The Role
In this role, you will manage key donor relationships, co-ordinate mailings and plan supporter events. You will work closely with the Communications team to develop and implement creative strategies that inspire generous support through digital and social media channels. Your responsibilities will also include developing a new legacy fundraising stream and ensuring all supporter data is managed in compliance with data protection legislation.
About You
With hands-on experience in charity fundraising and CRM database management, you will track and report financial performance against fundraising targets, collaborating with our Philanthropy and Fundraising teams to maximise giving opportunities. Your excellent communication and organisational skills will enable you to prepare compelling cases for support and build strong, lasting relationships with donors

As Fellowship Growth and Partnerships Officer you will be responsible for delivering the growth and development of the organisations network of over 31,000 Fellows in line with the overarching operational strategy. Key responsibilities include:

The successful candidate will have experience in persuading others to take an action through one-to-one conversations and public speaking, whether in sales, marketing, campaigns or another capacity and will be comfortable working to targets, particularly relating to growth or income. Excellent networking skills and the ability to engage new people effectively at events is crucial, as is the ability to think creatively and be able to spot and take advantage of opportunities. Finally, you must have strong data inputting skills and confidence with a broad range of IT systems/the ability to quickly pick up new systems and technology.

Growing Hope Senior Finance Officer

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus. Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We have three clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley and High Wycombe, and we are currently setting up our fourth and fifth clinics in Maidstone and Redbridge. We worked with over 500 children, young people, parents, carers and siblings in 2023. As a national charity Growing Hope has trained over 1,000 professionals & parents. We are continuing to expand, with the set-up of further local clinics on the horizon.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic finance professional with great attention to detail, strong analytical skills and an ability to work in a fast pace environment. The role will report to the Director of Operations and will involve running book keeping, reporting and banking functions as well as overseeing payroll. This role supports the national Growing Hope charity and each of the local charities’ (clinics) accounting for around £1 million collectively each year. You will be joining a small and dedicated national team of eleven.
Job Purpose
Growing Hope requires an experienced finance professional (with part qualifications) who will be responsible for the delivery of internal financial management systems and controls, and for maintaining accurate financial management records, including managing the process of producing annual accounts. This role covers both the national charity and the local Growing Hope charities which are growing across the UK. The national charity raises around £600,000 per year and the local charities around £50,000-£100,000. The Senior Finance Officer will support the charities with day to day book keeping, raising invoices, paying expenses, scheduling payroll payments and running management reports and accounts. This job role also involves advising on budgets for fundraising project proposals and working closely with the supporter engagement team. This individual will be able to communicate effectively with all the relevant parties including the national Growing Hope team, the local Clinic Managers, and local finance trustees who have overall governance of each charity’s finances.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Book keeping & Finance processes
- Processing of accounts using Quickbooks for each Growing Hope charity in a timely manner (currently 6 small charities)
- Paying expenses and invoices as and when these are approved.
- Liaising with payroll provider and scheduling salary payments for all staff each month.
- Invoicing local Growing Hope charities each month for book keeping, payroll and quickbooks.
- Running gift aid claims and supporting volunteers to run this across the Growing Hope charities.
- Liaising with local clinics and churches to agree payment schedules and giving for each financial year.
- Participate actively in prayer and worship times as part of the team. This includes praying, coaching and supporting Clinic Managers to understand their budgets and financial processes.
Fundraising
- Contributing to the fundraising strategy and development of budgets for fundraising projects.
- Contributing to the wider teams fundraising efforts through networking, and involvement in fundraising and community events.
Reporting
- Updating monthly forecast vs. budget spreadsheets for each local charity and the national charity.
- Leading monthly budget reporting meetings for Senior Leadership Team and Chair of Trustees, using analytical skills to highlight patterns or potential risks or problems arising.
- Create annual reports in partnership with the Clinic Managers and Finance trustee for each local charity and ensure these are independently examined by recruiting and liaising with volunteer accountants.
Payroll
- Liaising with the payroll provider to run payroll for all staff across the Growing Hope charities each month.
- Setting up and running pension payments each month.
- Paying NI payments each month.
General administration
- Set up bank accounts and signatories for local Growing Hope charities, support the local trustees with ensuring all financial processes are set up and working (e.g. bank account, Stripe, Quickbooks, payroll, pensions, HMRC)
- Sending letters and emails as required.
- Maintain data protection and confidentiality in line with Growing Hope’s information governance policy.
- Ensure adherence to Safeguarding and wider Growing Hope policies.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the charity sector, an interest in additional needs and inclusion are highly desirable.
ESSENTIAL
- Occupational Requirement - This role has an Occupational Requirement to be a Christian, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010.

About the team
As part of our Communications, Policies and Campaigns directorate we have two large campaigns teams, Digital Campaigns and Strategy and Organising. This role sits in the Strategy and Organising team made up of 15 members of staff working on local and national campaigns.
You will work with the 11 community organisers we have at Shelter, who are based out of the 11 regional hubs, as well as working with three additional colleagues who support Shelter’s national campaigning priorities and the administration of the team. We are offering this unique and exciting opportunity to join in the work of the Connexional Property Support and Environmental Engagement teams and the wider Methodist Church in helping to deliver the strategic target to make all our church property net zero by 2030.

