About the role

We are seeking to recruit an advocate for adults with learning disabilities, who will:

• Deliver 1-1 advocacy casework on a broad range of issues that enables people with learning disabilities to express their views and wishes, understand their rights and options, communicate with professionals and address issues they face.
• Coordinate Speak Out’s Drop-in advocacy service, providing time limited 1-1 advocacy within drop-in sessions.
• Develop peer advocacy at drop-in sessions.

About you

The successful candidate will need excellent communication and organisational skills. They will be able to manage a complex workload and work independently within a framework of supervision. Experience of advocacy or work with vulnerable clients is essential. Experience of working with people with learning disabilities and knowledge of learning disability services is an advantage. A full induction and training will be provided as well as ongoing peer mentoring and support. It would be desirable for the successful candidate to hold the national qualification in independent advocacy, however this can be undertaken once in post.

PINF is the first charity in the UK that exists to support high-quality journalism. We exist at the cutting edge of charity law and need an experienced charity professional to make sure we do things properly. 

As Head of Operations & Governance, you will be responsible for overseeing the back-office operations of the charity. You will be a key point of contact for the team and support the Executive Director to ensure smooth, efficient and compliant operations.

You will be a senior member of the team, responsible for ensuring that PINF operates within its legal and regulatory framework, including in relation to charity, corporate, tax, employment and data protection regulations. The role involves liaising with the Chair, Board of Trustees, Executive Director, legal advisors and regulators to support best practice in financial management, governance, risk management and compliance.  

Duties and responsibilities 

• Financial Management 

• Ensure consistent delivery and quality of finance operations, including transactions processing, which will involve managing a bookkeeping service.

• Prepare and monitor annual budgets, management accounts and project budgets.

• Lead on the financial aspects of fundraising, contract management, and funder reporting. Including managing restricted and unrestricted funding. 

• Oversee the process of preparing statutory accounts, including liaising with accountants and auditors.

• Maintain internal controls and policies to protect assets, prevent fraud, and ensure business continuity. 

• Participate in the Finance & Fundraising Committee and support the Treasurer to plan and deliver meetings. 

• Prepare financial reports for board meetings and engage in board discussions.

• Governance 

• Manage our annual governance cycle, working closely with the Chair, Treasurer and Executive Director to ensure legal compliance and to plan and prepare for Board meetings including taking appropriate minutes.

• Manage the organisational risk framework including identifying emerging risks and working with the Executive Director to mitigate them.

• Companies House and Charity Commission filings.

• Develop and maintain a suite of policy to ensure PINF meets its obligations as a charity and an employer.

• Play an active part in board discussion to support good decision making.

• HR 

• Manage HR across the organisation; ensuring all HR processes and policies are fit for purpose, up to date and adhere to law, and are understood and implemented across the organisation.

• Manage recruitment processes for all staff.

• Manage the annual leave tracker. 

• Operations and administration 

• Ensure the smooth running of the organisation by leading operational planning and monitoring progress.

• Lead on relationships and contracts with external suppliers and contractors.

• Ensure PINF has appropriate insurance cover. 

• Occasional support with charitable activities (meetings, events, publications, etc.) 

Requirements  

• A professional qualification in finance, management, law, or a related field and at least five years’ experience relevant to this role.

• Deep understanding of good governance and best practice in the charity sector.

• Understanding of relevant laws relating to employment, data protection and running a charity. 

• Sympathy to the aims and objectives of PINF. 

• Full professional proficiency in English. 

• Right to work in the UK. 

Skills and attributes 

• Experience of managing charity finances and budgets (Essential). A related finance or accountancy qualification would be desirable. 

• Experience of managing operations in a comparable charity or business, with both strategic and day-to-day operational responsibilities. 

• Developing HR processes and policies and taking the lead in implementing these across an organisation. 

• Developing processes and procedures and making improvements for efficiency and impact. 

• Experience of working closely with trustees, non-executives or senior leadership teams.

• Strong oral and written communications skills, including having the confidence to use your expertise to provide feedback and constructive challenge to senior leaders.

The role
 
This is an exciting role, to liaise and support partner organisations to ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and up to date, coded correctly on UH’s cashbooks and reconciled against bank statements. You will also provide technical support to partners’ finance staff and train them on the use of the cashbooks and financial reporting to UH.
 
You will be educated to degree level and have experience in a fast-paced and complex finance role. You should have experience of working with technical accounting packages as well as experience in financial planning and monitoring.
 
The role is fast-paced and complex, and the ideal candidate will need to have proven inter-personal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to assess priorities, organise workloads and initiate action and problem solve.

Leadership

• To lead and inspire the Mass Participation team fostering a collaborative and high performing culture that delivers against income and objectives

Mass Participation Fundraising

• Lead the development of all fundraising products, propositions and community and events, to effectively acquire and engage our mass audience target markets

• Work collaboratively with the Director of Income Generation to develop an approach to Gifts in Wills and legacy marketing

About the role

We’re looking for a Fundraising Engagement Manager with great personality and team ethic to join our Regional Fundraising team.

