Location: Cheshire West and Chester - (borough wide predominantly Ellesmere Port and Chester)

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours

About the Role

The Supported Lodgings Co-ordinator role is a busy and varied one. You will be responsible for ensuring all young people referred to the service, are assessed, supported and placed effectively with their hosts. In addition, you will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training and management of hosts, as well as promoting the service to key stakeholders, and supporting young people directly.

Cheshire West Supported Lodgings service will work across the borough of Cheshire West and Chester and you will be responsible for the effective delivery of it.

Your work will be underpinned by the organisations Endeavour model of assets based, psychologically informed delivery. The aim of which is to ensure that every young person leaves the service with the skills and resilience to be confident and self-determining in their lives.

Working under the direction, guidance and support of the Deputy Supported Lodgings Manager and the Greater Manchester Prevention Team you will be responsible for young people needing longer term placements, as well as sharing responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all hosts and staff at the service.

Key responsibilities include:

• To be the first point of contact for young people and referral partners wanting to access the Supported Lodgings service.

• You will lead on the assessment of needs and risk, predominantly focused on suitable risk management plans for the safeguarding, matching and placement of young people in the homes of hosts

• Arrange all aspects of a young person’s stay with a host, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported, taking into account the support needs of individuals.

• You will have responsibility for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for young people and hosts through regular checks and reporting.

• To work with young people, hosts and other agencies, to prepare them for independent living and access longer term, appropriate accommodation using support plans.

• You will be part of a team responsible for a 24 hour on call service

• You will recruit, vet and train hosts both formally and informally ensuring that the host recruitment policies and procedures are implemented.

• You will be responsible for carrying out regular checks on host accommodation and assisting them to make necessary changes.

• You will proactively work in partnership with multiple agencies including statutory teams, to support the well being and ongoing housing needs of young people, working in accordance with safeguarding, data protection and information sharing protocols.

• You will lead on the active promotion and selling of the Supported Lodgings service to all potential hosts and referral partners, across the voluntary/statutory sectors and within the wider local community.

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

• Experience and an understanding of working with people experiencing homelessness, or people in crisis

• Experience of supporting young people with their support needs, working closely with other key professionals.

• Experience of writing, implementing and evaluating risk assessments

• Experience of supervising or supporting hosts or staff

• An understanding and commitment to working in an assets based way

• Able to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures and follow them through to conclusion

• High level understanding of professional boundaries and ability to maintain them

• Effective collaborative working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to effectively reflect on own practices for ongoing learning and development

• Salary: £28,088 per annum, pro rata, subject to deductions for tax and national insurance contributions as required by law.

In this role, you will support FLEX’s policy and advocacy work to secure access to rights for all workers in the UK and prevent labour exploitation. As well as work delivered directly by FLEX our policy strategy includes  work through coalitions such as the Labour Exploitation Advisory Group (LEAG) and the Taskforce on Survivors of Trafficking in Immigration Detention, two networks made of expert organisations directly supporting people who have experienced or are at risk of exploitation.

With experience in bookkeeping and financial administration, you will love numbers (and spreadsheets), have great attention to detail and be an excellent communicator.  Working closely with the Director, you will be responsible for the administration of the Charity’s finances, leading on tasks including:

• Weekly - invoice processing, payments, petty cash, bank deposits and reconciliation etc 

• Monthly - compiling monthly payroll, creating management accounts/financial reports, supporting Project Managers with financial analysis, and reporting to Director/Trustees

• Annual – preparing budgets, submitting financial returns, reporting at the Annual General Meeting, and working with the accountancy firm to complete the financial audit.

• Ad hoc –financial support for Farm Events, developing budgets and other enquiries.

About the Role

To work as part of a team delivering an assessment, support and move on service to vulnerable clients in supported or community-based accommodation. Your work will be underpinned by the Depaul Endeavour model of assets-based, psychologically informed delivery.

Working under the direction, guidance and support of a manager/senior worker you will be responsible for a caseload of clients as well as share responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers and staff in the service. In accommodation-based services, you will ensure that the accommodation is properly maintained and support the client to sustain their tenancy and participate in a positive and successful move on.

Where the client lives in the community you will ensure that their tenancy is not at risk and that they have the skills and resources to manage and maintain their accommodation. Your work will be underpinned by the Depaul model of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy informed delivery, the aim of which is to support our clients to understand and act on their values, strengths, and long-term vision for their future.

