The Role 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Training Manager to join an established and well-regarded Gloucestershire disability charity to lead on the delivery of peer led Abuse Awareness, Self-Advocacy and Enablement Training for adults in Gloucestershire with learning disabilities.

Training is delivered through both individual and group training sessions across the county. 

By enabling and empowering Individuals to make decisions and act, the training will support people with a learning disability to develop the skills they need to ensure they are able to safeguard themselves from harm, contribute towards more independent living, and maintain and/or improve their health and wellbeing. 

About You 

You will be a highly motivated and engaging professional, with knowledge and experience in delivering and evaluating the effectiveness of training sessions, as well as guaranteeing the quality of delivery by the wider training team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has an interest in, knowledge and understanding of the daily challenges faced by adults with a learning disability.

The successful candidate will have a background in training or delivering in an academic environment. Direct experience of working with people with a learning disability is strongly preferred.

To be successful, you will have strong facilitation and communication skills, and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders. A proven ability to work collaboratively, flexibly, and virtually, is essential. 

Experience delivering programmes related to diversity and inclusion would be beneficial, in addition to a thorough understanding of safeguarding. 

The post is currently funded by Gloucestershire County Council.  

What you will be doing: 

• Leading a team to deliver our full range of bespoke training to adults with learning disabilities in Gloucestershire.

• Delivering the Building Circles Training to professionals and peers.

• Providing direction and prioritisation of course content in line with the Service Specification to meet the needs of those referred to the service.

• Working with the trainers and training administrator to recruit and train a team of co-trainers. 

• Ensuring all training is outcome driven and measured against key performance indicators. 

• Ensuring impact is measured and reported on to our Service Contract Managers, CEO and Board of Trustees 

• Closely collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and service providers to ensure timely intervention and support for referred individuals and groups

Duties include: 

Delivery of training to individuals and groups with a learning disability across Gloucestershire. 

Delivery of training to professionals/social workers/teaching staff across Gloucestershire

Staff training to colleagues as required

Building relationships with providers to sustain training year on year 

Recruit and line manage a team of Experts by Experience, providing them with appropriate CPD and ongoing support. 

Ensuring information shared online, social media and on our website is accurate and up to date. 

Delivery of presentations to stakeholders to raise awareness of training. 

Keeping up to date with changes in the law which are communicated via our training.

Collecting, collating, and analysing feedback from sessions in line with the Service Specification. 

Ensuring all feedback and impact data is up to date for reports to Service Contract Managers, Trustees, CEO

Management, including regular supervision sessions, for trainers and co-trainers

Responsible for accurate documentation of all disclosures and safeguarding concerns

Assist CEO with bid writing for training projects

Other duties  

Attendance at Building Circles events

Assisting with other responsibilities and workshops when required

GDWG has an exciting part-time opportunity to join our team as a fundraiser. In this role you will work with the Director to manage our fundraising portfolio. We are looking for either an experienced fundraiser or someone who is at entry level who is keen to learn on the job.

GDWG is a charity committed to improving the welfare and wellbeing of people who have experienced immigration detention, through offering friendship and support and advocating for fair treatment. We primarily work with people detained at Tinsley House and Brook House Immigration Removal Centres (IRCs) at Gatwick Airport. Our volunteer visitors befriend and make weekly visits to people in detention. Our advocacy project Refugee Tales calls for a future without detention, and works with people who have experienced detention to call for change. 

We require blended working from home and from our office in Crawley. This is a one-year fixed term contract with the likelihood of extension. The role requires someone who can demonstrate a high level of written and organisational skills including meticulous record-keeping in a fast-paced work environment. Fundraising experience with trusts and foundations is preferred.

The Role

In May 2024, the organisation launched REACH (Researching Effective Approaches for Children): A plan to find out what works to prevent domestic abuse and support child victims. 

You will develop a detailed plan to operationalise the REACH Plan, including the structure, governance, funding, partnerships and activities that will lead to finding what works in prevention and recovery from domestic abuse. You will also build key relationships in the sector, in survivor networks, in academia and among research funders and in national government to ensure acceptability and secure support for the plan and its objectives

Working closely with the leadership team, you will progress the existing plan to the point of being ready to launch a successful programme of work in April 2025.

