Trusts and Foundations Manager
This is a new role at the DEC and developed as a key part of the DEC’s 2024-2029 strategy. The DEC has a wide range of established relationships with trusts and foundations, many of which give 6- and 7-figure sums to DEC appeals. The Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to our portfolio of trusts and foundations.
In addition, the role will also be responsible for cultivating new relationships for the DEC through thorough research, and through the prospect development cycle, to raise money for DEC appeals. In addition to appeal fundraising, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for delivering on a new core cost fundraising strategy, in close partnership with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships.
Demonstrable, transferable trusts and foundations experience and knowledge, (preferably within the humanitarian & charity sector), will hold you in good stead for this exciting new role.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Development: Develop and manage the trusts and foundations portfolio and create compelling proposals for future appeals and core costs income. Showcase new ideas and innovative approaches for growing and developing a pipeline of new prospects. Develop engaging stewardship plans.
Administrative Compliance: Lead and manage, robust and professional grant management, ensuring systems and processes are fit for purpose, streamlined and accessible. Remain compliant with grant terms and conditions, ensuring you are clearly communicating the unique contours of the DEC model whilst providing comprehensive and inspiring impact reporting.
Relationship Management: Maintain regular contact and collaboration with internal teams to collate a high-quality suite of communication materials and stewardship plans specific to a trust and foundation audience. Proactively reach out and build long-lasting relationships with funders to reach ambitious fundraising targets.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor, measure and evaluate progress against the DEC’s strategic goals and funds raised from trusts and foundations. Prepare regular reports for senior management and trustees on the development, progress and future strategic actions for trusts and foundations at the DEC.
Essential qualities, experience, knowledge, skills, include:
- A track record of securing five- and six-figure donations from trusts and foundations.
- Experience of successfully executing cultivation plans and retaining positive, key relationships with trusts and foundations on behalf of a charity.
- Experience of producing professional and compelling funding propositions for a trust and foundation audience.
- Experience of delivering highly engaging and personalised stewardship journeys and meeting the reporting requirements of charitable trusts and foundations
- High level of technical ability with appropriate computer software packages and data analysis and visualisation software [i.e., Microsoft Office, Adobe, Box].
- Proven financial acumen to comfortably evaluate financial information and manage budgets.
- High attention to detail and numerate accuracy in analysing and using data and financial information, to write coherent reports.
- Clear and confident communicator both orally and in writing [in English].
- Able to present persuasively and influence decision making.
- Able to use initiative and judgement to proactively identify and resolve problems.

About the role:
We are looking to appoint an experienced fundraiser to help build income from corporate fundraising with an emphasis on securing long term and strategic partnerships.
Reporting to the Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for proactively generating significant income from five and six figure corporate partnerships by managing the new business pipeline, identifying new opportunities, building relationships and networking with key stakeholders and producing compelling applications and creative partnership proposals.
This is an excellent opportunity to build on previous experience and develop your skills in business development. Previous experience of securing high value, strategic partnerships in the third sector would be beneficial. The team has a proven track record in winning prestigious corporate partnerships which include: Macfarlanes LLP, Invesco, Knight Frank, Deutsche Bank, Nomura and high street names such as Kurt Geiger. Responsible for a third of the charity’s income the team are driven, highly motivated & results orientated.
What we’re looking for:
· A friendly, enthusiastic and experienced corporate fundraiser who achieves results through people – you are socially focused and resilient, enjoy networking and are able to quickly connect with others and build effective working relationships.
· A motivating, empathetic and persuasive communicator – you are an experienced bid writer and a confident public speaker with experience of presenting to panels or addressing large audiences
· Knowledge of different corporate fundraising initiatives, including charity of the year, cause related marketing and strategic partnerships – you understand the components of a mutually beneficial and multi-faceted partnership, and have proven experience of prospect management and winning new business.
· You thrive working in a busy environment on multiple priorities simultaneously – results-oriented and a fast learner, you respond quickly to pressure and a changing environment.
· Confident use of MSOffice and experience of using a database – you have strong attention to detail, won’t miss a deadline and record accurate data using CRM systems

We are looking for an Early Years Community Worker to join our caring, creative and resourceful Hackney Playbus early years team, with additional responsibility for coordinating the staff team schedule and ensuring that appropriate resources are in place to deliver our programme.
Together we run stay and play sessions from a bright and beautiful double-decker bus that has been converted into a mobile early years community play space. Our sessions take place both inside and outside the Playbus in different locations across Hackney, providing a rich play and learning environment for children aged 0-4yrs old and a welcoming space for their parents and carers. We listen to the needs of parents and carers and help families to access support services where needed.
As well as our Playbus sessions, we bring our informal, welcoming approach to baby groups that we run in community settings.

SCHOOLS BASED ACROSS BURNLEY & SALFORD
We require a Social Worker to provide high quality social work in our schools across the Diocese of Salford according to each school’s formal agreement.
You will work directly with children and young people, their parents, carers and schools in order to further the child’s welfare and provide the interventions necessary to enable them to use their learning opportunities to the full. You must be able to provide a non-judgemental, caring and confidential environment throughout this work to ensure the issues are addressed in an appropriate manner for all those involved.
To apply you will have experience of working with children and families and experience of direct work with children which includes supporting school staff with safeguarding. You must have competent IT skills which includes providing regular reports to the individual schools and Caritas and feedback to school staff as required. Develop a new charity ambassador strategy to create powerful new stakeholders who support our vision and increase reach

Monitor and evaluate fundraising activities, tracking progress towards goals, and making adjustments, as necessary.

Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to fundraising and corporate partnerships.

Prepare regular reports on fundraising activities, financial performance, and donor/sponsor engagement for management and board review.
Qualifications:
-
Evidence of a senior position, or relevant degree in business, nonprofit management, or related field.

Experience of working in, or high levels of knowledge of the infrastructure of the music industry

Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, Trust and Foundations or related roles.

Proven track record of successfully securing funding and managing relationships with donors and corporate partners and Trusts and Foundations.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Strong project management, organisational abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.

Proficiency in fundraising software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of ethical fundraising practices, regulations, and compliance standards.

Passion for the organisation's mission and dedication to making a positive impact in the community.
Additional Information:

This is 3 day per week position based at home with remote working and the need for regular attendance at meetings in London and other major UK cities

Occasional travel may be required for donor meetings, events, and conferences.