RCS England is one of the most high-profile health commentators in the UK. You will regularly see us advocating for patients and the surgical workforce in the national press. Recent highlights include coverage of our workforce census in The Telegraph and The Independent. Our Faculty of Dental Surgery has also been very vocal about children’s oral health. Candidates should have experience of successfully pitching stories to national media, and know what makes a good health story. You will have a fluent writing style, and be confident working with senior stakeholders to brief them before interviews.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming enquiries and provide accurate, timely and appropriate responses, briefing journalists in line with RCS England key messages and priorities.
• Participate in an out-of-hours rota for media enquiries. Time off in lieu is offered for significant out-of-office hours worked.
• Research, write and distribute press releases, features, letters and other editorial material.
• Draft articles, quotes and opinion pieces on behalf of RCS England spokespeople.

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we care for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. We are currently supporting around 250 families both in our hospice and in family homes.

Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family including end of life treatment and care, respite short breaks, counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy, home visits and much much more.  It costs more than £6.5m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Lincolnshire and Chesterfield and Derbyshire. We receive around 16% of our funding from statutory sources.

Our team of passionate fundraisers work across the communities we serve to generate funds to help children and families make memories they’ll always treasure. We are the only children’s hospice in South Yorkshire, and each and every penny our team raises helps us to put smiles on the faces of the families in our care. The role:

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is seeking two full time Regional Fundraisers. These are key roles that will see you represent Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice by promoting and building awareness of the charity, working within a Corporate and Community environment to raise income and build strong relationships with our supporters.
No day is ever the same but as one of our Fundraisers you can be certain that each day, you’ll be making a real difference to the lives of local families.

You will work amongst a fun and dynamic team, led by the Regional Fundraising Manager where laughter and collaborative working is always on the agenda!

The requirements:

You will be required to represent Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in your designated region by promoting and building awareness of the charity, working within a Corporate and Community environment to raise income and build strong relationships with our supporters. You will be required to understand your audience, working within the area to offer campaigns and activities that engage our donors, whilst positively supporting their donor journey. 

To support this role, you will also have a strong understanding of the fundraising sector and a track record in income generation or have experience of working in the sales industry. You will be able to positively sell and promote the charities key campaigns and initiatives to a diverse audience.

The Oasis Hub Waterloo team are currently looking for a Foodbank Trusts & Corporate Fundraiser to raise much-needed funds for our Waterloo Foodbank and other strategic partners.

The successful applicant would be responsible for writing funding bids for trusts, and also developing relationships with local businesses, to increase our unrestricted corporate income.

Some of the duties of this newly created role include:

· Research and identify potential short- and long-term funders from among grant making trusts and statutory bodies.

· To prepare written applications in co-operation with and on behalf of Waterloo Foodbank projects and ensure suitable budgets are prepared.

· Develop relationships with corporate organisations that align with our values and vision that would be open to an approach for financial support.

The successful applicant will also need to demonstrate:

· Proven successful experience of fundraising.

· Understanding of the statutory and grant-making funding sector.

· Experience of researching and developing targeted proposals for presentation to prospective supporters.

· Experience of fundraising from corporates.

· Excellent written skills including writing persuasive copy for funding proposals.

The role:
 
As a Young Adult Intervention Coach (YIC), you will be responsible for the assessment and implementation of tailored intervention coaching plans for each at risk young person on your caseload. You will work to achieve progression outcomes for each young person that includes reducing mental, physical, and emotional harm and supporting each young person transition to positive, thriving lifestyle both on a one-to-one basis, and in partnership with other individuals and agencies involved in the lives of each young person.

Your purpose is to identify, disrupt, challenge, and support young people to move out of harm and prevent further involvement in harmful activities. This will involve targeted street work, specialised one to one harm reduction and life skills coaching. 

Alongside this you will work with intervention frontline colleagues in tertiary intervention such as knife and gun crime crisis situations as well as working with partner agencies.

You will have robust frontline experience of working with young people, including experience in engaging, assessing, and delivering interventions designed to support young people to build personal resilience and move away from harm and violence. You will also possess sound risk assessment skills and safeguarding knowledge.  A key component of the job role is case management and knowledge of good practice models, which will underpin their practice, is essential.