Roles and Responsibilities

Donor Analytics & Moves Management (40%)

• Regularly review and update donor portfolios based on departmental criteria, donor behaviour, and portfolio criteria

• Manage incoming donor portfolio requests

• Collaboratively develop, launch, and administer a moves management process in line with Mission 44’s CRM that provides insights on movement of donors through the donor lifecycle; delivers qualitative and quantitative data on individual fundraiser activity; and other related reports

• Create reports / dashboards to inform the team and board on donor retention and attrition rates compared to industry standards.

• Maintain highly accurate and current donor data that effectively tracks key information, cultivation activities and histories, and solicitation and reporting calendars

• Prepare monthly and quarterly revenue reports, weekly giving reports, and various financial and fundraising dashboard reports for the Finance Committee and Board of Directors

• Work with fellow team members to facilitate regular (quarterly or monthly) lapsed donor reporting to provide team with actionable leads

• Regularly (quarterly) report on progress to goals and metrics, and overall fundraising activities to produce key insights and observe trends

• Oversee and manage guidelines and practice of the import and export of activities related to donor engagement (e.g. events and missions)

Donation & Data Management (20%)

• Process all gifts and ensure timely tax acknowledgment letters are sent to donors (within 48 hours of receipt of gift)

• Reconcile gifts with the Finance Department and support with the annual audit

• Generate various mailing lists for the Development Department

• Manage pledge payment tracking and reminders and follow-up processes for multi-year donors/gifts.

• Oversee and create donation/solicitation coding and prepare backup gift documentation

• Ensure all data entry is accurate and regularly checked for errors to maintain data integrity

Team Coordination and Administration (20%)

• Working closely with the Chief Growth Officer and Head of Fundraising, support the administrative planning and delivery of team strategy days, away days and other key internal meetings, including meetings with Mission 44’s wider ecosystem.

• Ad hoc support for annual events

• Create templates for emails and pitches to support donor cultivation

• Provide administrative support to the Fundraising Team, including calendar management, scheduling meetings, and travel arrangements.

Prospect & Donor Research (20%)

• Perform regular wealth screenings of entire donor base to maintain accurate and updated prospect data

• Develop and operate a process that proactively researches donors and prospects with ultra-high net worth to create a bench of qualified prospects

• Conduct donor and prospect research and analysis based on requests from the team and SLT, or before events and cultivation meetings

• Create data-informed prospect lists and profiles for major prospects and analysis to help fine-tune donor cultivation and relationships.

• Continually monitor industry standards and trends on prospect research practices to ensure practices remain ahead of the curve

Purpose of the role

The role will develop our fundraising strategy for the charity and manage Surrey Coalition of Disabled People’s fundraising activity including community grants, individual, corporate and legacy fundraising.

Artistic Director

We are seeking an experienced visionary Artistic Director to lead the artistic strategy, shape creative programmes, and open up pathways for young people into the music industry.

Location: Gloucester/hybrid, with some travel across the UK

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and visionary Artistic Director dedicated to supporting young people from challenging backgrounds and empowering the next generation of music industry leaders.

You'll work closely with the CEO and the team to:

• Reach over 100,000 young people annually through direct engagement, performances, digital content, and school programmes across the UK
• Empower young leaders through the enhanced youth participation framework, exploring co-leadership models at the highest levels of the organisation
• Drive innovation in music education across the UK to make it more relevant, industry connected, and accessible to all young people, regardless of background
• Spearhead the artist development and creative careers programme, addressing sector under-representation through diverse local and national opportunities
• Cultivate a range of performance platforms, partnering to create unique showcasing opportunities for young artists
• Establish the organisation as a national centre of excellence, sharing its models of change and advocating for the transformative power of music in young people's lives.

You'll be instrumental in creating pathways for diverse young talent, influencing national policy, and demonstrating how music can address broader social challenges like mental health and youth violence.

