Senior Director of Development & Strategic Partnerships
The Worker Rights Consortium (WRC) is seeking a Senior Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships. This person will lead the WRC’s fundraising and partnerships operations to maintain and grow our financial resources, including working with foundations, other institutional grantors, and large individual donors. The Senior Director will also spearhead external communication about the organization’s accomplishments and strategic vision to audiences relevant to our fundraising and partnership building efforts.

About the Worker Rights Consortium
The WRC is one of the world’s leading corporate accountability organizations. We support garment workers and their unions around the world who are fighting to end labor rights abuses and win better wages and conditions in the supply chains of major global brands. The WRC conducts investigations in factories in more than two dozen countries, documents and exposes labor rights violations, and pressures corporations to deliver concrete remedies to workers. And we pursue strategies to achieve systemic change: pressing global corporations to sign binding agreements with unions and end the pricing practices that compel their suppliers to pay poverty wages, subject workers to long hours of forced overtime, and ignore worker safety in order to slash costs.
The WRC works in partnership with unions and civil society organizations across the Global South and North. The priorities of workers, conveyed by their representatives, guide our work. We measure success by documented real-world impact: helping workers win victories that improve their lives and vindicate their rights.
The WRC is based in Washington, DC. We have 27 staff members located in the US, UK, Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
Senior Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships
The Senior Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships will lead fundraising, outreach, and engagement for the WRC at the level of both strategy and implementation. The WRC’s current annual budget is US$3.3 million, and we seek to grow this in line with our program strategy to roughly $5–6 million over the next two to three years.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to progressively increase annual revenue, including identifying, building relationships with, and securing new funding from foundations, other institutional funders, and individuals, as well as pursuing opportunities to expand relationships with current funders;
- Creating and implementing a framework for strategic external partnership communications, including working with the WRC’s global field team to convey the real-world impact of the WRC’s work and overseeing relevant enhancements to the WRC’s website and other communications pathways;
- Leading on grant writing and framing of external communications;
- Supporting the Executive Director and other colleagues to engage with, and ensure coherent messaging to, donors and other partners—including ensuring that the WRC participates in relevant conferences, convenings, and other discussions related to our organizational mission and objectives;
- Supervising the work of a second development professional who has day-to-day responsibility for grant management, grant reporting, implementation of sub-grantee/grantor arrangements, management of the organization’s small individual donor program, and who also assists with preparation of grant proposals;
- Monitoring progress on grant-funded projects through regular communication with program staff;
- Participating in the development of overall organizational strategy and aligning fundraising strategies accordingly; and
- Contributing to financial reporting and oversight.
This is a full-time position, available immediately. The position is hybrid for a successful candidate who resides in the Washington, DC-area or remote in the case of a candidate who resides elsewhere.
The WRC will consider candidates located within six hours of the US Eastern time zone. For international candidates and US candidates based outside of Washington, DC, the position requires periodic travel to Washington, DC, and possibly other countries in which the WRC works. The Senior Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships will report to the WRC’s Executive Director.
Qualifications
Candidates must have:
- A minimum of seven years’ experience in fundraising for nonprofit organizations and/or seven years’ combined experience with fundraising and strategic communications;
- A substantial track record of successfully cultivating institutional donors and proven experience in establishing new fundraising partnerships;
- Significant experience in communications and storytelling, with an ability to distill complex analysis and program work into communications that inspire and motivate our audiences;
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to initiate, build, and maintain working relationships with existing and potential grantors and a global team across numerous time zones;
- Strong budget management skills and experience delivering against financial targets;
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and rigorous attention to detail;
- Energy, enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and a sense of humor; and
- A commitment to workers’ rights and corporate accountability.
The following are desirable but not required:
- Experience with labor rights work; and
- Experience working in an international context.
Compensation
Compensation for this position is $115,000–$135,000 per year, depending on relevant experience (adjusted to the local currency, where applicable). The WRC provides its US staff, who are covered by a union contract, with an excellent benefits package, including 100% employer-paid family health insurance, including dental and vision care, with an additional flexible spending plan with employer contribution; 401(k) retirement plan with employer contribution; and five weeks paid vacation.

