A leading cultural, social change organisation is looking for a Fellowship Growth and Partnerships Officer on a permanent basis.

 Location: London. Hybrid working (3 days office-based)

 As Fellowship Growth and Partnerships Officer you will be responsible for delivering the growth and development of the organisations network of over 31,000 Fellows in line with the overarching operational strategy. This involves promoting Fellowship internally and externally through events, presentations, responding to enquiries effectively, generating leads, and delivering digital recruitment campaigns.

Key responsibilities include:

• Achieving individual and team recruitment targets by recruiting on a rolling basis suitable individuals for Fellowship.
• Leading on specific recruitment sources to bring in new Fellows, particularly through internal and external events, other engagement opportunities, and digital recruitment campaigns.
• Acting as a point of contact for prospective Fellows, being able to outline in a compelling and confident manner the value of the organisation’s Fellowship to different audiences (including by emails, phone calls, face to face or virtual meetings).
• Managing and delivering webinars and events for those interested in hearing more about the Fellowship, to convince them to join.
• Using the CRM system (Salesforce) and reporting software (Power-Bi) to track and monitor Fellowship recruitment, drawing on data to measure success of different approaches and make decisions about priorities.
• Working across multiple platforms (Salesforce, Eventbrite, Pardot, SharePoint) to coordinate Fellows and team administration, including keeping records up to date, running reports and ensuring a positive Fellowship.

 The successful candidate will have experience in persuading others to take an action through one-to-one conversations and public speaking, whether in sales, marketing, campaigns or another capacity and will be comfortable working to targets, particularly relating to growth or income. Excellent networking skills and the ability to engage new people effectively at events is crucial, as is the ability to think creatively and be able to spot and take advantage of opportunities. Finally, you must have strong data inputting skills and confidence with a  broad range of IT systems/the ability to quickly pick up new systems and technology.

Growing Hope Senior Finance Officer
Location: Hybrid working (2-3 days office based in King’s Cross Mon, Thurs and possibly Fri)

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus. Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We have three clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley and High Wycombe, and we are currently setting up our fourth and fifth clinics in Maidstone and Redbridge. We worked with over 500 children, young people, parents, carers and siblings in 2023. As a national charity Growing Hope has trained over 1,000 professionals & parents. We are continuing to expand, with the set-up of further local clinics on the horizon.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic finance professional with great attention to detail, strong analytical skills and an ability to work in a fast pace environment. The role will report to the Director of Operations and will involve running book keeping, reporting and banking functions as well as overseeing payroll. This role supports the national Growing Hope charity and each of the local charities’ (clinics) accounting for around £1 million collectively each year. You will be joining a small and dedicated national team of eleven.

Job Purpose
Growing Hope requires an experienced finance professional (with part qualifications) who will be responsible for the delivery of internal financial management systems and controls, and for maintaining accurate financial management records, including managing the process of producing annual accounts. This role covers both the national charity and the local Growing Hope charities which are growing across the UK. The national charity raises around £600,000 per year and the local charities around £50,000-£100,000. The Senior Finance Officer will support the charities with day to day book keeping, raising invoices, paying expenses, scheduling payroll payments and running management reports and accounts. This job role also involves advising on budgets for fundraising project proposals and working closely with the supporter engagement team. This individual will be able to communicate effectively with all the relevant parties including the national Growing Hope team, the local Clinic Managers, and local finance trustees who have overall governance of each charity’s finances.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will be discussed and developed as the charity continues to grow.

Book keeping & Finance processes

• Processing of accounts using Quickbooks for each Growing Hope charity in a timely manner (currently 6 small charities)
• Paying expenses and invoices as and when these are approved.
• Liaising with payroll provider and scheduling salary payments for all staff each month.
• Invoicing local Growing Hope charities each month for book keeping, payroll and quickbooks.
• Running gift aid claims and supporting volunteers to run this across the Growing Hope charities.
• Liaising with local clinics and churches to agree payment schedules and giving for each financial year.
• Participate actively in prayer and worship times as part of the team. This includes praying, coaching and supporting Clinic Managers to understand their budgets and financial processes.

Fundraising

• Contributing to the fundraising strategy and development of budgets for fundraising projects.
• Contributing to the wider teams fundraising efforts through networking, and involvement in fundraising and community events.

