As Events Executive you will support the Events team to deliver a range of special events, high-value committee-led events, and cultivation events, used to engage and steward existing supporters and attract new donors. Our Events portfolio includes in-person and online Philanthropy and Partnerships events, such as our flagship annual cultivation panel discussion, and bespoke events for our most generous corporate partners, as well as supporter engagement events for the Legacy and Individual Giving teams.

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation management geoengineering (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions. The initiative has been working in different forms for over a decade and our work receives worldwide coverage and widespread acclaim.   

We seek a Communications Manager to work closely with the Degrees team, the researchers we support in the Global South, and our stakeholders around the world to further raise our profile - initially focusing on the specialist SRM expert community but over time expanding to the broader climate science and policy arena.

About the role

Our moderators manage Facebook groups of up to 18,000 virtual challenge participants. You will be working with some of the biggest names in the sector, supporting them to raise five and six figure sums. 

This role is perfect for skilled fundraisers who can provide excellent supporter care, and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9am (or earlier), wrap up by 9pm and adhere to our sub-three hour response time. 

As a Fundraising Group Moderator, you would be responsible for:

• Becoming the voice of the cause you are representing, adhering to their brand guidelines at all times

• Identifying, escalating and signposting any safeguarding issues

• Managing your own time and work on own initiative

• Responding to all post and queries in under three hours

• Maximising registration conversions and fundraiser activation 

• Providing fundraising support to challenge participants

Our moderation takes place between 9am and 9pm, Monday-Sunday. Different challenges have different requirements and whilst you need to be on hand to monitor the group during 9am-9pm, the role does allow for a great deal of personal flexibility.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' professional fundraising experience. They will understand the importance of stewarding relationships and be committed to always acting in the best possible way for the charities we work so hard to support.

Full training will be provided alongside regular one to one and team catch ups.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sustrans team and work on the Travel Well project, an innovative active travel social prescribing project. 

As the Active Travel Project Officer, you will deliver walking, Wheeling and cycling activities that promote Physical and mental well-being. Working closely with NCC (Nottingham City Council) and Nottingham Community and Voluntary Services you will share your passion and enthusiasm for walking and cycling and make a positive impact on people's health and well-being. 

Contributing to the Travel Well initiative you will work with people of all ages and walks of life who refer themselves to the project or are referred by health professionals or other community services. You will identify routes to deliver buddy walks and rides to those referred. 

You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people and organisations to raise awareness and understanding of the Travel Well programme and the support it can offer. You will run and facilitate workshops, events and talks to promote the project and motivate people to join. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

You should have experience of delivering physical activity, health or other behaviour change projects, including delivering projects with different partners from different sectors. 

You will need to be able to communicate with and present to different audiences. As well as the end-to-end planning and leadership of events and activities. You will need to be able to work independently, and work as part of a collaborative team.

We are seeking an experienced volunteer and community engagement professional with a genuine passion for nature and climate to help deliver our new WASH project.

Norton Hall is a small, but growing charity with a vibrant team based in and working with the community of Wash wood Heath, in East Birmingham.  The WASH will be based at our Dolphin Women’s Centre in Ward End Park; a much valued, Green Flag accredited 54-acre public space with a Lake and the Wash Brook. 

Thanks to National Lottery players, Norton Hall has received a five-year grant from The National Lottery Community Fund.   

The funding will be used to engage our local community in nature and climate learning activities, connecting them with the rural environment, increasing their connection to their surroundings and encouraging them to understand what it means to them.  Shaped by volunteers, service users and partners, the WASH aims to see improvements in everyday lives, including food and growing skills, career opportunities, improved mental and physical health, and confidence building.

To succeed in this role, you will have good experience of supporting volunteers from a range of backgrounds and delivering community events, ideally within an inner city setting.  Your interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to develop excellent relationships with community, organisations, volunteers, partners and beneficiaries.

About the role

We are looking for someone with experience in facilities and contract management, and the drive and desire to find solutions and complete projects to a high standard. The Senior Events and Programme Coordinator (Leadership) has key responsibility for supporting our Leadership Programmes working alongside the Events and Membership Manager and the Director of Nursing Programmes (Leadership and Standards) to ensure work is covered by the wider team and to act as a central point of contact for partners and clients.

The Programme, Network and Event Coordination Team is a key core team led by our Events and Membership Manager, responsible for ensuring that professional programmes, network and event support is provided to the QNI’s core programmes of work and the nurses in the team that lead them.

The role will also pick up other co-ordinator duties as part of the wider team which is expected to work flexibly to cover the requirements of the organisation.