We are seeking a proactive, energetic and enthusiastic Corporate Partnerships Officer to be an integral part of a team which aims to both maximise corporate income and deliver an excellent partner experience. This is an opportunity for an early career professional to learn about charity-business partnerships in a dynamic, small charity which is flexible and agile.
Reporting to our Corporate Partnerships Manager, but also working closely with our Business Development Manager, you’ll support them both to deliver our annual volunteer targets and maintain our strong partner retention rate (currently 88%). London National Park City is looking for a highly collaborative Community Director to join our growing team. You will help us develop and enhance the way all Londoners can participate every day in making our city greener, healthier and wilder.
London National Park City is the long term grassroots movement for everyone making London greener, healthier and wilder. London became the world's first National Park City in 2019 with aim of making our city a place where people and nature are better connected.
This new senior role will be responsible for developing a deeply participatory approach to what it means to be part of the London National Park City community and movement. You will draw upon the wealth of experiments, storytelling, and community programming which has already taken place, and shape the next stage of how we build our movement, and support grassroots communities in every neighbourhood of London.
The core of this role will be the stewardship of our Ranger programme, supporting our community of volunteer Rangers, along with recruiting and managing local Ranger Coordinators in a number of London Boroughs as funding is secured. Key to this will be developing relationships with partner civil society organisations, and working closely with our Partnerships Manager.
You’ll be experienced in building and supporting ‘on’ and ‘offline’ communities, and keen to learn and adopt new and engaging approaches to membership, while sharing what you learn with the wider team and community.
You’ll be disciplined, organised and an excellent verbal and written communicator. You’ll be creative, and willing to chip in, helping out across the organisation, and keeping all our stakeholders and partners informed.
You do not need to have a university degree to apply for this role, and we’ll provide you with additional training and mentoring as you develop your skills.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing our overall approach to community building and participatory membership for individuals, and those from community and civil society groups, and business or corporate members. Your primary responsibility will be evolving and supporting the development of our volunteer Ranger community, enabling each Ranger to be more impactful within their own communities.
Community Membership
- Develop programmes and communications which allow every Londoner to contribute towards delivering the goals and commitments set out in the Charter for London National Park City.
- Detail and implement pathways for everyone to participate and contribute in expanding the reach and impact of London National Park City., and lead and participate in activities within their communities.
- Gather and share activities and contributions from our community, with regular updates on member activities, and collaborations.
- Support ongoing improvements to our email and social media signup journeys on our websites, using ConvertKit, Copper CRM and other tools.
- Contribute membership content to our online Mighty Networks community, websites, email and social media campaigns.
Ranger Community
- Understand and represent the broad needs of our Ranger community and what they need to actively lead greater participation with London National Park City.
- Maintain contacts and working relationships with London National Park City Rangers supporting them to inspire Londoners to make the city greener, healthier and wilder and helping more people to enjoy being outdoors.
- Report on Ranger activities, connections and communities, and where appropriate, work with Rangers to support London National Park City with campaigns and activities.
- Lead on the recruitment and appointment of new Rangers, including evolving and improving our induction and ongoing training offer.
- Share Ranger stories and support the development of media assets to promote the Rangers and their work.
- Manage the Ranger programme budget and allocation of spending.
- As funding allows, and with the support of the Executive Director, recruit and manage local Ranger coordinators.
You will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with your colleagues in our staff team and with our wider group of volunteers.
Requirements
We’re looking for an experienced, ambitious and dedicated colleague who will be able to appropriately prioritise as we secure additional funding and steadily expand our small staff team.
- Experience in an equivalent community management, membership or partnership, or demonstrable experience of transferable skills.
- Demonstrable experience of movement and community building both on and offline, with strong digital skills and a strong affinity of the role of participatory membership.
- An ability to communicate, present to, and coordinate with a wide range of people at all levels of a variety of organisations.
- Excellent oral and written communication in a clear, concise, accessible and effective manner.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is essential.
- Ability to effectively plan and prioritise workload within deadlines, and to set and meet high standards of delivery.
- Demonstrable experience of managing budgets and careful setting of priorities and making trade offs in a small growing team.
- Willingness to work outside of office hours from time to time as the role requires.
- Commitment to the vision of London as a National Park City and the success of the Ranger Programme.

Salary and benefits
You will be joining and fully participating in a unique and inspirational community of changemakers and storytellers, active across London and increasingly around the world.
This is a permanent role and the salary range is £45,000 to £50,000 dependent on experience. We are open to applications for part-time or other flexible working arrangements.
You will have 25 holiday days allowance per year (pro rata for part-time staff).
Following successful completion of a 3 month probationary period, we will enrol you in our Nest pension scheme, and will make additional payments of 4% as long as you contribute 4% of your salary each month.
This role will predominantly be carried out in person at our Visitors Centre in London and remotely from home, with regular meetings and site visits across London, so you must be based in the UK and be prepared for regular travel.

Working on a variety of education-related projects and areas of work as required, example responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day management of the accreditation process of CREST Award activities, including assessing the suitability of activities developed and delivered by partner organisations.

The successful applicant will work alongside our Trustees, our CEO and our existing Head of Fundraising and Communications in a jobshare to meet challenging fundraising targets.
