Passionate about peace, justice and human rights? Experienced in running successful advocacy and campaigns programmes?
Embrace the Middle East is a Christian charity helping people of all faiths and none to free themselves from a life of poverty and injustice. We partner with inspiring and courageous Christian organisations in Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Palestine and Iraq, providing support services for refugees, enabling women's empowerment, working for community development and offering emergency humanitarian relief. Sustaining the active and powerful social impact of Christian-led NGOs in this amazing and diverse region is what drives us. The challenges are immense. But the sense of purpose is strong.
Advocacy is a growing part of our work, inspired and guided by the voices of our partners – primarily speaking and acting in relation to:
- Issues of peace, justice and equal rights in Israel and Palestine.
- Refugees and internally displaced people across the Middle East.
- The presence and role of Christians in the Middle East.
Informed by Christian voices from the Middle East, we engage with Bishops, church leaders, and politicians, and work to educate and mobilise the UK church to advocate for change.
We are looking to recruit an Advocacy and Campaigns Manager to drive and deliver the implementation of impactful advocacy and campaigns, which actively engage Embrace supporters and UK Christians and church leaders to amplify the voices of our partners and bring about change for their contexts in the Middle East.
Main responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to develop and deliver impactful and engaging campaigns into the political sphere with a view to seeing policy and practice changes that will benefit Embrace’s partners and the communities they serve.
- Project manage the delivery of Embrace’s advocacy campaigns strategy for justice and inclusion in the Middle East.
- Work with the Partnership Managers and Church Engagement Team to maintain a nuanced and well-informed understanding of relevant policy, political, theological, church-related and development issues in the region and in the UK.
- Represent Embrace and build strong relationships with advocacy personnel within our Partners and wider sector groups.
- Support the Charity in every way possible to fulfil its vision and charitable aims.
Suitable candidates will possess substantial experience in policy development and engagement within the political system, demonstrating a proven ability to mobilise UK Christians for advocacy and change. You will have project management expertise, particularly in crafting and launching advocacy initiatives aimed at influencing key stakeholders and institutions, with a focus on establishing clear campaign objectives and ensuring timely, budget-compliant delivery of campaign activities.
In the context of this role, a strong theological insight into regional issues is essential, enabling the candidate to navigate the interplay between political and theological matters when collaborating with churches. Their professional capabilities will be complemented by a deep commitment to advancing Embrace’s advocacy efforts, aligning with the charity’s mission and values to transform the lives of marginalised people and communities.
Due to the Christian context of the position, it is subject to an occupational requirement under the Equality Act that you should be a practising Christian who shares our values and ethos at a profound level.
At Embrace, our team enjoys remote and flexible working arrangements, with the opportunity to start your day between 7.30am and 10am and finish between 3pm and 6pm. In addition, you will benefit from a good holiday entitlement and a comprehensive package including a pension scheme, life assurance, retail discounts and a 24/7 employee assistance programme.

We are recruiting a Team Manager to deliver For Baby’s Sake in a new Regional Team in the North East of England. The post will be home based with some elements of hybrid working. Applicants need to be located in the North East of England and be able to travel across the region.
For Baby’s Sake is an innovative, therapeutic, trauma-informed programme. We work with both co-parents individually, supporting a recovery framework to overcome the devastating effects of domestic abuse in their relationship. We acknowledge and explore unresolved and often complex childhood trauma and change harmful patterns of behaviour to develop a home environment where children can flourish. We adopt an attachment-focussed parenting approach that enhances the opportunity for children to feel safe and secure, with parents who are emotionally available and attuned to all their needs.
There must be a current pregnancy to harness change motivations, a desire on behalf of both parents to coparent their unborn baby (although they do not have to be in a relationship) and we can work with the families up until the baby reaches the age of two. The significance of this two-year timescale is evidenced in all recent child development research.
You will have the opportunity to support the continued evolution of For Baby’s Sake whilst ensuring fidelity to the programme and sustaining the ethos and values of the For Baby’s Sake Trust.
The For Baby’s Sake multi-disciplinary team consists of highly trained, therapeutic practitioners capable of establishing and maintaining meaningful, trusting relationships that consistently guarantee engagement and crucially provide the framework for the deeper, therapeutic exploration that allows co-parents to understand the impact of their own parenting experiences. To be part of this exceptional team you must have demonstrable therapeutic skills, sound knowledge and experience of safeguarding children and adults, infant mental health, and a thorough understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse, attachment, and the impact of unresolved trauma.
This position is full-time on a permanent contract. Full details, including the job description, person specification and background briefing information can be found in the relevant attachment. There will be an expectation of occasional travel to locations across the UK on occasions.
Further information about The For Baby’s Sake Trust can be found on our website.
To apply, please complete our application form. On receipt of your application, we will send you an equal opportunities monitoring form – this is confidential and voluntary and will not form part of the selection process.

