About the role
As High Value Communications Manager, you'll produce a range of written and designed materials for major donors, trusts, foundations, and corporate partners. You'll also work collaboratively across the BHF including with fundraisers, grant managers and health insight professionals to identify effective narratives and advise on funding opportunities. You'll write and design compelling cases for support as well as proposals, applications, updates, and donor impact reports.
High-value fundraising is growing rapidly at the BHF. Our teams are securing more and more six-figure donations from individuals, trusts, and foundations, winning high-profile corporate partnerships, opening new markets, and offering first-rate engagement opportunities for our supporters.

Working arrangements
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.
At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. About you
To succeed in the role, you should have:
- Proven experience of showcasing the impact of a charitable organisation for an audience of high-level donors, preferably in a medical science context, to foster repeat and lifelong support.
- Proven experience of producing high specification documents for a discerning readership, encompassing experience in copywriting, desktop publishing including InDesign and the effective use of images.
- Demonstrable project management experience, preferably in producing short and longform written materials from conception to delivery, in both digital and hard copy formats.
- Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders towards a common goal.
- Ability to work autonomously and deliver high quality work to a deadline.
- Familiarity with fundraising databases such as OneCRM and Raiser's Edge databases, would be a valuable bonus.

JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Communications Officer works with the Communications team, raising vital support for displaced people around the world through transformational partnerships, creative campaigns and fundraising appeals.
Reporting to the Senior PR Manager, the Senior Communications Officer works across all the charity’s communications activity (PR and digital communications), with a particular focus on promoting and supporting the charity’s partnerships.
This involves identifying opportunities to amplify our partnerships, events, appeals and campaigns through earned media, digital communications and other activities, in order to support UK for UNHCR’s fundraising and public advocacy objectives. Raising awareness of global refugee crises and UNHCR’s humanitarian operations forms a central part of this storytelling, as well as understanding of thematic areas of UNHCR’s work such as education or climate change, and PR moments throughout the year.
Working with the wider Communications team, the Senior Communications Officer will also work with UNHCR experts and our Storyteller Programme, enabling the charity to identify, engage with and support staff and storytellers (including refugees) to share their stories through charity communications across all channels, events and with media.
This role requires close collaboration with the Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy fundraising teams and other members of the Communications team, and providing support to more junior members of the Communications team as needed.

Role Responsibilities

Act as the focal point for partnership communications activity (corporate partners, trusts, foundations and philanthropy), including being a primary communications contact for key partnerships and managing the flow of PPH communications material to facilitate a smooth, swift approval process, internally and with external stakeholders.

Support our Refugee Storyteller programme, including an understanding of related processes such as consent and content gathering and storage, identifying areas for growth and development, and coordination across the charity

Work with the Senior PR Manager on media relations, including identifying opportunities to deliver UK for UNHCR messages in media, drafting media materials, identifying and preparing storytellers for interviews, preparing media briefings and spokespeople for interviews or events

Develop and deliver communications plans for existing partnerships, and as needed for new business and prospect outreach.

The role

You will work for the UK Anti-Corruption Coalition (UKACC) and its Illicit Finance Working Group (IFWG), collaborating with each of its member organisations. The purpose of this role is to coordinate communications activity amongst its member organisations. Communications will largely focus on the UK’s role as a hub for dirty money and range across all channels – from digital and social media to print, broadcast and events.
The Senior Coalition Communications Coordinator will report to the Coalition Policy Manager and perform this within the Transparency International UK advocacy team.
Main responsibilities
- Coordinate UK Anti-Corruption Coalition members to review, refresh, and develop the Coalition’s communications strategy.
- Coordinate joint UKACC media responses and coordinating relevant comms activities between comms professionals embedded within member organisations and relevant parliamentary groups.
- Manage the UK Anti-Corruption Coalition website and social media activities, ensuring the content is relevant to key audiences, compelling and up to date.
- Responsible for coordinating and producing shared messaging and content for the Coalition informed by audience insight and understanding.
- Responsible for working with members to design and deliver events that support the Coalition and member objectives.
- Perform other duties not listed, e.g. help the Coalition Policy Manager complete some tasks and support working groups, including drafting policy consultation submissions and advocacy documents, preparing meeting agendas, and other non-communication functions.
Who we are looking for
- University undergraduate level degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrable and sustained experience of communications and engagement with audiences.
- Professional experience of working with print, broadcast and digital media operations, alongside experience of working with digital and social media tools, and measuring the impact of related content.
- Experience of enabling different groups to coordinate and collaborate
- An ability to identify opportunities for influence and develop a tactical plan to do so
- The ability to think quickly and innovatively to solve complex and difficult issues, both independently and in collaboration with others
- Ability to navigate dynamics between various stakeholders with high levels of diplomacy.
- Ability and confidence to present complex technical information to a non-technical audience.

What the job involves
This is a unique chance to play a pivotal role in driving impactful external communication strategies that support Individual Giving and Events and Community Fundraising. As a key player in the Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team, you’ll enable the integration of mass fundraising activities into wider organisational communications, inspiring action to fund life-saving initiatives that help men navigate prostate cancer.
Supporting the Head of Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand in embedding and developing our Business Partnering model. A major part of the role will be enabling the integration of Mass Fundraising activity into the wider communications plan to enhance results from our communications.
You’ll guide the planning process for projects and campaigns to grow fundraising revenue, support our community and improve outcomes for all men affected by and at risk of prostate cancer.
Please note this role is known internally as Communications Business Partner (Mass).

Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
- Be responsible for curating CSE's social media content calendar. With support from digital comms manager, produce engaging content and ensure CSE’s social channels reflect our strategic goals.
- Create engaging multimedia digital content for websites, social media and our e-newsletter including written copy (blogs, news stories, content pages), video, and graphics using Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Lead on producing video content to promote CSE’s work, including planning, filming, and editing content using Premier Pro.
- Maintain CSE’s video library, including our internal folders, processes, and YouTube channel.
- Support the Senior Communications and Brand Manager to develop CSE’s suite of branded content. This includes creating branded templates for colleagues to use as well as designing digital and print materials for projects.
- With support from the wider comms team, ensure our online presence including website, social media, email marketing and digital advertising reflects strategic goals.
- Support the day-to-day management of CSE’s website, including uploading and editing content.
- Support the digital communications manager with digital channel optimisation including PPC, SEO, social media (paid and organic) as well as re-designing pages to enhance user experience (UX).
- Commission external videographers and photographers when appropriate, dictated by project and business needs.
- Responsible for producing CSE’s monthly e-news with support from the comms team to ensure CSE’s key work is promoted to external stakeholders.
- Regularly track digital metrics and analyse performance data to optimise messaging and strategies and responsibility for monthly reporting.

About the role
