About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in two of our schools in Hackney and Highbury currently delivering our Gateway programme and moving to our new Accelerate programme next school year.
The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteer tutors and coaches, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of our programmes is optimised.
Role responsibilities
• Work directly with students in a professional and safe manner.
• Engage with school staff, your Programme Manager, and students in school to ensure that you have fully enrolled cohorts across both programmes.
• Assess student progress towards being able to make successful Key Stage 5 and university applications.
• Upload information onto the Salesforce database in a timely manner (training is provided).
• Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programmes.
• Present at termly school meetings with Senior Management to report on our programmes progress.
• Support the wider team by attending university site visits which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).

Since 2011 Disability Africa has developed a model using playschemes as hubs to deliver essential lifesaving services to extremely vulnerable disabled children and to end their exclusion in low-income African communities. Using this model, we have worked with project partners in Kenya, The Gambia, Sierra Leone and Zambia. 680 disabled children have now attended our projects more than 90,000 times since 2011. Now the charity is planning to grow and expand with our 5-year plan (‘DA2029’) to replicate the Disability Africa Model to reach more disabled children across Africa.
By 2029 we will:
• Start work with at least 4 new partners in Africa (as well as expected growth at our existing projects).
• Deliver 160,000 attendances by at least 1,500 disabled children in 7 African countries.
• Grow and reach as many disabled children as possible - we know we can’t do it all by ourselves - so we will engage other international NGOs to adopt our model of inclusion.

About the Role
Coordinators are crucial members of the delivery team, responsible for an exciting programme of activities for their given area. You will be responsible for an exciting offer for young people aged 8 to 19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs), at the Youth Zone.
The Female Engagement Coordinator will lead on the Just for Girls session on Sunday afternoons, designing an engaging programme of activities alongside staff and young people. You will also work to engage girls and young women in the other sessions offered by the Youth Zone, ensuring the sessions are relevant and fun. You will provide some line management support and development for sessional workers in these areas.
This role requires a minimum of 55% of time spent face-to-face working with young people.

Role Summary

Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include:
- To lead on Communications and Engagement activity for the whole organisation working closely with the CEO and wider Senior Management Team.
- To develop and implement engaging multi discipline campaigns including PR activity that contribute to the delivery of Causeway’s Strategic objectives.
- Lead on developing and communicating Causeways’ core messaging and brand, both internally and externally, ensuring agreed guidelines are adhered to and consistent terminology and language is always used.
- Create a pipeline for gathering stories and case study content in a way that does not place a significant burden on frontline staff and will demonstrate a clear understanding of informed consent and safeguarding in relation to vulnerable individuals and risk assessment processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, broadcasters, content creators, celebrities and influencers as required to help further our objectives.
- Oversee the management of content and utilisation of all our digital engagement and communications channels including social media platforms and our website.
- Work to position Causeway at the forefront of the sectors we operate in communicating our innovative approaches, gaining traction and recognition across a wide audience.

The team
The communications team works alongside the fundraising team, and is responsible for delivering marketing, communications and PR that promotes both our charitable and commercial (venue hire) work.
This is a new team that will bring fresh perspectives and new energy to how we do things, how we drive the organisation forwards to ensure that we are increasing our profile and awareness of our work, and what we have to offer in the journey to making society in East London and beyond a fairer place.
Scope of role
As Communications, Marketing, and PR Manager, you will play a key role in raising Toynbee Hall’s profile, ensuring that our charitable work and commercial venue hire operations receive the recognition they deserve. This is a newly created role, designed to lead external communications, oversee PR and brand strategy, and develop impactful marketing campaigns that engage our audiences.
You will also line manage the Digital Engagement Officer, who will focus on digital communications, social media, and internal engagement. Together, you will drive our brand forward and ensure our work is heard by key stakeholders, supporters, and the wider public.
In conjunction with the CEO and the Senior Management team the manager is responsible for the communication workplan for Toynbee Hall. They are responsible for managing the marketing budget, and delivering the communications strategy.
- Support strategic objectives through delivery of the communications plan that reflects the needs of the services and organisational needs.

- Facilitate and deliver our press and media approach in collaboration with CEO and SMT and the overall comms priorities.

Strategic Communications & PR

Surgical intervention could address at least 30% of the global burden of disease, and yet the poorest 33% of people receive just 3.5% of all surgery. Purpose of Role
In your role of Communications Officer, you will contribute to the delivery of WFSA’s objectives by helping to implement advocacy and communications strategies.
You will report to the Head of Advocacy & Communications and liaise regularly with the rest of the small staff team in the Secretariat. The Sentencing Academy is a charitable incorporated organisation created in 2019 to promote more effective sentencing practices and to further professional and public understanding of sentencing across England and Wales. Our mission is to inform decision making and improve awareness and understanding of sentencing through evidence led research, working in collaboration with experts in the field.
We are looking for a Research and Policy Officer on an initial one year fixed-term contract. The primary responsibility for this role will be to create content for our forthcoming Sentencing Hub, which will draw together an array of resources on sentencing in England and Wales, including research summaries and data trends. The Sentencing Hub is currently in the early stages of development and will become a key research and statistical resource for those seeking the latest evidence on the effectiveness of the sentencing process. It will be of interest to sentencers, the Judicial College, the Sentencing Council, those involved in the policymaking process, Members of Parliament, journalists, and other stakeholders. We anticipate that the Hub will become the Sentencing Academy’s primary research and dissemination vehicle.
This role is a mostly remote working one but with regular meetings in London (approximately four times a month). Attendance at other locations may sometimes be required. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) but with flexibility to work reduced hours of no less than 0.8 FTE (30 hours per week). Occasional work outside of normal working hours may be required.
