, and the nationally important Greywell Moors near Hook. This portfolio of sites includes a diverse mixture of heathland and Fen habitats; all of which are being managed or restored to favourable condition with support from the team and in partnership with organisations such as the MoD, NE, EA, external graziers and our inhouse grazing team. 

The suite of sites includes a significant acreage of the MOD training estate, which is comprised of internationally important lowland heath; there are also an exciting range of fen, woodland, wood pasture, also neutral and acid grasslands within the wider Northern estate. 

The Reserve Officer (North Hampshire) will deliver Countryside Stewardship Scheme and other work plan objectives, working with fellow staff, volunteers, contractors, project partners and the grazing team to implement habitat management activities. Estate management will also include the maintenance of reserve infrastructure and gathering ecological data through working with partners and carrying out surveying when required. 

Alongside the practical and administrative delivery associated with reserve management and general estate management tasks; this role will also be working closely with the wider team to ensure the northern estate and its staff are being as effective as possible, while maintaining a close and supportive relationship with our grazing team.

We have a new opportunity for a specialist Dual Diagnosis Worker to join the team in Croydon on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a new role to the team and you will deliver evidence-based interventions based on  holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills. You will work to the long term support needs of our residents and work towards facilitating improved outcomes. 

Our service has 27 residents across 4 sites, which specialise in Forensic Mental Health aiming to enable and empower our residents to achieve their maximum levels of functional independence and enhance their sense of wellbeing.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant needs.
  Include appropriate substance misuse interventions within support plans for those with co-occurring substance dependence and mental health need devising systematic plans for care; implementing this plan; coordinating the input of others and evaluating effectiveness.
• Undertake joint holistic assessments and risk assessments with residents/participants to help determine service and support needs and identify where these can be met. Provide outcome-based support measured against goals, recovery, and achievements.
• Encourage residents/participants to identify and define their own goals and work towards being resilient and independent as possible, support with reducing reliance on clinical interventions and hospitalisations. 
• Promote active involvement of those with dual diagnosis, assist residents/participants to identify their own strengths, personal interests and goals and support them to access and participate in activities of their choice.
• Undertake time-limited, SMART, and a range of evidence-based interventions such as 1-1’s, including harm minimisation, increasing awareness and motivation through stages of change and relapse prevention.
• Support in creating and maintaining a welcoming, psychologically informed home environment for residents/participants, ensuring a continuous focus on safety, health, and wellbeing.
• Positively promote and support connections with local communities and boroughs of SIG’s services and liaise with other teams to maintain and share knowledge and links to support people to access resources which include print, personal and digital.
• Develop community links and liaise regularly with a range of agencies and individuals across voluntary and third sector services in the community including but not limited to; drug and alcohol services, supported employment schemes, gyms and healthy living programmes, recovery colleges, and benefits and advice agencies.
• Act as a role model for staff of all disciplines and grades working with people with co-occurring mental health, alcohol and/or drug problems. 
• Share knowledge and skills to help enhance awareness around dual diagnosis and best practice, challenges, and services available with other services of Social Interest Group.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Knowledge, understanding and experience of working with people of complex backgrounds. Ideally ex-offenders, those with enduring mental health, substance misuse and challenging behaviours
• Experience of assessing needs and strengths, and supporting people with dual diagnosis and complex needs
• Previous experience in a similar role, providing holistic assessments and support for people experiencing mental illness who use substances
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software
• Able to recognise ill health and additional support and need for interventions
• Knowledge of the interactions between mental health problems and drug and alcohol use and the issues facing people trying to stabilise their situation
• Applied knowledge of the principles of risk assessment and risk management, particularly in relation to harm minimisation
• Ability to engage those who may be hard to reach, able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others

What we would like, but not essential:

• Experience in delivering training in motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Theory informed approaches and other relevant recovery models

The purpose of the Philanthropy Officer role is to support with the Trust’s approach to building and developing income from philanthropic sources, including Trusts and Foundations, organisational donors, and individuals, as well as supporting the effective stewardship of our family of supporters. We are setting ambitious fundraising targets to substantially increase income for the next phase of our 2030 strategy to grow activity across the organisation and support the widest cohort of beneficiaries possible.

The Development team has secured a relatively stable income of c.£6M of income over a number of years. 22/23 was our strongest year yet with an income of £6.8M and pledges of £12.8M, and we look set to exceed this in 23/24. Philanthropy revenue accounted for just less than half of the income in 22/23 and we believe there is potential for much more as the philanthropic community continues to invest in social mobility and unlocking young people’s potential to create a fairer society where everyone can succeed no matter their background.

The Philanthropy Officer will work on a key income stream for the Sutton Trust, developing a robust pipeline of Trust and Foundation prospects and delivering high-quality account management to a portfolio of small to mid-level Trusts, Foundations, and organisational donors. The scope of the role will also include supporting the Head of Philanthropy on strategic management of our major Trust and Foundation partners and the Philanthropy function’s overall fundraising operations.

Main duties

Account Management and Individual Giving Support

• Managing a portfolio of small to mid-level Trusts, Foundations, and organisational donors, delivering impactful stewardship (e.g. programme visits, impact reporting) to meet all reporting requirements.
• Supporting the Head of Philanthropy on strategic management of our major Trust and Foundation partners, including administrative activities and data collation for reporting.
• Assisting with information gathering and writing inspiring, compelling reports and proposals to Philanthropy funders, as well as targeted donor communications.
• Working closely with the Director of Development to project manage the annual donor impact report, coordinating departmental submissions from the Senior Leadership team and working with our design agency to create a professional external report of the highest standard, in a timely manner.
• Providing general administrative support to the Philanthropy team and Director of Development, such as arranging meetings, note-taking, supporting with gift fulfilment, processing expenses, preparing gift receipts.
• Supporting the Philanthropy Manager and Head of Philanthropy on administration and maintenance of low-level online giving campaigns, including automated stewardship activation (i.e. once gifts are received, ensuring supporters are thanked appropriately and understand the impact of their support for the Trust to encourage repeat support).
• Managing the Trust’s online fundraising platforms such as JustGiving and CAF US/ Canada to enable smooth processes while ensuring new and existing regular donors are appropriately thanked and have inclination to support in the future.
• Work with colleagues across Development to support the transition of our online giving capabilities to the Trust’s website and the implementation of a low-level regular giving strategy.

New Business and Grants Fundraising

• Conducting thorough prospect research into prospective and current donors (including trusts and foundations and statutory i.e. Government contracts or grants) and supporting the team to develop a pipeline of opportunities and proposals that are attractive to the Trust’s prospects.
• Developing long-term relationships with small to mid-level Trusts, Foundations and organisational donors to secure income (£5k - £50k), for the Trust.

Fundraising Finance and Reporting

• Ensure appropriate recording and monitoring of Philanthropy relationships through Salesforce, ensuring private data is managed confidentially in line with GDPR and Data Protection Guidelines.
• Act as an ambassador for the Trust at external events, primarily with current and prospective supporters.
• Work with colleagues across Development and Finance to ensure accurate forecasting, income tracking and reporting for Philanthropic partnerships.
• Work closely with the Development team on due diligence, donor stewardship and reporting, including creating account plans.
• Stay up to date with fundraising best practice.
• Other duties as necessary from time to time.

Person Specification

We welcome applications from individuals who have experience in:
