What this role entails?
The Medical Sciences Divisional development team works collaboratively with colleagues across the Division and across the Development and Alumni Engagement team at the University of Oxford.
This is a key role within the team and the post holder will have the opportunity to work with donors and academics. Development at Oxford is well established and this role has the scope to work across a number of important and high-profile projects related to the medical sciences.
The post holder will manage a portfolio of more than 100 major gifts prospects. They will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of potential donors able to support projects in the Medical Sciences Division at Oxford, typically in the range of £100,000-£500,000 over time, alongside to supporting the fundraising activity of the Head of Development – Medical Sciences.
To be successful in this role:
- Proven fundraising experience in a complex organisation and direct involvement in securing major gifts at the £50,000 level and above
- Ability to identify new donor prospects and engage with potential donors to successfully acquire new gifts
- Ability to think both strategically and tactically about the relations between potential donors and fund-raising goals
- Ability to establish credibility, confidence and robust relationships with existing and prospective donors, and key stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- An interest in the medical sciences
- An interest in higher education and ideally an understanding of the University of Oxford, and its goals in teaching and research

This is an exciting time to join our fundraising team in the Development, Alumni and Campaigns Office. We have just launched our new £100m fundraising campaign and we wish to appoint an individual who shares in our passion for philanthropy.
We are looking to recruit a highly skilled individual to join a dedicated and enthusiastic fundraising team where you will be personally responsible for providing on-demand and planned research and analysis, using and developing specialist internet search technology, algorithms, AI and software to identify lost alumni and prospects to significantly enhance our capability to identify prospects.
This post is based within the Data and Research unit of the Development Office, as part of the University’s fundraising programme.
Educated to A level standard (or equivalent qualification or experience) in a directly transferable role, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of the prospect research strategy to ensure there is a robust pipeline of high value donors. You will focus on researching donors and prospects, analysing data for prospect capacity and propensity, creating donor profiles, and identifying priorities for relationship managers to achieve income objectives.
The post is available immediately on a full-time indefinite basis. The appointment will be considered at grade 6 or grade 7 dependent on skills and experience. The Holocaust Educational Trust (HET) is a registered charity working with schools, colleges and communities across the country to raise awareness about the Holocaust and its relevance today.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Education and Production Officer to join our team based in Central London. After several years of research and development, we have recently launched Testimony 360, a brand-new digital programme for UK secondary schools that uses interactive survivor testimony and virtual reality to innovatively teach about the Holocaust. Through the programme, students can have a personal and conversational experience with a recording of a Holocaust survivor before seeing some of the sites they experienced for themselves using virtual reality headsets, all without leaving their classroom.
The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Trust’s Testimony 360 Team, responsible for the digital post-production and testing of interactive recorded testimony to ensure its fluency and usability in the classroom. We are looking for an individual with confident IT skills and the ability to quickly learn how to use new technologies and programmes. As an expert in Holocaust education, you will also contribute to the successful delivery of our Testimony 360 programme through weekly in-person school visits during term time or as required.
Responsibilities
Post-Production, interactive survivor testimony
· Lead on the development (post-production) of interactive testimony, including clipping, annotation, data/metadata input, and Alpha/Beta testing. Throughout testing, leading the training process which ensures the system’s accuracy.
· Maintain regular contact with our partner organisation, the USC Shoah Foundation, including progress updates, shared learning, required training.
· Support colleagues undertaking training and/or working on supportive post-production.
· Logging activity and decisions regarding the post-production editing process, as discussed with members of the Testimony 360 team and/or USC Shoah Foundation.
· Organise and deliver Alpha and Beta testing stages, working directly with students both online and in-person to deliver test sessions and action necessary follow up (to ensure learning from test sessions is fed back).
Delivery
· Contribute to delivery of Testimony 360 through regular, in-person school delivery as part of the wider team, ensuring that the programme is delivered through a robust pedagogical approach. Expected to deliver Testimony 360 one every two weeks throughout term time.
· Plan and deliver Beta testing sessions as part of the development of the interactive testimonies, sharing knowledge and expertise with other Education Officers supporting in this delivery.
· The successful applicant may also be expected to deliver educational sessions to students, teachers and our young Ambassadors outside the Testimony 360 programme and throughout the year. In-person sessions will take place in the UK and sometimes abroad.
General
· We expect all members of the Education team to share their learnings and expertise both internally and externally. This role will require discussions about our learnings from Testimony 360 with the wider Education team, and we encourage consideration for how these learnings might feed into our wider educational offer.
· As an educational charity, we must ensure that education about the Holocaust is the core of all work. To this end, members of the Education Team are responsible for supporting the wider teams as they develop, plan and deliver on broader public engagement, fundraising, and awareness-raising initiatives.

We are seeking a Research Funding Officer (Research Impact) to work mainly on our Research Grant Programme. You will have experience working in a fast-paced research environment, whether in academia or research administration/management. Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills are essential for engaging a diverse range of audiences. Additionally, you should possess a solid understanding of statistical analysis. A Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or Nutrition is required, while a Master’s degree is preferred but not essential. An interest in science communication and social media is also desirable.

About Lepra
Lepra is dedicated to addressing leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF) and their consequences through direct support, advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive communities. We work in Bangladesh and in India, through our sister organisation, LEPRA Society. We work in partnership with people affected by leprosy and LF to improve detection, ensure access to treatment and care, and promote inclusion and wellbeing. We have just finalised our new Global Strategy for 2024-30, which will guide us in our efforts to accelerate progress towards global targets for leprosy and LF, and towards our vision of a world free from leprosy and LF.
Job Context
Our new Global Strategy introduces some new approaches and priorities to our work, including: our first ever global Theory of Change (ToC), the most detailed Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) approach ever, and a sub-strategy dedicated to research, innovation and technology: the Global Research, Innovation and Technology Strategy (GRITS). With the finalisation of the new strategy, and as part of our ongoing commitment to improving our impact and efficiency, we are now seeking a consultant to provide specialised research support and technical advice.
Job Purpose
The primary objectives of this role are to lead the transitional phase of the GRITS, creating a detailed operational plan for its implementation; support the management of the existing research portfolio ensuring technical soundness, budget adherence and timely delivery; establish a sustainable pathway for research expertise to be led by in-country professionals.

Key responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the transitional phase of the GRITS.
- Identify and address any gaps or challenges in the current strategy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth transition.
- Support Programmes in the design of new projects / programmes by ensuring proposals submitted are technically sound and capitalize upon learning. Lead on ethical approval applications.

Operational Plan Management