The Head of Support Services will oversee sustainable recovery interventions which may include structured psycho-social 1:1 ​and group activities, counselling and therapy, peer and mentoring support, with services ​co-produced by clinicians and health professionals, and insight and knowledge from experts ​by experience. ​

The candidate should demonstrate previous experience of management and oversight of similar programmes of work, within mental health, addiction or community NHS or voluntary sectors. ​

Experience of gambling support and treatment and/or harm minimisation programmes is desirable, but not essential.​

Working with other members of the Senior Management Team, they will input into the management of the charity, as well as supporting grant, contract and tender submissions, operational management, governance, performance and contract monitoring and outcome reporting. This will include financial planning and budgeting.​

• Review service delivery and implement necessary changes, to ensure high quality service, reflecting best practice and clear impact for all service users.​
• Conduct regular supervision with staff and service users about service effectiveness and maximise client involvement in service design and development.​

Monitoring and Evaluation​

• Produce a monthly service review, linked to the charity’s strategy and business plan.​
• Manage monitoring and evaluation framework and oversee CMS/CRM systems.​
• Liaise with external support networks, such as universities and research organisations, to aid data management requirements.​

Line Management​

• Ensure staff are recruited, supervised and developed in accordance with Betknowmore UK systems and processes, in particular annual planning and review and objective setting.​
• Support the provision of staff training to the highest standard and in accordance with Betknowmore quality assurance standards ​
• Provide HR support and on-going staff line management.​
• Liaise with Clinical Supervisor to ensure staff have adequate support and resources.​
• Contribute to the development of services knowledge and practice, by keeping up to date with current research and practice and ensuring that the clinical and support approach of the teams reflects such current information as appropriate.​

Partnerships Building and Collaboration​

• Develop our operational and strategic relationship with external partners and stakeholders to maximise the success and impact of Betknowmore UK services.​
• Co-ordinate Betknowmore UK contribution to service-related networks ensuring attendance at relevant operational and strategic meetings and provide feedback and sharing of information.​
• Represent the organisation at events, webinars and other meetings to inform service development and promote best practice in service delivery.​

Financial Management​

• Oversee budgets and expenditure related to the services and help meet targets.​
• Provide oversight to petty cash and day to day expenses.​
• Assist with other fundraising associated with service development as agreed with Senior Management Team.​

Health and Safety Responsibilities​

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff, clients and other beneficiaries is intact.​
• Oversee Betknowmore UK premises and risk assess external sites, ensuring all working environments work correctly to policies and procedures. ​
• Ensure that Betknowmore UK Diversity and Equality policies are upheld.​

General​

• Attend regular supervision sessions with the Director of Support Services.​
• To operate with clear professional & confidentiality boundaries to work within the organisations code of conduct.​
• To carry out other duties commensurate with the post.​

Qualifications or Relevant Experience​

• Educated to degree level or equivalent​

• Knowledge of mental health or drug, alcohol or gambling support and recovery services​
• Ability to manage complex support and training services​

• Experience of working with complex addiction and/or high support needs service users (group and 1:1 work)​
• Experience of safeguarding lead and procedures​
• Demonstrable track record of achieving successful outcomes and performance indicators at management level in a comparable national/ international organisation​

• Experience of multi-agency working and maintaining positive relationships​

As part of our Climate Solutions Partnership with HSBC and the World Resources Institute, WWF-UK has created a Nature-based Solutions Accelerator (NbS). The Accelerator is founded on a shared ambition to help remove the barriers to widespread and large-scale adoption of nature-based solutions.

As Finance Specialist, you will collaborate with colleagues to deliver our workstream on bankable NbS, supporting specific NbS projects around the world through the Accelerator to develop their case for investment through technical assistance in defined topics. You will also be involved in mapping and tracking opportunities for finance for NbS, and convening stakeholders to inform best practice. We will look to you to create a strong external network to build the profile and credibility of the Accelerator and implement a strategic approach to partnership identification and development, including thought leadership and advice on the formation of new partnerships involving NbS.

To help drive this work to deliver benefits to society and to biodiversity, you will possess significant knowledge and experience in impact investment, sustainable finance or multilateral funding in the social or environmental space. You will have a good awareness of the NbS concept and an understanding of private investors’ interests and considerations in delivering NbS at scale. Comfortable synthesising complex information and translating it into impactful advice and communications, you will possess excellent influencing, interpersonal and communications skills. Good at building relationships, including with partners from different sectors and countries, you enjoy a collaborative working environment and are impact-orientated.