Key Responsibilities
- The purpose of this role is to lead the charities Lotteries and Raffles team which has the goal of generating and inspiring support from both new and existing supporters. This person will advance existing products and campaigns towards their full potential as well as develop new campaigns and activity that drive growth, retention and engagement. In doing so, they will act as a key support to the Executive Director of Individual Giving and Lotteries in ensuring that the department achieves its income generation goals.
- Develop a clear vision and strategy to deliver sustainable income growth within the prize led fundraising channel.
- Drive and oversee all day-to-day activity around lotteries and raffles, ensuring campaigns are effectively coordinated and that broader teams are enabled to support delivery.
- Proactively find ways to increase the impact of the Lottery and Raffle income streams by developing and testing new approaches to player recruitment, retention and engagement.
- Supported by the Executive Director of Individual Giving and Lotteries ensure compliance of the KSS lottery activities against the charities Gambling Commission license conditions
- Ensure that the operations of the entire income stream, including those delivered by external parties, adhere to guidance and legislation set out by associated regulatory bodies. This includes but is not limited to the Gambling Commission, Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator and Chartered Institute of Fundraising best practice guidelines.
Head of Lotteries and Raffles
The role of Head of Lotteries and Raffles is part of the management team within the Individual Giving and Lotteries directorate. This directorate plays a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with our supporters and generating sustainable income for KSS. Our Lotteries have a combined income of £9 million per year, and the Head of Lotteries and Raffles will be responsible for ensuring the consistent growth of these lotteries, and to ensure that we provide engaging and safe fundraising avenue for our supporters.

About the role
It is an exciting time to join the charity as we make significant investments in the fundraising team to focus on promoting Liveable Towns and Cities and develop Paths for Everyone. The Role
Reporting to the Individual Giving who is responsible for cause related products, the Individual Giving Assistant will provide administrative, operational and marketing support for a range of activities across the year. You'll be an integral part of the team, supporting delivery across a variety of individual giving campaigns – such as postal mailings, digital advertising, telemarketing, eMarketing and Face to Face marketing.
This role gives you the opportunity to develop a knowledge of marketing and its application to Individual Giving Fundraising, including stakeholder communications and project management.
Key responsibilities will include:

· Administrative support including raising POs, managing invoices and ensuring all costs are monitored
· Work with the wider team to identify opportunities to improve the supporter experience

About You
You will have experience working in the charity sector and/or within a marketing function and will have key strengths in:
· Organising and prioritising a busy workload
· Strong attention to detail
· Knowledge and interest in the charity fundraising sector

We have an exciting opening for someone to join our senior leadership team leading our campaigning work. The Campaigns Director leads the Campaigns department, crafting our plans and supporting the team to execute powerful, people-powered campaigns that shape the country to be fair, respectful and sustainable. They oversee campaign strategy development, as well as teams that execute our plans, run our social media campaigns, and our public/media affairs work, all while ensuring alignment with organisational goals and political positioning.
The Campaigns Director must maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organisation's financial position, proactively managing budgets and implementing necessary adjustments to ensure organisational health and sustainability. They play a critical role in steering the organisation's narrative, tracking campaign progress, and working collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to align campaign objectives and work in progress with other organisational insights and initiatives.

About the role:

