About the role

The Communications Officer has a key role to play in planning and delivering communications to key stakeholders including carers, members, supporters, volunteers, partner organisations, and staff. The post holder will write, edit, co-ordinate and publish content across various channels, including the website, social media, digital, print and through integrated communications and marketing campaigns.

The Communications Officer will deliver consistent messaging, including across all nations, appropriate for audience and channel, that helps build awareness of, and connection to, Carers UK.

More about the role:

The Database and Gifts Officer role is integral to the Development and Alumnae Relations (DAR) department, supporting the school’s fundraising and engagement efforts. The postholder will manage and maintain the alumni and donor database, ensuring the accurate entry of gifts and pledges, and collaborate with the Finance team to ensure financial data is up to date and reconciled. Additionally, the post holder will create targeted mailing lists, conduct due diligence on prospective donors, and support the identification of lost alumnae. The role also involves ensuring compliance with data protection laws and contributing to DAR events, which may occasionally occur outside regular hours .

Key Responsibilities:

• Experience of working on a database, extracting, interrogating and reporting on data.
• Knowledge and experience of Raiser’s Edge, Toucan Tech or a similar fundraising database.
• Demonstrated track record of processing gifts and donations
• Proven track record of database administration, import/export, configuration and problem resolution.

The Head of Finance will lead the finance team, ensuring robust financial management and sustainability to support our charitable objectives. The role:

• Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organisation’s visions e.g. treasury management, developing long term cashflow strategies to maximise returns to the organisation.

Essential criteria:

• Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualified financial and operational management experience.
• Proven experience at a senior level in a finance role with responsibility across the entire finance function, including hands on experience in delivering business partnering.
• Knowledge of the legislative, tax and regulatory framework of companies, ideally in the not-for-profit sector.
• Leading an end-to-end external audit process.
• Developing/improving and implementing financial procedures and controls.

Vocations and Placements (18-30) Development Officer

Hybrid Working: Connexional Team staff based at Methodist Church House or Cliff College have a hybrid work pattern which is currently 2-3 days in the office.

The Vacancy

The Methodist Church is at an exciting point in the development of its ministry with young adults (18-30). We are seeking to appoint someone with enthusiasm and passion for seeing young adults connect with God and explore their calling as a follower of Christ.

This role is integral to the delivery of the Young Adult Ministry Development Plan, and will focus on the following priorities:

• The management, development and advocacy of a new Young Adult Mission Placement Scheme, which aims to provide opportunities for young adults to be employed (or volunteer) in mission-focused placements in local churches and circuits where they can explore their vocation.

• Advocating for, supporting and enabling creative and relevant young adult ministry to be started and embedded in circuits and districts by journeying with local circuits/districts, providing advice and mentoring as appropriate to pilot creative projects for young adults to engage with and grow in discipleship and vocation.

An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be incurred by the Methodist Church.

Since 2021, IRC UK has also provided integration services directly to refugees in England, a programme that is rapidly growing.

The Purpose of the Role

The Executive Director, IRC UK is responsible for delivering all of IRC’s targets in the UK, particularly with respect to fundraising, advocacy and communications but also UK finance, operations, and people and culture. The Executive Director leads the UK Senior Management Team.

An important objective for the Executive Director IRC UK will be maintaining the UK as a net contributing office within the IRC and to broaden, deepen and make more sustainable the IRC’s access to funding in the UK. This must be through a compelling and relevant external engagement strategy that harnesses the best of our programming globally.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, IRC Europe and the UK Board of Trustees, the role provides organisational and staff leadership and accountability to IRC UK in a shared management structure. The Executive Director, IRC UK works closely with members of the IRC Senior Leadership Team for Europe to form and implement the departmental organisational agenda.

Given this matrix management structure, it will be critical to the continued success of IRC UK that the Executive Director, IRC UK build a highly effective team by influencing and collaborating with senior leaders across Europe and the global organisation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Leadership  Motivate and build a highly effective and collaborative UK senior team to deliver performance against targets in private and statutory fundraising, advocacy and communications.

Purpose of the Job
The Dad Matters coordinators deliver a range of universal and targeted interventions aimed at male parents in the First 1001 Days. They support dads and other male carers with attachment and bonding, mental health and access to service. They also work with professionals and perinatal services to ensure dads and male carers are engaged, supported and heard within clinical pathways.

The post holder will:

• Build on the Home-Start Haringey, Hackney and Waltham Forest foundation of peer support by engaging and supporting dads in one to one and group situations.
• Ensure that parent – infant relationships are a thread through every relationship and conversation with dads.
• Raise awareness of the risks of poor mental health for fathers and their families during the perinatal period
• Raise awareness of the impact on fathers of caring for a partner affected by perinatal mental health issues 
• Develop the Dad Matters volunteer role
• Develop close links with other health and voluntary agencies
• Facilitate regular consultation with fathers through outreach and focus groups

Main Responsibilities

Support to Dads

The post holder will provide individual and group support to dads during the perinatal period.  This will involve the following: 

• Meeting dads at ante-natal clinics
• Facilitating or co-facilitating ante-natal Dad Chats in person and online
• Supporting the developments of support offered to dads with children on NICU and those with partners in receipt of care from Perinatal Mental Health teams, Adult Mental Health, IAPT and Parent Infant Mental Health teams
• Signposting and supporting access to other services as appropriate
• Undertake designated responsibilities to safeguard and promote children’s welfare
• Ensure equality of opportunity, fairness and diversity in all aspects of work
• Facilitate regular consultation with fathers in order to ensure that all resources are targeted appropriately

Promotion & Awareness Raising:

• Maintain up-to-date information for dads and make this available through the Dad Matters website and a range of social media

Recruiting & Managing Volunteers – this will involve:

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. You should be passionate about working with this client group, able to manage a fast-moving caseload, and committed to working collaboratively with a team across multiple services.

• Help plan and run student events, theme nights, and social activities.
