We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced finance professional to join our team and play a vital role in our continued success. As Finance Manager, you will have the opportunity to positively impact local lives by leading and overseeing all aspects of our financial operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of our financial reporting, while also providing strategic financial insights to support our mission. You will be a member of the Wider Senior Leadership Team (SLT), working closely with the CEO, Board of Trustees, and internal teams to ensure our financial sustainability and resilience. This is a hands-on role with a mix of strategic and operational tasks and is essential to the success of our 3-year strategy, maintaining best practice financial controls and budgetary oversight, and meeting statutory obligations.

You will be part of an upbeat, skilled team within a values-led organisation that focuses on the wellbeing of its staff. You’ll make an important contribution to our culture of togetherness, inclusivity, respect, and passion in our mission to see no good food going to waste in the South West.

Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership

• Lead and mentor a small finance team, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring the day-to-day smooth efficient running of the finance function.
• Contribute to strategy development and implementation as part of the wider SLT.
• Work closely with the CEO, Deputy CEO and Board of Trustees to facilitate good governance and risk management, including attendance at the monthly Finance Sub-Committee.
• Manage, maintain and develop financial systems and controls, increasing their impact and quality and implementing best practices in financial management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements (e.g. Charity Commission, HMRC).
• Ensure FSSW fulfils its legal and regulatory requirements around GDPR.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including our Auditor and peers across the FareShare network.
•  Act as a local ambassador for FSSW.

Finance Operations Management

• Undertake the day-to-day bookkeeping (Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax) including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank, payroll, banking, and general ledger maintenance.
• Manage the staff payroll and pension process, monthly HMRC reporting and payments, including monitoring of VAT, tax, and gift aid, and prepare required returns.
• Lead on procurement practices, including relationship management of key suppliers such as insurance, utilities, IT providers to ensure best value for money.
• Petty cash controls across all FSSW sites.
• Debtor management, including liaising with internal membership account managers. 
• Other finance administration activities as required.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Manage all aspects of the financial cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, fixed asset management, reserves management and financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting commentary for presentation to SLT and Trustees. 
• Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to inform and support decision-making and funding applications across the organisation, including quarterly reviews.
• Prepare year end accounts to trial balance and lead the annual audit process.
• Ensure Restricted Funds are allocated correctly and assist with the monitoring of their budgets and cash flow in conjunction with the SLT.
• Assist the Deputy CEO to collate relevant evidence e.g. invoices for grant monitoring and reporting.
• Ensure day-to-day management of IT and data protection.
• Complete administration duties such as filing to Charity Commission and Companies House as directed to comply with statutory reporting requirements.

General

• Respond to communications via telephone, email, in person or via inhouse IT/systems. 
• Be willing to receive and engage positively with any visitors to the warehouse and office space.
• Support FSSW events.
• Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in support of the main purpose of the role, including liaising with the wider FSSW team. 
• Uphold high quality customer care and standards of conduct when dealing with all stakeholders and the public.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria 

• Full/part qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA or equivalent) 

• Minimum of three years’ experience in a financial leadership role; setting and curating a positive workplace culture 

• Proven experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and year end reporting 

• Demonstrable experience of managing and mentoring a finance team 

• Hands on experience of preparing year end accounts to trial balance and managing the year end process both internally, and externally with external independent examiners and auditors 

• Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft, and Google products

• Proven track record in driving a culture of continuous improvement and best practice internal controls 

•  Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills 

• Excellent organisation skills to ensure daily operations are carried out safely and efficiently 

• Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively 

• Excellent attention to detail, comfortable using own initiative, managing priorities and workload 

• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; with a solution focus

We’re looking for an experienced Change Programme Manager to join our Programme Development team on a maternity cover basis. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Programme Development roadmap, ensuring that projects are effectively initiated, scoped and delivered successfully; on time, on budget and to requirements. You will work closely with colleagues across The Trust to successfully deliver these projects throughout the delivery life cycle from inception to launch, including proactively managing risks and issues and ensuring control of project timelines, budgets and deliverables.

About the role

We are seeking a Learning and Development Manager to work with the Director of Partnerships and Federation Development to develop an ambitious learning and development strategy for Emmaus UK.

As the Education and Employability Mentor, you will have oversight of a variety of different programmes, playing a vital role in the development and delivery of these. • Deliver our current mentoring provision and look to expand into different stakeholders in our focus boroughs
• Lead the delivery of our Try Time programme, developing the Harlequins Foundation alternative provision offering
• Drive partnership opportunities to provide alternative provision within schools across Hounslow and our other focus boroughs
• Maintain and develop relationships with local schools and local authorities to refer suitable programme participants
• Lead on recruitment of programme participants from relevant referral sources and delivery partners, researching and establishing new relationships as required
• Support Education and Employability Mentor (EEM) with delivery of Employability Academy
• Support delivery of our NEET (not in Education, Employment or Training) projects and programmes

Your skills and experience:

• Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience
• Have or willing to work towards gaining qualifications required to deliver and assess vocational qualifications
• Experience of working with children and young people, preferably in a classroom environment
• Experienced in engaging young people from a range of backgrounds, including hard to reach and disadvantaged young people
• Experience of managing essential stakeholder relationships while maintaining and developing new referral channels and programmes
• Experience using monitoring & evaluation tools, for example, Signal Stoplight, Upshot and Sport Value Bank
• RFU ERCA (or equivalent NGB coaching award)

You’ll also be the guiding light for our delivery partners and service providers as we want them to deliver the best experience and outcomes for our young people. High-fives all around! Roll up your sleeves and deliver employability sessions directly to our incredible young people. You'll also help our Delivery Partners and volunteers do the same, both in person and virtually through our trusty MS Teams. When we're doing things face-to-face, you’ll need to hit the road and be there in person to help with programme delivery or programme visits to make sure all is running as smoothly as possible.

And if that’s not enough to keep you busy, you’ll also be keeping meticulous records of information and data on our young people, volunteers, and partners. It's all about making sure every step of their journey is accurately reflected in our systems so that it complies with our funding contracts.

The Programme Manager role

You will account manage skills and employability programmes designed in partnership with industry. You will work collaboratively with our corporate and industry partners to support teachers and students in schools and further education institutions access a range of TTF educational programmes.

• Management of multiple projects and events
• Team management (experience of line managing direct reports)
• Building exceptional relationships with our corporate partners, teachers and volunteers
• Use systems and administrative processes
• Evaluation and reporting

LTSB does not have its own offices, so you will work remotely, but this role has significant in-person delivery expectations at partner organisations and corporate supporters, as well as occasion travel to our city hubs Birmingham, Liverpool, London, and Manchester. Position will require DBS Disclosure at enhanced level.

Key Responsibilities

Website

• Responsibility for maintenance and development of Resurgo’s website, delivering engaging content with a focus on dynamic visuals and videos, tailored to our different website audiences.
• Optimise user journeys across all Resurgo’s digital channels.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective.

Oversight of Spear Programme Spear

Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.

• As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education

Line management and training

• Manage the Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Be line managed by River Church staff, locally, and by Resurgo, nationally, to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPI.

Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry

• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help the Assistant coaches to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
• Ensuring the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church
• Work with the Head of Operations and Fundraising Assistant to prepare successful grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.
• Attend and participate in Staff Meeting, Tuesday morning Prayer Meeting, and Sunday Services (serving on a team at one or more Sunday service) • Regularly pray for Spear, River Church, and in particular our Social Transformation work.

Overall purpose
