We are looking for a leader to deliver reading projects in London (hammersmith & Fulham), on a part-time, term-time only basis. You will lead a team of volunteers on three projects per week, being present at a community base while your volunteer team visits local families and reads with children.

You will be a resourceful, confident decision maker able to operate independently on the ground to support your team and be able to engage with our community partners and beneficiaries.

About the role

Breast Cancer Now is focused and committed to putting supporters at the heart of what we do. We’re putting time and resource into better understanding our audiences, so we can provide the most value for them.

The head of supporter experience is integral in driving the strategy to improve the overall experience for those engaging with us. This role will lead our insight-driven approach to measuring and developing supporter experience across the organisation, helping to evolve our supporter-led culture.

Leading the senior supporter insight lead, supporter experience manager and supporter journeys manager, you’ll be a driving force for change and a champion for audiences giving their time, money or voice to Breast Cancer Now, as well as those benefitting from our information and support services. This role will work with stakeholders across all teams to identify projects which could drive continuous improvement, and opportunities for a more integrated approach to improve experience across the portfolio.

About you

You’ll be a passionate champion for supporter experience, recognising the importance of being led by insight and the needs of our supporters and beneficiaries. You’ll have experience in a customer or supporter centric role, where you’ve developed and used insight to design projects which drive continuous improvement to better meet audience needs.

A well-organised person, with excellent stakeholder influencing and communication skills, you’ll be data-led, and confident influencing a variety of stakeholders at all levels. You’re excellent at spotting opportunities and designing team strategies to inspire those you work with.

Primary location of role and hybrid working

This role is primarily based in our Cardiff/Glasgow/London/Sheffield office. Our hybrid working model allows you to work up to 3 days per week at home.

Main Roles

• To provide advice and casework at OISC Level 2/3 on immigration, nationality and asylum law.
• To provide supervision to Immigration Volunteer

Specific Duties

• Manage a complex caseload across the field of immigration, nationality and asylum law.
• Adhere to casework procedures as outlined in LRMN’s policies, the OISC and / or Solicitors Regulations Authority (SRA) standards and the Advice Quality Standards (AQS).
• Interview and advise clients regarding immigration and asylum law procedure, and practice in a sensitive and professional manner.
• Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with OISC registration or similar professional body, e.g SRA.
• Keep up to date at all times with changes in the law by reading and attending training events relating to asylum and immigration.
• To maintain accurate and detailed case records of clients for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval and statistical monitoring, using Advice Pro as appropriate and as required by management.
• Advocate on behalf of clients by telephone, letter and email with appropriate agencies.
• Produce reports to meet funder’s and LRMN requirements.
• Work closely with the Immigration Manager and/or external evaluator in gathering data and information to produce accurate monitoring and evaluation reports.
• To assist the LRMN in liaising with its partners, funders and to provide statistical information and updates as required.
• Work closely with the Immigration Manager in reviewing files and ensure that corrective actions are undertaken.
• Provide regular supervision to Iimmigration volunteers.
• Allocate immigration tasks appropriate volunteers’ knowledge and skills.
• Keep records of supervision meetings with immigration volunteers

Other Duties

• To participate in LRMN staff meetings, maintaining a high level of professionalism and contributing skills and knowledge towards best practice for the organisation.
• To develop partnerships and attend external meetings relevant to the work of information and advice in general and immigration in particular.
• To attend supervision and appraisal meetings and other relevant activities.
• To be administratively self-servicing.
• To participate in LRMN staff meetings, maintaining a high level of professionalism and contributing skills and knowledge towards best practice for the organisation.
• Work flexibly as agreed to meet the demands of the service – this may involve weekend and outreach work.
• Maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to the work of the organisation.
• Comply with LRMN’s policies and procedures.
• Positively promote LRMN and its work.
• Undertake any other work as may be reasonably requested.

We are looking for a Community Key Worker

Salary:             £22,000 - £26,000 (outer London) 

Location:         Covering areas within Essex. Once a week in Waltham Cross

The Minerva London service provides holistic, trauma-informed support for women in touch with the Criminal Justice System. We do this through offering dedicated one to one support, safer women’s centre spaces and specialist interventions and partnerships.

To be successful as the Community Key Worker you will need the below experience and skills.

You will be working in a supportive, friendly, and welcoming team whilst having oversight of a caseload of women, who may be under the supervision of the National Probation Service or in custody, enhancing the offer of holistic support and advocacy services available to them throughout their journey.

Building relationships with other statutory and non-statutory agencies in local communities is vital to build referral pathways and provide a whole system approach to supporting individuals.

To carry out this work you will meet women in the community in your designated borough and co-locate with other agencies including the National Probation Service, as well as regularly attending Advance’s North London vibrant Women’s Centre/office space.

You will be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder and has good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions.

Reports to: Immigration Service Manager

Salary: £38,750 or £42,192 (with IAAS Supervising Senior Caseworker accreditation) plus benefits

We are looking to recruit an Immigration Advisor to provide tailor-made advice to individual clients and to engage them in the process of making informed choices about their future direction. This is an exciting role in our Immigration Team that will work closely with the team to ensure that the centre is able to provide confidential OISC Level 2 and 3 advice and representation, whilst providing support and training to colleagues working at Level 1.  The role is pivotal in providing highly skilled legal advice and representation to vulnerable clients across London at no cost to the individual. This is particularly important at a time where free or low-cost advice is becoming harder to find.

If you have the IAAS senior caseworker accreditation, you will be the key advisor with regards to Legal Aid work, including prioritising Legal Aid cases and ensuring that Legal Aid is used whenever appropriate throughout the team.

Over the last few years, NHYC has grown to a team of over 50 staff.  This role will add capacity to our current Admin Team, supporting the organisation with increased demand around finance, admin and resources.