This is a role of variety, opportunity and innovation, and we are looking for someone who embraces change and constantly strives to achieve more.

You will maximise income for Young Live vs Cancer by coaching our supporters to reach their goals, whilst seeking out new fundraising opportunities for your geographical area. This role sits within the ‘Regional Engagement’ team and we need someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver a legendary experience to all of their supporters. Your team of supporters will range from volunteers and individuals, to groups and local corporates.

The award-winning NSPCC Communications directorate is known for its talent, expertise and creativity in inspiring and challenging people to act on child abuse. We work collaboratively, both organisationally and across integrated communications disciplines, to deliver shared outcomes and measurable results through all available communications channels. 

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our Marketing and Planning team, which has a key role in driving awareness and understanding of our support for children, parents and professionals. We work closely with teams across the NSPCC to raise awareness of our vital services, behaviour change campaigns and income generation which helps us continue to fight for every childhood.

The Strategic Marketing Manager will focus on marketing to adults, in particular parents. They will lead a team of 3 to deliver our flagship behaviour change campaigns, Talk PANTS and Look Say Sing Play, working with colleagues across the organisation and external partners to expand the reach of our campaigns. They will lead on raising awareness of the NSPCC Helpline, that anyone can contact if they are worried about child and support wider priority campaigns that may include Brand and Online Safety. In addition, they will work closely with Income Generation, Services and Strategy and Knowledge on key projects and campaigns to ensure we are working together to maximise income and impact. 

The post-holder will have significant experience in leading insights-driven marketing strategies and campaigns that make an impact, from development through to delivery, overseeing a small team. They’ll be a great communicator, able to build effective working relationships and influence a range of stakeholders. They will be calm and measured to crisis coupled with an ability to make quick decisions. This individual will be highly collaborative in nature with a collaborative spirit in the immediate team and wider communications team. Alongside a desire to continuously learn and develop with a strong ambition to ‘make a difference’.

Job purpose

• The Marketing Manager will work closely with teams across the NSPCC to devise and deliver communications campaigns and projects across a range of disciplines. Specifically: 
• To lead the development and delivery of marketing and communications activity to promote behaviour change campaigns, Talk PANTS and Look Say Sing Play, NSPCC Helpline and other priority campaigns. 
• To line manage and support three roles (one senior officer, one officer and one coordinator) to achieve the wider team objectives. 
• To support and contribute to the Marketing and Communications planning process, particularly for our general public and parent audiences. 
• To evaluate communications activity in order to inform future activity.
• To contribute to the Communication Directorate’s purpose of ensuring that all communication is of
• an appropriate high standard, consistent with the NSPCC’s brand identity.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Lead a team to plan and deliver NSPCC’s flagship behaviour change campaigns, Talk Pants and Look Say Sing Play, managing both multi-channel paid marketing campaigns and utilise opportunities via owned/earned for promotion.
• To provide high quality marketing communications materials across a range of disciplines, working with relevant staff across the NSPCC.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and external partners to expand the reach and impact of our campaigns.
• To develop insight-led campaigns and evaluate all marketing activity to make recommendations and improve future activity.
• To regularly share campaign plans and performance in senior forums.
• To keep abreast of relevant audience insight, competitor activity and best practice to inform campaign strategies and plans.
• Contribute to the Marketing & Communications planning process, ensuring strategic marketing plans are developed for our priority audiences. 
• To develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder and supplier relationships, identifying and incorporating best industry standards and establishing best practice.

Person specification

1.A proven track record in developing and delivering high quality marketing and communications activities on behalf of large, national brands.

2.Experience of delivering strategic marketing and communications activities with a particular focus on inspiring behaviour change. 

3.Experience of stakeholder management, with ability to influence senior decision makers and align stakeholders with different viewpoints. 

4.Experience in co-ordinating and project managing, fast paced integrated marketing and communications campaigns with internal and external colleagues.

5.Ability to lead and manage paid media campaigns with an agency – including writing briefs, managing optimisation and delivery of key measures. 

6.An experienced communicator who has built highly successful relationships with a range of key stakeholders to deliver joint outcomes. 

7.Experience of briefing research and evaluation to enhance strategic planning.

Sussex Emmaus is a 58 bed supported accommodation project. We offer low to medium support for those who have experienced or may be at risk of experiencing homelessness. Emmaus supports people to work their way out of homelessness, providing a home for as long as someone needs it. Emmaus works with people who may have faced multiple disadvantages. The role will involve using a Strength Based Practice model to encourage Companions to become resilient and fulfilled. Where appropriate, in accordance with Companion requests, provide a move-on pathway that enables them to be ready to live independently.