Are you an experienced fundraiser with a track record of securing and managing large grants? Do
you enjoy finding creative and proactive ways to build relationships with new and existing
funders? We’re looking for a talented fundraiser to join us. Reporting to the Development Director
and working closely with our project leads, this role will be a crucial addition to our mission-driven
team. Individuals who are passionate about public interest journalism and its power to drive real-
world change are encouraged to apply.
About the Bureau
The Bureau is the UK’s largest independent non-profit investigative journalism organisation. In the
last year, our investigations were published in over 100 countries across local, national,
international, specialist, TV and digital platforms. Our four global investigative teams work with
reporters around the world on priority cross-border issues – environment, health, corruption and
big tech. In addition, our UK-focused Bureau Local team uses an innovative community-led
approach to cover issues like insecure work, migrant rights and family courts, amplifying the voices
of underrepresented communities. Founded in 2010, we’ve grown from a small group of
journalists to a diverse team delivering hard-hitting investigations that have prompted inquiries,
sparked legal challenges and informed policy change in the UK and across the world.
Our fundraising
At the Bureau, our funders and supporters are vital. We are almost entirely funded through grants
and donations so – put simply – without their support, we wouldn’t be here.
Although our supporters may come from different backgrounds or have varied priorities, they all
share a common goal: tackling the issues across our society that are eroding democracy and
driving inequality. They support our work to hold those in power accountable, uncover new
evidence to support positive change, and empower citizens.
The Bureau has experienced significant growth over the past three years, increasing our annual
income to £2.8m and expanding to a team of more than 40 people. While the majority of our
income comes from grants, there is strong potential for further fundraising growth, and we are
actively working to diversify our funding streams beyond trusts and foundations.
This is an exciting time to join The Bureau as we continue to build on our strong relationships with
existing supporters while exploring new funding opportunities.
Role and Responsibilities:
Support from trusts and foundations is our main source of philanthropic income so we are looking
for somebody with experience in grants fundraising who can quickly apply their skills and
expertise. You’ll work closely with our Development Director to report to and liaise with current
funders, manage a pipeline of prospects and submit successful applications to secure new grants.
In addition, you will support in building a major donor programme to diversify and strengthen our
funding base. You will collaborate with colleagues at all levels across the organisation, from impact
producers to reporters to finance and operations, in a supportive and welcoming culture that
values teamwork and shared success.
As an excellent communicator, you will be able to take complex issues and translate them into
clear, compelling narratives that resonate with funders and stakeholders. You will also be
passionate about building strong relationships with our funders and supporters.
While experience in high-net-worth fundraising would be a valuable bonus, it is not essential. You
don’t need to have raised funds for non-profit media before, but you do need to be excited by our
work and able to express The Bureau’s key areas of work and impact in an accessible, accurate and
compelling way. We’re a small team, so you’ll need the willingness to pitch in on fundraising tasks
– big or small – to ensure The Bureau is in the best possible position to pursue its mission.
Skills and Experience:
- Excellent fundraiser with a demonstrable track record of 3+ years’ experience successfully raising significant funds for charities or non-profits and managing relationships with funders (foundations - essential, high net worth individuals - desirable);
- Strong background in managing grants admin, including due diligence and processing agreements;

The postholder will also have strong links with our communications and fundraising teams, which also sit within the external relations directorate.
The postholder will shape and grow all our work with and for young people with experience of social work, ensuring all involved have a positive experience. If you feel you have the skills to make a real impact and contribute to creating lasting social change for children and families, we would love to hear from you.
Important information
We have increased the diversity of Frontline’s workforce in the last 12 months, but we need to do more to have greater racialised minority representation in our senior roles. We know the value racialised minority voices bring and therefore, we are strongly encouraging applicants from these backgrounds to apply. We are also a disability confident employer and welcome applicants with disabilities. Please let us know how we can make the recruitment process more accessible for you .
We recognise that artificial intelligence (AI) such as ‘ChatGPT’ etc can be useful for applicants e.g. to shorten an initial draft, so we do not attempt to have an absolute ban on AI in applications. However we would caution applicants not to rely too much on AI in drafting answers to application questions. We want to hear your authentic voice arising out of your experience, and we will be looking for answers that use examples and experiences that are specific to you. You are more likely to be able to produce that kind of content yourself than an AI will.
We reserve the right to close this role ahead of the deadline once we reach a suitable number of applications, so please apply as soon as you can!
You will need to have current right-to-work in the UK prior to application and for at least the first six months (for permanent positions) or for the full duration of the contract (for fixed-term positions). Visa sponsorship is not guaranteed.
