Contract: Permanent, 0.8-Full-time (negotiable based on candidate profile)

Salary: £41,000 per annum  pro rata

Stakeholder Engagement:

● Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to support governance and strategic roles

● Provide excellent donor stewardship and nurture strong relationships with funders

● Identify new opportunities for engagement with the wider community to raise awareness and support for the organisation’s mission

Team Management:

● Lead, mentor, and develop the management team and staff, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment

● Direct line management of Programme Managers, Engagement Manager and Business Manager

About Us:

Appeer is a Community Interest Company (CIC) set up to deliver services that support autistic girls and women (and those assigned female at birth) to connect with peers, to develop their life/work skills and to support their wellbeing.  We provide in person and online activity groups and programmes, alternative provision, events and resources for those in the community that we serve, their parents/carers and other professionals. We are not a therapeutic setting and as such do not offer clinical support or 1:1 supervision. We were established in 2019 and have since grown rapidly from a small startup to a robust small-medium  enterprise with a turnover of £250k and serving well over 400 beneficiaries a year.

All our work is firmly rooted in a ‘positive peer approach’, providing an enjoyable, pressure-free and beneficiary-centred space for connecting with others and exploring interests and hobbies in a place they can truly be themselves. We also facilitate light touch exploration of autism and the discovery and sharing of helpful tools and approaches for navigating the neurodivergent experience.

The Finance Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial health and sustainability of the Charity by providing insightful analysis on financial data, by developing intuitive reporting and contributing to the Charity’s data governance. Their ability to understand how underlying non-financial data impacts the Charity’s finances will be critical.

Duties & Responsibilities:​

• Developing and maintaining financial models to gain insight and understanding as to the Charity’s financial performance and future.
• Provide expert financial insights to support strategy development, ensuring balance between operational need and financial stability.

Senior Programme Officer, In2STEM

Salary: £32,000 - £34,000

Length of Contract: Permanent, Full time

Direct reports: The Senior Programme Officer will deputise for the In2STEM Programme Manager one day per week and on occasion, when the In2STEM Programme Manager is on leave. This team consists of 4x Programme Officers and 1x Programme Assistant.

In2scienceUK’s aim is to promote social mobility and diversity in science, technology, engineering and maths. We do this by leveraging the skills and passion of researchers and STEM professionals to support young people from low socio-economic backgrounds to achieve their potential and progress to careers in STEM.

The In2STEM programme is a fantastic opportunity for 16-19 year olds to gain insights directly from STEM industry and research professionals. The programme provides over a thousand students each summer with a blend of online and in-person activities, equipping participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to excel in STEM. 

What we are looking for

We are excited to be recruiting a Senior Programme Officer to join our growing In2STEM Programme team. The focus of this role will be to support delivery and ensure that our young people have an exceptional experience on the programme. You will also be kept engaged through deputising for the In2STEM Programme Manager one day per week.

You will have a good understanding of the challenges today’s young people from less privileged backgrounds may face and bring a proven track record of supporting vulnerable young people and/or adults with a range of support needs, including mental health needs, learning difficulties and disabilities. You will be good at building trust and rapport with young people and have practical experience of appropriately, calmly navigating situations involving safeguarding and signposting for young people and adults.

Duties and responsibilities

The purpose of the Senior Programme Officer role is to support the successful delivery of the In2STEM Programme and ensure our young people have an excellent experience.

Your specific duties will include:

Programme Delivery

• Managing a caseload of students and volunteers from application stage to successful completion of the programme, including recruitment, placement matching, onboarding, event planning and programme delivery (in-person and online), troubleshooting throughout the programme and evaluation.

• Where appropriate, supporting the Programme Manager as the first port of call for programme staff with enquiries or needing advice relating to pastoral care for our beneficiaries.

• Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with partners and funders to further the delivery of our work. This will include for example, working with schools, colleges, academic and professional services staff at universities.

• Creating and developing engaging resources to support the programme including video presentations, posters/flyers, case studies and website text and images.

• Monitoring student and volunteer applications to ensure targets and milestones are met.

• Maintaining up to date records via the programme database and ensuring data protection.

• Ensuring all operations are in line with Health and Safety and Safeguarding policies and procedures.

Evaluation

• Developing programme activities, using student and volunteer evaluation data and staff insights.

• Optimising systems, processes and ways of working, to ensure delivery models are scalable and achieve intended outputs and outcomes to the highest degree of quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.

• Maintaining a comprehensive overview of programme activities, among both staff and partners, and reporting on progress at regular intervals as defined internally and contractually.

• Supporting team members to create evaluation and student data reports.

• Supporting the creation and dissemination of case studies, working closely with the fundraising team to ensure funder requirements are met.

Deputy Managing

• Managing the In2STEM team when the Programme Manager is not working, including preparing and running programme update meetings from time to time.

• Supporting and assisting the Programme Manager to ensure organisational and delivery targets are achieved.

As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the post holder. The postholder will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager.

Person Specification:

Essential

• Track record of experience directly supporting vulnerable young people and/or adults with a range of support needs, including mental health needs, learning difficulties and disabilities, facilitating access to other support services as needed.

• An understanding of the social and economic barriers that prevent some young people accessing STEM careers and an ability to recognise the importance of diversity and inclusion in STEM.

• Knowledge and understanding of the STEM sector, including higher education, apprenticeships and STEM careers.

• Experience of delivering projects for young people including recruitment and caseload working.

• Experience developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation skills and an ability to adapt to a range of audiences.

• Good understanding of safeguarding in practice when working with young people.