Purpose
This is an exciting time at CBM UK, as we continue to grow and develop our philanthropic
fundraising. To help us achieve our ambitious long-term goals this role requires an
experienced and passionate individual to be part of our Philanthropy Team.
This vital role will lead the programme to build and grow our relationships with High-Net-
Worth Individuals (Major Donors) over the next five years and beyond. Working alongside
the Head of Philanthropy, you will seek to build upon current relationships, as well as
identifying, researching and cultivating relationships with new and lapsed major donors to
increase income for CBM UK’s work.
CBM is a Christian charity, and as a key supporter facing role, the position holder will
represent CBM’s purpose and ethos to all external audiences and will be sympathetic and
embracing of Christian beliefs and values.
You will be part of a dynamic and highly skilled Fundraising and Communications team,
dedicated to inspiring people in the UK to help transform lives in some of the world’s
poorest places.
Responsibilities and areas of work
This important role will seek to develop our Major Donor income stream, seeking to grow
both numbers of donors and income raised. At CBM, a Major Donor is considered to be
one who has the capacity to give £5,000+ per year and who relishes the opportunity to
have one-to-one, personalised interactions with CBM.
This role will seek to identify new high-level donors, as well as help to develop existing
relationships with our generous supporters.
Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Leadership Team, other team
members and (occasionally) external consultants, this role focusses on building and
consolidating our major donor portfolio, so increasing our donor base and thus our in-year
and pledged income.
Main Goal:
To successfully steward a portfolio of new and existing major donors through tailored
approaches, so securing repeat and multi-year gifts to achieve agreed income targets and
KPIs.
This will be achieved through:
1. New business acquisition:
a) Analysing our current supporter base to build a prospect list, using our database
(Salesforce) and external databases, to assess the potential to upgrade active,
lapsed and prospective major donors.
b) Researching, identifying and securing major donor prospects, through the
identification of high-net-worth individuals who may have an interest in CBM’s work,
and through proactive and effective networking, including working with our Trustees,
Patrons and Ambassadors.
c) Identifying next steps and determining tactics for engagement, including 1:1
working, giving group presentations and delivering pitches at various levels, and
leading on their facilitation.
d) Attending networking opportunities in Cambridge, London and the surrounding
areas to represent CBM and to engage potential major donors in our work
2. Stewardship and cultivation of current and active donors:
a) Developing and implementing tailored cultivation and stewardship plans, so that
individuals are engaged in a bespoke manner, ensuring that they feel a part of CBM
and that their generosity is recognised, through regular reporting, interactions,
updates and tailored approaches.
b) Developing donor-centric applications, proposals and initial approaches (by post,
email, phone and face-to-face) that are driven by insight on donors’ individual needs
and preferences and are tailored to their interests and requirements, following up as
required.
c) Reporting to donors in both formal and informal ways, as appropriate, to ensure
they are kept up to date with CBM, the impact of their grant and project
developments.
d) Hosting and facilitating face-to-face and online meetings with high-level donors,
including organising dates, venues and agendas/ talking points, and creating
Meeting Briefs for all attendees to ensure positive outcomes as far as possible.
e) Promoting the importance of legacies, and legacy income, where appropriate, and
to steward those who have pledged.
f) Organising and managing the successful delivery of at least one Major Donor Event
annually (cultivation, stewardship, thanking etc), to ensure positive relations and
potential new business, in collaboration with our Fundraising and Programme
colleagues.
g) Supporting the Head of Philanthropy and the Philanthropy Officer on the
identification, stewardship and cultivation of potential corporate partners.
3. Proposal and Report Writing
a) Crafting compelling proposals and reports that meet the bespoke needs of major
donors whilst meeting the needs of CBM and our Programme delivery colleagues,
within agreed deadlines.
b) Working with members of the Programmes Team to ensure the accuracy of major
donor proposals / reports, and with members of the Fundraising & Communications
Team to ensure consistency of messaging.
c) Working with the Philanthropy Team to develop new projects/ themes/ appeals for
potential projects.
d) Supporting the Head of Philanthropy on collating information and providing reports
to Foundation donors as needed.
4. Planning and Budgeting
a) Contributing to the development of an Income Generation and Engagement
strategy, led by the Director of Fundraising, Impact & Communications.
b) Closely monitoring income and expenditure, reporting to the Head of Philanthropy
where necessary, and contributing to the creation of yearly fundraising budgets and
plans and quarterly Board Reports.
c) Establishing, monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators, milestones

a) Ensuring all information, donor activity is recorded and kept up-to-date on our
database to fully-inform any approaches/meetings.

Main Responsibilities
You will work both collaboratively and independently to deliver high quality design work for a range of outputs including publications, reports, digital assets, animations, illustrations, marketing and campaign materials, fundraising collateral, and brand development projects . You will act as a guardian and a champion for the Brand, liaising with colleagues and stakeholders from all areas of the organisation to deliver high standard work on schedule, on brand and within budget.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who thinks creatively, is highly inspired and has a well thought through portfolio to reflect this.
- You will have solid experience in designing within brand guidelines for both print materials and digital platforms.
- You will be proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite as well as Microsoft Office applications, to deliver innovative and impactful creative, working from concept to final execution.
- You will ideally have skills in both animation and illustration and will be able to share previous examples of work in both these areas.
- You will be confident in effectively managing internal and external stakeholders at all levels and have experience in working closely with freelancers, agencies and external suppliers and contractors.
- You will be a clear communicator, comfortable with working independently with little supervision as well as part of a collaborative team of other creatives, proactively seeking support or escalating issues as needed.
