We are seeking an individual to undertake the role of Head of Major Gifts. The position requires you to grow and where possible exceed the Funds net income over the next five years. You will possess strong leadership skills, be responsible for setting and delivering on annual targets, leading and managing the Major Gifts teams. About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the MHA Fundraising department as the Legacy & Individual Giving Assistant.

Reporting to the Legacy & Individual Giving Manager, you will be a key member of the Fundraising team at MHA. It is a wide-ranging role that will be crucial in making sure that the team meets their aim of increasing income from individuals and securing future income from gifts in Wills.

Key Responsibilities​

An exciting part-time opportunity has arisen for an experienced Events Fundraiser to help grow our third-party challenge events portfolio.

If you have events fundraising experience, a knack for planning and executing exceptional supporter experiences, are highly organised and comfortable overseeing multiple third-party event cycles simultaneously… Then we want to hear from you!

You would be joining a small but dedicated team, harnessing your passion for designing and delivering exceptional, engaging events (whether virtually or in-person).

About you:

The role involves all aspects of managing a portfolio of our third-party events, from initial set-up, marketing, stewardship, event logistics to event evaluation.  As such, we’re looking for an experienced events fundraiser, with a flair for project management, keen eye for detail and a passion for facilitating opportunities for our supporters to reach and achieve their goals.

You’ll be a confident communicator with strong marketing experience, great at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Combined with excellent organisation and time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities whilst keeping to deadlines, you’ll bring your knowledge, creativity and new ideas to help continue improve the experiences of our third-party event participants.

You will be comfortable using data and insight to monitor event performance, identifying potential opportunities and areas of growth or decline, making recommendations for change where necessary.

your job purpose

Provide triage and administrative support to our direct support team, managing multiple enquiry channels, referral forms and invoices for service users accessing support through our service partners and updating their records on our CRM to ensure we have accurate records to enable them to deliver efficient and effective support to service users.

your key responsibilities 

service user support

• act as the first point of contact for enquiries, confirming service user eligibility, contact details and consents, and preparing their case files for support
• deal with service users who may be vulnerable, living with a physical or mental health condition, in financial hardship, long-term sickness and crisis situations
• complete and submit partner referral forms within 2 working days using information on our CRM so that service user can access services in a timely, professional and friendly manner
• answer telephone calls received by the charity, answering queries and redirecting calls in a professional and friendly manner

CRM database

• create new and accurate electronic service user files and assist the team in maintaining accurate records by inputting data to the caba CRM database
• update CRM records of service user cases, closing them down when service provision has been completed
• email service users updates and key information about the services they are receiving from the charity to keep them informed and able to fully participate

general administrative support

• create, update, and maintain support service purchase orders and usage, liaising with the service providers accounts teams when appropriate 
• provide administrative support to our team of Support Officers by managing enquiries and contributing to the smooth running of our internal support services 
• provide administrative support to our case management officer by completing referrals to partner services

As the Fundraising Coordinator, you’ll:

• Submit, log and track applications.
• Identify potential funding opportunities.
• Write applications to smaller funders (typically £5,000 or less).
• Assist the Fundraising Manager in larger applications.
• Monitor and report to funders, demonstrating clear outcomes and impact.
• Work with the Finance Manager to ensure financial reports meet the funders’ needs.
• Work with the Fundraising Manager to track fundraising income against budgets and actual spend. 
• Help colleagues gather photos, feedback and case studies.
• Ensure all are stored in line with Data Protection legislation.
• Provide additional fundraising and general administrative support where necessary.

About you

With a flair for writing and experience in fundraising (ideally Trusts and Foundations), you’ll be confident in crafting engaging, convincing bids and writing and editing in a professional context.

The post holder will have proven experience in building positive relationships with stakeholders, be able to manage workloads and meet strict deadlines, have an organised, methodical approach to work, and most importantly, be motivated and enthusiastic about Life Cycle’s mission.