• Flexible and adaptable, with an ability to pick up new tasks quickly and keep a level head when faced with challenges.

• Knowledge, understanding or experience of programme or project evaluation.

• Experience of deputy managing or managing staff or volunteers.

Desirable

• Experience of leadership and people management including motivating, coaching and developing team members to achieve results, fostering positive, collaborative working relationships with colleagues.

• Excellent IT skills including experience of Gmail, Google Workspace (or Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and Mondaycom.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Elgin and the surrounding area. About the Role

The Education Team work with more than 150 schools across Sussex to live out the Education vision in the Diocese of being “Deeply Christian, serving the common good”.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Voluntary Aided schools and academies to assist in the management of capital funded projects and the administration of the School Condition Allocation fund. You will work closely with schools to make sure that they’re meeting their legal obligations around the maintenance of school buildings.

Parkinson’s UK works with health and social care professionals to transform Parkinson’s services across the UK.

We do this through the Parkinson’s Excellence Network (PEN), a network of around 6,000 health and care professionals with a shared vision: to build an expert Parkinson’s workforce and improve health and care services for people with Parkinson’s.

We bring together and support health and care professionals to share best practice, network and collaborate, share resources and education, and drive improvements to services for people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.

We currently have two vacancies for Parkinson’s specialist nurses on the national Clinical Leadership Team.

What will be expected of you in this role

You'll:

• Provide strategic guidance to the Parkinson’s UK team through the monthly
• Parkinson’s Excellence Network Steering Group.
• Bring your expertise as a Parkinson’s specialist nurse, acting as a source of expert
• clinical advice for Parkinson’s UK teams.
• Drive engagement and participation with the Excellence Network.
• Inspire, challenge and collaborate with the health and social care professional community to drive significant improvements to Parkinson’s services.
• Act as a professional ambassador for the Excellence Network.
• Attend the annual in-person PEN National and Regional Clinical Leads meeting.
• Support the PEN national calendar of events through attendance or promotion. This includes Excellence Hub meetings and other activities centred around our national priorities.
• Join relevant governance groups, including the UK Parkinson’s Audit Governance Board.
• Act as a clinical media spokesperson for Parkinson’s UK on occasion (optional; training will be provided if required).

• Have a good understanding of the landscape of health and social care delivery, education and workforce development to support the strategic aims and objectives of Parkinson’s UK.

What you can expect from Parkinson's UK

You'll:

• Be formally welcomed and introduced to the Excellence Network and your role
• Be provided with an introduction pack so that you can gain an understanding of where your role fits in.
• Meet with the Professional Engagement Lead or Associate Director of Policy & Health Strategy after 6 months in the role for a review meeting and then annually thereafter (or more frequently if required).
• Be provided with a set of resources and information to support you in your role eg. aready made presentation on the PEN.
• Be invited to an annual event for the National and Regional Clinical Leads, to provide updates, training and opportunities for discussion.

A bit more about the opportunity

Time commitment will be 0.5 days per week (1 programmed activity) to be worked flexibly across the month.

Monthly rate will be based on skills and experience.

Term of consultancy services will be set tenure of 3 years from date of appointment, with an option to extend once for a further 3 years.

We will also ask you/your employer to send across a monthly/quarterly invoice to the Professional Engagement Team at Parkinson’s UK and include a short paragraph outlining what you’ve done in the role each month. We can provide an example of this.

The main objective of the Science Communication Officer role within the Research Impact Management Office (RIMO) Team is to lead on the communication management of a new $57m global Human Challenge Award, Mucosal Immunity in human Coronavirus Challenge (MusiCC) co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Programme and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI). The post holder will have the opportunity to be part of exciting large, collaborative, and international research project to maximise its impact and ensure they meet the funder’s goals and requirements. The post holder will also input on the overall RIMO portfolio of research projects as well as support on the communication and marketing strategy for the office.

The RIMO office is an integral part of Imperial’s Enterprise Department, which provides commercial and business management services to support the award and delivery of funded programmes and projects. The work of Enterprise directly underpins Imperial’s mission, thereby supporting the development of new or enhanced research, education and/or translation capabilities across all faculties of the university and on behalf of Imperial’s academic community. RIMO has a specific focus on managing high-profile international projects funded mainly by the European Commission.

Duties and responsibilities

You will work alongside other members of the RIMO team to provide efficient leadership on the communication requirements and deliverables for our portfolio of projects as well as support the delivery of internal marketing and communication activities of the RIMO office. The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is looking for an experienced, proactive and customer focused adviser to support the work of the wider Advice and Support team

The post holder will be responsible for the Midlands area plus other areas as required with an expectation of completing in person visits across the allocated counties.  The role therefore requires access to your own vehicle and to reliable broadband. IT equipment and a company mobile phone will also be provided. An enhanced DBS check is required for this position.

Please note that whilst this is a remote role, there is a significant in person requirement that means weekly travel across all areas of the allocated counties and an initial expectation as part of the induction to attend the London office.

About the Masonic Charitable Foundation

The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is one of the UK’s leading charities, providing a range of benevolent support to individuals and awarding grants to local and national charities.

Our work helps to encourage opportunity, promote independence and improve wellbeing for thousands of people each year.  Last year, the MCF awarded support totalling around £20 million.  Our support is funded from the donations of freemasons, their families and friends.

The MCF was founded in 2016 following the merger of four charities that had operated separately since the eighteenth century.

Our Regional Advisers are home-based workers who are compassionate and dedicated to responding to the needs of Freemasons and their dependents in their area, providing essential support. • Mentor and offer pastoral care to children and young people promoting personal development.