Reporting

• Updating monthly forecast vs. budget spreadsheets for each local charity and the national charity.
• Leading monthly budget reporting meetings for Senior Leadership Team and Chair of Trustees, using analytical skills to highlight patterns or potential risks or problems arising.
• Create annual reports in partnership with the Clinic Managers and Finance trustee for each local charity and ensure these are independently examined by recruiting and liaising with volunteer accountants.

Payroll

• Liaising with the payroll provider to run payroll for all staff across the Growing Hope charities each month.
• Setting up and running pension payments each month.
• Paying NI payments each month.

General administration

• Set up bank accounts and signatories for local Growing Hope charities, support the local trustees with ensuring all financial processes are set up and working (e.g. bank account, Stripe, Quickbooks, payroll, pensions, HMRC)
• Sending letters and emails as required.
• Maintain data protection and confidentiality in line with Growing Hope’s information governance policy.
• Ensure adherence to Safeguarding and wider Growing Hope policies.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the charity sector, an interest in additional needs and inclusion are highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL

• Occupational Requirement - This role has an Occupational Requirement to be a Christian, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010.
• ATT certifications (or equivalent)
• At least three years experience as a finance professional
• Commitment to Growing Hope’s vision

About the team

As part of our Communications, Policies and Campaigns directorate we have two large campaigns teams, Digital Campaigns and Strategy and Organising. This role sits in the Strategy and Organising team made up of 15 members of staff working on local and national campaigns.

You will work with the 11 community organisers we have at Shelter, who are based out of the 11 regional hubs, as well as working with three additional colleagues who support Shelter’s national campaigning priorities and the administration of the team.  Your line manager will be the team’s Senior Campaigns Officer who is responsible for managing the strategy development and delivery on some of Shelter’s priority campaigns.

Net Zero Property Officer

The Vacancy

We are offering this unique and exciting opportunity to join in the work of the Connexional Property Support and Environmental Engagement teams and the wider Methodist Church in helping to deliver the strategic target to make all our church property net zero by 2030.

You will be based in the Property Support team, working alongside the Director and colleagues within the team to provide the essential support and guidance the team offers to Trustees, Ministers, Connexional colleagues and the wider church.  You will also be working closely with other Connexional colleagues outside the team, particularly the Director of Environmental Engagement and Action for Hope Implementation Officer.

In particular, your role will provide a crucial focus at a critical time - helping to guide Trustees and Ministers on how to make our church property net zero.  Enabling them to make informed choices and contribute to the promotion and delivery of the Methodist Church’s Action for Hope strategy

Through your specific knowledge and experience, you will also have input into the provision of guidance, advice, communications, training and good practice for District Property Officers and the wider Methodist Church on net zero property matters.

This is an office or home-based role, with the post holder focussing on supporting churches nationally.  You may be required to travel to our offices in Church House, London and other locations around the country as necessary.

We are looking for someone who wants to make a positive contribution to the work of the Property Support team and be equally comfortable collaborating in a team environment or under your own initiative.  You will have experience supporting a senior team, and preferably have relevant knowledge for the role such as environmental, climate or property in this context.

As the role will underpin and contribute to supporting the team’s work with external colleagues, particularly the District Property Officer network, it is essential that you are comfortable in engaging with a range of stakeholders, and have excellent organisational skills, particularly in terms of resourcing and training.

London National Park City is the long term grassroots movement for everyone making London greener, healthier and wilder. London became the world's first National Park City in 2019 with aim of making our city a place where people and nature are better connected.

This new senior role will be responsible for developing a deeply participatory approach to what it means to be part of the London National Park City community and movement. You will draw upon the wealth of experiments, storytelling, and community programming which has already taken place, and shape the next stage of how we build our movement, and support grassroots communities in every neighbourhood of London.

The core of this role will be the stewardship of our Ranger programme, supporting our community of volunteer Rangers, along with recruiting and managing local Ranger Coordinators in a number of London Boroughs as funding is secured. • Report on Ranger activities, connections and communities, and where appropriate, work with Rangers to support London National Park City with campaigns and activities.
• Lead on the recruitment and appointment of new Rangers, including evolving and improving our induction and ongoing training offer.
• Share Ranger stories and support the development of media assets to promote the Rangers and their work.
• Manage the Ranger programme budget and allocation of spending.
• As funding allows, and with the support of the Executive Director, recruit and manage local Ranger coordinators.