This is a key role within Learning and Work Institute (L&W), responsible for delivering high-profile, impactful programmes of research and development, focused on employment and better work.

This will involve leading programmes of research and development work aligned to ambitions in our strategic plan 2024-2029: making the case for widening support to find suitable work to groups who currently miss out, in particular disabled people; improving employment support and in-work progression by evaluating programmes, disseminating evidence and identifying new ideas to trial; focusing on how work, skills and health services (and wider support services) can work better together to support more people into work; and considering how to promote healthy and inclusive workplaces with access to training and development opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Research and Development

· Design and lead research and development (R&D) programmes and projects, particularly on employment, job quality and the labour market

· Identify and secure income to fund projects, including through proactive approaches to funders and partners, and responding to tenders and calls for proposals

· Ensure that work is delivered to time and quality expectations, within budget, with appropriate measures of its impact, and with regular engagement with partners and funders

· Develop and maintain effective relationships and networks with key stakeholders involved in relevant policy, delivery and research fields – including national, regional and local government, other national/local agencies, trusts and foundations, service providers, and other research centres and think tanks

· Speak and present at external events as a representative of L&W

· Keep up to date with key developments in policy, research and practice, especially on employment, employment support, labour market issues, and social and economic inclusion

Person Specification

 Essential Skills: 

• Degree (in a relevant subject e.g. economics, other social science, statistics), equivalent qualifications or evidence of equivalent experience
• Proven track record in delivering complex and high-profile programmes of research and development work, including managing and mobilising resources, and delivering to time and quality expectations within budget
• Understanding of current policy and practice in relation to employment and the labour market, and low pay and progression, at a national and/ or local level
• Strong understanding of quantitative and/or qualitative research, with the ability to design, develop and utilise appropriate methods and tools to support high quality research and development work
• Proven track record in building strong relationships with government, delivery organisations, partners and funders
• Experience of developing and leading a high-performing team, including co-ordinating and managing projects and priorities, and supporting professional and personal development

About the Role

Our Pro Bono division delivers projects free-of-charge to charities and not-for-profit organisations within the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, with the aim of making a real difference to causes that our staff care about. We offer our full range of services on a pro bono basis, working collaboratively across our divisions and office locations to secure the right expertise to fulfil project briefs. Examples of recent pro bono projects can be found on our website and include creating patient information and education materials, and helping organisations to build their evidence base.

By joining as an Analyst within our Pro Bono division, you will develop the appropriate skills and deliver projects that require a broad range of technical expertise and knowledge across our service offerings, including health economics, literature reviews, medical writing, peer-reviewed publications, medical education and design materials.

Whilst your “home” division will be the Pro Bono division, you will work across commercial and pro bono projects with colleagues in all divisions. • Creating materials for different audiences, often for patients, their carers or healthcare professionals
• Working on several projects in different disease areas at any one time

 About the role

As the Hospital Based Youth Worker, you will be supporting young people, aged 11-19, presenting at UCLH emergency department or who are inpatients within various areas of the hospital for whom there are safeguarding or there psycho-social support needs identified. The work with young people will be primarily hospital based, but you will also support some young people for longer term support in the community. You will engage with and support young people with their immediate needs and connect them with relevant community services for further support. Working in partnership with other professionals you will support young people’s holistic needs to enable long term improvement of healthy behaviours and opportunities to thrive.

To succeed in this role, you need to be proactive, a people person and passionate about supporting young people. You will have extensive experience working with young people who are vulnerable and have a wide range of needs, and a strong understanding of the support they need. You will ideally have a thorough understanding and knowledge of services for young people in Camden and Islington and other London boroughs and both community and local authority-based partners. Resilience, self- reflection and flexibility are all essential to this role and you will participate regularly in clinical supervision to broaden your practice and emotional literacy.

You must also be a skilled communicator: as comfortable building a relationship with a young person as you are liaising with our clinical colleagues in hospital and community-based partners. You’ll be keen to keep learning, seizing training opportunities at Redthread and continuously reflecting upon and improving your practice.
