We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Direct Marketing and Fundraising Officer to join our Public Fundraising team. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our fundraising activities, particularly during appeals, where your coordination skills will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Appeal Coordination:
- Assist the Direct Marketing Manager - Acquisition in keeping member agency fundraising directors and key suppliers up to date in the run-up to and during appeals.
- Update the fundraising and marketing team budget tracker, ensuring accurate financial tracking throughout the appeal process.
- Support the setup and management of Appeal Toolkits and Appeal Hubs, providing essential assets to staff, member agencies, and suppliers.
- Assist with the coordination and delivery of creative projects across all direct marketing channels, ensuring timely and effective execution.
- Work with the team to gather and report appeal results, providing updates to the Director of Fundraising and Marketing, Executive Team, and CEO’s office.
Ongoing Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage review meetings with suppliers’ post-appeal, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Monitor and update core and appeal budgets, processing invoices and ensuring financial accuracy.
- Support the Director of Fundraising and Marketing in organizing and managing the Fundraising Director’s Group meetings, including diary coordination, preparing presentations, and taking minutes.
- Provide general administrative support to the Fundraising and Marketing team, including setting up monthly team meetings, organizing agendas, and coordinating away days.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in project coordination and administrative support, ideally within a fundraising or marketing environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience with budget tracking and financial processes.

About the package and benefits
- Salary range: £35,000 - £42,000 (pro-rata)
- Location: We’re a national organisation with an office in London. All of our team work in a hybrid way, which varies depending on role and location. This role requires at least 1 day per week/fortnight in the office during the induction period. Beyond that, you are required to come to London at least once every 6 weeks.

Resuscitation Council UK’s (RCUK) Communications and Engagement team delivers creative communications and authentic engagement activities that support the organisation’s vision to ensure that everyone in the UK has the skills they need to save a life and receive appropriate resuscitation.
Our audiences include health and social care professionals, members of the public, charities, professional bodies and associations, UK policymakers and campaigning groups.
We are looking for a creative self-starter with a passion for digital marketing and skilled in community management.

Digital marketing plays a key role in our ability to raise awareness for, and build the profile of, Resuscitation Council UK, our guidelines, courses, and standards. Working with other members of the Communications and Engagement team, you will support on digital aspects of campaigns and initiatives to further public awareness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, defibrillation and support for survivors.
The post holder will work closely with all members of the Communications and Engagement, Governance, Operations, Clinical and Service Development departments and build strong relationships with the wider resuscitation community. Main responsibilities and duties
Website, SEO & PPC
- Write/produce, build and publish content for the RCUK website, including articles, features, statements and updates, ensuring diversity and inclusion is considered in everything we do.
- Ensure all content, imagery or files uploaded to the website are of an optimal file size and comply with accessibility guidance e.g., alt text, descriptive links.
- Support the Digital Media and Marketing Manager to deliver the SEO priorities for the organisation and increase RCUK’s reach.
- Use insight (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Crazy Egg, surveys etc) to identify content gaps and opportunities for website improvements in line with user requirements.
Campaigns
- Support the communications and engagement team to deliver on key integrated campaigns across the year.
- Support on the delivery of marketing and communications strategies for core RCUK products: including generating sales for commercial products such as e-Lifesaver and paid events such as conferences through digital marketing and direct communications.
- Support the Media and Campaigns team with asset creation and amplify media opportunities via our digital channels
- Support the Policy and Public Affairs team with uploading policy briefings and maintaining resource repositories
- Identify hooks and opportunities to promote RCUK’s work and increase digital engagement.
Email Marketing
- Project manage the delivery of email marketing communications in line with the organisation’s aims and objectives to engage our core audience with RCUK’s work.
- Support on the delivery of our annual BAU email communications calendar.
- Evaluate the impact of RCUK emails activity, through regular analysis of emails sent, and use this insight to get a better understanding of how audiences are engaging with our email content and to continually improve email communications
- Ensure all emails are sent in line with General Data Protection Regulation (or GDPR).
- Support the development of a new email strategy to support business growth (e.g. e-Lifesaver prospects through sales journey) and audience segmentation.
Social media
- Create, curate and share high quality social media content using a range of different and innovative formats.
- Monitor RCUK’s social media portfolio and identify opportunities for RCUK expansion onto other social media platforms in line with organisational objectives and where the audiences we are trying to reach are.
- Respond to comments across our social media channels and build support within our online community through engaging in conversations. Answer queries (liaising with other teams as required) and escalate any reputational issues to the Digital Media and Marketing Manager.
- Identify opportunities and content for paid campaigns.
- Work with the Digital Media and Marketing Manager to evaluate the impact of organic and paid social media activity through monthly reporting and analysis of larger initiatives and campaigns.
Other
- Champion RCUK brand and style guidelines to ensure RCUK communications are consistent across all comms channels.
- Use Canva/Adobe suite to design BAU social media graphics and toolkits for campaigns.
- Ensure our content is accessible and reflects the diverse resuscitation community and society as a whole.
- Represent and promote the organisation and its products at internal and external events that RCUK is exhibiting at.
- Manage the Communications inbox on a rota basis with the Media and Campaigns Officer & Policy and Public Affairs Officer.
- There is an occasional need for weekend/evening working and time off in lieu is granted in line with our time off in lieu policy.
- Support writing creative briefs for external design agency.

Are you our new Digital Communications Officer?
We are looking for a creative social media native who is comfortable not only with presenting UWC to different audiences but also collaborating and supporting our different stakeholders in doing so. You will join the Communications and Engagement Team at the UWC International Office (UWCIO) which consists of six people and report to the Digital Communications Manager.
As a Digital Communications Officer, you will create, develop and deliver content across all UWC International’s social media channels in line with our social media strategy and lead on sourcing or creating the relevant, required reporting to demonstrate engagement and impact. You will also support UWC’s truly global network of volunteers through digital resources, templates and training. In doing so, you will use your digital communications skills for the better, contributing to the success of the movement and supporting young people to access transformational educational opportunities they would otherwise not have dreamt of.
Part of the larger Advancement Team at UWC International, the Communications and Engagement Team provides the UWC movement with strategic leadership, support and advice in the area of internal and external communication, PR, promotion, marketing, crisis communications, alumni and wider community engagement, and partnerships with other organisations. The Team has a coordination and support function for teams across the UWC International Office, as well as other UWC stakeholders globally, such as UWC schools, colleges, national committees and governance bodies. Alongside your business-as-usual tasks, you will support the Digital Communications Manager in coordinating with the advancement and admissions teams at each of the 18 UWC schools to run ad-hoc campaigns and manage external stakeholders and partners.

The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Marketing & Digital Engagement to lead our efforts in inspiring, engaging, and empowering communities, volunteers, and supporters across the UK. This is a critical new role, focused on implementing and operationalising our new strategy, enhancing our reach, and building the foundations for our future growth. The role offers the opportunity to lead the development of Trees for Cities’ first national digital engagement strategy, ensuring we build strong connections with communities and supporters through creative campaigns and digital platforms.