You will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with your colleagues in our staff team and with our wider group of volunteers.

Requirements

We’re looking for an experienced, ambitious and dedicated colleague who will be able to appropriately prioritise as we secure additional funding and steadily expand our small staff team.

• Experience in an equivalent community management, membership or partnership, or demonstrable experience of transferable skills.
• Demonstrable experience of movement and community building both on and offline, with strong digital skills and a strong affinity of the role of participatory membership.
• An ability to communicate, present to, and coordinate with a wide range of people at all levels of a variety of organisations.
• Excellent oral and written communication in a clear, concise, accessible and effective manner.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is essential.
• Ability to effectively plan and prioritise workload within deadlines, and to set and meet high standards of delivery.
• Demonstrable experience of managing budgets and careful setting of priorities and making trade offs in a small growing team.
• Willingness to work outside of office hours from time to time as the role requires.
• Commitment to the vision of London as a National Park City and the success of the Ranger Programme.

Salary and benefits

You will be joining and fully participating in a unique and inspirational community of changemakers and storytellers, active across London and increasingly around the world.

This is a permanent role and the salary range is £45,000 to £50,000 dependent on experience. We are open to applications for part-time or other flexible working arrangements.

You will have 25 holiday days allowance per year (pro rata for part-time staff).

Following successful completion of a 3 month probationary period, we will enrol you in our Nest pension scheme, and will make additional payments of 4% as long as you contribute 4% of your salary each month.

This role will predominantly be carried out in person at our Visitors Centre in London and remotely from home, with regular meetings and site visits across London, so you must be based in the UK and be prepared for regular travel.

Selection process

The Education team at the BSA is supportive, creative and innovative, and we care deeply about the work that we do.​

Between us we oversee the CREST Awards scheme (and its associated networks and grants), the activity packs and poster competition for British Science Week and a variety of funded projects that seek to make access to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) more equitable.​​

Key responsibilities include:
Working on a variety of education-related projects and areas of work as required, example responsibilities include: 

• Day-to-day management of the accreditation process of CREST Award activities, including assessing the suitability of activities developed and delivered by partner organisations.
• Assisting with the administration of partnership agreements paperwork and drafting operational instructions that enable partners to engage with the CREST Awards.
• Coordinating the CREST online resource library, including reviewing and updating the contents.
• Providing support on funded project work, including the co-ordination of the development of new STEM resources, predominantly for schools and young people.
• Project coordination tasks including stakeholder and customer liaison, creation of task schedules and monitoring the evaluation of activities and projects.
• Organisation of online events for teachers and students to provide guidance about running CREST and submitting project work for CREST Awards.
• Customer care related activities including responding to teacher enquires via the CREST Help Centre.
• Supporting the development of content for British Science Week Activity Packs and liaising with partner organisations. 

About you
You're a confident, organised and curious person, who is able to manage their own time and workload flexibly. A team-player, you are looking to gain experience working on projects in the charity or STEM education and engagement sectors.

Ideally you will have worked with schools/young people, and you will be comfortable working across all our programmes, transferring your time, skills and energy to different projects and priorities at different times.

You will be highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programmes, and willing and able to learn new IT/digital skills.

Above all you will have a passion for young people and giving all young people (regardless of background) the skills, inspiration and opportunity to feel like STEM is for them.​

Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants is seeking a committed and motivated Head of Fundraising and Communications. Do you want to help refugees and asylum seekers in London? At the Islington Centre for Refugees and migrants, we welcome people who have been displaced from their countries of origin, wherever they have come from, whatever has happened in their lives. Our mission is to offer people the emotional support, practical tools and sense of community they need to be happy and have a decent quality of life in the UK. We are a small, growing charity, founded in 1997, with an expenditure budget of roughly £570,000 for the year ahead. This year we worked with 200 people offering compassionate, long term and holistic support including: a warm welcoming Centre in Islington; an Online School teaching English and offering activities to promote wellbeing; digital inclusion; grants to people in destitution and our Support Service which offers advocacy and advice to people on accessing housing, healthcare and legal advice. 

About the role: 

The successful applicant will work alongside our Trustees, our CEO and our existing Head of Fundraising and Communications in a jobshare to meet challenging fundraising targets. You will be joining us at an exciting time of development, as we open at our third site in Islington, welcome new members of staff to our team and begin work on a new strategy for 2025-2028.
