Job description

Winston’s Wish is the UK’s first child bereavement charity and with over 30 years of experience, we have a long established training programme.

This is a key role in developing, promoting and delivering online and face-to-face bereavement trainings to organisations and communities who support bereaved children and young people.

You will be involved in identifying training needs, developing training content to best support those needs, delivering and evaluating Winston’s Wish’s training delivery across the UK.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Training requests and delivery

  • Co-ordinate training requests and work collaboratively with the team to respond to them.
  • To work with the team to design training programmes tailored to the needs of the training delegates.
  • To deliver Winston’s Wish training packages online and face to face.
  • Work with the team to ensure efficient flow of processes and procedures.

Development and promotion of new materials

  • To research key areas in need of bereavement training packages.
  • To form partnerships with key organisations and individuals in those key areas to promote bespoke training.
  • To work with the team to develop new training programmes training
  • Work with the marketing and communications team to promote

Evaluation and feedback

  • To work with the team to develop and review feedback framework to evaluate the training.
  • To use feedback to improve the current training offer and identify gaps in the programme.
  • To ensure accurate collection, processing and analysis of all information and all qualitative and quantitative data.

  • To be fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Professional Qualification

  • Relevant professional qualification in working in education, training or learning.
  • Relevant professional qualification in working with children and young people (desirable)

Professional Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience of delivering training to professionals.
  • At least three years’ experience of working with children, young people and families in a health, social care, youth, community or education setting.
  • Experience of planning and designing training programmes.
  • Experience of liaising with and working alongside organisations that support children and young people.
  • Experience of working within vulnerable communities.
  • Experience of delivering training using a digital platform.

Professional Skills & Abilities  

  • Understanding of the experience and consequences of bereavement in childhood.
  • Understanding and experience of all stages of the learning cycle.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently build and maintain good relationships with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
  • Emotional maturity, stability and resilience with a strong commitment to self-care and the ability to seek support and guidance when difficulties arise in the course of work.
  • Open, receptive, trusting and non-threatening.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Well organised.
  •  Ability to work flexibly and use your own initiative to develop creative solutions.
  • Experience of designing and developing a range of learning and development solutions including face-to-face, remote and digital.
  • Consulting mindset - ability to quickly assimilate information and to translate this into potential solutions and ways of working.
